Hey all! So I officially got my BFP last night, which puts me at 3weeks 3 days (I have another app telling me I'm at 4weeks 4 days) and I am due between 2nd and 8th May ❤️ I already feel super nauseous, and this will be baby number 3 (our last for sure). I was just wondering if anyone on here wanted to share this journey together - husband is brilliant but doesn't believe you can get nausea this quickly and I'm not close enough to my family to tell them just yet ☹️ so it might be a lonely journey for a little while x

@Welliedays funnily enough we've returned to the office recently and the newbie at work asked me if kids were in our plans - genuine question but tried to shrug it off. I'm such an open book it's hard to just say!

Sleepiness has kicked in today - but I could just be being lazy haha!!

Gingergeek89 · 26/08/2020 20:38

Congratulations to all the new members for their BFPs. Welcome Smile

Knope24 · 26/08/2020 20:46

Hi everyone, hope it's OK to join in. Very early days for me, positive test yesterday 12dpo so hoping it hangs on in there! It really helped reading about you all and what you're feeling as its all a bit overwhelming.

I have absolutely no symptoms at the moment so we'll see what happens. I feel a bit numb emotionally at the moment as I don't think I believe it. This is my first pregnancy and for some reason I thought I would feel different somehow but I feel totally normal and like any other day!

Congratulations to all of you, looking forward to hopefully following your journeys!

Hopeful1712 · 27/08/2020 09:31

@Knope24 congratulations to you. Fingers crossed it sticks for you. I understand what you are saying about feeling, I always assumed I would wake up ‘feeling’ pregnant when actually I don’t feel all that different. Heard some awful stories of sickness so hoping that stays away.

abitfunny · 27/08/2020 09:39

Is anyone else feeling really hormonal? Is that normal for this early? I think I'm around 4 weeks. I keep snapping at my husband and cried this morning...

Hopeful1712 · 27/08/2020 09:54

@abitfunny yes, I felt more hormonal earlier on than I do now. I cried watching a repeat of Andy Murray winning the Wimbledon final! Don’t particularly like him or tennis! Also with you at the snapping, just felt really irritable at the smallest things. Hopefully our partners understand that we can’t help it!

DublinGirl93 · 27/08/2020 09:55

I found out yesterday that I am pregnant after having a miscarriage 5 weeks ago Grin

grandmasterstitch · 27/08/2020 10:15

I'm very hormonal and snippy. I also have the worlds frumpiest toddler and an Airbnb to clean and 4 face masks to make and post 😭 DH is at the busiest point of his entire working year and my mum is on holiday then back to work next week. I have not timed this well. You might find me crying in a corner by the end of September 😂

grandmasterstitch · 27/08/2020 10:16

Grumpiest toddler! I'm definitely the frumpy one

grandmasterstitch · 27/08/2020 10:16

@DublinGirl93 congratulations! How lovely that it's happened so soon for you

abitfunny · 27/08/2020 10:40

@grandmasterstitch hahaha that made me laugh. I just devoured a scone at work.

@DublinGirl93 - congrats thats such lovely news. x

Andsoitbegins88 · 27/08/2020 11:20

Morning everyone!

Congrats on your BFPs @Knope24 and @DublinGirl93!

I’m still determined not to do the digital test until tomorrow (day AF is due) but I’ve done 2 more FRERs and the lines are getting much darker. So, yay!

Is anyone else feeling massively overwhelmed? This was our first cycle of TTC so I know I’m still a bit in shock, but I’m also now thinking about all the things that will be really testing about having a child and freaking myself out! What if I miss my ‘old’ life too much?! I know that’s a bit ridiculous (and I’m sorry if it’s insensitive, truly don’t mean to offend anyone) but what if I’m just not very good at being a Mum??

I think I might be losing my marbles 😂

eternalflame2020 · 27/08/2020 11:57

Morning and congrats to all new bfps!

Yes to the hormonal. Yesterday I snapped and snapped at OH and then felt so bad that I cried. He didn't know what was going on.

This morning I have done the Tesco shop and nearly combusted whilst the checkout lady talked about how cold it is today, I felt like I was on fire. Luckily OH came home from work to help lift everything up as we live in flats. Every task absolutely exhausts me at the moment!

@andsoitbegins88 you're not losing your marbles at all and I think it is absolutely natural to have those thoughts! I talked to OH about it and felt reassured that we would continue as we are but with a little companion by our sides to share it all with.

Piggers946 · 27/08/2020 12:03

I honestly cannot stand the waiting to test again haha. I'm just trying to keep busy and not to think too much of it. The bleeding is getting less and will hopefully stop altogether soon. I'm still having to go to the bathroom non-stop and feeling exhausted at the end of the day but I'm not really having any other symptoms at the moment. Just trying to be patient.

Smp321 · 27/08/2020 12:06

Is this anyone else's first time?

I phoned my GP who gave me a number to call to contact the midwives based at my local hospital. I rang them and they took my details. They then told me about what will happen with my booking appointment, tests, and my first scan. They were absolutely over the phone!

This is all well and good but I feel a bit silly with not knowing what to say. I don't 'feel' pregnant and not gone through this process before so i'm feeling a little bit like a kid starting their first day of school haha!

ScottishStardust · 27/08/2020 12:17

Exciting @Andsoitbegins88 - I'm sure all will be good tomorrow with the digital!

AF is due today here, and I'm like clockwork between 10am-12noon so looking positive here. Called and booked my appointment with the midwife.

However been advised NHS aren't doing any early scans just now due to covid which has upset me a touch - I had a previous ectopic, with very little symptoms (even doctors and surgeons were surprise about how little pain I appeared to be in). Not to worry, will just need to look for a private early scan in the meantime.

grandmasterstitch · 27/08/2020 12:56

@Smp321 I found it really weird that they just take your word for it that you're pregnant! Last time I rang the GP and he was like "yeah, and? Call the midwife and book in"

I need to make my booking appointment for the end of September I think. I've also had to call my rheumatology nurses to tell them, hoping they'll get back to me soon. Apparently they're doing booking appointments over the phone which is a shame, I quite enjoyed mine last time

Andsoitbegins88 · 27/08/2020 13:05

Ah @eternalflame2020 that’s a lovely way of looking at it!

@Smp321 yep my first too - I have absolutely no idea what the next steps are! I’m sure all first time mums feel the same, but it’s slightly unsettling.

@ScottishStardust good news that AF hasn’t arrived! Sorry to hear about your previous experience, will they not even do one based on that? I think I’m also going to book a private early scan, I’m not sure my nerves will take another 8ish weeks of waiting to have it all confirmed 😂

Smp321 · 27/08/2020 13:17

@grandmasterstitch I felt exactly the same! Such a strange situation, it's all unknown and just hoping for the best. They told me that my booking appointment will be over the phone, I will be scheduled a separate short appointment so they can do some tests, and the first time I will see someone properly will be at my 12 week scan. It's all a bit daunting, hoping I will still get the support with most appointments not being face to face.

@Andsoitbegins88 ring your GP and ask. Just don't be like me and stumble over your words so you sound like you're just shouting the words 'pregnant' and 'midwife' in the hopes that they will understand 😂

Hopeful1712 · 27/08/2020 13:28

First time here. Where I am you fill in an online form to midwife team and they get back to you with a booking appointment. No idea if it is face to face or over the phone.
After reading on here i’ve also booked an early scan - although they are booked up so not for a month, bu which i’ll be almost 10 weeks.
@Smp321 stumbling words sounds exactly like me! Hope they managed to understand and help you!

ScottishStardust · 27/08/2020 13:48

@Andsoitbegins88 - no apparently due to covid all early scans for previous miscarriages or ectopics have been put on hold! So would just have to wait until 12 weeks!

I've booked an early scan and there is a place where I live that take you at 6 weeks! I know I won't see very much, but as long as 'it' is where it should be then that'll ease me! I'm just concerned it's not and I lose another tube! But I'm putting my positive pants back on that'll all be ok! Smile

grandmasterstitch · 27/08/2020 14:23

I've just cleaned the Airbnb for my boss and I'm to take away. My stomach hurts and I'm shattered. Trying to dissuade my 2 year old from climbing on the fresh bed was the hardest part. I did not appreciate my child free pregnancy enough 😂

MummyFD · 27/08/2020 14:35

Random one - anyone at the 4.5 week mark feel like they are about to start bleeding any minute? Currently in the queue in Zara panicking I'm just going to have a late period. I know it's anxiety but it's such a real fear!

OP posts:
grandmasterstitch · 27/08/2020 14:41

@MummyFD yes! I describe it as feeling "blobby"

eternalflame2020 · 27/08/2020 14:53

@mummyfd yes, I feel like I've got period type cramps all the time at the moment and keep expecting there to be something there when I go to the toilet. But I think I'm just producing more CM (Sorry for tmi!)
