Hey all! So I officially got my BFP last night, which puts me at 3weeks 3 days (I have another app telling me I'm at 4weeks 4 days) and I am due between 2nd and 8th May ❤️ I already feel super nauseous, and this will be baby number 3 (our last for sure). I was just wondering if anyone on here wanted to share this journey together - husband is brilliant but doesn't believe you can get nausea this quickly and I'm not close enough to my family to tell them just yet ☹️ so it might be a lonely journey for a little while x

Have you all been contacted by hospitals for apps? I am six weeks and self referred when we found out but haven’t heard anything?

stepmumSW5 · 07/09/2020 09:43

@iloveyoubutilovememore where are you based? I'm in the uk and they got back to me quickly but the appointment is just in October. Can you give them a call? X

Pinkiii · 07/09/2020 09:59

@Shinea I have had similar pain on my left, hopefully its nothing. I just put it down to uterus growing.

@iloveyoubutilovememore it took about a week after my self referral for a midwife to be in touch. When did you refer? Maybe give the hospital a call and see?

DoctorBambino · 07/09/2020 10:22

@eternalflame2020 @happysunshine1 I'm a fellow stomach pain sufferer! I was in agony last night with trapped wind, never felt pain like it 🤮 turns out I ate loads of gas inducing foods yesterday (bean chilli) and I bloated out HUGE! Still uncomfortable this morning but last night felt like I was dying! 6 weeks today 🙌

Soph212 · 07/09/2020 10:29

Thanks so much for the response, it was so helpful. Just took a look at the NHS website and it was very helpful too. Much better than all the googling I’ve been doing! Hope all goes well for you too :)

Megan88 · 07/09/2020 11:07

Hi everyone, so excited - just got our BFP this morning! This was our first cycle TTC so I'm both surprised and overjoyed. This will be our first baby. Due date mid-May.

Early days of course, but wanted to share with someone!

kblue1 · 07/09/2020 11:56

5, 6 today and think I finally have a symptom! A metallic taste - it’s like evil has invaded my mouth...how long will it last?

Congrats new comers!

Welliedays · 07/09/2020 12:01

It'd so hard isn't it @soph212 I just keep trying to remember it's totally out of my control and what will be, will be. So much easier said than done. I'm also not obsessively testing (I tested the Sunday before AF was due, the Sunday after she hadn't arrived and then the following Sunday just to use tests up, and the month before I'd had a chemical, so wanted to see some line progression in the early days) and I'm not booking any extra scans etc as I don't think that would help me!

@shinea I've had similar pains as well, but they seem to come and go. I've also put it down to my uterus doing it's thing!

@kblue1 thankfully I've not had that symptom yet... I just feel constantly sick instead! 😂

icouldwriteabook · 07/09/2020 12:06

Hello! Hoping to tag along!

I am on the TWW thread but thought I’d best jump over here now as I’m 5+1! Due 9th May 2021. This is our second baby after having my little boy jan 19! I have to say the dec18 group I am in (joined when pregnant) has saved my sanity SO many times!! We started a Facebook group back in 2018 when everyone was due and honestly it’s been the best thing I’ve ever been part of. So helpful, supportive and lovely to see all the beautiful baby’s grow up into now (devils) toddlers!

Still in slight disbelief, I do have a few symptoms, mainly a ridiculous amount of bloating, slightly anxious there’s 2 in there! I was no where near this bloated with my first.

Secretly glad I’m having a May baby- I love that month. (Slightly strange I know) after having my son on New Year’s Day I tried to plan a different time of year this time around!

I’m wondering if that’s something anybody would be interested in in the future? Probably too early yet?!

Also- I haven’t read through all the pages but my minds gone blank since last time- do I ring my gp and get referred to a midwife that way? We’ve moved to a different area since my first so not a clue! (Were UK- north west)

Sorry for the ramble- glad I’ve found this group!

MAXIMO0 · 07/09/2020 12:15

ShalomToYouJackie · 07/09/2020 12:22

@stepmumSW5 what's a sneak peek gender test at 8 weeks? Can you find out the sex of the baby that early?

stepmumSW5 · 07/09/2020 12:27

@ShalomToYouJackie yes the test is called sneek peek and you can order it online

ShalomToYouJackie · 07/09/2020 12:28

@stepmumSW5 wow I didn't know that was a thing!

Welliedays · 07/09/2020 12:34

Pinkiii · 07/09/2020 12:54

Wow so many newcomers! Congratulations to all of you!!

@icouldwriteabook firstly congratulations!! it seems its different in every area atm, I would Call GP, they will either book you in with a midwife or tell you to register at a hospital and midwives will get in touch with you.

Ickli · 07/09/2020 12:58

Hi there, coming to join you - but I still can't quite believe it.
I got my first positive on Saturday with a Superdrug early (at approx 12 DPO) and tested again today with two just to be certain. Due date would be around 17 May 2020.

It's my first time. I'm 31 and I've been trying since Nov 2019. I have horrendously irregular cycles (they've ranged between 12-65 days in the past 6 months) so I was starting to doubt this would happen.

My symptoms seem to have kicked in quite early. I've been feeling nauseous for a few days (it was what prompted me to test), I feel so tired (had naps on Sat & Sun - not sure how I'll get through the work day), my breasts feel tender and harder (with my nipples more often erect), and I have some cramping. I've had some brown spotting on and off since about 5DPO, which I'm really hoping is just implantation bleeding. I'm rather nervous as my mum had several miscarriages before me, so just keeping my fingers crossed.

I called up my GP surgery today and the receptionist just directed me to a self -referral form on the hospital website. It's funny - feels like such an anti climax!

Due date May 2021!
savethewales · 07/09/2020 14:39

Hey all, can I join? I'm due my period in 4/5 days depending which app I listen to. I've got my first positive this afternoon on a frer. I had a miscarriage in February and chemical in March so I'm slightly anxious. Trying to be optimistic that all is going to be well. I'm struggling with a blocked nose, sore boobs and heartburn. Anyone else?

Due date May 2021!
Happysunshine1 · 07/09/2020 14:45

Firstly, welcome to all the newcomers! Wishing you all the best with your journeys.

@DoctorBambino, sorry to hear you have an upset tummy too! Today mine is mostly all on the right hand side, but pretty sure its trapped wind and/or still cross with me for eating too much of the wrong thing! :)

UnicornAndSparkles · 07/09/2020 16:03

So many newbies, hello and congratulations!

Is anyone feeling ridiculously hungry? It seems constantly grazing is the only way of keeping the nausea at bay. Today I've eaten way more than usual, pre-pregnancy:

7am: piece of toast and butter
9.30am: overnight oats with handful of blueberries and strawberries
12.30pm: two wraps with cheese
1.30pm: apple pie
4pm: overnight oats and a banana

And I'm STILL hungry! Shock

Pinkiii · 07/09/2020 16:08

@UnicornAndSparkles same here!!! I’m trying not to go too crazy as i gained a lot in my last pregnancy and I still have 8 months to go lol.

I’m like an endless pit last few days

UnicornAndSparkles · 07/09/2020 16:21

Same here @Pinkiii but its so hard! I was doing well with loosing a bit of weight pre-pregnancy and now I'm dreading the scales!

eternalflame2020 · 07/09/2020 16:45

Oh gosh yeh, I don't think I could get to a level where I'm full at the moment! I feel very nauseous today, just in time for my return to work 😭

Gingergeek89 · 07/09/2020 16:50

Congrats to all the newcomers!

@UnicornAndSparkles I’m exactly the same and am eating cheese wraps at least once a day haha. I was on weight watchers before BFP to help with TTC and lost 2.5 stone so I know what you mean, nervous that I’m eating way so much but also don’t want to be too restrictive. Took the plunge and weighed myself yesterday and only about 1kg heavier at 6+3 so may well not be as bad as you think 🙂

DoctorBambino · 07/09/2020 17:08

@Happysunshine1 mine is also all on my right today, getting worse as the evening progresses and I've barely managed to eat because of it! 🤮
