I wake up every 2-3 hours during the night, @TerribleImagination. Same as you, mine is mostly to pee again and change position as my hips start to hurt.
Fantastic news, @scrumdiddly123! So, so pleased for you!
@SunnySideUp2020 I think all you can really do is go with it until you feel better. That's basically what my midwife said to me.
Slowing any weight gain will depend on what you are eating and why, but you've honestly not put that much on. If you read the 'how much did you put on in pregnancy' threads, some women put loads on in the first trimester, then hardly anything for the rest of the pregnancy, whereas others like me suddenly put on 3 stone in the last trimester!!
If you're overloading carbs to stop the nausea, you could try different foods - I found satsumas really helped with the nausea (and are also good for ahem keeping you regular), as did sucking mints/boiled sweets. And ice lollies! For meals, plain whole-wheat pasta with cheese, jacket potatoes with whatever topping I could tolerate, a protein with boiled potatoes and veggies (I served them, even if I couldn't face actually eating them!). I also covered everything in salt
but still better than another crisp sandwich...
