@BntTowers @Spark27 everyone thinks they know best, my sister is evangelical about not bfing! All hers were formula fed and slept a good 6-7 hour stretch at night by the time they were 8 weeks old. I'm not saying they weren't happy well fed babies, but it's not the most important thing to me for LO to sleep through the night in the first 8 weeks! If I can establish bfing I'll be thrilled, and hopeful I will be able to combi feed so DH can have some bonding time over some milk, then establish good routine for baby after a few months. Her youngest is 13 now and she's very dismissive of a lot of new advice, like not keeping them in car seats too long etc. Its hard to get the balance of listening to experience and listening to actual current research! I'm quite a defiant person by nature too, so that doesn't help, haha.
@MummyBearBoo I'm just bringing water wipes. I've seen how ineffective cotton wool is for those first black tar poos! I think the notion you're "not allowed" anything but cotton wool and water is ridiculous, that's one of those new rules I will be disregarding!
Went for my fortnightly growth scan / diabetic team check up on Tuesday, OB estimated baby at 6lb 7 at 33 + 4
that's the biggest jump yet in a fortnight, most times it's around 1lb, but this time its 1lb 7oz on... I'm hoping it's not too accurate, as she's almost outgrown some of the first size babygrows I bought her. Thank goodness I only bought three!
Got info about breech baby in case she doesn't turn, and shoulder dystocia in case she does, feels like a bit of a lose lose situation, but if she doesn't turn and I go for ELCS then the risk is on me, not baby, so I'm still torn about benefits of vaginal vs risks. Next appointment is at 35+5 so hopeful for more clarity then. Been watching One Born Every Minute with OH but just feel like I'm not going to get one of those births, no MLU at my local hospital and due to my risk factors I wouldn't be on one anyway.
