So sorry to hear about your dad @FireflyGirl . Sounds like it was very lucky you were there when you did.

My DS also went on a breastfeeding strike at 10/11 weeks and I persevered for a bit which was a hard 2 weeks but then moved to bottles. I didn't bother with a perfect prep machine though and didn't feel I needed one as I was always prepared with the next bottle however I might this time if second DS does the same with breastfeeding so early, or I simple can't keep up with his demand.

Our bathroom is finished ladies!! I can't tell you how nice it was last night to not have to go downstairs many times to go to the loo! Got another week before the doors and skirtings are getting put on and then it's just carpet. I feel like we're slowly getting there. Shame I'll have workers in the house on my first week of maternity leave.

@FireflyGirl sorry to hear about your dad. I hope he recovers soon. These things are so unpredictable and just come crashing when you least expect it. Very unfair. Hope you are ok yourself too now.

@TerribleImagination beautiful scan picture!!

MilsCookie · 29/08/2020 19:57

@FireflyGirl I'm not surprised you are. Must have been really scary to see that happening to your poor dad. Thank goodness you were there though and he was able to get immediate medical attention. Really hope he fully recovers soon and hope you're okay too xxx

Has anyone had some yellow thick discharge around 9 weeks?
Had them since yesterday. Looks like snot tbh...

Don't have any other symptoms but wondering if i need to get swabs in some hospital tomorrow or if it's normal?

I usually have a lot of white mucus discharge since pregnant but nothing this yellow ?

Now also imagining i see brown in it and started to imagine the worse...

FireflyGirl · 29/08/2020 20:17

Thanks for the well wishes everyone.

I'm getting very big and uncomfortable now, especially as a passenger in the car (although driving is uncomfortable too). It was so bad last night, I was googling Braxton Hicks. I didn't notice having BH with DS (although the websites say that I will have done).

I was getting lots of pressure down in my pelvis. Haven't had it at all today, though, so doubtful it was BH.

I had a 4D scan last week, which was lovely, although we had DS with us so DH still wasn't able to see her. She had a hand in front of her face the whole time, her other hand and/or a foot frequently, and there's a lot of the cord near her head too. And she is very wriggly!

She's head down, with her back on my right side, her bum sticking out just below my ribs, and her feet are generally kicking me just to the side of my belly button. Estimated weight was 3lb2, which at 29 weeks is pretty impressive.

I've got my fingers crossed she'll be impatient like DS and make an appearance mid-October and then I can dress her up for Halloween!

FireflyGirl · 29/08/2020 20:22

@SunnySideUp2020 I'd definitely give the midwife a call if it's unusual for you.

Your discharge does change in pregnancy, but best to rule out anything serious.

AlviesMam · 29/08/2020 20:30

This is the second week in a row I'm monitored for reduced movement, I get into a pattern then all of a sudden I have a day where she's quiet and I freak out. I have 9 weeks to go and feel at this rate I'm going to be ringing in every week, my anxiety is through the roof, I can't seem to be happy if I don't feel her I burst into tears, it spoils my day and I'm moody with everyone around me, as soon as I feel her my mood changes and I'm happy again.
I freak out going into assessment when they put the Doppler on and thinking about it makes me not want to go in but ofcourse I do. She's kicking away now and the trace is perfect but I have 9 weeks left of this and I know it's going to happen again. They have moved my growth scan to Monday as its protocol with two reduced movements of more in two weeks, what if I'm like this every week????

AlviesMam · 29/08/2020 20:32

@FireflyGirl your baby's position is exactly the same as mine haha although I have a the placenta in the way xxx

@SunnySideUp2020 my discharge can look yellow sometimes. Get some swabs done to give you piece of mind though! Xx

BecsterG · 29/08/2020 20:53

@SunnySideUp2020 definitely get a swap done. I did in my first 12 weeks as I was worried I had a bacteria infection of some sort. I didn't and was told it was just my discharge changing. I hate pregnant discharge! 😩

BS9790 · 29/08/2020 20:56

@AlviesMam, midwife at hospital told me on Thursday that's lots of babies don't get a pattern until 32 weeks and that some never get one.
She told me as long as I feel movement everyday then it's OK.

I deffo don't have a pattern, yesterday was constant movement for about 14 hours, today I've had a handful of kicks and a few wiggles but not many and not til this evening. I agree it's so stressful and I find all my days are revolving around stressing over not feeling him move!

@FireflyGirl, My baby was also head down with back to the right, for weeks, but he's shifted yesterday and now I'm so uncomfortable... I swear he's gone diagonal?!!

BecsterG · 30/08/2020 06:50

I've also found that my baby doesn't really have a pattern. Some days I don't feel him move much until I sit down and relax after DS is in bed but I think I'm too busy to notice every movement unless it's a big one. It's such a hard thing but try not to worry. When you start to worry about it your baby moves less too which is annoying. So hard though. Good you're getting a scan to check everything though as better safe than sorry.

Oh @FireflyGirl so sorry to hear your news, what an awful shock. Thank goodness you were there with him, and a good job he got fully checked out I guess. I hope you and your family have a more peaceful few weeks. Its always such a shock like you say and the what ifs are awful but try not to rest on them for too long - much easier said than done.
@AlviesMam ah you poor thing, they really won't care though if you go in every week for the next 9 weeks - or twice a week for the next 9 weeks! That is what they are there for and they would much rather you be reassured than they miss something. I don't really have a pattern either, some days they are on the go all day and others very quiet. Initially they were very busy in the evenings but that seems to have changed to the morning now - which I inevitably miss if im busy at work! I love feeling them but like you I find it very stressful, I worry most days
We are going back into the office more next week which im partly looking forward to and partly dreading - really on the countdown now. The weeks are going fast now.
Great news on the bathroom @BecsterG I cant believe you've been having to go downstairs to the loo!! Which has now just occurred to me i will have to do if we EVER get ours booked in 😬😬
Think we chose a pram yesterday which feels momentous as I haven't bought anything at all yet. Just trying to decide whether to get the car seat which goes onto it too but I think it might be a waste of money as I probably wouldn't use it much - what do you non FTM think?

BecsterG · 30/08/2020 08:46

@Whiffle77 it was a nightmare but was only for 4 nights. Still going downstairs 3 times was tough! Ha ha

When my DS was a small baby I used the car seat in the wheels a lot for small trips. So if I was popping to the shopping centre for an hour or so for a coffee or whatever I'd put the seat on the wheels. He'd wake in that time and I'd feed him and then he'd fall asleep so it was easy to transfer back into the car. I'll be doing the same this time. Obviously just making sure they're not in the car seat for too long. If I was out for longer I transferred him into his pram.

This time I have the infant seat but also have the Joie 360 (DS is about to our grow it) which is from birth so would stay in the car but I'm going to use the infant seat for the first bit.

I couldn't sleep last night with worry so went for a check this morning.
The doctor couldn't see any sign of infection or thrush or uti.
Baby bean still had a nice heartbeat and measured 8w5 so caught up an additional day since last scan.
I don't know what causes this brownish- yellowish discharge as there was no bleeding either.
I feel reassured though... thanks for all your replies! It was the right thing to get checked out!

Ejb86 · 30/08/2020 09:33

@Whiffle77 we bought a multi stage car seat and my little boy has been in that since birth. We never used a car seat to attach to pram.

I'm now thinking that it might be easier to have the carry seat this time for baby #2 as I'll be dealing with 3 year old at the same time. Need to chat to dh about it.

Whiffle77 · 30/08/2020 10:38

Thanks @BecsterG and @Ejb86 I was thinking if this was my second it may be more useful, I think I'm more likely to walk most places rather than drive. If i drive it would probably end up over the 2 hours total anyway so would have to pop them in the pram. Thinking I might get a longer lasting car seat and then maybe buy one which adapts if I feel I need one once they are here.
Although still feels a bit too early to buy anything yet anyway so I don't know, got to bite the bullet at some point!!! 🙈
Glad all is OK @SunnySideUp2020

MilsCookie · 31/08/2020 19:06

Really glad everything was okay @SunnySideUp2020 ...not long to go till the 12 week mark now!!

How are you doing @scrumdiddly123?

Does anyone know if you can take magnesium during pregnancy to help with restless legs at night? I also wake up with cramp sometimes in my calves - it's horrible! I get restless legs anyway when I'm not pregnant but it's becoming more and more pronounced! 😣

scrumdiddly123 · 31/08/2020 19:27

Thanks for asking @MilsCookie.
I had a bleed yesterday 🙁 so absolutely terrified it’s gone wrong again and of course it’s bank holiday so my EPU is shut. I have phoned them and left a message so hoping they will get back to me tomorrow and hopefully scan me again. I don’t know how I’d cope with another loss 😢

AlviesMam · 31/08/2020 20:45

Another growth scan today. She's turned back breech so this explains my reduced movement at the weekend as her feet are now presenting and not kicking my ribs anymore.
9 weeks to go, what if she doesn't turn again. I've been advised to go on all fours to turn her?
I was asked if I had anyone tall in my family as her femurs are measuring on 76th centile lol. My sister is 6ft and husbands brother is 6ft me and husband are just average lol
Feel like with her long legs she might struggle to turn as she gets bigger. Really wanted a natural birth she's weighing 4lbs.

@MilsCookie restless legs are such a nightmare aren't they! It always happens as I get settled into bed. Hope they ease off for you. Hope your doing well? ❤️

@scrumdiddly123 ah no sorry to hear this, how many weeks are you? Easier said than done but try and keep calm. I've had two bleeds with this pregnancy and all turned out ok, keep us updated we're here for you xxx

Ejb86 · 31/08/2020 21:02

@AlviesMam. My little boy was breech. So if she stays breech, they'll offer to try and turn her. Read up on it and decide whether you would be willing to take that option. We declined and booked in a section. Breech babies can be delivered naturally, but lots of midwives don't have a lot of experience in this apparently.

Ejb86 · 31/08/2020 21:03

@scrumdiddly123 I'm keeping everything crossed for you. Xx

AlviesMam · 31/08/2020 21:05

@Ejb86 I've heard horror stories about them turning the baby! I'd definitely go with a c section but had my heart set on a natural birth but I know everything doesn't go as planned 😫xxxx

MilsCookie · 31/08/2020 22:52

Oh @scrumdiddly123 this is not what you need after everything you've been through. I'm SURE everything will be okay, lots of women have bleeds throughout pregnancy. You've seen a heartbeat at a late stage and bean was measuring as they should. I have every faith in this little one for you. Sending hugs as I know you must be feeling really anxious right now 😘 we're here for you as @AlviesMam said. Please keep us updated 😘 xx

@AlviesMam restless legs are SO annoying. It's the same for me, always as I'm dropping off to sleep! Ahh your little girl likes to keep you on your toes doesn't she!! 🙈 I'm sure 9 weeks is plenty of time for her to turn around again but if she doesn't you still have options. Strange to think we might be having our babies at the same time because I've been told 32 weeks latest if things stay as they are, which is only 10 weeks away!! I always get to this point in the week where I feel okay after the previous scan, then the night before scan I feel super anxious and then usually feel down and depressed the day or two after the scan cos we always get more bad news!! I have another this weds at 9am and hoping the blood flow hasn't got worse in our smaller twin 🙏 xx

MrsB16 · 01/09/2020 06:47

Hi ladies sorry I have been so quiet I have had the most manic week with moving house but finally in and somewhat settled even if just enough for the baby to come. I can’t believe I’m actually classed as term now and she could come at any time! This is my last week of work so I’m hoping it goes quickly and then I can concentrate on getting the last bits ready for my girl!

Sorry to hear about your bleeding @scrumdiddly123, I hope the EPU get back to you this morning.

Good luck for your scan on Wednesday @MilsCookie will keep everything crossed for your littlest twin Flowers

BecsterG · 01/09/2020 11:19

@MrsB16 happy last week. It's my last week too. I finish on Thursday. It cannot come quick enough for me! I'll be 37 weeks on Saturday and I'm loaded with the cold. So rubbish. So pleased you're in a feeling settled. That's so good before the baby comes. You sound more organised than me and I've not just moved house! Ha ha

@scrumdiddly123 so sorry to hear about your bleed. I really hope everything's good and you get a scan ASAP.
