I knew it!!! I knew it was something interesting!!!
Great to hear you positive again Ready?!

Must try and e-mail you Rainbowy while you're away from your family - not because I'm nosey (although I am!!), but because it must be pretty rubbish - particularly at this time of year.

Not sure what just possessed me, but I just scrubbed the kitchen floor by hand - I've never done that in my life before (do you think my body still thinks it's pregnant?!!! - maybe sympathy pre=labour with Honey?!) Looks good though now!! Finally having a little sit down to myself as DD and DH have gone swimming and Toby is sleeping, but he's stirring, so don't think I'm going to get long with my feet up (can't make a cup of tea, as the floor is still wet!!)

For some reason, Honey, I thought you were going to be early not overdue - so I hope you don't go as long as Greedy did. What would you prefer an October or November birthday??!

Oh po - Toby's waking - have to go. Hopefully back later.

Big waves to all -hope you had good weekends all? I don't want tomorrow, we've had a great half-term and it's going to be a shock being on my own again as DH goes back to work!

Evening...

DP just popped out to get a curry... having a few twinges ... not sure whether it will turn into anything, but keeping my fingers crossed.

Fettle- I think I'd rather an october baby, as I already have a december and a january!

Keep u updated
xx

MrsMcSpooky · 28/10/2007 18:28

Fingers crossed Honey

Had a lousy day as have blocked sinuses and a headache mooped about and haven't got anything done

Finally won something on EBay I won a new Avent microwave sterilser for £5 missed another Nature's Nest though and another Rain Forest swing

Chooster · 28/10/2007 19:26

Wow, xmas puds and xmas cake cooking!!! Bloody hell you ladies are talented AND organised . This morning we had no milk, no bread... thats about sums up my domestic prowess .

Iampg - Your pictures are just amazing!!! I was so shocked that you could see so much . Like Greedy I got DH to come and look and we both went "Awwww". I kind of wish I'd gone for a 4D scan now having seen that - but late now though eh!!! . Congratulations on finishing work soon, its a wonderful feeling isn't it... Enjoy every minute of it .

So its kind of the opposite for you Firsty. Like you say I know it will be hard to go back but you will adjust and Ty will be in very good and capable hands . I reckon its hard to go back to work and leave the LO's no matter when you do it. I'm not looking forward to my return either... I hope you are not getting too worried about the operation you'll be having? I think you said you would find out the date in December. Will it be a long wait after that do you think? Its funny what you say about wanting another baby, I was adamant that we wouldn't have any more (and I really dont think we will!!) but I didn't expect to want another one quite as much or as early after Tho's birth as I do. I mean I dont want one as in thinking of trying, but I struggle with the thought that this will be our last baby. Does that make sense????

Hi Fettle - How is little (or should I say big) Toby? Is his colour improving? Good to hear you had a little time to yourself, even if it was only brief. Good to hear that the half term week was so good . Yup, I'm trying formula in the bottles as, like you, I really can't be faffed with expressing, just dont have enough hands or time in the mornings to do it. So we've been trying formula and we had a breakthrough tonight as Theo took an ounce and a half . Ok, so its hardly a full feed but its a start!!! I tried him at his 5pm feed and he was so relaxed and happy so I just sa with him on my knee for about half an hour and he just chewed and played with the teat. Eventually he had a few sucks . He then started to get a bit anxious so I BF him the rest of his feed but I'll be trying again tomorrow.

So you're getting the eternity ring eh Greedy!!!! Thats fab!!!! good on Mr Greedy . It sounds beautiful... How are the DC now????

Totally agree with the travelling thing Seaside. Do as much as you can before you have a toddler on your hands as you have to be so much more considerate about their needs at that time. At least thats my experience but I know people do travel a lot with toddlers. We've taken DS1 to the States quite a few times and although it was hard work for me and DH he was fine on the flights etc. But MUCH easier as a baby . Just wish we'd done more.

Hi Ready - Great to hear you are already more positive and optimistic. It will happen

Hi MrsMc - Any word on the house? Did you have viewing today?

Hello to everyone else. Anyone heard from Babymad? We've had a good weekend here and should have a good week ahead. Got a few social things lined up tomorrow and Tuesday and then got one of my best friends visiting from London from Wednesday for the rest of the week. Can't wait ... Then got a fancy dress party on Friday to go to... Its an 80's theme. Any ideas??? I thought Edward Scissor hands?? Gotta go!!!

fettleandbabyfettle · 28/10/2007 20:35

Evening all

Honey - hope those twinges and the curry are doing their magic as we speak!!

Chooster - good to hear from you. Toby is doing ok-ish. He's started doing what DD did around 6 weeks - screaming and writhing around the breast when feeding and the only thing which stops him seems to be falling asleep Not quite sure what is going on, but hopefully it won't last as long as DD's did (around 4-6 weeks!!). I'm going to mention it to the HV at our 6 week check on Wednesday as it's going to be a tiring few weeks otherwise - poor DD hates it when he cries (she had to leave the room at the hospital on Tuesday as she was so distraught by his cries while the doctor was bleeding him). Sounds as if you have a good week ahead of you - how about Wonder Woman for your party!!!

Firsty/Chooster - it is weird. With DD, it took over a year before I even thought I might want another child due to the stress of my pregnancy and the OC. But this time around, despite the bad SPD and OC and more painful labour, I became clucky after about 3 days!!!! We're pretty sure too that we won't be having any more - in fact DH is definite. DD and I are less so (although she only wants another if it can be a girl, so she can have a sister!!!).

I have to say that I'm really really missing work at the moment - although I'm not looking forward to the childcare issues as I'll miss them both very much - can't believe I'm even thinking about going back to work - Toby is not even 6 weeks old. I think it is because subconciously I know that I'm not going back for a while, that it seems more attractive than it actually is (and the fact that a really exciting project that I was working on is ramping up speed and I'm going to miss the best parts of it, which is pretty gutting!!). BUT I love my children - but please anyone who's about to have your first - TRAVEL, TRAVEL, TRAVEL!!!! it is so much easier when they are little! DH and I were talking about everything we wished we done before we had children yesterday, which now are really pretty difficult with 2!!

I wonder how buggymad is - I hope all is ok with her.

Greedy - how are your snotty/ill DC? hope all is getting back to health in the Greedy household! Got your eternity ring yet?!

Right - time to make packed lunches for DD and DH - given up even pretending I can do them in the mornings!!!

Sleep well all - except Honey - I want you pushing!!!

Hi everyone. Hope you are all well.

I'm moving shortly, so its panic stations here to get ready in time.

Honey best wishes and hope it happens soon for you.

Take Care everyone

Love Rah Xx

seaside72 · 29/10/2007 08:57

Hi Rah and Ready - good luck with move Rah - Reads- any news on where you might be setttling - are you still at MIL?

honeyapple -I am thinking of you and my BF every few hours (BF was due last week) hope the curry worked?

Think we need to do a stats update soon? Buggymad is usually our top girl for that isn't she? - as already mentioned - hope she is OK and will pop in soon

OK -having seen everyone's advice I have made up my mind we are definitely planning lots of trips next year!! Just need to get the dogs fostered out!!

Fettle - missing work eh! It is so weird I have almost forgotten what it is lke to be part of the work culture - working for yourself/from home is so different so I cant imagine that I will really properly 'stop' and 'start' work again. There are pros and cons though. I am so happy never having to commute to an office ever again - that was my main ambition!! Although I do miss the getting dressed up smartly and being part of a group work culture/team (Unfortunately being on a building site with a load of workmen isn't quite the same as a boardroom!!)

Chooster - thank goodness there is someone out there not being a domestic goddess all the time! Xmas cake baking!!! Next someone is going to tell me they have done al their Xmas shopping!!!

Firsty - Keep us posted on your op hon - I know you must have said what is is for but I am dozy pg brain girl I hope it is not too invasive

Greedy - hope everyone is feeling better - sending you some olbas oil vibes

MrsMc - well done on successful bidding You are my organisational guru!!!
I must confess I am having a bit of a panic - I skimmed through the Jan ante-natal thread (which I still have not joined as I will never keep up with everyone) and am feeling so unprepared - everyone is packing hospital bags already - I have done nothing!!! (except buy some cute clothes and a changing mat for Dave - BTW - I was counting on you all to ridicule our jokey name - and now look what has happened - everyone likes it - ARGHHHH!!!) I realy cannot realistically see that I will be getting prepared until December what with work and building stuff going on in the house! Am I being silly. I suddenly thought I should have gone out at the weekend and bought up boots as there was a mega points offer on - but I didn't. I think I am in denial!! I am loving being pg so much that I kind of just want to stop time now for a few months - Am I mad!!!

Also Is it normal that the movements are changing? From 20- 26 weeks it was all def kicks and jerks and now it is more sequences of less jerky/violent movements - not so easy to discern IYKWIM - Is that just cos he is getting bigger and doesn't have as much space?

Finally I need some more advice -If we were to indulge in one last scan - when would you have it?? After seeing Iampg's pics I want one of those now!!! (where did you go for it BTW?) but DH thinks if we are going to have one we should wait until 32-34 weeks (as recommended by FMC in London) to be more medically informative - position, size, growth etc? But then no cute 4D pics (DH says we will have plenty of those for the rest of our lives!!)

Sorry for all the queries and questions and neediness

fettleandbabyfettle · 29/10/2007 09:28

Hi seaside!!!

christmas puddings are so easy!!! Just take 6 hours to boil!!!! cant give you the recipe as it is a secret family recipe that i got from my MIL on my wedding day!!!!

If you want photos from scan, you will need to go sooner rather than later as baby will be too big otherwise - if you want medical reassurarance go with fetal clinic advice.

Movements do change, but you should still be feeling lots of them!! I really miss them!!!! I used to feelk whole body shifting movements rather than kicks as he got bigger!

I know exactlt what you mean about loving being pg - despite my complications in later pg, I so loved the middle part you are in now!!!! Almost !!!!!

Don'tt worry bout not being organised - greeds and i were the same around this stage if you remember!!! Both got there in the end and in fact we only finally finished toby's room yesterday - put up wardrobe and pictures - finally looks like a nursey rather than a clutter room!!!!

typing one-handed as you can probably tell so going to go now!! quiet here today with dh at work and dd at school - missing them!!!!

BTW - i love my tomee tipee microwave steriliser mrs - very good purchase!!!!

any news honey?/????

Bloodkin · 29/10/2007 10:08

Hi all

Phew - we have shipped out the last of the half-term visitors. God that was exhausting! Lovely to be back into my normal weekday routine and everything is much more civilised!

Seaside - I agree that you should just enjoy the pregnancy and not worry too much about buying everything in sight. With both pgs, I left it all to the last minute and it was fine! In fact with Isla, I decided to finally go out and buy some nappies, and 6 hours later she arrived, so that was cutting it a bit close, but nevermind
Don't worry about asking questions - I love going through people's first pregnancies with them! And don't worry if you think you don't want to BF, it is your choice and you must do whatever makes you happy. I had a friend who felt the same - was adamant she wouldn't BF, but when her baby was born, she said it actually just felt like totally the right thing to do, and fed him for a year! So don't rule it out completely

Chooster - thank god you are not being a domestic goddess either! Unloading the dishwasher is about the height of my abilities at the mo! Great to hear Theo is coming round to the bottle. I shall keep persevering! Isla is still chucking up her night feed - 3 nights in a row now grrrr. What to do? Am thinking that maybe cos my boob is quite full by 4am (when she usually feeds) she is guzzling too much and bringing up the bit she doesn't need. Should I maybe try and wake her to feed at 10pm ish in the hope she then goes through til 6/7am? I used to try to do that with DD1 but it never worked, she still woke in the night! Might post about it in the BF section....

Fettle - hope Toby's screaming and writhing when feeding sorts itself out and doesn't carry on too long, sounds like it makes feeding very hard work.

Hope Honey is in labour as I type!

Hi everyone else, better go - baby calls!

honeybobbingapple · 29/10/2007 10:14

Sorry- no news hear ... getting boring isnt it.

Kids back to school which is good as I can have a little time to myself. Have made an appointment with MW for tommorrow for a sweep, bit worried my cervix will be totally posterior and clamped shut.

Seaside- agree with Fettle that movement does become more squirmy when baby gets bigger, although I found that it was more obvious to see... my whole tummy moves and I get very obvious feet bumps sticking out my side.

Chooster- edward scissor hands eh! That could be tricky when you want something to eat or drink .

Rah- good luck with the move

Speak later

Chooster ? don?t be too impressed, I think I may have overcooked the Christmas cake it feels like a brick ? its for my folks, my sister is collecting it next weekend when she comes up (I?ll have to instruct her to soak it with mucho brandy to see if that helps!) LOL we?ll watch this space on you and more babies Glad to hear that Theo is coming to terms with the formula No viewers yesterday I should have just stayed in bed 80s themed party hey?! Edward Scissor Hands sounds tough!

Fettle ? poor you that sounds exhausting with Toby I hope it gets better soon. I am continually impressed by your commitment to your career I feel so bad, I worked so hard for so long to get where I am and yet I?d happily throw it all away at the moment, I know I won?t always feel that way (or don?t think I will) so travelling to the BVI on 16/4 is a good plan for us and Beanie then?! a hand me down recipe hey I made puddings last year but didn?t think they were great thanks for the positive comments about the steamer

DracuRah LOL love the name hope the house move goes well hon, will be thinking of you

Ohhh been meaning to say for ages (and I know I was meant to do the letter from us all to Johnny Boden and haven?t done it did you all get the new Mini Boden catalogue with the request for child models?? If not, let me know and I?ll let you know the details, I reckon all your kids are contenders

Seaside was thinking about Buggymad last night too, reckon she is just hectic with her 3 I really do have a good work combo at the mo 2 days of the working from home scenario (washing on and out, warm home, pussy cats, peace ) and then 3 days in the office which apart from the commute and the pesky colleagues, there are some that are a laugh and I do enjoy a wee wander round the shops at lunchtime I have actually finished my Christmas shopping! Don?t panic hon you?ve got loads of time I was talking to a friend who is being induced on 12/11 and she hasn?t even packed her bag yet, it?s just hysteria I haven?t packed mine either but am getting stuff together but one of the reasons for that is financial, I am trying to do all the spending now whilst I have an income! The AN thread is good, there are a hard core of chatterers we have a couple of ladies with GD and a couple with placenta issues and poor Fruitful who is coming up to 28 weeks I think is in hospital already battling to get the baby to hang on in there for a few more weeks, then we have cryptletsandtwins who yes, has triplets and is expecting twins! I do think it is really funny that you call the bump Dave Boots Online is your best bet ? less distance to carry all that stuff and some great online offers! I like being pregnant too, well most of the time! Those movements sound fine to me; I am getting lots of shifting and heaving and a lot of kicks inwards rather than outwards now. Not sure about the scan dilemma, maybe later on you?d know more about the position for birth but then again, you won?t see the whole baby on the screen, we did at 24 weeks but haven?t a clue if we could of at 28 weeks

Weird dreams last night ? I was getting a 2nd hand breast pump from Penny Lancaster-Stewart!

fettleandbabyfettle · 29/10/2007 11:18

Oh Mrs - could you e-mail me the details about the mini-models - always worth a think about!!!

I think you're pretty sensible having your Christmas shopping finished already with your due date - haven't even started mine yet!!!

If you're dreaming bout Penny, I assume you watch strictly come dancing - rubbish result last night wasn't it - I liked both of them, and neither should have gone!!

Must try and get Toby to settle off my lap - poor lamb screams and cries whenever I put him down - just like DD - I'm not going to get anything done today!! Going to a friend's with DD after school, so need to get some things done this morning before I pick her up. Need to get the sling out, but never very good at bending over with a baby in a sling, always worry they are going to fall out?

What slings do people have/recommend? Think we've got the baby bjorn somewhere, but not sure where?

xxx

OP posts:
spiritdays · 29/10/2007 11:29

The mystery continues, no one dares email me.... hehehe, haha ha...!!!!

Will come back later shrouded in more mystery as it is that time of year again...

MrsMcSpooky · 29/10/2007 14:52

I'll email you tomorrow Fettle - promise, and I'll email you Spiritdays

I did watch SCD, totally agree, crazy dance off situation, Kenny looked terrified of what might happen back at home and I noticed poor Ola was in tears, reckon James might have a temper too!

I imagine that I'll need a good sling too as I will be worried about the cats cuddling Beanie if I am not watching and I'll get nothing done if I watch Beanie all day. I am still to research slings. My sister is lending me a Baby Bjorn but I want a soft one too - might check the BUB homepage, must be some recommendations on there.

greedygreedyguzzler · 29/10/2007 18:36

so when did honey last post on here then? i tried to catch up but it takes so long to read everything properly doesnt it? has she posted since her curry? WOW! i hope she has her little boy already.

i feel like i have had marcy forever! i dont feel any closer to getting into any sort of routine though, which is unlike me! she has spent the whole day in her carseat or buggy being dragged along with me to take ds to nursery, then pick him up and then take dd to preschool and then pick her up and then take ds to karate! so she has done a LOT of sleeping! probably in for a crap night!!!!

ive got to go now cos dh is giving me one of his looks cos he is trying to deal with all3 of them while i am on here!! (i have had them all day though!)

i WILL CATCH UP PROPERLY soon!!! and i might even change my name to something more spooky!

love to everyone and good luck honey

greedygreedyguzzler · 29/10/2007 18:39

honey - just noticed that you have posted today! my cervix was very high when i had my sweep but i had given birth within 24 hrs after! i bet you will be 2cm dilated too cos i was and that seems to be the norm if you are a 'multip'!!

seaside72 · 29/10/2007 19:29

Thanks for the reassurances everyone - as usual you are all fab at making me feel better!

MrsMc - yes - those are the movements I am feeling exactly - lots more inward like you said. BTW I have fallen in love with this baby chair/high chair as it is raised up on a gas strut (like bar stools) so out of the way of licking dogs! - may work for cats too?? It converts to high chair and then kiddichair so some versatility for the £££
Bloom

Right - I have bought 2 Xmas presents and also a new washbag for hospital bag (not that I needed one but it was nice!) - does that count towards getting organised

honeybobbingapple · 29/10/2007 19:56

Evening .

Hi Greedy- thanks for the info about your sweep. I'm seeing MW at 2.45, so will post to let you know after I get DC from school. Are you totally knackered? How is life with 3? How old is Marcy now?

Seaside- funky chair thingy. How easy is it to clean sick and poo off though ? That wooden rocker is very nice too, mind you IMO part of the joy of having a baby is having a load of horrible plastic crap littering your house for the next 16 years...

Re slings- I have always loved baby bjorn ones. Got rid of mine after having DD (thought no more were coming!)... but my sis has given me her old one. I was lent one of those huggababy(?) ones but didnt get on with it, felt like baby would fall out or that it couldnt breathe. Didnt like all the bulk of material around me either.

Seaside- meant to say, dont worry... you have plenty of time to get yourself organised for arrival of your LO. Relax and enjoy being PG.

x

iampgatlast · 29/10/2007 20:26

hello ladies

i have read and caught up but no time to do a proper post tonight

just wanted to say to seaside that if you are looking for the 4d scan i went for a company called babybond www.babybond.co.uk or might be .com not sure but anyway they were fantastic and have franchises all over the uk, think the latest they reccomend to have it though is at 32 weeks because baby is too big after that for clear pics.

let me know what you decide! it was £195 btw but well worth the money IMO

take care everyone xxxxx

Bloodkin · 30/10/2007 12:16

Hi, just a quickie as I have realised I am spending far too much time on here and not enough time looking after my house, which is a complete state after all our visitors. Anyway - just wanted to say that the Baby Bjorn is really good for the first 3 months, but after that it becomes quite a strain on the shoulders. I am covetting this at the moment - have gone off the idea of making my own pouch sling as, well, just can't be bothered, and these are just soooo gorgeous and nicely made And they last well into toddlerhood too.

Hey Greedy - don't worry about the lack of routine - just because it worked for DD1, doesn't mean to say DD2 will be the same, and I reckon most babies take about 10 weeks to start showing any kind of pattern to their naps/feeds etc. Well mine did anyway When are you going to post some more pictures of her?

Seaside - that high chair is quite something! I notice there is no price on the website though - i imagine it is fairly scary!

Honey - good luck with the sweep!

Mrs, as usual I am at your superb organisation re: Xmas pressies! Totally understand why though - when I was heavily pg with DD1 (born in the Jan) I had to do all my shopping and it was a nightmare!

Anyone else see the thread about being eternally broody? Really interesting - sounds like we're all suffering from that a bit! It's not like I want another child, but I can't imagine never having another baby

honeybobbingapple · 30/10/2007 12:20

Hello

Another few twinges today... ahahhahhhahadshjha AJG.;gu/ driving me nuts!!

Blooders- I saw that thread... I really hope I have a sense of closure (sorry for the americanism but cant think of a better word) after this one... I mean I dont want to live with the feeling of wanting more children. Would love to be totally contented with number 3. Greedy- do you feel this now?

right... back to the gym ball for a few bounces before my sweep!
