Hi @Indigogirl88 that must have been stressful for you but glad all is ok. Take it easy and work will be over before you know it, the last couple of weeks flew by for me. Not long and baby will be here ☺️

MummyBearBoo · 28/08/2020 08:58

Glad everything is ok @Indigogirl88!

They like to keep us on our toes don't they!

Baby was relatively quiet for her yesterday as in she usually moves all day and a lot of the night but after a very active morning she was fairly quiet in the afternoon and evening but she's wriggling around lots this morning and overnight too!!
Struggling walking with SPD! !

Carpal tunnel sounds awful hope it improves soon! Xxx

Indigogirl88 · 28/08/2020 09:32

Thank you! Aparently won't improve till a few weeks after the birth.

Everyone packed and ready? I've got a couple of things I want to get in, nothing too detrimental if I didn't bother

CharlieBalf · 28/08/2020 10:30

Reduced movement is so scary, hope the monitoring goes well @Indigogirl88 x

Hubster and I have both come down with fierce colds and feel rough. Can't sleep for the wheezing and sneezing. Baby seems OK though.
Ordered the last bits yesterday including £250 worth of reusable nappies... Hope I get on with them!

Spark27 · 28/08/2020 10:57

Pleased everything is ok with the baby @Indigogirl88. These babies like to mess us around. Whenever I cant feel her I'm worried as to if shes ok, then when shes kicking off I'm wishing she'd stop 😅. She did a massive stretch at about 0200 and hit my rib so hard it made me yell out. So painful and made me feel sick.

I've packed all for baby's bag (apart for some formula just in case, but its turning up next week), I just need to finish mine, but its stuff I cant really do til the last minute- clothes (still wearing them), electronics, notes, etc. Microfiber towel turned up and saves so much space, so yay.

Spark27 · 28/08/2020 11:01

Hope you feel better soon @CharlieBalf. It's so difficult when you cant take all the normal stuff. DD gave me a cold a while ago and I survived on paracetamol and homemade hot lemon and honey drinks (its was just missing the whiskey!) Sterimar is really good for helping to clear the nose too x

otterbaby · 28/08/2020 17:28

@BntTowers happy belated, hope you had a lovely day!

@Indigogirl88 oh no, how stressful! Glad baby's all okay. I get so stressy over movements sometimes, they can be little buggers!

@CharlieBalf ooo you'll have to let us know how you get on with the reusables...we have reusable wipes but I've only bought 3 reusable nappies. I've not decided if I want to give them a proper go yet or not. They seem complicated with all of the different bits you need!

I know there are lots of ladies on here struggling with sciatica/back pain...has anyone actually been referred to physio or found anything that provides relief? The last two days I very suddenly have the most severe shooting pain constantly down the lower left side of my back...I'm basically crawling up and down the stairs. It's horrendous. I'm guessing at this point, the only thing to do is wait until baby is here?!

CharlieBalf · 28/08/2020 18:15

@otterbaby I'm taking the plunge with the reusables, getting a few of three different types to test them but I'll keep you posted! Got a few weeks to practise on a teddy bear 😂

Lemon and honey sounds like a plan.... Or a vicks bowl or a big sleep 😂

LexiM · 28/08/2020 18:22

@BntTowers hope you had a lovely birthday.

@Indigogirl88 glad everything is ok with you and baby. Cant have you being relaxed for long can they!

@CharlieBalf which resusables did you go for? I will probably give some a go but realistically not when hes tiny so I'm waiting to get some. Too many options for an indecisive person like me. I have also gone for reusable wipes, I've only got 2 packs of normal wipes so hope I like them. Hope you feel better soon too.

@otterbaby hope the pain eases soon, i cant be of any help I'm afraid as I've been lucky to mainly avoid that type of thing, although I'm very aware theres still time yet for everything!

My mum very kindly got us a mattress for the main cot and bedding, so I had to put it on for this photo. The second is 2 minutes later and the usual situation. As you can see I've avoided the rest of the room!! We are currently just shuffling things place to place trying to avoid having much downstairs until we are using it all. The cat wasted no time in taking back his cot 😂

CharlieBalf · 28/08/2020 18:42

@lexiM that cot looks irresistible for cats!

Nappy wise, I've gone for the Little lamb system for night time (the bamboo nappy and separate wrap) and for day time I have a selection of AIOs (all in ones) Totsbots, Thirsties and Miosolo. Thought that those are closer to the disposable kind so husband and mil can cope.
Oh, and we also ordered a tumble dryer 😂

BettyBotter1 · 28/08/2020 18:54

@LexiM aw that looks so beautiful! And cat is looking happily possessive there too. All these cats are in for a rude awakening. mine will sit on my bump, baby will move and no reaction, I think they have no idea what's coming 😂
Belated happy birthday @BntTowers, hope you had a fun day.
I've had a really odd dry scratchy sore throat but I think it could be due to frequent acid reflux?
@Indigogirl88 glad all is well with baby but sorry to hear carpal tunnel so bad. Roll on next 3 weeks for you so work is over.
@otterbaby that sounds awful, I hope it improves. My back has been loads better since I haven't had to sit in an office chair, but I don't think it was sciatica.
My bag is packed except for things that I'm still using. I've made a start washing baby things so I can get her bag packed. The snack bag is sorted!
My moses basket matress, cellular blanket and baby towel tuned up today, so cute 😍

BettyBotter1 · 28/08/2020 18:56

@charlieBalf yes let us know how you go with the nappies and which ones you went for. There are so many brands and types its completely overwhelming. I'm lucky I can rent some for first 3 months so should get to try different ones. Hope you feel better soon

blankiesandunicorns · 28/08/2020 19:52

Baby had a quieter day today, had my tea and sat down and had lots of movements so feeling a bit better. Think if she didn't reassure me I would've rang the midwives but she's really active now. Had awful diarrhoea as well (sorry TMI) going to make sure I drink plenty and get an early night.

Lovely cot @LexiM and your cat looks pleased with him/herself ☺️

BntTowers · 28/08/2020 21:17

Thanks for all the birthday wishes. I think part way into third trimester is too late to have a birthday. DH keeps asking what I want to do, all I want is to sleep and eat ice cream! Think he's feeling guilty that for his 30th we went to Rome and we can't do anything like that this year. I really don't feel up to doing much.
Seeing my mum was nice even though the BBQ was rained off. The wildlife park was a wash out today, we've been given a free pass for another time as the rain was torrential! Had a quick walk round it and saw this... Glad I'm not a pregnant wallaby! I have a pregnancy massage booked in for tomorrow which I'm very much looking forward to.

@LexiM the cat looks like it knows the best spot, as always.

I have had a phone consultation with a physio and she gave some tips like doing mini squats and a exercise called the clam. I also folded a pillow in half and with the fold to the front edge of the chair sit on that whilst working (that seems to have helped a lot), before standing up from a chair or moving in bed to rock hips backwards and forward to ease a bit of the stiffness. Honestly I think the thing that has helped my back most is going out for 3 walks a day because of the gd.

@CharlieBalf I've ordered some from little lamb too, but I think I'm starting with disposal to move onto reusable. Will see how I get on with little lamb and then look to see what else I might need. I also have the cheeky wipes to use. I ended up getting a free packet of biodigradable wipes which I may take to hospital to use as well as the suggested cotton wool balls.

I think my belly button is about to pop in the next few days. It looks so weird.

BntTowers · 28/08/2020 21:22

Forgot to add the wallaby photo! Such bad pregnancy brain ATM!

Quiffy · 29/08/2020 07:18

@LexiM that is super cute - as is your gorgeous cat

Indigogirl88 · 29/08/2020 07:47

Morning ladies! Treating myself today to a hair cut, cant decide whether to go full mum cut yet or keep my hair long for a while 🤔

Spark27 · 29/08/2020 07:50

We're looking at a couple of houses today. We had ours valued yesterday and are looking to take advantage of the stamp duty freeze (perfect timing hey 🙈) But I'm excited to be looking.

DH is out with a few mates tonight, and staying out. It's his last big booze session before baby. Im 36w on Sunday and said he could go out up to 37w, but this is when he could fit it in. I'm hoping DD behaves so I can have a chilled night watching trash TV, eating ice cream and sleeping across the whole bed (if I cant sleep I'm going to be so cross).

Sorting out the nursery sounds like so much fun xx

blankiesandunicorns · 29/08/2020 08:10

@Spark27 exciting about the house hunting! Hope you have a nice relaxed evening and your DH doesn't get into the same state as mine did at a wedding last weekend (legless!)

CharlieBalf · 29/08/2020 10:59

@spark27 oh I really hope your evening works out! Sounds like bliss.

@Quiffy yeah, cold is really kicking my arse about now 😭 Sleeping is tough anyway with SPD but now I'm wheezing.... Its really hard to prop yourself up but sleep on your side!

@BntTowers a friend gave us some size 1 eco nappies that she didn't use so we'll use those until they run out. I think while they are very little the cloth nappies can be a little big.

Zaalfruit · 29/08/2020 12:36

Ohh hey everyone !! ( just catching up on everything )

I’m on the team I have a cold and everything feels sucky about it :( Got a headache and trying to get better before Tuesday as I have a midwife appointment and scan then .

@Spark27 happy house hunting , deffo take advantage of the stamp duty freeze !

@BntTowers sorry a bit bleated - but happy birthday - hope you had a great 30th . CakeFlowers

( Question - is anyone going to be wearing a belly band after pregnancy- do they help ? Just feel so big and worried I will have lots of saggy belly left that will have to be tucked into my knickers - sorry I know horrible picture - but I can’t stop thinking that will happen )

Treacle81 · 29/08/2020 16:20

Hey girls, finally got round to washing baby clothes ✅. Defo lost some mucus plug last night, was exactly how people have described it. Between that and very crampy, noisy tummy and the runs for three days, think things are progressing 🤔. Happy House hunting @Spark27 and nursery looking fab so far @Quiffy. Walked around beach with my mum yesterday so feeling knackered today, just chilling. Want to deep clean flat but just can't clean like I used to and it's getting to me. Hope you are all having a good wknd xx

Treaclepie19 · 29/08/2020 17:07

Good work @Treacle81!
I've had a dodgy tummy for two weeks now. Driving me nuts.
I'm also annoyed with the state of the house. Considering getting a deep clean if we can find the money.

Hope you had a lovely birthday @bntTowers!

Sorry you're not well @CharlieBalf 😔
I'm feeling a bit off with achey head and ears and really hoping it doesn't develop.

I have a feeling time is about to start speeding up for me as it's our 4yos birthday Wednesday and he starts school!
Then I'm hoping to get the house sorted 🤞

OP posts:
MrsK89 · 29/08/2020 17:08

Oooo exciting @Treacle81 I keep checking for any signs, but still only getting irregular tightenings, which is something I guess!

@BntTowers how did the pregnancy massage go?

BntTowers · 29/08/2020 20:33

@MrsK89 it was good, although I think she put a bit too much pressure on my lower back and now I ache, but I also think I pushed myself a bit hard this afternoon doing lots.

I'm sorry to see so many people have colds coming on. I hope you are all feeling a bit better tomorrow. I've had a dodgy tummy since yesterday but I think it's the Metformin and hopefully it will settle a bit in a few days.

@Spark27 how did the house viewings go? I hope you are managing to get your quiet evening.

@Quiffy it's so good when the nursery gets done, that currently the only room in our house finished (after moving in late last year) and I love sitting in there.

We have a social distance picnic to go to to meet the other NCT couples tomorrow which I'm looking forward to. I think the forecast is set to be dry hopefully. Somebody suggested taking picnic blankets, I said we will be taking camping chairs as I don't fancy being hauled up off the floor. Can you imaging the scene, a local park with 7 heavily pregnant women being yanked back up to a standing position by their other halves.
