@Zaalfruit please keep trying to contact your doctors. I hope your midwife is going to keep an eye on you and monitor your mood, that's part of her job and a really important part! Feel free to pm me if you need to talk

mamamemmmer · 04/09/2020 08:56

@Spark27 @Zaalfruit We used the Aldi formula last time, the ingredients were identical to Aptamil, they all habe to follow such strict guidelines, they're all the same! Aldi saved us so much money and we had no issues with it at all! X

BntTowers · 04/09/2020 09:17

@Spark27 good luck with your house going live on the market, hopefully you'll get some.viewings booked in asap!

I think our NCT teacher said legally all formula has to be pretty much the same as the regulations are so tight on it.

I actually got my first gd fasting reading on the boarder line of being in target this morning, which has put me in a good mood.

@Quiffy I'm glad they've not announced lockdown for you and that there's no problems with your parents coming up.

@Zaalfruit as others have said please try the doctors again, I know it's hard to get over that hurdle, but even if it's just hormones it's important it's logged somewhere.

@Treaclepie19 good luck for your scan today.

Treaclepie19 · 04/09/2020 09:20

Thank you everyone.

Tbh apart from the pains, reflux and constant weeing I could easily forget im pregnant while I'm so worried about ds.
He's gone in crying again today and he has to stay all day. My hormones can't cope 😭

CharlieBalf · 04/09/2020 13:17

Hey ladies and @Zaalfruit I'm feeling particularly down today. Nothing triggered just a bit blue. I slammed the door while hubby was on a work call and took myself off to bed for a sulk.
I'm 90 % it's hormones but going to raise it with Consultant next week.
I too fin dot incredibly hard to get in contact with the GP atm, I have a prescription for Inhixa that hasn't been filled and I can't get through on the phone to chase it.
Some days are just tough. Hang in there all.

HerondaleDucks · 04/09/2020 13:52

This may be tmi but I'm officially leaking yellow stuff from my boobs. I'm assuming this is colostrum but I'm a bit clueless as to how you harvest it? Tbh its only a tiny bit anyway but... what to do with it lol!

I'm sorry to hear you're feeling blue @CharlieBalf
I hope your mood picks up soon!

It's my last day at work today. Feel sad. No one has made a deal of it, just some farewell emails. Feels pretty anticlimactic.

NWnature · 04/09/2020 14:07

@HerondaleDucks that’s exciting! I think you use little syringes - maybe amazon? I’ll ask my SIL and report back.
Congrats on your last day, sorry it’s been a bit of a damp squib- but freedom!!

@CharlieBalf @Zaalfruit @Treaclepie19 take it easy guys - I hope you feel better soon. As we’ve said all along - this has been an insane time pregnancy hormones on top of a worldwide pandemic- it’s no wonder everyone has down days. It’s Friday at least so weekend in sight

BettyBotter1 · 04/09/2020 16:01

@HerondaleDucks when I mentioned colostrum to my midwife she got excited and loaded me up with syringes to collect it. She said to collect it over the course of a day storing the syringe in the fridge then put in freezer. Congrats on last day.
@Treaclepie19 bless him 😥 hopefully it's the initial separation and he'll be fine shortly afterwards. Doesn't stop you worrying about him though! Hope the scan goes well.
@Spark27 good luck with the house going live! Fingers crossed for lots of interest and a good offer asap.
@BntTowers great news on your reading, that's really positive. Not long to go now!
Sorry to those feeling blue. I'm sort of up and down now, nothing dramatic just really tired now. Don't know how those of you with other children to look after are doing it. My bump is sometimes a bit numb too in places round the top when the baby pushes it out.
My colleague's wife had her baby last night, all are healthy and happy ❤

LostinAusten2 · 04/09/2020 16:02

Hey sending best wishes all for the weekend - so sorry to those with sickness and pain and feeling down (I think I’m a week behind most folk so looking forward to all of this next week 😄) - and huge congrats to those finishing work, we’re neeeeearly there! x

Zaalfruit · 04/09/2020 16:03

So I spoke to my doctor and she said that the maternity unit need to refer to the antenatel mental health unit. I told her the midwife told me to go back to you . It just a circle of back and forth .

Thanks for the tips on the milk- my dh wants the formula to be suitable for vegetarians so that’s the only thing I need to check - I might get a variety of forumulas .

How is everyone and how’s all the scans and 35/36 week checks going .

Anyone else lost their appetite?

@HerondaleDucks omg how do you harvest it - my thoughts exactly !! Good luck on grabbing that colostrum.
Ahh I’m sorry to hear about your work place being so meh about your last day!! On the upside it’s your last day , yay - I’m so jealous - have 10 more working days left of work . Enjoy the time before baby gets here and I assume the sleepless nights ! My work place have forgotten I’m going and have placed me on an important call the day after I leave 🤣😂

Treaclepie19 · 04/09/2020 16:14

Thanks all. Scan went well and ds seems to have got on well at school.
Baby girl is apparently about 6lbs 3oz so far 😳 I'm 35+2. Meeting with the consultant to discuss next week. I was meant to be seeing the midwife that day but I'm guessing the consultant will be better.

HerondaleDucks · 04/09/2020 16:58

Great news on your reading @BntTowers. You're doing so well!!

Yeah I had a look on amazon but still a bit baffled as to what to get. Might wait until I see the midwife on Wednesday and talk about it with her. It's like yellow and looks a bit like condensed milk.

Glad your scan went well @Treaclepie19. That seems big! Is that normal size for 35 weeks?

Zaalfruit · 04/09/2020 17:01

@Treaclepie19 that sounds so good with ds.

Hats off to you all that have children - I don’t know how you all manage . Some days I wake up and changing into fresh clothes seems such a hassle .

My friends Is getting a planned c section on the 19th they are worried her baby will be over 9lbs . ( she doesn’t have gd)

Treaclepie19 · 04/09/2020 17:06

She is following a high centile i think @HerondaleDucks. Everyone has said she seems big.
Bit worrying if I end up going over 40 weeks 😂 Maybe the consultant will be encouraging the induction even more.
Her head was so low down she had to tip the bed up so I was feet in the air to be able to get her head measurement 🙈

babymama09 · 04/09/2020 17:52

Thankyou all for your support, you have no idea how much it has meant to me to be able to come on here and talk to you all and I send you all love and luck for your upcoming labors. Please feel free to contact me if you still want to be in contact. Also Saoirse's story is going in the Liverpool Echo this weekend.... I'm trying to raise awareness of their condition. Xxxx

otterbaby · 04/09/2020 18:23

@Zaalfruit agreed, I can hardly cope with just me and the cat! Annoying about the runaround you're getting with the gp though. They're bloody useless.

@Treaclepie19 great news about your scan, and that's some nice reassurance to keep you going through these last few weeks. Hopefully her being so far down is a good sign!

@HerondaleDucks jealous that you can start collecting it! You'll have to let us know how you get on.

@BntTowers well done on the reading, hopefully it's the first of many!

@babymama09 that's great to hear. I know that when I lost April, it was so reassuring to hear about other people who had been through similar. Your story will help so many x

We haven't had any bumpdates recently so here's mine from a few days ago when I was 35 weeks. I can't imagine getting any bigger!

LexiM · 04/09/2020 18:55

@quiffy can totally relate on hating sleep. For me now it's the slightly lesser of two evils of sitting on the sofa or going to bed. I feel like I switch sides all night in between the pee trips! Glad your parents can come and visit you, will be lovely.

@Zaalfruit sorry the midwife and doctors were so unsupportive, that's awful. I hope you get some more support soon and the midwife does refer you as shes meant to.

@Spark27 fingers crossed for you to have lots of viewings at first and a quick offer on the house!

@CharlieBalf hope you feel more yourself soon. I'm finding the raging hormones today. Came in this evening very tired and just ranted at my DH. Then said I'm happy not to talk to each other for bit!! Sometimes when I've been busy i like the quiet time which is unlike me as I'm usually miss chatterbox!

@Treaclepie19 glad the scan went well and DS had a good day. Great they are keeping an eye on you and you see the consultant too.

I've seen so many stories of people getting induced etc. for potential big babies for them to be like 7lbs week before due date. I guess it depends on the person but I genuinely will be shocked if my baby is under 9lbs as my husband and I plus my siblings were all over that weight! I can imagine my mums face if I announced our baby was 7lbs haha.

@babymama09 it's great the paper is sharing your story to help others understand, I had never heard of the condition until now with you.

@otterbaby lovely bump ❤

Despite leaking a bit I feel like the only person not trying to harvest colostrum. Just feel for the amount I would get out it seems like a lot of effort, then I feel bad saying that but equally it will be there for when baby comes anyway is my thought!

mamamemmmer · 04/09/2020 21:19

How is everyone feeling?

I need some advice, the past two days I have felt so so so sick, so much worse than the morning sickness I had and my sea bands aren't touching it this time. I'm having painful tightenings every 15 mins at the moment (and they're really painful and I'm currently taking strong pain relief) along with uncontrollable shakes.

With DD I just felt sick and like I was starting my period before anything started but right now I feel ten times worse and the pressure I'm getting down there is monsterous.

That alongside sciatica and SPD has made me a blubbering mess.

Any advice/ideas/similar experiences?

I don't want to ring the midwife and look like a twat but I am rather uncomfortable at the moment and I don't know what the hell is happening to my body!

X

HerondaleDucks · 04/09/2020 21:30

I'd call the midwife. Don't feel like a twat. You are clearly in pain and unhappy. She might be able to help? No point in suffering. Bless your heart @mamamemmmer

mamamemmmer · 04/09/2020 21:44

@HerondaleDucks My DH said I was being silly, just projectile vomited all over the kitchen, he's worried about me now.

I'm going to go to bed, if I still can't cope in an hour I'll ring, although I'm in pain I might feel less shit now I've been sick.

LexiM · 04/09/2020 22:00

Oh @mamamemmmer sorry I have no useful advice but sorry you are feel so rough, personally as individual symptoms I would maybe ignore them but together I think I would call the midwife, as its better to be safe about it all. They can only say stay at home and rest as a minimum!

Zaalfruit · 04/09/2020 22:24

@mamamemmmer call triage and see what they say. Please don’t worry about anything - just speak to them. Just give you peace of mind.

blankiesandunicorns · 04/09/2020 23:18

@Treaclepie19 I'm in the big baby club too, 36 weeks yesterday and baby estimated at weighing 7lb already but she's following a good consistent line on the chart so they're not too worried and going to scan me again at 40 weeks if I haven't had her by then, which I'm hoping it will have.

Hope you are feeling better soon @mamamemmmer don't let it go on too long without getting advice and help.

Treacle81 · 05/09/2020 08:13

Morning girls! Well that's the FB Oct group had the first babies, Alona had twin girls yesterday ❤️ @mamamemmmer she was having tightings every 10 mins too, so if you haven't already and still experiencing them, I'd call triage. I slept 8 hrs again last night but again kept myself busy all day. Planning on doing the same today, loving the sleep I experience in return 😊. Happy Saturday xx

MrsK89 · 05/09/2020 09:33

Morning everyone
@mamamemmmer hope you are feeling better and spoke to someone x
I have a growth scan on Tues then apparently I'll get a date to get induced. Hope I can choose to a point, otherwise I'll be labouring on my own if the kids are in school 😬 not sure if they induce on weekends
