@SmileyT Which pram have you got your eye on?

Mrsi2020 · 12/09/2020 06:54

@Catherinettc what a small world! Would be hilarious if we were in hosp together! I loved Altnagelvin. I was high risk so they sent me there and I loved it , hope I’m sent there again. Lol . I’m same as you and I’m feeling a bit achey, a bit nauseous but nothing major and STARVING all the time , really tired but disrupted sleep .

@SmileyT I love your advice too, I also love the fact that you’re as psychotic with me! I have a list of baby names 😱🙈

@Cocoblue22 yayy for 14 weeks, that’s my goal atm! Lmao!

Have any of you girls announced on social media? What were your families reactions? I’m really excited for that ! Dh and I have 3 kids between us, I have 2 and he has 1 and we all live together and they are going to explode when we tell them we’re preg! I cannot wait xxx

Mrsi2020 · 12/09/2020 06:58

@Mustbemad82 hi hun, I’m the exact same as you. I don’t suffer any anxiety or mental health but during preg I am borderline psychotic. Tbh I don’t think there’s anything we can do! Just hope for the best and get through it. I do know if you have a scan with a heartbeat at 8 weeks the chance of mmc after a healthy scan is incredibly low!! My pregs that’s what I worry about , them I worry about the big scan, then I worry about the baby getting here and then when baby comes I am on cloud 9, hyper! Lmao.

Dh and My kids will be 11,8&5 when this baby arrives all being well. I was working in a solicitors office and am now studying for a law degree! You?

Also. What I would say is, we don’t know what’s around the corner in life. We can’t change it, I don’t want to have this baby and not have enjoyed my whole pregnancy. I’m trying my best to just distract myself! My aunt had a baby at 42 and it went swimmingly , never seen a smoother preg or labour. lol don’t think about your age, you’re not old honestly, women are regularly having babies into their 40s xxx

Mrsi2020 · 12/09/2020 07:00

@LittleRa black framed icandy peach over here! I had the icandy apple for DD1 and oyster for dd2. When my ex and I split I sold the oyster but I didn’t love it anyway. I always used my prams esp the carrycot a lot and feel the extra money is worth it for me. Plus I’ve nothing else to buy except bottles because I gave everything to my sister and her baby is 1 so she’s ready to hand all over lmao xxx

Mrsi2020 · 12/09/2020 07:03

My progression today, will stop when I get 3+ on a digi xxx

Summer '20 Grads ❤️
LittleRa · 12/09/2020 07:17

@Mrsi2020 I’m in the same position in that my DD is 6yo and I split with ex when she was about 3 and sold all the baby stuff! I had a silver cross wayfarer, I did really like it. With mothercare closing down I don’t know where to go to try prams out! I’ll check out your suggestions Smile

Mustbemad82 · 12/09/2020 07:22

@Mrsi2020 great progression and thanks- kind words

My children are 16 and 14 and so lovely- we really just want a baby with each other (we are a blended family) and are taking one day at a time

I know about the risk of MMcC I’ve read that but I seem to read hundreds of stories of doom- I tell myself I won’t read and then start agai!N I don’t recognise this neurotic mad woman!

Haven’t even thought about practicalities and probably won’t till about five months (if I get there) and it starts to feel more real

I’m a clinical and operational lead for a community therapy team for the nhs- It’s a super stressful job which is great as it
Means I don’t get too much time to worry when I’m working

@LittleRa The last time I brought a pram it was about 19 years ago For my eldest who isn’t with us now- I haven’t got a clue what an I candy is ? I thought that was the new I phone
I feel I’ve got a lot to learn!

Bl0ndi3 · 12/09/2020 07:43

@Mrsi2020 progression looking perfect 💗

I'll be the same with the 2-3 and 3+

Busybee143 · 12/09/2020 07:57

@Mustbemad82 I feel the same way, I used to suffer badly with anxiety in my early 20's and was on medication but I deal with it better now most of the time.
I have a 14mo that my wife gave birth to and I'm a secondary school teacher. My job is stressful especially with covid but the days go super fast

Mrsi2020 · 12/09/2020 08:23

@LittleRa I see a lot of people rave about the egg but I’ve seen it with a toddler in and it looked small. A lot of people change to stroller but I love using the big pram. That’s why I went for the apple with DD1 because the peach back then had small seats, they’ve now made them bigger so they suit up to toddler age so that’s 100% what I want. I like the bugaboo too but DH thinks they’re mechanical looking 🤣 I’m glad I gave all mine to my sister, I’m more sentimental than I thought and the one thing I realllllly want to reuse is the cot ❤️ But it’s just stuff isn’t it, also stuff is a lot cheaper now than 12 years ago lol xx

@Mustbemad82 I feel you. I also think, and I’ve done it myself, when you get bad or questionable news you go to the internet for reassurance but when you get good news you don’t post that. Like with dd2 I was told at 20 weeks scan we might have a huge problem. I had to wait 3 weeks. I spent 21 nights I’ll on google reading the horror stories, she was fine. I posted all my panic, and I am guilty that I never went back and posted the positive outcome! 😱 my mum said the bad stuff is on google and look around you for all the positive outcomes! It’s hard. Are you getting excited at all ?

@Busybee143 that’s a small age gap! 2 in nappies for a short while maybe 😱 yayy for days that go by fast. Are you getting to take it easy when you need to?

Lol at thinking the icandy was the new iPhone! Prams have changed a lot I think! I really enjoy pram shopping , tbh I really enjoy baby shopping full stop. I think I am so anxious the rest of the time when I’m thinking of that stuff I’m immersed and can’t help but get excited.

Yayy for blended families, omg if I knew how hard it was going to be tho but so worth it . Xxx

Busybee143 · 12/09/2020 08:32

@Mrsi2020 it is a small gap, if we have another we are going to wait till current little one is at school before we try.
I don't really get chance to take it easy but I'm very used to it really so it's not too much of a strain.
God I feel like I can smell everything this morning and it's making me want to spew.
We will probably be getting a new pram too, I don't even know if they do a pram for an older child and a baby 😂

Ltay2 · 12/09/2020 08:49

@SmileyT It has gone quite fast this week! When I went to my booking appointment the midwife said 'so you are 9w4d today is that right?' And I actually had to work it out I'd lost track 😂 finally getting our new carpets fitted today (which is why decorating has been a mad rush, only had 2 days to prep and paint after plaster had dried) so I am very much looking forward to my house not looking like a bomb site!

blodyn91 · 12/09/2020 09:24

These are the two prams I have my eye on atm, I need them big wheels for the farm.

This will be my first 🥳 and I work as an animal Nutritionist for dairy cows, sheep and beef cows and do the occasional milking for cash 😆
Not announced on social media yet, waiting for my 12 week scan which will also be my first. I sometimes worry that I could go 12 week and no heart beat, but I talk myself out of it and mostly enjoying myself other than last night. Had to get up at 5:30 am and been on the sofa since, feel so sicky and just meh. Its sunny though so need to get up and walk the dog as I know ill feel better.
My sister had the icandy that doubled up for toddler and newborn...but shes sold it

Just thought I'd pop in to see how everyone is doing! I've been struggling to keep up with the thread due to constantly working the last few weeks but I'm now on annual leave for a week so I'll try harder to keep up! Congratulations on all the successful scans! 😊

My DS is 3 and I'm a nurse in children's intensive care.

I finally managed to find bubba's heartbeat yesterday at 9weeks 3 days on my Doppler so that has helped with my anxiety a bit plus I've got another scan booked in for next weekend 😊

Hope everyone is well ❤️

Catherinettc · 12/09/2020 09:58

I'm lucky my sis in law has her pram from her wee one and its practically brand new (she's one of those very clean ppl) and she's giving us that and the next to me cot for free :)

It's the bugaboo. My other sis in law has the same one but in pink but is still using it right now and has offered us that too but im really loving the cream and black so taking that one xx

Busybee143 · 12/09/2020 11:16

@blodyn91 I've been feeling poop too but I've just managed to get something good down me. Sometimes I think a walk with my doggo is the best medicine

SmileyT · 12/09/2020 11:33

@Catherinettc yep they all sound like normal pregnancy symptoms to me, have you got an app? I found it quite useful downloading an app as tells me what to expect each week and remember all pregnancies can be different ❤️

@Cocoblue22 all good over here, 14weeks on Monday and in the same boat just patiently waiting for my 16w scan, only 3weeks for us to wait x

@Mustbemad82 so glad you had another good scan 🥰 also step away from google!!...I'm a FTM and Mortgage advisor (hopefully not for long) x

@LittleRa think I'll be getting a babyzen yoyo, complete opposite to what you ladies are looking at, it's super lightweight, perfect for the tube and plane travel. I don't think I'll be using it too much but when I do I want it to be nimble 👌🏾 mamas and papas and John Lewis are the shops we're heading to today if I can get off the sofa x

@Mrsi2020 haha yeah I'm really organised (in some ways) and just sent the list to OH so he can buy everything, I hate shopping! I haven't told family yet (apart from my sister) and don't plan to 'announce' on social media, if I do it'll probs be in passing like I'll just have a pic of myself with a bump at some point 😂

@Busybee143 my nephews are 15months apart and i think it's a great age gap they are so close, basically have their own little language ☺️ Think because the eldest was walking they didn't really need a double pram so just used a stroller board, but I imagine there are loads of options x

@Ltay2 ooh exciting your house will be all done and ready for a new bubba x

@blodyn91 hope you are feeling better and managed to get out for a walk x

@Madz123 anything nice planned for your week off?

No idea why my replies are always so long, apologies 😂

Mococo1 · 12/09/2020 11:59

@SmileyT could you let me know how the baby zen yo-yo is? That's one that I thought about as I saw a few people with it and thought ooh that looks good! Or I might do something that is compatible with a 360 car seat or whatever

Mrsi2020 · 12/09/2020 11:59

@blodyn91 fab! I had 3 wheels and 4 wheels for the apple and hated the 3 wheeler! I’d say the modern ones are far better now tho.

Omg @Catherinettc that’s a nice pram to get! Amazing

@SmileyT I couldn’t trust dh, he goes to the shop for ham and picks the most expensive with the shortest date on the shelf lmao xxx

Mococo1 · 12/09/2020 12:09

@Mrsi2020 same! 😂 mine looked at a really expensive silver cross in Harris's it was like £1750 and loved it all because it had a manly looking brown leather handle for him to push and he said well it's an investment 😂 I had to laugh! Draining our savings or what! Swiftly said nope😫

Sausage1990 · 12/09/2020 13:05

Hi ladies loving all the pram chat 😊 I don't really know what we will go for as I've not really looked yet (feel it's a bit too early) but my SIL highly recommended the Doona which is a car seat and pram all in one - Google it. Looks really good. For us a criteria thats super important is that's it's light enough to take up & down steps as we have quite a few steps up to out house so I need to be able to carry it up and down. It will probably only be the car seat that needs to be carried tho... I assume 😕
I'm really keen to try a sling/baby wrap to carry baby if possible. I just love the idea... Feel it would be easier for walks and going to the super market... I mean I ace no actual experience but they look good.

@Mustbemad82 I'm a FTM too and I work in the NHS as a dietitian specialising in diabetes (adults) 😊

@blodyn91 sorry the nausea is creeping up on your mroe these days - how annoying. Hopefully you're still managing to eat well tho as your job sounds like you definitely need the fuel.

I can't remember who was discussing the anxiety of a mmc but I'm with you guys too. There's alot of Leon ym life who've had mmc and knowing about it in real life makes it so much more scary however I am firmly with @SmileyT on this one that we cannot change the outcome either way so I'm trying hard to focus on this pregancy experience... Worrying won't make any bad news easier to deal with it just steals the joy from this moment.

Loving how chatty everyone is these last few days 😊 💕

Bl0ndi3 · 12/09/2020 13:21

I looked at prams when I was pregnant last time and I quite fancied the ickle bubba stomp v4 with an isofix base as planning on not spending a fortune on one (unless my parents pay haha) but it looks really good and got great reviews... ideally I want a lie flat and/or swivel isofix car seat so I might end up picking a pram and getting car seat separately with adapters as I think the car seat is more important than the pram.

It's so overwhelming there's so many!!

I like the look of the mamas and papas ones too for a bit more money. Icandy peach seems to be very popular and then there's the cosatto ones which are a bit funky and then your super expensive ones like silver cross haha.

Tip for any blue light holders there's good deals on online4baby.com :)

Busybee143 · 12/09/2020 14:30

@SmileyT I might look into one of those boards, I do a lot of walking so I'm not sure what's for the best yet. Glad to hear they had such a cute little relationship I hope ours are the same 😍

Ltay2 · 12/09/2020 14:41

Can't believe how expensive prams actually are! 😂 I haven't done much research into them tbh just a quick browse, my mum has said she will pay for a pram when we are ready but still don't want to take the piss and go for a mega expensive one when a cheaper one would do the same job! Maybe I need to watch some youtube reviews 🙈

Bl0ndi3 · 12/09/2020 14:51

@Ltay2 thanks mum I'd love this £5,000 gold plated pram love you 😘

I'm fairly certain my parents will pay for the pram I'm sure they did for my sisters and they're very consistent haha even then I'm the same and won't be going for mega bucks prams
