Thanks guys. I thought since I'm high risk it could be a sign of preterm labour but I'm assuming she thinks I have a stomach bug.
I'll keep an eye on it see how I get on

Treaclepie19 · 06/09/2020 18:51

@MrsK89 they don't seem very interested with most of the things I've read about preterm labour. I've had all the symptoms for a few weeks apart from leaking waters (that I know of).

Hope it eases for you soon.

Ooh and the cook meals is a good deal!
We had some cook meals after I had my gallbladder out and they're lovely.
I may order some actually.

@Spark27 Good luck with DD tomorrow, I'm alone all day tomorrow with mine tomorrow too, so we can have each other for advice getting through it 😂.

@BntTowers My DH isn't allowed in to hospital for induction either which I'm really stressed about too! I'm so hopeful the rules will change before baby comes, it's just unecessary stress!

@Treaclepie19 @CharlieBalf Cook meals are so nice, we love them and my DH is totally on board with ordering some for us when baby arrives, so pleased I don't have to batch cook!

@MrsK89 I'm high risk like you and my last pregnancy whenever I had preterm symptoms I just got told I was in 'the latent phase' all the time. One midwife said she'd see us in a few days maximum at one point so I started my maternity leave earlier than planned and DD didn't come for another two weeks! Even when I was in actual labour they tried to tell me I was still in the 'latent phase' with it being my first baby and that I'd be in labour for hours, when they eventually decided to check me as I was telling them I had to push they were shocked to discover I was actually 10cm and DD appeared ten minutes later. My DH was beside himself!
You know yourself if you're not right, so keep calling them if you're worried!! X

MummyBearBoo · 06/09/2020 19:59

Has anyone asked a health professional if hiccups after 32 weeks is normal coz according to google it can indicate a problem? Should I be concerned I'm 34+5 xx

Treaclepie19 · 06/09/2020 20:23

@MummyBearBoo pretty sure its fine. I've not asked anyone but with ds1 I had them all the way through. Getting them still now at 35+4.

OP posts:
Spark27 · 06/09/2020 20:32

@MummyBearBoo I'm pretty sure it's completely normal. Felt them throughout my last pregnancy and this one and I'm 37w. Babies can have them a lot when they are born too which still isn't an issue x

booroo · 06/09/2020 20:42

Ahhh so how did I ever think it would be an idea to be nearly 37 weeks pregnant and my little girl starts school tomorrow 🙈 I'm going to be a wreck, I cry thinking about it 😭
How's everyone doing?
I have finally made a start packing my hospital bag for me and baby today so that's something of my list 😂

booroo · 06/09/2020 20:43

@MummyBearBoo hiccups hear also and approaching 37 weeks, haven't heard that they are a problem so would try not to worry to much x

HerondaleDucks · 06/09/2020 20:44

So after the other day... and now I'm 36 weeks... I decided to review my hospital bag. And now I have 1 bag for me and one for baby lol.
We have been super busy this weekend. DH laid the floor in the dining room yesterday and today we went to IKEA and got some cube storage. And omg the difference it makes having somewhere to keep everything tidy. I didn't even think about it, but my friend said to me aren't you having some storage downstairs with nappies, wipes, clean clothes etc so you don't have to keep going upstairs. And it was a total doh! moment for me. So now baby has a whole column to store things in! So now I've got that covered. Now wondering if I should get a second changing mat for downstairs.

@booroo sending you a hug. My little boy starting school has been a nightmare for my emotions. I've just been crying yet again over it. He started on Wednesday!

Hope your little one gets on okay ❤

MrsK89 · 06/09/2020 20:50

Thank you everyone, my previous births were very short labours so I'm always a bit wary. Just felt a bit deflated after speaking to the midwife. I will call back if I feel any worse.
Freezing meals is a great idea and saves you worrying about what your family will eat. I'm going to try and "rest" this time after birth, not sure how with 3 little ones 😂

Treacle81 · 06/09/2020 20:56

Hi girls, we all have similar issues. I have been getting lightening crotch and all of baby movements have hurt today, they are just running out of room and I feel so tight all the time. I feel like I am going to wet myself when out walking which I assume is pressure and have noticed a lump in my arm pit which is pretty sore so need to mention in at next appt on Fri. Toilet wise, more mucis plug every day comes out but thankfully sorted the 4 days of no bowel movement with bran flakes and apricots! Off 2m thankfully as worked today and back is breaking so looking forward to rest day xx

justanothermamma · 06/09/2020 21:02

@MummyBearBoo I'm buggered if hiccups mean a problem, this baby is constant! My DD was exactly the same, found it so annoying 🙈. I got told it was normal though!

@HerondaleDucks We have a cupboard downstairs dedicated for baby! With DD we used to trail upstairs to change her all the time, why I'll never know! We are so ready this time 😂.

@booroo Bless you! At least you'll all have something to keep you distracted when baby arrives and you'll get the time with baby that you had with with her so it all works out! Sometimes I wish I had waited for DD to be at school before having another, just so DD could be kept busy/be tired out etc. just have to pay nursery fees for that to happen instead now 🙈. She'll love school I'm sure and she'll be so excited to tell her friends when baby arrives! You'll also get some well deserved rest too. Thinking of you lovely! Xx

Spark27 · 06/09/2020 22:11

@HerondaleDucks I have a change mat upstairs (handy for upstairs changes but also for lying baby, in a towel, on after their bath) and another for downstairs that will just be shoved under or down the side of the sofa when not in use. I also have some cube furniture and one of the boxes has nappies, wipes, nappy bags, cream, etc in it. Easy for grabbing and moving around to change baby downstairs. I found having kitchen roll in it was handy. A few squares under their bum when changing (in case of escaping poo when you open the nappy, or a wiggly pooey bum, or open nappy wee etc) can be useful as it stops their clothes getting messy and needing a change and mops it up ready for you to just shove it in the nappy bag too. Or you could use a cloth/muslin and change it regularly. x

HerondaleDucks · 06/09/2020 22:14

Excellent advice. Thank you @Spark27
I'm gonna get it all stocked up.

BettyBotter1 · 07/09/2020 04:50

I hadn't thought about downstairs changing! Thanks for ideas @Spark27. I have a cube storage thing I'm sure i can reorganise. I have my cloth nappy delivery and zoom explanation meeting next weekend so will get my changing stations planned following that 🙈
@MummyBearBoo mine has hiccoughs right now! She has been really active for last hour or so.
@booroo ah good luck to you and DD for tomorrow, I hope all goes well and you get through it ok, big day.
@treacle81 I'm getting shots of lightening crotch sometimes too when I'm standing or walking. Let us know what midwife says about your armpit.
@treaclepie19 I'm with you on things starting to feel very real now. In my headspace i feel different, more like I'm actually going to have a baby instead of just being theoretical. I must lack imagination 😅

Spark27 · 07/09/2020 06:23

Hope all goes well today @booroo. Just keep reminding yourself of a nice hot, private cup of tea/coffee when you get home and a biscuit you don't have to share 😅.

I've got to stay in all day and wait for the british gas person. Urgh. But it's a good excuse to not have to go struggle into anything other than sweats and go out.
Trying to start off the day in a positive mood to see if that helps. Hampered by the fact that DD woke us up at 0515 and then 0600 😴. I was actually getting some decent sleep before then. And now DH is snoring

MrsD1990 · 07/09/2020 08:52

@booroo good luck for your little girl's first day today!! ♥️♥️

So I've very nearly finished packing my hospital bag but have one question - how many muslins and blankets are people packing? Blankets take up so much room I'd rather only take one but will take more if people think I really need to...

BntTowers · 07/09/2020 08:54

@justanothermamma at the moment I'm pretty sure partners are only allowed in during active labour, I'm not sure how much it will change in the next few weeks, but I'm hoping he will be able to visit for an hour or two. I will see what they saw at my 36 week scan in a week and a half. I have a few Audi books downloaded and will download a few films or a TV series to act as a distraction.

Good luck to those with little ones starting school today, I hope they do ok.

I think we might need another changing mat, we have one in the baby's room and a travel one which currently DH thinks is too many but I think we could do with one in the living room but I'm not sure.

Treacle81 · 07/09/2020 09:00

Morning girls! @MrsD1990 My thick blanket will stay in car with car seat and partner will bring it in when we leave, hospitals have said they have plenty. I have taken one nice thin, grey cellular for hospital pic and 4 Muslins though. Woken up with energy so making the most of it! Going to do a load of ironing and tidy out my drawers. That's us had the third baby on FB chat, born 4 weeks early and just shy from 7 pounds-- think some of our babies are much heavier (ones that haven't been told) than apps suggest lol xx

MummyBearBoo · 07/09/2020 09:06

Thanks everyone for your replies! My DD has hiccups and it seems to be US sites saying this but just thought I'd check with you lovely lot!

@booroo -My DD starts school on Wednesday too!! Xx

Treaclepie19 · 07/09/2020 09:47

God ladies I am not coping with this school run. He cries and I try my hardest to be positive and keep it together and then I come home and cry my eyes out.
He's really struggling to settle. I knew he would because he never really settled into nursery. Feeling all the guilt that being pregnant/having a baby means I can't realistically home school him.
He's already got a sniffly nose too so coming down with a cold after 3 days there.
Waah 😭

OP posts:
MrsK89 · 07/09/2020 10:15

@Treaclepie19 keep doing what you are doing, stay positive, he will be fine and settle down. My DS did take a while and he never settled in nursery. It will get better and easier and hopefully soon you will see a change in him x

I am feeling so so crampy today, exhausted

Spark27 · 07/09/2020 10:16

@MrsD1990 I've packed 3 standard size muslins, then 2 large swaddle muslins and 1 thin cellular blanket. I have one of the star wraps for the car seat but will get DH to bring that in with the carseat when we leave.

Sorry it's so difficult @Treaclepie19, but I'm sure it will get better soon. My DD always cried for a few weeks when she moved up a nursery class, but after a few weeks she settled well. I'm sure all the kids will come down with snot/colds now they're all back at school and mixing, esp after so long out. DD had a horrid cold a week after returning to nursery, and shared it with me 👍🙄.
