Pregnancy

Apparently my husband has absolutely no idea how the female body works!

This happened last night and it honestly had me rolling about the place laughing.

My husband and I are expecting our first baby. I’m 21 weeks today. Our sex life since I’ve become pregnant has honestly been as good as ever. Passionate and loving a few times a week. Last night in bed I roll over and start “trying it on” as such and he gives me the cold shoulder. This has NEVER happened before so naturally I was worried, did he not find my pregnant body attractive any more? I press him on it and he doesn’t say a lot, all I get was “I’m just not in the mood”. I refuse to accept this so I press him more until he FINALLY admits he’s been reading the baby’s development week by week and he read that the baby learns to grab this week, they will start grabbing their ears, nose and umbilical cord..

Turns out he’s TERRIFIED the baby is going to grab his dick during sex!!! 😭😂 i could hardly breathe through the laughing to explain this isn’t possible!

My husband is honestly the most intelligent person I know, very well educated.. but I think he needs to go back and sit some secondary school biology lessons!!

@AnneLovesGilbert

If someone says they’re not in the mood it’s best to respect that and leave them to it.

That's my first thought. You "refused to accept" and kept pressing him. That's worrying OP. I HATE it when my DH won't take no for an answer and keeps asking me "why" I don't want sex. Unwanted sexual pressure can come from women too

Years ago a pregnant friend told me that she had eaten porridge at work which was too hot and she burned her mouth. She told her dh later as it was bad enough to blister the roof of her mouth. He got cross with her for not being careful because she 'could have burned the baby'. He is an oxbridge educated accountant.......

Christ, Mumsnet has become so bloody uptight lately. Let’s face it, most men know very little about female anatomy. When I met my husband many moons ago he thought women had one period and that was it. He was shocked to know it happened every month, though tbf, that was 30 years ago. He had six sisters!

I know multiple men who thought sanitary towels stuck to the vulva and not underwear and asked if it hurt, like a plaster, when you pulled it off.

When they're only not in the mood because of an irrational fear born from ignorance and probably watching too many repeats of Alien ?

I just winched, reading that. 😖 As if periods weren’t difficult enough! 😁

No amount of explaining it to him got through and he refused to believe it was a constant leak.

Well of course they are ALWAYS right, even when they are very very wrong!

My first childs father very tentatively asked if the baby could see his penis during sex i said not while babys on the inside? What are you talking about? Turns out he assumed the cervix was open hole and the baby had a room with a view 😂

This thread is hilarious! I’ve taught my dd about the female anatomy and having 3 holes. I didn’t know the clitoris was mainly inside the body or where exactly the uretha was until well in adulthood. But grabbing his penis 😂😂

My DH was the same............. he had 'O' level biology, but didn't like the thought of the baby ''In there''.

This is hilarious!! When I was pregnant with DS1 he thought they measured how far you were dilated by putting a ruler up there until they reached the babies head😂 He was much more clued up by the time we had our 4th

Education goes out the window to serve the ego of the penis.

What does this even mean?

Thisismytimetoshine, not you though, eh? You're perfectly entitled to breed and to decry others as 'gobshites'? Hmm

Oh for goodness sake, some people need to unclench on here. It’s a funny comment.

I managed to get AAA in science GCSEs without paying much attention at all; everything I found out about pregnancy and childbirth came from reading up on it while I was in that situation, not from a classroom aged 15. I have a law degree* from a prestigious university and can assure you that I’m a very intelligent individual.

(*Though I am now a primary teacher, and try to answer questions about things like this as honestly as possible as I am aware that boys in the past were very left in the dark about female biology!)

Whirlpoolsedge that does actually make a bit of sense to me... even if I know full well that it's not the method at all! Grin
