Who is due first then ladies can't wait to see baby pics if you're ok to share!!! Xx

CharlieBalf · 12/09/2020 08:54

I'm due on the 5th, being swept on 30th 😊😳💛

MrsD1990 · 12/09/2020 09:18

@ferntwist welcome! Of course you can join, this has been a great support network for me throughout pregnancy. Looking forward to hearing from you!

@SkyBlue20 thanks, I can't believe I'm finally in mat leave. Feels so weird! Got a weekend of baby prep and DIY planned but think we'll have a pub lunch tomorrow so we do something nice this weekend.. hope you have a lovely weekend planned too!

Girls I'm 37 weeks today!!!! So happy. I can feel little baby moving around in there right now 😊 this is the mile stone I've been praying for the most so I'm over the moon.

NWnature · 12/09/2020 09:30

Ahh congrats @MrsD1990 I’m one week behind you and can also feel baby right now (rare for me as this anterior placenta has been bane of my life!)

I love the name suggestions so far. We are also team yellow and also really struggling. In a way I’d like to have it sorted so when DH tells me if it’s a boy/ girl we know then and there but I just don’t have a strong feeling on any of ours yet. I think I mentioned Robin/ Robyn (nn Bobby is sweet) the other truly neutral one I like is River but don’t known if it’s too “out there”. My husband likes Betty which is a family name, I like Ruby. We also had Lola, iris, grace for girls and frank, Harry and Arthur for boys. It’s SO hard, I struggled enough with the cats let alone naming a human 😂

Hope everyone has a lovely chilled weekend. I have started hospital bags finally. Baby one is pretty much sorted but could probably do with some downsizing. I am hoping to get to M&S / primark and boots once on mat leave from 25 sept for the final bits and pieces for my bag like PJs etc

HerondaleDucks · 12/09/2020 09:32

@MrsD1990 I'm 37 weeks today as well.

I've woken up with dull cramp in my lower left part of my belly.
At this stage not sure if it's baby causing mischief or those pesky braxton hicks again.

I'm due 4th October, I'm on my 3 week countdown (hopefully) I don't think I can bear the idea of being overdue... want baby to come now!

Spark27 · 12/09/2020 09:42

Hi @ferntwist, welcome to the group x

I'm going to be 38w tomorrow and am due the 27th Sep. Expecting to go the full 40w and probably over, well, mentally preparing myself for it. DD was born at 38+4 but that was an induction due to reduced movements so I have no idea what my body will do naturally. Really nervous to go into labour naturally as I have no idea what to expect. Finished work last week and feel like I'd like a few weeks before baby comes. Last time I finished at 38w and only got a day before I was in the hospital.

Going to look at another house today, want to keep our options open incase we lose the one we offered on. DD is staying over at my mums tonight. First night since Feb. I can. Not. Wait xx

Treacle81 · 12/09/2020 09:46

Morning girls! @otterbaby 1/5 is fully engaged!! 💃 @ferntwist welcome, this has been great for us all so I hope you benefit from it- we are a friendly, chatty lot 😊 happy full term day to those who are 37 weeks today 🎉 what a milestone! Also due on the 5th and getting sweep on 1st. @SkyBlue20 Thank you, hope you are doing well xx

Quiffy · 12/09/2020 11:11

@BntTowers leggings are definitely life right now. Comfier than anything else and the support helps bump pain a bit. Think I'll be in my maternity ones for awhile after 😹 one day left at work now woop!! Screw the 1-2weeks more

@Spark27 I don't blame you crying over that at all, sounds very stressful :( hopefully more viewings soon

I've also got a boots flu jab booked, it's the 25th I think so might have to cancel but shall see!

@Treacle81 exciting on fully engaged!

@BntTowers @justanothermamma @CharlieBalf @NWnature all those names are lovely ❤️

@ferntwist welcome and congrats! Not long now

@MrsD1990 @herondaleducks happy 37 weeks!!

I'm currently watching DH build the Snuzpod 😻 exciting and scary at same time. I still need to finish hospital bag but I'm having this morning off as my friends are throwing me a mini baby shower this afternoon. I think this will be the first time I've worn make up in months so not sure I can remember how 😅😅 lucky on the date too as the new lockdown rules are Monday. Not seen them since I told them at 9 weeks, feeling anxious as I feel like a whale 🙀

CharlieBalf · 12/09/2020 11:30

@Quiffy I had to go to a birthday bbq about a week ago... First time makeup in seven months for me and boy oh boy did my eyes itch after a few hours 😂 Felt So good taking it off. Have fun at the shower, make the most of it!

Ive been in leggings since week 28. No shame, comfort all the way! I've got a couple of long cardis for after the birth to cover up in too.

blankiesandunicorns · 12/09/2020 12:42

@NWnature my DDs name is Robyn! I still love it as much as I did when am we named her it and we call her Bobby sometimes. And it's not too popular, not around where I am anyway which I like.

blankiesandunicorns · 12/09/2020 12:46

Welcome @ferntwist of course you can join!

Love the baby name talk. My husband had agreed to Marnie now so likely baby will be Marnie or Maeve. Stuck for middle names though, we have a long surname (3 syllables) so feel like a 1 syllable middle name would sound best. Any ideas throw them my way!

Treacle81 · 12/09/2020 13:15

@Quiffy we were going to put the snuzpod up this wknd but partner has a rotten cold so gonna hold off till next wknd, was it easy enough? We are back in lockdown from midnight last night, so no one allowed in my home and I'm not allowed in theirs. 8 finish up work Friday and planning on lunch with a few friends so hope that can still happy. Hope you gave a great baby shower 💃🎉👶🏼🍼. @blankiesandunicorns they are lovely names, Marnie Mae sounds cute ☺️or Marnie Eve. Fingers crossed for you @Spark27 🤞 xx

LexiM · 12/09/2020 14:16

Happy weekend everyone!

Typically I booked my flu jab at boots thinking it could be too late and the doctors and they've text to say they are doing a big clinic next weekend. Think I will keep my booking at boots as it's for a specific time rather than waiting for a period of time over an hour with the doctors clinic ones.

@Treacle81 how exciting with the head engaged, hopefully baby wont keep you waiting too long! I had thought 5/5 would mean fully engaged but it's the opposite 0/5 is. I read yesterday it's the proportion if head the midwives can still gauge, so 0/5 means it's right down there. My notes said 2/5, let's hope he doesn't move.

@justanothermamma and @blankiesandunicorns Maeve was our top for a girl (having a boy) we loved it. We felt it was a name that wouldnt really be shortened unless you really thought of one and used it.

@ferntwist welcome to the group, never too late to join!

@NWnature I love all your name, would find it hard to choose from them. I adore River.

@Spark27 enjoy your house viewing today, hope you manage to find some potential back ups.

@Quiffy enjoy your baby shower, I'm sure it will be lovely. Also so exciting putting the crib together. Feels so real now!

At work we do an annual show which was cancelled and should have been today. Feels weird to not be getting up at 4am today (although I was awake!!) and not having a really busy week but my body is quite relieved!! Last night we had a small dinner, my final meet up with everyone before I go on maternity. I was pleased with how safe it was, tables spaced and people not coming too close!!
It was lovely and I enjoyed seeing everyone, some hadn't seen me since before I was pregnant. Everyone was so kind saying I was looking well, I said it was definitely because I wasnt working haha. I stayed out too late though, had a massive lie in this morning, I literally dont go out in the evening now so my body was like what is this!

blankiesandunicorns · 12/09/2020 14:31

@Treacle81 I had thought of Marnie Mae actually I quite like that! And I love Marnie Eve but I can't have it unfortunately 😒 but def think the one syllable middle names sound better with our surname.

Hope everyone's enjoying this sunshine although Tuesday is forecasted as 29 degrees here which I think might be a bit uncomfortable!

BntTowers · 12/09/2020 14:46

I love all these names, I really like Robyn for a girl and I would have pushed really hard for it, but DH has a still born brother who was called Robert so I think it would be a little close to that.

We collected our car seat and or today. All set up now and I'm surprised how much more relaxed I'm feeling knowing we can definitely get baby home from hospital if they do arrive early.

@Quiffy enjoy your shower, it sounds lovely.

@Spark27 good luck with the house viewing.

@LexiM sounds like you had a good night, take all the lies ins that are available at the moment!

@ferntwist welcome to the group, we are a friendly bunch.

@Mrsd1990 @herondaleducks things are just around the corner now with you both being 37 weeks. Maybe a baby or two will be born when we are still on this thread!

Treaclepie19 · 12/09/2020 16:27

@blankiesandunicorns Marnie Lee/Leigh (my middle name is Lee so a bit biased)
Also May... Rose? Quinn? Faye?

I'm meant to be having my flu jab Monday. My ds and dh have colds. Not got the main 3 covid symptoms so no testing going on (ds has one or two coughs in the morning and then nothing all day) and I think I may be getting it but only very mildly so far. Do I rearrange my flu jab?!

I have an online baby shower being organised for me on Monday and I'm so excited 😊
Will be 37 weeks on Wednesday and ds1 arrived at 37+4 so I'm getting impatient 😂 Despite the house not being ready.

justanothermamma · 12/09/2020 17:15

@blankiesandunicorns Maeve and Marnie were on our list with Esther, Agnes and Rosie too! We were down to Esther and Maeve but one of my DDs middle names is May (she has two) so I was worried Maeve would be shortened to the same! I love your name choices! Both are gorgeous, Marnie is so beautiful, my DH wasn't as keen as me! Middle names are a hard one, we went for family member names (who aren't with us now), any of those you could use?

Went to my best friends for a catch up today and she had organised a mini shower with my closest friends and Mum, so cute! I never had a baby shower last time either so it was so special. We all have kids the same age too so all the toddlers got to play together while we all caught up. So scary to think next time I'm likely to see them I'll have another baby!

ferntwist · 12/09/2020 19:47

Hello everyone and thank you so much for the welcome.

Love the name Marnie @blankiesandunicorns and River is fab @NWnature. Your other choices are great too

HerondaleDucks · 12/09/2020 20:31

I had a surprise baby shower today! Totally unexpected and I was so surprised. I got really emotional. I thought I didn't want one because they are grabby but actually it was just so lovely that people came. It was at DH work so at a farm so everyone could socially distance... and pet the animals.
I got some really thoughtful gifts, one of my old friends had crocheted a baby blanket and it's so beautiful.

I even treated myself to a cupcake and it didn't throw my sugars in the air. So bonus there.

My DH made me think we were going to the pub for lunch lol. It's his birthday tomorrow so I was so confused when we got there and I was like have you organised a surprise party for yourself? Lol turns out it was for me!

They did a game where they guessed the size of my bump, totally gratified that it was way smaller than most of them guessed lol!

Love the name Marnie. Beautiful.

MrsK89 · 12/09/2020 20:50

@HerondaleDucks aww sounds lovely and you look amazing, glad you had a nice time

@ferntwist welcome! How are you feeling?

Has anyone heard of or previously tried witch Hazel on pads after birth?

Loving all the names by the way ❤️
I have been living in leggings, deffo feel more supported, bump wise!

Indigogirl88 · 13/09/2020 07:29

@HerondaleDucks wow that's amazing well done! I tried the other day and my boobs hurt as well so stopped

@ferntwist welcome, hows the pregnancy gone for you?

Sorry ive been awol yet again for a week or so, just finishing up at work and soooo incredibly tired i can't muster any energy for much these days.

I've had an awful time with my carpal tunnel and even writing this is causing a lot of pain which is no excuse for not writing!

I hope everyone's OK

37 weeks Tuesday measuring ok but a little big

Love the old fashioned names, we have gone for an old one but not 100% decided

House still has things to do but overall we're ready Grin

Whos next i wonder?? Xx

Treacle81 · 13/09/2020 07:57

Morning girls ah yes @LexiM, got carried away lol 0/5 is full engaged, you a very close then @otterbaby! I'm c9ndosed as although mw told me fully engaged, tight tummy muscles etc she's put 9n my notes not engaged. Also just remembered I was supposed to get swab for Group Strep B and never-- terribly memory just now but she should have known! Not v happy so I'll need to call and get in before my next booked appointment now! That's another FG girl had her baby, think that's the 7th!! He was 4 weeks early but looks to be in perfect health. These babies just aren't for waiting it seems!! @MrsK89 I ha e heard of people going that and putting pads in freezer etc xx

Treacle81 · 13/09/2020 07:59

@Indigogirl88 I've not been as bad as you but certainly getting CT at times which makes my fingers and wrists stiff and painful - hopefully it'll get better when finish work on Fri and not typing at computer. My friend had it all the way through and it left when baby came 😊xx

BettyBotter1 · 13/09/2020 08:12

Lovely sounding celebrations with those having baby showers, enjoy!! People are so generous aren't they? We've had so many thoughtful gifts and it makes you feel loved 😊
Well done on the car seat @BntTowers I felt so much more relaxed for getting that done too.
That's exciting you're so close to the same time you had DS @Treaclepie19 it sounds like you could well be first!
Loving all the name chat. We've also picked an old-fashioned name. It's a bit marmite but I'm hoping people respond positively. I also love nature names and River is one of my favourites.
I wish my MW would've given me a number for how engaged baby's head is too, she just said it's in my brim whatever that means? and when she pressed to feel it I got that shooting pain again 🤷‍♀️
@ferntwist welcome 🙂

Indigogirl88 · 13/09/2020 08:49
