Ended up falling asleep, still got the twinges today still 15 mins apart, obviously going to be a slow burner this baby! I think baby is just moving down but I'm prepped in case things change - I hope it stops though, bit early for my liking! X

Zaalfruit · 05/09/2020 15:06

@mamamemmmer hopefully it’s baby just moving around and will settle into a position.

Yeah very early - how many weeks are you?

mamamemmmer · 05/09/2020 15:11

@Zaalfruit Due date puts me at 35 +3 weeks but last scan suggested that I was 2 weeks further ahead and that tallies with the dates we have from trying so god knows!

MummyBearBoo · 05/09/2020 15:45

Hey girls just checking in 4 weeks til my planned induction on Monday seems far too close!! Xxx

blankiesandunicorns · 05/09/2020 16:51

Some Pains and tightening here this afternoon but pretty sure it's my body getting ready and nothing else too significant. Hope everyone's ok.

@mamamemmmer my measurements from
Growth scan said 39 weeks but I'm 36+2. Not sure whether we can expect or go into early labour or not?!

justanothermamma · 06/09/2020 13:01

How is everyone today?

LexiM · 06/09/2020 13:31

Hope you're all having a good weekend.

My DH and I just tidied the kitchen, hoovered etc... I then went to get the milk out the fridge and dropped it. If there was an award of making the most mess I would have won and it would have been impressive... all over the floor, under the fridge and up the walls on the other side of the kitchen! I am just impressed I didnt cry. DH was very good and helped me sort it all out, followed by suggesting I may need a nap Haha.

No plans for the rest of the day, I might just have a bath and take it easy!

MrsK89 · 06/09/2020 13:31

@justanothermamma low back pain, lot of discharge and loose bowels 🙈
How are you feeling?

Aquablue1123 · 06/09/2020 14:09

Hi girls,

It's crazy to think we are all nearly there!
I was also told the baby is on the big side and I may go sooner than expected. 36 weeks on Tuesday but I've been getting bad pressure pains down below so I think he is moving lower. I have give up on exercise now but I know I should still be walking at least as it helps with the sore joints I just can't find the motivation these days.
I haven't completed the hospital bag but I have got a hospital drawer haha so DH can just empty the drawer into a bag if I randomly go earlier.
I'm really excited now; still no name confirmed so hoping it will come to me when I see his face on the big day 🤣.

Xxx

justanothermamma · 06/09/2020 14:38

@Aquablue1123 I'm sorting the hospital bag today too! One for me, one for baby! Also have to pack a bag for our 2 year old DD to go to my Mum's for when baby comes! I hate packing as well!

@MrsK89 Bless you! We're so close now though! Wish I shared the looseness, I'm the other way 😩🙈.

@LexiM We could be sisters, my luck is very similar. I'm a clumsy, walking danger zone right now!

CharlieBalf · 06/09/2020 14:42

@lexiM oh no! Poor you. I think a bath and a nap is a great idea.

I've been having major pressure in the pelvic region, everything feels very tight and heavy. I know baby was head down at my last check up so perhaps it's moving down more? It's certainly uncomfortable most of the time now. 36 week growth scan next Wednesday so might find out a bit more about going on. Bbay was siting just below the 70th percentile at 32 weeks so big but not by much.

Spark27 · 06/09/2020 14:44

Hey ladies, feeling properly drained and emotional this weekend. Guessing it's just hormones. Got a weeks grace left to get an offer on our house before the other people put theirs back on the market. It's to be expected, but just another laod of stress, and means we're still having to look at other houses to keep our options open. Had a couple of little cries yesterday as I was just so tired and fed up.

Sleep has been terrible and it means I have very little patience with DD, which is making me feel worse. Not sure how I'll cope with her all day alone tomorrow.

Baby is wriggling away quite happy and painfully though. 37w today so classed as full term, yay. But as uncomfortable as I am I'd like a few more weeks of her staying in. I dread to think how uncomfortable I'd be feeling if I was measuring the right number of weeks or over. Sorry, just read that back and realised it sounds all doom and gloom. I'm ok, really 😅xx

BntTowers · 06/09/2020 15:13

I've been feeling down this weekend. Last night was the worst, convincing myself it's getting more likely I'll need to be induced and panicking about being alone during that. DH wasn't helping, I just wanted him to understand where I was coming from instead of trying to find ways to fix it and motivate me.
Today my blood sugar has been all over the place and I am struggling so a day on the sofa for me it is. I am a bit bored now though, been looking through some online sales for new bedding for us and some curtains.

@lexiM I think you did well not to have a bit of a cry over that, I definitely would have!

@Spark27 it's early days with the house yet a lot of people will have been looking online over the weekend and be making bookings for next week.

MrsD1990 · 06/09/2020 15:26

Sorry people are feeling lots of aches and pains! I was at the park for my friend's birthday yesterday (the park was about an hour on public transport from our house!!) and the feeling of baby pushing down and making me feel like I need a wee and poo all the way home was too much!! At least this probably means baby is engaged and not transverse any more. Have a midwife appointment on Wednesday and would really like her to confirm!

Has anyone started making freezer meals? Just made a big batch of spag bol - 6 portions so 3 meals for 2 people. Now exhausted. Felt like so much work for not much gain but loads of people have told us to make freezer meals because there just isn't time to cook from scratch with a newborn (and our takeaway habit is very expensive and unhealthy as it is!!) Going to keep at it, might try to make one bulk of meals a day while I'm on mat leave. We're also going to buy some frozen pizzas and things like that.

CharlieBalf · 06/09/2020 15:39

@MrsD1990 well done you! I've started boxing up anyeftovers because making them from scratch is just too much like hard work. Ive made an order from here: www.cookfood.net/menu/meal-bundles/new-parents/First-Fortnight

Got two weeks worth of ready meals for hubby and I so if needs be he can cook 😊 just peace of mind and a bit of pressure off my shoulders.

MrsD1990 · 06/09/2020 15:49

@CharlieBalf oooh I'm going to have to ask my husband if he'd be up for that. Such a good idea and it works out as about £4.50 a meal which isn't bad! Also takes the pressure off me a bit because I was hoping to have at least 4 weeks of dinners in the freezer!!

CharlieBalf · 06/09/2020 15:56

@MrsD1990 it's not the cheapest option I'll grant you but i just can't stand in front of the cooker for two hours batch cooking right now. I'm suffering from SPD and honestly anything which makes my life easier is worth the outlay!

MrsD1990 · 06/09/2020 16:06

@CharlieBalf agreed, it's good value since it's all done for you! Also we spend about £30 ordering takeaways when we can't be bothered to cook so £9 for two meals seems fine to me. And I'm so exhausted from batch cooking it seems worth it. Have you eaten their food before? I've heard of them but not tried their food. They have a shop not too far from our house so we might try a couple before we order the bundle

MrsK89 · 06/09/2020 16:15

I called triage because I'm going to the toilet every time I eat now, and she wouldn't advise just said call gp 🙄

CharlieBalf · 06/09/2020 16:18

@MrsD1990 When we were having to travel a fair way for IVF appointments we got a week's worth in for ease in the evenings, they were delishious. Feel fairly healthy and hearty - at the end of the day they're ready meals but certainly better than your standard £2.99 cheap supermarket special 😂
I just know what I'm like and if I can't be bothered to cook now with 4 weeks to go what am I going to be like with a newborn!

justanothermamma · 06/09/2020 16:23

@CharlieBalf I was half tempted to sign up to HelloFresh for when baby arrives but I'm going to look into this!

LexiM · 06/09/2020 17:10

My MIL has very kindly been making meals for us to have when baby is here. I am so grateful!

@BntTowers I know I'm surprised too! I've done so much cleaning now today, very tired. My friend who was due Friday and still waiting said she spilt a bowl of tomato pasta sauce on her cream sofa this week, so I feel a bit better its not just me and I can imagine that was more of a nightmare to clean up!
Sorry you are feeling down, I know what you mean sometimes it just needs to be acknowledged that you feel that way. Does your hospital not let partners in for induction still? Sorry to hear that, I can imagine it's hard to stay positive.

@Spark27 fingers crossed for a buyer for your house. House selling and buying is stressful at the best of times, I can imagine you are feeling the pressure to get it all sorted when you should be relaxing. Hope your day with DD tomorrow goes ok, be kind to yourself and congrats on getting to 37 weeks, must all feel so close now!

@MrsD1990 bet you are so tired! I hope that baby is still engaged when you see the midwife. I've also got midwife on Wednesday. I'm convinced baby is still breech or transverse. All movements come from top half/sides and I can feel what was the head still up high. If that's the case fingers crossed he moves in the coming weeks.

MrsD1990 · 06/09/2020 17:18

@CharlieBalf just spoke to my husband about it and he's so up for it! He really likes the look of what's in the meal bundle. Great that you've had a good experience in with them already. I think it'll take the pressure off me making frozen meals - think we will us these to supplement my meal preps!

@MrsK89 I had a midwife do this to me, I called back the next day and had a different midwife thankfully who asked me to come in for tests. Definitely worth calling again later and hopefully you'll get someone else!

BntTowers · 06/09/2020 17:21

@MrsD1990 I've just been putting our left overs on the freezer, I think so far I have about 8 evening meals done. On Thursday (day off) I'm hoping to make a batch of leek and broccoli soup and slow cooker stew. Hoping to get another week or so worth done, plus a few more soups to have over lunches.

@LexiM tomato sauce on a cream sofa, I think that would have pushed me over the edge! Well done on the cleaning. I have so much to do still but made a start on the shower earlier, fed up of asking DH to do it and he doesn't do it right.

Treaclepie19 · 06/09/2020 17:33

@MrsK89 I had the same with the midwife. Phoned the doctor and he wasn't bothered either. So I'm just putting up with it. It's been going on for weeks now.

Things feel very real now don't they!
Wednesday I'll be 36 weeks and got to see the consultsnt about the reduced movements. I'm not worried and all was well at the scan so as long as she isn't worried either I won't be pushing for an early induction. Still holding out for our spontaneous mlu birth 🤞

Went for lunch today and I had a massive nap while DH ran round doing everything 😳 I'm useless at the moment.
