Hey all! So I officially got my BFP last night, which puts me at 3weeks 3 days (I have another app telling me I'm at 4weeks 4 days) and I am due between 2nd and 8th May ❤️ I already feel super nauseous, and this will be baby number 3 (our last for sure). I was just wondering if anyone on here wanted to share this journey together - husband is brilliant but doesn't believe you can get nausea this quickly and I'm not close enough to my family to tell them just yet ☹️ so it might be a lonely journey for a little while x

@Clueless8521 hope you get some answers.

Clueless8521 · 31/08/2020 16:35

Unfortunately it’s looking like a miscarriage, my levels were lower than they would have expected at this point. Have to retest in 2 weeks to be certain but they are fairly confident this one didn’t stick, thanks for all the well wishes xx

Pinkiii · 31/08/2020 17:15

@Clueless8521 so sorry to hear that. Hope you’re doing ok

grandmasterstitch · 31/08/2020 18:06

So sorry @Clueless8521 I hope you have a good support network

ShalomToYouJackie · 31/08/2020 18:09

@clueless8521 So sorry :( ♥️

Clueless8521 · 31/08/2020 18:39

Thanks everyone ❤️❤️

Andsoitbegins88 · 31/08/2020 19:13

Really sorry to read your news @Knope24 and @Clueless8521 - hope you’re both doing ok ❤️

I had my first ‘why aren’t you drinking?’ question today and I just went blank 😂 they’re our close friends and it’s normal for us to have a drink with lunch so me not was pretty noticeable. I’m sure it’s quite obvious, which is fine, I just don’t feel ready to tell them yet. I’ve been having some twinges and I just don’t want to tempt fate. Anyone else had any awkward questions yet?!

leaferty · 31/08/2020 19:22

Sorry to hear that @Clueless8521 that's very sad for you.

@Andsoitbegins88 I managed to drink appletiser and pretend it was Prosecco so many times in my first pregnancy but just not managing to pull it off this time. My friend is very very suspicious but I'm not ready fo admit anything yet.

I'm really struggling to keep calm. I cannot stop stressing that something is wrong, even though I have no reason to think it is so far. I am 6 weeks today and counting down to my early scan at the end of next week. But I'm also dreading it because I am convinced I'll get there and there won't be a baby. Need to get a grip!

Andsoitbegins88 · 31/08/2020 19:29

Aah @leaferty I hear you completely, every little niggle I’m stressing and every time I go to the toilet I’m holding my breath looking out for blood. Need to try and chill out, what will be will be, but far easier said than done isn’t it?

I’ve just booked my early scan, I’m just over 4 weeks so I’ve got a few weeks still.

Pinkiii · 31/08/2020 19:35

@leaferty i’m the same! i think because I have heard of so many people losing pregnancies its been playing on my mind. I keep telling myself there is nothing I can do atm.

Really want to get an early scan but can’t justify the cost atm.

ScottishStardust · 31/08/2020 19:45

Sorry to hear your new @Clueless8521 Sad Rest up and take care of yourself!

We've got an early scan @ 6 weeks which I know is very early but due to previous issues waiting later could be very detrimental to my health! We won't see much and know that, but just want to ensure baby is where he's meant to be! Feels like a lifetime away though!

Not getting much symptoms or niggles but feel like I should be with things moving around and getting 'set up' for hopefully the next 8 months!

Kaboomba · 31/08/2020 19:57

Can I join please?

I very unexpectedly got a positive this morning and having a slight panic at the moment about having 3 kids 🙈

Allgirlmum · 31/08/2020 20:08

I got a 🌈 BFP today I miscarried last month and have managed to conceive again fast I’m so anxious

ScottishStardust · 31/08/2020 20:34

Congratulation @Allgirlmum and @Kaboomba 😃

Pinkiii · 31/08/2020 20:47

Congratulations on the new arrivals!

Beepbeep42 · 31/08/2020 20:54

Really sorry to hear @Knope24 and @Clueless8521

Tentatively joining after an early loss last month. Full sympathies for those of you sharing the anxiety. Very early days but feeling many a strong symptom which I'm taking as a positive sign. I have a 2.5 year old already :-)

Welcome @Kaboomba I did see your other post Grin

Beepbeep42 · 31/08/2020 20:56

Also I just put in my vodka order for my cousin's hen party in 3 weeks...so there's that Grin

Allgirlmum · 31/08/2020 21:02

ScottishStardust Thank you 😊

ShalomToYouJackie · 31/08/2020 22:01

For drinking excuses, in October you could say you're doing Sober October and maybe you could say you're just doing it early if at an event in September... Grin

grandmasterstitch · 31/08/2020 22:07

Congratulations @Kaboomba and @Allgirlmum!

@Andsoitbegins88 my friend asked me the other day if we will have more because she knows I was a bit on the fence about it. I couldn't lie to her so just told her. It felt quite nice to get it out 😂

@Beepbeep42 I think there's a strong antibiotic often prescribed for dental things? You could suddenly be on that. It was my excuse at a friends hen do 3 years ago until one of the other ladies got in first with the same excuse 😂

Gingergeek89 · 31/08/2020 23:14

Metranidazole is often prescribed by dentists for oral infections, it’s one of the few antibiotics with which you can not drink at all. That’s one I have lined up. The other is that my OH has bet me that I can’t stay off alcohol and that I have to win

Gingergeek89 · 31/08/2020 23:14

To those that have had bad news I am really sad to hear that and hope that you get a lovely BFP again soon

Pinkiii · 01/09/2020 08:15

I don’t think anyone believes the antibiotics story anymore.

I would just have a tonic water or a diet coke and say it has a spirit in it. Or if you have a friend you can tell then they can be your drinking wing man and down any drinks for you Grin

Natty47 · 01/09/2020 08:47

I’m looking forward to October when I can start using Stoptober/ Sober October as a plausible excuse for not drinking!

In the meantime I’m using a mixture of either (sadly) avoiding evening catch ups with people, or, because I’ve a got a holiday coming up, saying I’m on pre-holiday diet.

Good luck to others on their drinking excuses! Look forward you hearing more tips :-)

Beepbeep42 · 01/09/2020 08:53

The antibiotic thing fooled nobody last time Grin
Ordinarily I would just say I'm not drinking and nobody would have batted an eyelid as it's not often I do. I think I'll get my mum on board as I was planning on telling her in a couple of weeks anyway.
