@scrumdiddly123 hope you get checked out soon and everything will be fine x
I know how stressful it must be. Sending hugs 💕

Leok83 · 01/09/2020 14:06

Hey everyone, Sorry I've dropped off chat for a bit recently so have only briefly caught up! My colleague had to leave work unexpectedly nearly 3 weeks ago and it will be over a month in total by time she's back because of quarantine. We work a 1:2 rota on call so I've had to take on double the work on top of the horrendous sickness, nausea and exhaustion! Have only had 1 day off in 4 weeks and I'm ready to keel over 😩! Sickness starting to ease slightly last couple days so hoping it might continue that way!! And I managed to get cover for this weekend so really looking forward to the break!

@scrumdiddly123 I'm so sorry to hear you've had a bleed. I hope you got see at EPU and all is ok today. Thinking of you. xx

@SunnySideUp2020 that's great your scan went well! When are you having another..are you waiting until the 12 weeks?

@FireflyGirl sorry about your Dad, terrible shock. Hope he's doing better now.

@MilsCookie best of luck for the next scan!

Had another scan today with DH there and everything looks great. It was a private scan and she said I'm measuring 6 days ahead so 11+5! So delighted with that but willl know if they'll move my date or not next Tuesday, she said they may not if it's within a week of original date. We also got to hear the heartbeat😊
Sooo close to the second trimester!

Hey ladies

@Scrumdiddly123 I added your 2 extra days
@SunnySideUp2020 I added 1 extra day
@Leok83 I added the 6 extra days

I think especially for @Leok83 your due date will change a little. Very good news about your scan 💜

Thinking of you @scrumdiddly123, I hope to see your update soon 🙏🥰

And I'll be thinking of you too @MilsCookie tomorrow 🤗

Thinking of you all as well in one way or another. Bit of a worry today for us at our 28 week scan as one twin has excess fluid which can be something or nothing. It's called Polyhydramnios, I've stayed away from Google obviously but I had a quick Mumsnet thread search when we got home (thank goodness for Mumsnet at these times). It gave me reassurece enough to get through the next ten days till they want to scan again. And diabetes test tomorrow so they have deployed the fetal medical unit people now. Pregnancy is an absolute mare right! 🤯

AlviesMam · 01/09/2020 17:12

Second Hollywood wax done two more to go!! 🙈😂

MilsCookie · 01/09/2020 17:43

@Leok83 that's absolutely brilliant news about your little bean! so so happy for you! Sorry to hear about work though... that just sounds horrible! Hope you're gonna get some time off soon?!

@ChampooPapi I've heard a lot about polyhydramnios because I think it's quite common in identical twins (just another thing to potentially worry about...!) but I've never read anything too serious about it, just that you have to monitored more closely? I know anything 'unusual' is worrying though (unfortunately I'm kind of used to it now!) so I'm sending big hugs! It's good that they're scanning you again soon to keep an eye on the girls. Hope the diabetes test goes well tomorrow!

@AlviesMam LOL Grin how was that?! You're brave... I've just gone for the au-natural look this pregnancy! DP was shaving his head last night and I got him to trim my bush a little bit hahahahaha - good job we could both laugh about it! Can't remember what my foof looks like anymore! Grin

MilsCookie · 01/09/2020 17:44

P.s. @MrsB16 so happy you're finally settled in your new home and ready for your baby's arrival! I am SO excited for the first baby on this thread to arrive!! I wonder if it will be you @BecsterG or maybe even @Zoey36?!

P.p.s. Have they still told you you'll go to 37 weeks @ChampooPapi ? When would that be for you?

FireflyGirl · 01/09/2020 18:12

Thanks for the updated list @ChampooPapi

Hope you're all settled in now @MrsB16

@AlviesMam have a look at the spinning babies website for tips on turning a breech baby.

I had a midwife appointment this morning and was measuring 4 weeks ahead, so was referred for an urgent growth scan this afternoon. All okay, thankfully, baby estimated at 4lb4, which is 72nd centile. They think it's just because I'm short and all bump - you can't even tell I'm pregnant from the back!

I also had a physio appointment about my pelvic girdle pain (back on crutches), so my busy day turned hectic. I've plonked myself in my nursing chair in the living room and am ordering the staff DH around to sort dinner Grin

ChampooPapi · 01/09/2020 20:29

@FireflyGirl sorry I've just been catching up too, I'm so sorry for what you've been going through. It has been so hard for you, and you have obviously been so brave and so strong, we are here for you ♥️♥️

scrumdiddly123 · 01/09/2020 20:51

Thank you all for the lovely messages, I have another scan booked in for Thursday morning. The bleeding was dark red when I wiped (just once) and then a bit of brown spotting since. Nothing on a pad. I still feel horrendously sick and sore boobs etc and had no pain. Trying to stay positive but also prepare myself that it might have gone wrong!
My first born is starting secondary school tomorrow so getting everything ready for that has been taking my mind off it so that’s good.
Thanks for updating me on the list @ChampooPapi
Lovely scan pic @Leok83! The work situation sounds awful though, hope you can get a break soon!

scrumdiddly123 · 01/09/2020 20:52

@AlviesMam my first was breech and I followed the tips on the spinning babies website. 11 years ago now but I think what turned him was scrubbing the kitchen floor on my hands and knees!

FireflyGirl · 01/09/2020 21:41

Hmmm @scrumdiddly123... are you secretly MrAlviesMam Hmm Wink

Keeping everything crossed for you for Thursday Flowers

scrumdiddly123 · 01/09/2020 21:59

@FireflyGirl 🤣🤣🤣 anything to avoid an ECV! Thank you xx

AlviesMam · 01/09/2020 23:22

@MilsCookie 😂😂😂😂 that made me laugh! It didn't hurt as much this time!
How was your spa break?

@FireflyGirl @scrumdiddly123 going to look at spinning babies. Midwife said to get on all fours each day to encourage her. Really hope she turns. I've got the positive birth app downloaded ready for a natural birth and wanted to sniff my essential oils through each contraction 😂😂 guess pregnancy never goes to plan!!!

@ChampooPapi aw no sorry to hear this. Good to stay away from google. Your in good hands so best to listen to the professionals with this! Grin

FireflyGirl · 02/09/2020 07:43

@AlviesMam the problem is, these babies don't read the birth plan. Or the baby books!

I wanted a water birth with DS. I spent about 3 hours in the birthing pool and didn't dilate a single centimetre further. I was in what they define as active labour for 18 hours, but they later found out DS was in an unfavourable position so there was no way he was coming out without help. My lovely relaxed birth plan ended in an EMCS...

I had really bad pains in the bottom of my bump all last night, so I called the hospital and they've booked me into the antenatal day unit first thing this morning. I'm pretty sure it's just Braxton Hicks (or constipation Blush), but best to get checked out!

ChampooPapi · 02/09/2020 08:17

Thanks @AlviesMam, the test today is to eliminate gestational diabetes, though they know it isn't because it would effect both twins so it's really just a box ticking exercise (a very quease inducing box ticking exercise!). I'm going to be starving by the end of it!. They do infection blood tests too so off now to be a human pin cushion, though something very reassuring about waiting round in a hospital waiting room for half the day, being so close to all the medical people is calming when your worried about your pregnancy, so not bothered about being over at the hospital today. Relieved I had the nipt test otherwise my mind would be jumping to all sorts of sinister conclusions. Mumsnet gave me a lot of info on that way back when, this place is pretty bloody excellent isn't it 💜

FireflyGirl · 02/09/2020 08:30

We're all with you today @ChampooPapi hugs

ChampooPapi · 02/09/2020 09:30

That means a lot @FireflyGirl , especially after everything you have been through, I'm sure it's all fine my end, but it is a lonely place when you are worried about your pregnancy and it feels lovely to have you say that today to me 🥰

ChampooPapi · 02/09/2020 09:48

@FireflyGirl guessing your in hospital as well by now, hopefully you'll be seen fairly quickly, keep us updated

SunnySideUp2020 · 02/09/2020 11:02

@ChampooPapi i confirm we are all with you.
Hope all goes well today for you 💓💓

SunnySideUp2020 · 02/09/2020 11:03

@Leok83 that's amazing news your little baby is growing so big so quickly !!! What a superb scan picture as well 😍

MilsCookie · 02/09/2020 12:34

Hope it all goes okay for you today @ChampooPapi we're definitely with you! And @FireflyGirl let us know how you get on 😘

@scrumdiddly123 how are you today? Hope the bleeding has gone away. Will be thinking of you tomorrow and holding your hand 😘

@AlviesMam Ahhh the spa break was lovely thank you!! Can't even tell you how amazing it was to be in a swimming pool - I just felt weightless!

So we had some actual "positive" news today for once!! Our smaller twin's blood flow was pretty much positive again on the doppler today. She did it a few times at the beginning and end and she said she couldn't see anything that looked worrying. We've also made it to 22 weeks without any signs of TTTS which is the thing I'm most worried about! I read that the chances of developing it are highest between 16-26 weeks so we have another 4 weeks to go until we can relax a bit more about that. But yes - today was as good as it could be! Both girls growing well on their own curves, still a 22% size discordance and still type 3 sIUGR (and still the same worry about the genetic disorder) BUT our littlest's blood flow hasn't got any worse and in fact looked better today so I'm just going to enjoy this positive moment! 😊

Still have to be scanned weekly to monitor. My MIL is coming to my next scan as DP can't come with me and she's really irritating me at the moment 🙈 I feel bad saying that but I'm so done living with the in laws! 😬

Whiffle77 · 02/09/2020 13:23

Sorry to hear there are a few babies worrying people at the minute - good luck today @ChampooPapi and @FireflyGirl. I hope you are OK too @scrumdiddly123

Great to hear you have had a more positive week though @MilsCookie!

I'm hibernating a bit at the min as my due date from my MC is coming up and I still feel pants. My bump is really achy too and I'm sleeping badly so just an all round grump! Hopefully catch up with you all more soon.

Whiffle77 · 02/09/2020 13:26

P.s. @MilsCookie I think being irritated is natural, I never would've lasted this long living with my in laws! Pr in fact anyone else!! Not long to go now...

FireflyGirl · 02/09/2020 16:43

I think that's understandable @MilsCookie! Glad you've had a bit of good news today!

Flowers @Whiffle77. Understandable 💞

I ended up spending just over 4 hours in the antenatal day unit from 8.30am. I was there an hour and a half before they even saw me!

They put me on the monitor for about an hour, then asked when was the last time I ate/drank. It was about 11am by then - I had a gulp of water when I got up, but hadn't bothered with breakfast. The nurse wanted to send me to the cafe to get a drink and some food, but luckily I'd grabbed my water bottle and some fruit on the way out of the house so I ate it while I was hooked up. Otherwise I probably would have been there even longer!!

Movement is fine and no contractions to indicate early labour, so they've taken a swab to check for infection and I've been told to just take paracetamol.

Hope everyone else has equally good news!
