Hey all! So I officially got my BFP last night, which puts me at 3weeks 3 days (I have another app telling me I'm at 4weeks 4 days) and I am due between 2nd and 8th May ❤️ I already feel super nauseous, and this will be baby number 3 (our last for sure). I was just wondering if anyone on here wanted to share this journey together - husband is brilliant but doesn't believe you can get nausea this quickly and I'm not close enough to my family to tell them just yet ☹️ so it might be a lonely journey for a little while x

@StrawberriCream I near enough could have written that. I’m around 6 weeks now, & has surgery for a mmc in July at 10 weeks. Plus buying and selling right now too!

Luckily oh is dealing with most of the house stuff, so I’m just signing where I need to sign, & hoping he’s not screwing me over 😬

UnicornAndSparkles · 11/09/2020 14:33

Afternoon ladies.

Welcome newcomers, and congratulations.

Is anyone considering asking for a c section? Or contemplating a doula? I had a traumatic first birth and am now considering my options for this time.

UnicornAndSparkles · 11/09/2020 14:34

(First birth was vaginal) id be keen to hear from those with experience of c sections, particularly planned ones. And whether breastfeeding was tricky? I've heard it can be after a c section as your milk doesn't come in quickly?

Sophi123 · 11/09/2020 14:37

Hi all! Can I join please? I got my clear BFPs today at DPO12! Excited but quite anxious as suffered a CP back in July. No real symptoms yet other than a bit of cramping. Due 20th May 2021! First baby!

Due date May 2021!
grandmasterstitch · 11/09/2020 14:57

@UnicornAndSparkles I'll be asking for a c section (actually not really asking if I'm honest) I had a horrible induction followed by an emergency c section last time and then a horrific wound infection so I'm just not prepared to put myself through that and put that much strain on the scar tissue. The midwife doesn't think they'll refuse me

Welliedays · 11/09/2020 14:59

@sophi123 I also had a cp in July and got my BFP the next month and I'm currently 7 weeks, so keep positive. I focused on getting to 6 weeks as then the EPU would see me if I needed them. I'm starting to relax a little bit now! I'm sure all will go well this time

MJM1608 · 11/09/2020 15:08

Hello! Hope I can join in too! I got my BFP on Wednesday & still in shock! I was 19 dpo! We paid for a fertility check up privately & an hour before my hubbys appt I took a test just to be sure & my jaw dropped at the two lines! Over the moon!

I’m getting a private scan at 7 weeks (2 weeks from now) & filled with anxiety until then 😁 my est due date is the 12th May, day of our close friends wedding & my hubby is the best man - ha typical!! Looking forward to hearing about everyone’s experiences xxx

Due date May 2021!
Rg1987 · 11/09/2020 15:13

@unicornandsparkles hey 👋🏼 congratulations
I had a planned c section with my first. It was fantastic to be honest. Minimal pain, only in the hospital for 24 hours and breastfeeding was fine. My milk came in straight away and I breastfed until 6 months (my decision to stop then).
Will be going for a planned c section again this time.

henni85 · 11/09/2020 15:30

@UnicornAndSparkles

I had an emergency c section with my first, which was a bit shit due to being knackered due to labouring for hours. Breastfeeding wasn’t too difficult but other issues meant I had to stop after a few days (baby had to go back into hospital and I wasn’t encouraged to express etc)

I think a c section may be recommended for me this time due to having several abdominal surgeries and previous section. I’m really not fussed either way, as long as whatever is done keeps risks to a minimum. I would rather have a planned section than an emergency though, definitely. I had abdominal surgery in January this year and was up and about really quickly. It was a much more major op as well (bowel surgery for Crohn’s disease)

Whilstwewait · 11/09/2020 17:25

congratulations to the new joiners Grin

DMBX · 11/09/2020 18:29

Found out Sunday we are expecting.

Right now we are 5+5 and have been in touch with the midwifery services so have arranged our first appointment and scan.

The first appointment isnt until 11 weeks with he scan at 12 but I've been reading we should have tests done or at least offered for the likes of sickle cell and they should be done before the 10th week, is this right?

Tinks123 · 11/09/2020 19:48

Welcome all new people!! Hopefully you'll all join the Facebook group... Much easier to talk there ☺️

LittleLL · 12/09/2020 05:55

@UnicornAndSparkles I'm also considering options. I had a vaginal first delivery, which was actually fine until the very end when I suffered a severe tear and significant blood loss (I had a 9lb 6oz baby) - had immediate surgery with a blood transfusion. I then had a real struggle with breastfeeding, in part due to anaemia.

I don't have any of the possible longer term effect of a severe tear (luckily) so will likely have the option to choose. It's a hard decision to make 🤷🏼‍♀️

Rg1987 · 12/09/2020 06:23

Hi ladies! Congratulations to you all 💐
I got my bfp a few days ago, and I think I'm around 4+3, still v early days! Can I ask when you contacted the NHS to let them know you're pregnant? And which week of pregnancy is your first appointment? Thank you! X

MJM1608 · 12/09/2020 06:52

@DMBX Congrats! I am as far along as you, it’s so exciting & terrifying too! I have read the first midwife appointment should ideally be 8-10 weeks, I’m booked in for 10 weeks & then 12 weeks. Perhaps you can call and ask to be moved forward or on a cancellation list? We have also paid for a private appointment for 7 weeks which will be my first scan.

@Rg1987 congrats to you too! see above :) I called the midwife as soon as I got a digital positive & booked in for 10 & 12 weeks with NHS. Have paid for a private scan at 7 weeks. We had paid for fertility treatments & found out I was pg the hour before my hubby’s appt - after paying £550 bloody typical 😂 so called to change my appt to a scan. How you feeling? Xxx

Shinea · 12/09/2020 06:54

Hello all,
So i got my blood tests done and got Protein C deficiency which is causing blood clots in blood vessels, doctor says maybe that's the reason behind my previous 20 weeks pregnancy! And prescribed to take injection everyday until delivery!!
Fingers crossed 🤞🤞

Rg1987 · 12/09/2020 07:04

@mjm1608 thank you! This is my second so you think I'd be able to remember 😂
I've booked a private scan too for 7.5 weeks~ I found that so reassuring last time.
Shame about the cash but brilliant you got pregnant without the need for help! I conceived naturally with my son but needed letrozole to conceive this little bean.
Generally feeling good. Just a bit bloated and slightly disrupted sleep so far. Although I did get the first wave of slight nausea this morning!! How about you?x

Beepbeep42 · 12/09/2020 12:20

Just catching up on these messages now. Hi everyone!

@shinea that's great you've had tests done and they have a solution.

@Cleozeta I'm so sorry to hear this. I can't begin to imagine what you've been through. Wishing you all the best for your pregnancy Flowers

I expect my booking in appointment to be 8-10 weeks, I won't be phoning before 8.

I needed an emergency C-section last time and I was told I would be getting one if I ever got pregnant again, I'm fine with this! My milk however, didnt come in until day 4-5 and by that point I was too upset by seeing my baby so hungry in the hospital I didn't pursue it as we had established FF.

Newbie1987 · 12/09/2020 12:54

Hi, have you got a link for the Facebook group please? I find Facebook much easier to use! Thanks xx

UnicornAndSparkles · 12/09/2020 13:04

Thanks for all the c section stories. How was your recoveries?

I said to DH last night I wish the decision was taken out of my hands, baby was breach and I would "have to" have a c section. Does that indicate I'd rather have one than give birth naturally again?! Ive no idea. 7 months to decide.

grandmasterstitch · 12/09/2020 14:51

@Newbie1987 I can add you but I'll probably have to add you as a friend on Facebook first (then I can un friend) do you want to send me a PM?

Jadeb1995 · 12/09/2020 16:02

Hi ladies, I'm 4 weeks and 5 days today, baby number 1. Feeling super excited but naturally nervous.

How do I join the Facebook group please?

grandmasterstitch · 12/09/2020 17:09

@Jadeb1995 if you PM me I can add you Smile

Maybe333 · 12/09/2020 17:31

Hoping I can join too. I'm 7+2 and going for an early scan at 8+1 because I've such anxiety about this little one.
This will be my 3rd but there's a big enough gap between my first two so everything feels brand new all over again. One thing I have very bad this time round is nausea. It's wild. I'm currently in bed sucking on mint imperials to help a little. Any advice for a bad case of nausea?
Thanks in advance!

Jadeb1995 · 12/09/2020 18:18

@grandmasterstitch thanks lovely, just sent you a PM
