P.s. @TerribleImagination hope work hasn't been too bad today lovely. Did you get your BP rechecked? When do you start your mat leave? 😘

TerribleImagination · 26/10/2020 21:09

Thanks lovey @MilsCookie ❤️ I told my boss this morning that I was too stressed last week, and how it affected my BP. He called me today and allocated a load of the application I’m doing this week to the team, so that’s take a ton of pressure off me!

BP was fine this afternoon, 130/84. Midwife still seemed ever so slightly cautious for some reason, but said she’s not worried and just told me to look out for signs of PE. Spoke to my friend who’s a midwife, who said 130 is totally fine and absolutely no need for concern at all 🤷🏻‍♀️ So I’m absolutely sure it was high on Friday from work stress. Everything else was fine, no protein in urine, no headaches etc... All bloods fine, iron levels grand etc.

My last day before mat leave is the 18th Dec! So I have 8 weeks left... I can’t wait haha.

ChampooPapi · 26/10/2020 21:18

Like @MilsCookie I've heard they are pretty unreliable but of your not against having internal stuff generally they absolutely cannot hurt the process of bringing on labour @AlviesMam. So if your game it's definitely worth doing it, and pretty exciting too because of it does provoke labour your could be holding your baby girl this week! Good luck and report back to us, I will keep every crossed it does work because actually I'm certain you are ready to meet her now and have her safely in your arms and say farewell to being pregnant, and start being a mummy instead 💖

This is such an epic week coming up for so many of us, @MilsCookie you have also reached such a milestone, thirty weeks is definitely a point of change as far as their development goes, a huge achievement, and the relief does just flood through you once you reach that point. Their hearing, their sight, their brains, previously to this point, yes many babies are delivered and meet their milestones ect, but there are some who don't, there are some that do have issues that don't surface until later on as they grow, and that aside, having pre 30 week babies in the NICU for weeks and weeks currently must be, and is, torture. Especially at this time with covid.

You are in the golden time now, each day is lung maturity and fat putting on and they are completely developed other then that. I imagine they may start your steroids soon in case you go into natural labour? Not sure what the protocol is for you now moving forward. I know no one has a crystal ball, but I just feel like you are going to make it another 3/4 weeks. Are you being scanned tomorrow again? I'm freaking out a bit now too, I still seem to think I'm having one baby and have to keep remembering to say 'babies' or to imagine there being two....I can't comprehend it to be completely honest. It's a 'believe it when I see it' situation 😬.

I may be begging my consultant Thursday to take them out asap now myself,. I'll be 36 weeks tomorrow and my belly measures like 55 weeks or something like that so I am very ready to have these girls removed, god please let me not go into natural labour in the middle of the night this week 🙏

We can just take the days as they come can't we but I have been saying that silent prayer every time I turn my light off for bed, I just need to make it till Thursday

ChampooPapi · 26/10/2020 21:21

Also sorry my phone constantly changes 'if' to 'of'

FireflyGirl · 26/10/2020 23:45

Evening all. I don't have time to reply to all individual comments, sorry, but congratulations @SunnySideUp2020.

Have an exciting update for your list tomorrow, @ChampooPapi - baby Firefly was born at 1.22pm on Friday 23rd October at 38+4, weighing 7lb 1.5oz (sorry @AlviesMam and @BS9790). We haven't chosen a name yet, partly because she is the spitting image of her brother, who I was adamant looked like his name Grin

Will provide more details soon.

BS9790 · 26/10/2020 23:48

SunnySideUp2020 · 27/10/2020 06:11

@ChampooPapi
You were right about a baby this week 😁
I can't imagine how you and @MilsCookie feel now. 30weeks + X 2 that like 60 weeks at least! You are both doing amazing jobs. 🌈

AlviesMam · 27/10/2020 06:13

@ChampooPapi Thank you ❤️❤️ My Hospital doesn't allow women to go over 41 weeks so going to try and enquire about booking an induction before then just so I know it's booked and if I go into labour before then it will be a bonus! I'm so ready to meet her now xx

ChampooPapi · 27/10/2020 06:47

@SunnySideUp2020 yes the belly has gone beyond what is exceptable now, i will look back and laugh at it no doubt but currently it has taken on a life of its own!
