@holb54 I find it easier to sleep on the right too😂 but this the Chinese Calendar said boy lol

chloxhunt · 06/09/2020 19:32

@holb54 I know it's a laugh but my mum was sick throughout her whole pregnancy with me and I'm pretty sure I'm a girl? I could be wrong 😂 I've gotten off lightly I think with morning sickness

holb54 · 06/09/2020 19:40

@chloxhunt on that I'm leaning towards girl but Chinese calendar says boy! I just love the guessing, hoping to find out the gender so I can stop then 😂 are you going to find out or leave it a surprise?

chloxhunt · 06/09/2020 19:46

@holb54 that's the same with me lol 😂 yeah I want to find out! It's so much easier to buy stuff for it 😂 could you imagine if they got it wrong though and you bout it a dress and it turns out to be a boy?😂😂😂

holb54 · 06/09/2020 19:54

@chloxhunt I'm too much a planner to not know! oh God they did with my cousins partner, girl turned out to be a boy.. icandy pink pram, clothes and nursery all to be changed! Same with a colleague but at least she found out at last scan 😂

@holb54 ohhhhh nooooo😂 if i bought a dress I'd make it wear that shits expensive 😂

aureliacecilia · 06/09/2020 19:58

I think I'm having a second son. I really don't mind whether this baby is a boy or girl but so far my pregnancy seems very similar to my last.

chloxhunt · 06/09/2020 20:00

@aureliacecilia aw really? My Nan didn't have morning sickness was at all and she had 2 girls and 1 boy

LottieDot · 06/09/2020 20:11

Mine are 50/50 girl boy ha. Chinese calendar says boy and I think boy but hubby thinks girl. We're going to find out at 16/17 weeks so not long!

Babafarmer · 06/09/2020 20:43

@chloxhunt @SnickerdoodleSnek I second emptying your bladder and hour before then I drank about 3/4 pint 50 minutes before and mine was nicely full but bearable and got a lovely clear scan. When I drank a pint an hour before at my private scan I found it unbearable and that was only short scan. My 12 week one took about 30 minutes because baby position was awkward to do the NT measurement.

aureliacecilia · 06/09/2020 20:45

Thanks for the tips on how much to drink. I've got the first appointment of the day for mine so I think I'll just drink what I usually do at breakfast. With my son I had to go to the loo after they started scanning because it was just too uncomfortable, as I had really drunk a lot to try to ensure a good picture!

Wren1986 · 06/09/2020 20:45

@SnickerdoodleSnek @chloxhunt they told me to empty my bladder an hour before and then drink 1/2 pint of water, this gave a clear scan image for my 12 week scan. It wasn't too bad apart from actually have to drink a lot of water quickly! For 20 weeks the letter says to drink a full pint though!

chloxhunt · 06/09/2020 20:48

@Wren1986 ahhh okay thank you!!

Thack · 06/09/2020 20:54

Oh dear. SIL has asked me to be her bridesmaid in June. She's having the same colours as I did (4 years ago, really not a problem) so to save costs I suggeated I could wear the bridesmaid dress she had to mine (which she's happy with, she loves the colour and doesn't fit it now). What she doesn't know is that I'll have a 2 month old and will be (hopefully) nursing. I figured I'll find something to wear nearer the time.

She's messaged tonight saying she's having a 2nd bridesmaid and sent a screenshot of a dress asking if it was a good match to the original 🙈
(she is hyper excited and seems to want to book/buy everything in this first fortnight after setting a date). Ahhhhh fiddlesticks. Can't tell her yet! Hope she forgives me!

(no help needed here, I just needed to share this)

SnickerdoodleSnek · 06/09/2020 20:56

Thanks for the advice @Wren1986 and @Babafarmer! I should just manage that as our school has lunch quite late in the day so I should be able to fit a loo break in an hour before the scan!

RunnerRunner · 06/09/2020 20:57

Much better to buy neutral coloured things particularly for expensive items like prams etc so they can be used again. We’ve never found out the sex before the birth so all our newborn clothes are mainly white anyway. People buy you so much stuff when you have your first baby and they all seem to buy 0-3 months so you have piles of newborn clothes in blue or pink anyway. I don’t get what you need to plan for before the baby arrives unless you need everything to be blue or pink 😆?!

Manrita · 06/09/2020 20:59

@chloxhunt I had my dating scan last week and my letter said to drink a pint and a half of water. I still got sent out to the waiting room to drink more because baby was too relaxed!

chloxhunt · 06/09/2020 21:10

@Manrita mine literally says a moderate full bladder which isn't helpful lol

KatieG200394 · 06/09/2020 21:10

ooh can I join please? I'm due 10th March

EmzG20 · 06/09/2020 21:12

Has anybody else got pain in their hips already?

chloxhunt · 06/09/2020 21:13

@EmzG20 I had it earlier when I was walking actually

holb54 · 06/09/2020 21:17

@Thack aw just one of those situations, she won't mind 😂

OP posts:
EmzG20 · 06/09/2020 21:18

@chloxhunt mine is when walking or laying in bed can't get comfortable

chloxhunt · 06/09/2020 21:21

@EmzG20 yeah when I lay on my side my right hip and leg starts hurting no matter what side I'm laying on

Rosehips89 · 06/09/2020 22:14

Yes! I never get headaches normally, but I've been getting persistent headaches that linger after a paracetamol dose wears off.
It seems to have eased somewhat now, but I'm definitely more susceptible to getting them. Drinking water helps, but it got to the point where I was constantly sipping water
