Oldermum80 · 06/09/2020 11:39

@spierse I am so sorry. I had one myself in March and it’s so hard. I can’t begin to imagine the pain of going through it more than once.

spierse · 06/09/2020 12:01

Thanks ladies, I am just so over it, I don't want to go through this yet again its such a physical trauma, its 3 times in 10 months its all just too much, I literally feel numb, OH has been amazing, I feel so bad for him, I'm 39 and we have been together 21 years I am so worried that I have left this too late, really just not looking forward to the road ahead as now I will have to have all the tests etc to figure out what is going wrong as there is no issue with my fertility but for whatever reason my pregnancies just don't seem to make it past the 7/8 week mark. The hospital called me back and they will scan me on Tuesday and then tell me what the next steps are.

holb54 · 06/09/2020 12:37

@spierse I don't blame you, you've been through so much mentally and physically. 39 isn't too late anymore, my parents had a similar story.. Married over 20 years with no kids and after a miscarriage, my mum had me at 41. Doctors are great and there's so many options, I hope you get the answers you need and you're able to have the future you want 🤍

@spierse I'm so, so sorry.

I've been through testing for recurrent loss, and had IVF, so if you've any questions about testing or want to bounce ideas off someone (or even need an ear), drop me a message.

Never feel bad about bringing the thread down/worrying us. We're here to support each other through the good and the bad. x

TheFoz · 06/09/2020 13:26

@spierse I was in the same boat. I had 3 losses in 10 months, two were at 5 and a half weeks, both happened naturally, one was a mmc at 7 and a half weeks requiring medical management and surgical management. And by God was I angry.
I have two older children, both girls. I am convinced, from my own experience and that of others that I know, that certain women cannot carry a particular sex of baby. So I’m completely convinced I’m having another girl, time will tell.
I didn’t get to have any investigations because of Covid and then I got pregnant again anyway.
I did nothing different this time, only I got my bloods done with the GP. I’d advise getting your thyroid and progesterone levels checked.
You can get pregnant so at least that is something. Take time to lick your wounds, but don’t give up, you will get your rainbow baby. And you haven’t left it too late, I’m almost 42, you have time. ❤️

spierse · 06/09/2020 13:35

Thanks @holb54 @TheFoz and @ValidUser I know so many people have been through this as well and worse, thanks everyone for the support it really helps

Mrs1989 · 06/09/2020 14:04

@spierse, just to say that a while back my colleague at work told me about a relative who experienced recurrent miscarriage and she echoed what @TheFoz is saying about the baby’s sex. This lady had several miscarriages but did go on to have girls. My colleague told me very sadly “she couldn’t have boys”. I did not really think much of it at the time but wondering if there is something to this. It is so random and cruel but also gives hope that there is not an issue with having a healthy pregnancy in the future.

I am so sorry again for what you are going through. I can understand the thought of going through investigations is daunting and exhausting but I am keeping fingers crossed that it will provide you with some answers and can help you and OH to look positively to the future xxx

Rosehips89 · 06/09/2020 15:39

I'm due first week of march!
Had a loss last year so I can't quite believe we've made it to 13+4 days. Can I relax now??!

holb54 · 06/09/2020 15:51

@Rosehips89 I'm not sure when the relaxing is supposed to kick in 😂

OP posts:
chloxhunt · 06/09/2020 15:57

Just had a chai tea latte and just read you're not supposed to have it when you're pregnant 🤦🏼‍♀️

SnickerdoodleSnek · 06/09/2020 15:57

@Rosehips89 What is relaxing and how does one manage it? 😂

chloxhunt · 06/09/2020 15:59

@Rosehips89 what's relaxing? Do you have to walk it?

SnickerdoodleSnek · 06/09/2020 15:59

@chloxhunt How come? Just because of the caffeine content? I would have thought it'd be fine as long as it's one cup.

chloxhunt · 06/09/2020 16:00

@SnickerdoodleSnek some contain anise which can cause contractions which can turn into a miscarriage, but I've read that someone drank it through her whole 2 pregnancies not knowing she shouldn't of

Oh wow okay! That's something I didn't know about! I'm sure it's fine that you've had one cup though.

holb54 · 06/09/2020 16:20

So overpriced but can't wait to treat myself to these 😍

@holb54 I knooooow they look so good! But the price tag 😱 They'd make a good 12 week scan celebration treat though 😉

holb54 · 06/09/2020 16:48

@SnickerdoodleSnek it'll be worse in euro, was thinking it be a nice treat for that too! Any excuse Wink

I’ve just opened a big bag of white chocolate buttons, no idea why they put ‘more to share’ on the packet?! How strange!
