@ lol, maybe they'd like you to work while you're in labour too, are these ppl who haven't had babies?!
@MrsK89 good point, I'm guessing our family are taking those bets too! They already took them at our wedding on when we'd get pregnant
@Quiffy and @Treaclepie19 I'm with you, any small task seems mammoth and when I stand up I just feel the pressure that must be her head.
My tasks today are to walk 5 mins to local shop and buy some food and put the hoover round. Roll on finishing work for those of you still working, don't know how you're doing it.

BettyBotter1 · 11/09/2020 11:39

@Spark27 urg that's more than enough reason to cry, sending you a hug

otterbaby · 11/09/2020 12:25

Is anyone getting the flu jab before babies arrive? I've been seeing loads about it...

@Spark27 that is frustrating ☹️ that's such a stressful thing to deal with this far on.

@BntTowers another week or two?! Some people are just delusional. You're nearly finished though!

LexiM · 11/09/2020 12:39

Had my scan today, baby is absolutely fine. He has turned to head down and growth chart put him back where he was previously. Estimated 6lb 9 at the moment and 8-9lbs at birth, which for our family is average haha. They were using a new system and my gosh the picture was so clear, I could see his little face and his hair, he has plenty of it! I've had no heartburn so knew that was a myth, we thought he would have hair as we all had loads.

@otterbaby I've booked a flu jab at boots for 37 weeks. I decided in worst case scenario I wouldnt want flu and Covid at the same time, hopefully that wouldnt happen anyway. I know it's hard to book them now as spaces are filling up.

@Spark27 how annoying about the house, I dont understand why people do that unless an emergency to cancel.

I agree about mammoth tasks too... everything is an effort now and if it drops on the floor it can stay there!

BettyBotter1 · 11/09/2020 12:42

@otterbaby I asked on Tuesday if the flu jab was available yet as was told not til oct beginning with the elderly and most vulnerable and as I'll be delivered by then I won't get it. I guess that means if we want to have it we can pay for it?

otterbaby · 11/09/2020 12:59

@LexiM aww that's lovely 😊 amazing that you could see hair! It's so amazing to see them this far on, ours was hiding at my scan on Tuesday but you could see one tiny chubby cheek!

I've just booked one at boots but the earliest appt was the 29th so I'll be 39 weeks. May go into labour before then but you never know @BettyBotter1 if you really want it, you'll probably still have a bit of a baby bump right after baby arrives so you could probably blag it if you just go to boots or something 😂

Treaclepie19 · 11/09/2020 13:01

I've got a flu jab booked for Monday at my doctors surgery.

So glad your scan went well @LexiM 😊

BntTowers · 11/09/2020 14:01

It was mostly men in the meeting and they can be a bit like that anyway. I am really struggling to concentrate on anything work related.

I've just booked myself a flu jab at boots for Tuesday, my doctor's always seem really slow to do anything so might as well get it sorted myself.

MrsK89 · 11/09/2020 15:38

@LexiM aww glad scan went well ❤️
I've got another scan next week and been told if cramps get any worse to come back in. Apart from that my bile acids have gone up, but I've already got an induction date so I doubt they'll bring it forward as it's only 2 weeks away.
Eeeek. Some sharp pains down there, think baby is settling her head right in my groin lol.

Re flu jab our gp are not doing them till late October so pointless for me

bluemoon2468 · 11/09/2020 16:53

I've just booked my flu jab at Boots. Earliest appt I could get is when I'm 39+3 so potentially will end up missing it, but it's worth a try!

Treacle81 · 11/09/2020 17:10

Hi girls! Had my mw appointment and I'm fully engaged! She said that isn't common for 2nd baby but I have good tummy muscles keeping him in place apparently. Prob be breach tomorrow 😂 I actually had a contraction on the bed after she measured bump. She's happy to sweep me at next appt when I'll be 39+3. It would be nice to have him that day the 1st as my other son was born on the 1st. See what happens. That's the 6th baby on the FB chat due to come before Oct as waters broke this morning so lots happening!! xx

blankiesandunicorns · 11/09/2020 17:22

Wow @Treacle81 that's brilliant, could be anytime how exciting, do you feel ready? I was only 4/5 engaged on Monday when I saw midwife. But I feel like she feels so low she must be engaged!! But clearly how you feel isn't an indicator of what's actually happening down there. Getting some strange movements though and the odd pain, but fully expecting to go til 40 weeks!

Glad your scan went well @LexiM

Spark27 · 11/09/2020 18:03

Just had a google of flu jab places near me, but the soonest I can get is 9th Oct and as I'm due the 27th Sep it's a bit late. Oh well.

Excellent news from the mw @Treacle81. Does baby feel really low and uncomfortable? I was 3/5th at my 36w one so intrigued to see what I'll be next week at my 38w appt. Knowing my luck she'll have popped out again.

Done loads of stuff with DD today- park and a walk, made unicorn biscuits 🙄, had the playdoh out and done an alphabet sticker book, so I've taken myself off for a bath feeling all smug. DH has had to entertain her for all of 10mins so far and is already on a video call to the grandparents.
She's staying at my parents tomorrow night. First night without her since early Feb. Can. Not. Wait 🤣

Treacle81 · 11/09/2020 18:38

Tbh in the last few days I've felt a massive difference, I am going to the toilet so much more and yes, it feels niggly, like the onset of a UTI type of feeling at times, not pleasant. I have also woke to what I can only describe as feeling like I've slightly wet myself last 2 mornings, so need to keep eye on that! Oh i would love to see my little one @LexiM, glad you did ☺️ @otterbaby those shoes are just adorable, that will be a beautiful autumnal pic I'm sure. It's my favourite season 🍁🍂😊xx

HerondaleDucks · 11/09/2020 21:01

Ok ladies. I'm pretty proud of this effort. But my boobs are now killing me.
I might have a couple of days off before I try and harvest more.

HerondaleDucks · 11/09/2020 21:04

@LexiM Wow that sounds so exciting. Glad you had a good scan!

justanothermamma · 11/09/2020 21:05

@BntTowers What names do you have in mind? I could do with an opinion on ours!

@Spark27 30 mins before is so unfair! If it was me I'd still look knowing that someone had spent time sorting the house out! I'd cry too, don't worry 🙈.

@otterbaby I got my flu jab today, my midwife insisted I get it as soon as I could with being high risk. I didn't look into the pros and cons.. should I worry?! My doctors did mine and they were really good with it!

@LexiM Awww how lovely! We had a scan like that of our little one, could see the eyelashes and everything 😍

@Treacle81 I'm the same! Got the same 'that's rare for your second', that's why DH is so sure baby will come early!

booroo · 11/09/2020 21:14

@Treacle81 @justanothermamma
I Was told baby is fully engaged at last appointment aswell and was rare as wasn't my first.. blinking uncomfortable isn't it! Like walking around with a bowling ball down there 🤣 she still Hasn't appeared though lol, be interested to see what she's up to at my 38 week appointment and growth scan next week x

BntTowers · 11/09/2020 21:20

@HerondaleDucks that's amazing, well done!

@justanothermamma we are team yellow at the moment so.its even harder deciding on two names! For girls I still like Esme, the name was going to be Phoebe Esme but I think Esme may be a first name now. Boys was going to be Henry Rupert, but with the names lists coming out at the end of August they broke down how many children were named in the city and Henry was very high up on the list which has put me off...
What names are you thinking of?

@Spark27 that's so frustrating when that happens! Sounds like a full on day with your dad, hope you enjoy your night off tomorrow!

justanothermamma · 11/09/2020 21:48

@booroo I spend 90% of the day worried I'm going to pee myself, so much PRESSURE!!

@BntTowers Esme is a lovely name! Love the boys names too! Don't worry about the lists too much, our DD is on there in the top 20, but we don't know of any others with her name and there isn't any at nursery (yet). I was one of five in my class at school with the same name and although it was annoying, it doesn't matter too much! We're having a girl and we like Esther, Maeve of Agnes, but I'm worried Maeve and Agnes will be shortened and my and DH are not a fan of the shortened versions! I think we'll go with Esther, but DD can't say it brilliantly (Esser), she is only two though!

otterbaby · 11/09/2020 21:58

@Treacle81 how exciting!! Fingers crossed it's not too long for you...I was told I'm 1/5 engaged but I was confused if that meant I was nearly there or not at all. I think that's closer than not though? I definitely have the waddle!

@justanothermamma you don't need to worry! I think vaccines can just be one of those controversial things 🙂 I'm going to get it if I can!

@HerondaleDucks that's really good going. I tried a bit of expressing in the bath today and some started coming out but I just panicked and stopped so I wouldn't waste it haha. Reassuring to know it's there though!

Ooo more name talk. Esme and Esther are really lovely. Love the old lady names!

justanothermamma · 11/09/2020 22:19

@otterbaby I suppose there are risks with everything! But hey ho! DD has an old lady name too, so we want to keep the theme going (so CUTE).

CharlieBalf · 12/09/2020 04:38

Jumping in on the old lady name talk - such pretty names! Esther is beautiful and I don't know of any little girls with that name round my way. As with He ry, you could always refer to him as Rupert or a derivative of... My cousin recently had an Edward but will be referred to as Beau which is his middle name.

As we're team yellow too (go team yellow! 💛) we have a few names on the list: Agatha, Roberta, Henrietta and Monty, Alden and Bertie. Guess we'll see what baby look likes. My friend took around a mo th to pick a name for her little boy, testing put a few. She went for Arlo in the end.
Yes. It's 4am. Ah. Better get used to it,🤣😭

ferntwist · 12/09/2020 06:30

Good morning lovely ladies. I hope it’s okay to join the thread at this late stage. I’m due on 7th October (ELC) but hoping to go into labour naturally earlier.
So inspiring to read all your stories!
Looking forward to lots of lovely babies.

SkyBlue20 · 12/09/2020 07:34

Morning everyone!

@LexiM I agree, cancer is so cruel - my FIL died from it three years ago and it was the most difficult time, you really have my sympathies. It sounds good that he’s still chatting away to you though! I really hope he manages to meet baby - the thought of that is probably what’s keeping him so strong, which is lovely. Take care of yourself xx

It’s so exciting that everyone is on mat leave, the babies seem to be getting ready for eviction, you’re getting dates, everything! I’m so happy for you all and can’t wait to see babies start arriving. All of the names are beautiful and thank you for reminding my about my flu jab, must get that organised!

Hope you all have a lovely weekend planned! Xx
