@blodyn91 haha yeh defo not going amdam anytime soon! Out of interest (and me being nosy) Do any of your friends know that you've even been planning?..I assume they would be really gobsmacked due to the wedding!

I got really anxious this morning/last night so booked a scan for today 🤣 but DH isn't allowed there... it was only £40 so can't complain if it reassures me!

Sausage1990 · 08/09/2020 12:36

@cathertinettc I hope your scan went okay today and I don't blame you for booking another scan @Mococo1... I would be tempted too if it wasn't so expensive.

I've finally got to 8 weeks lol because they changed my date by a couple of days at the scan it's felt like ages getting to 8 weeks! So now we have a little raspberry/kidney bean 💕

@cathertinettc yeah it's been a ride so far but I'm feeling calmer since my scan. I juts need to keep reminding myself that some small spotting is normal. Every person I've mentioned it to (mam, MIL & SIL) have said they had it too and all was fine so I just have to keep telling myself that. Oh and bye if it is twins don't panic lol my mam said its hard but the bond between those babies is so special (I'm a twin and she's talking about us lol).

@blodyn91 haha yeah maybe not Amsterdam lol. My friends keep talking about hen parties and their weddings next year (I have 2 to attend) and Im currently just going along with it all but in reality I won't be able to go away for hen parties as I'll have a little newborn... And I'm meant to be going my friends wedding cake in June but I don't know if that's going to be possible anymore... I think I might have to let her down 😬 it's a wierd phase isn't it, the secret part where you want to appear keen on plans but you know that you won't be doing it lol so wierd. Xx

Catherinettc · 08/09/2020 14:37

Girl couldn't see anything on scan so my own dates were right x

She said my lining is nice and thick and everything indicates pregnancy and has referred me to wpu for bloods etc.

Just did another digital for reassurance and its moved on a stage so I'm happy xx

Catherinettc · 08/09/2020 14:37

Epu lol x

Mococo1 · 08/09/2020 14:56

@Sausage1990 not expensive at all it was £45 from baby bond and guys I cannot recommend them enough!

They gave me so many scan pictures and videos to take home with me and the sonographer was so lovely and took his time (they were running a bit late but I've realised now it's just because they are very thorough.

Compared to WTTW we paid £79 got one pic and then a video cost us £10 extra just wasn't worth it compared to this place! Baby is 11w3days and I'm so happy I had the scan 😬 it was a great experience. Here's my not so little bean xxx

Mococo1 · 08/09/2020 14:56

@Catherinettc well done on the progression have epu given you a follow up date? Xx

Cocoblue22 · 08/09/2020 15:51

@Catherinettc glad you got reassurance from your CB test x

@Mococo1 hello cute little baby! ❤️ hope you feel reassured now too x

SmileyT · 08/09/2020 20:12

@Mrsi2020 I completely understand the anxiety and a lot of us in here do aswell. There is literally no judgement in this group, if you test 20 times or want to get 20 scans it's your life and your body so do whatever helps you enjoy the experience. I'm 13 weeks and I've had 4 scans and already booked my next one for the start of October... doesn't hurt anyone apart from my bank balance does it 😂

@Cocoblue22 yay for a vote on boy 🥰 3 weeks to wait for me... your gender scan is the end of September isn't it? P.S yeah I've looked at nub theory and skull theory all a bit of fun isn't it xx

@Catherinettc glad scan went well and at least you know where you are... we still have to wait to see if the twin thing is right though 🙌🏾 and yay to getting your 2-3 weeks x

@Mococo1 I love ultrasound direct/ babybond.... that's where I've had all my private scans. In the last pregnancy I had a really mean sonographer there but apart from that they've been absolutely fab. Which one did you go to? Proper little baby in there, it's crazy isn't it 🤯 I'm going to guess girl from that pic 🥰

Mococo1 · 08/09/2020 20:49

@SmileyT I went to the one in Ashford, Surrey but it's listed as the Heathrow branch for some reason 🧐 - will defo be going back there for a gender scan! I secretly want a girl but wouldn't mind a boy either as long as it's a healthy bub (but we all have our preferences I guess!)

next time I go I'm going to ask for the same one lol and only book when he's available!

@cocoblue22 yes very just waiting for the nhs scan letter now 🙄 we've decided to tell our parents this weekend as I'm only a few days off the 12w mark and if they scan closer to 14im scared I'll start to show so I'm excited about the that!

I vote boy on yours too btw 😆

@Mrsi2020 by the time I have my nuchal il have had 5scans on this bean and I've taken a trillion pregnancy tests it's crazy- so do what you need to do, no judgement here xx

Mococo1 · 08/09/2020 20:50

Sorry @SmileyT the boy was for you btw! @Cocoblue22 I'm undecided atm so waiting your next scan pic 😂👍🏽😬

Mrsi2020 · 08/09/2020 21:09

@Catherinettc I’m glad your dates were accurate and they’ve referred you, all sounds good! 🥰

@SmileyT thank you so much, that’s so lovely! I really want to try and force myself to relax. My sister said to, that when she was preg after a mc apparently I said to her “nothing you can do can change the outcome, but whether you’re pregnant for 4 weeks or 40 weeks all you can do is enjoy it and hope for the best” . I thought that was bloody good advice I gave her 🤣

@Mococo1 thank you! I love that we’re all crazy, it’s because we’re so invested in it and surely that’s not a bad thing 🤣 except for the bank balance, I’ve been pissing on tenners with these clearblues and FRERs lol

So .... who is planning on finding out what they’re having and who wants the surprise?! Xxx

zippityzip · 08/09/2020 21:22

@Mrsi2020 Pissing on tenners is the best description I've ever heard 😂 I have genuinely lost count of the amount of tests I've taken. I even took an IC the other day despite having had two scans just to make sure it's still there!!

Mines a surprise - we will find out on delivery day but I'm looking forward to all the speculation!

@Mococo1 That's a girl in there, all day long. Look how pretty she is already!!!! Our scans have gone from nuggets to actual children it's crazy. We were all just randoms with pee sticks not long ago.

You guys I had the BEST evening. You know those pickled chillis you get on chicken kebabs....? I was daydreaming about them allllllll day I had it in my head that I needed them and decided early on in the day I was ordering a kebab 😂 well you know on Uber Eats you can add notes I put something in there like "pregnancy craving - please add loads of chillis please!" Thinking I would get a few extra on top. I had a WHOLE container of chillis I've just spent the evening munching my way through and I'm so happy I think I had actual tears at one point. They even wrote on the paper bag "Only if you call the baby Donna" (doner kebab) so safe to say I'll be ordering from them on a weekly basis.

@Sausage1990 Im so glad you're feeling more reassured. When are you due for another scan?

@Catherinettc Good news it was positive even though you couldn't see much. How many weeks do you think you are?? Plenty of time for twins 😁

Mustbemad82 · 08/09/2020 21:32

God there’s so much going on in here I can’t keep up!!

@Mococo1 fab scan picture and I have no clue about gender - what’s your gut feeling?

@Mrsi2020. Did you say you were 40? Or am I getting muddled - I’m 38 and keep pinching myself

I have a further EPU scan on Friday and I’m hoping all is well
They think I may have a little cervical erosion or irritation so will see consultant to get checked up

I feel so fat and bloated . Please tell me other people have an aversion to green foods and are currently just eating what they fancy?

Also anyone’s motioning sickness actually strike after midday and gets worse into the evening

Also my foof! My word the pains and stinging and general feeling of being uncomfortable down there !

Mrsi2020 · 08/09/2020 21:37

@zippityzip lol it’s true! Even dh has commented on the cost altho thankfully he likes the reassurance as much as me (I also haven’t told him the exact cost, I’ve only mentioned the 50p clear and simple 🤣)

Aww I am currently one of them randoms with a million pee sticks lol - can not wait till I can compare scans!!!!

I have had both, surprise with DD1 and found out with DD2, surprise was defo better. For me anyway. The excitement until the last second was real. Even with DD2 I really wanted a girl anyway, but everyone else wasn’t bothered once they knew what I was having! They all said the same, there was nothing to wonder about really xxx

Mrsi2020 · 08/09/2020 21:38

@zippityzip OMG I love your kebab shop - that is BRILLIANT!!! 🤣🤣🤣

Mrsi2020 · 08/09/2020 21:39

@Mustbemad82 no 34! Lol i said I’ll be 40 at the school 🤣

I had sickness the whole way through from about 8 weeks till the end with my other pregs, so that is one thing I’m not looking forward to! Xxx

zippityzip · 08/09/2020 21:39

@Mustbemad82 I feel randomly off colour in the morning but the evening is when I'm usually sick or horrifically nauseous. I'm 11 weeks now so hoping it eases off soon! I also feel you with the fat and bloated. It sucks.

Busybee143 · 08/09/2020 22:10

@zippityzip I've had a kebab tonight too 😂
@Mustbemad82 I'm having a massive aversion to green food the last couple of days, its not like me to have a kebab on a Tuesday although we did have a birthday!
Ive had pains today on the left of my uterus and I'm worrying a little.

blodyn91 · 08/09/2020 22:18

@zippityzip what an amazing kebab shop!

@Mococo1 nope, none of my friends knew we were trying and its going to be a huge shock. 3 of us are now getting married next year, one 2 weeks before me 😳 so I think she might be gutted as ill miss her hen and have a baby at the wedding. Its not just the fact we are getting married next year, but also the fact im the least motherly person there is 🙈 and im obsessed with sports so most people thought we would probably never have kids. But Im sure Ill be an OK mum 😳 (this is what I panic about) 🙈

Sausage1990 · 08/09/2020 23:25

@Mococo1 I'm so excited for you to tell your family on the weekend - are you planning on telling them in a creative way?

@mrsi2020 I think the advice you gave your sister is great advice. Tbh it's what I keep telling myself over & over. And I'm keeping it a suprise too 😊 I think DH would be happy enough to find out but we'll be keeping it a suprise!

@zippityzip yeah me too. I mean I still get anxious but I'm getting better at talking myself down. My next scan is my NHS 12 week scan... I would like a private 10 week scan and I have found somewhere more local to me thats cheaper (£50) but I don't know if DH would be up for it. I just know thay we're still in a very crucial growing stage that good growth between now and 10 weeks is super important to predict the outcome of the pregnancy. So part of me is like I'd really like another scan in 2 weeks to check BUT my booking midwife said thay do scans between 11-13 weeks and they have me 1 week ahead of where I actually am (having worked my dates out from LMP) so I could potentially have a scan in 2-3 weeks time... And therefore don't need to book a private one if that's the case. So I'm tempted to try to leave it as long as I can. If I get too anxious or my symptoms change I may book something last minute. Gosh sorry that was a rambling reply 😂🙈

@Mustbemad82 my sickness is all over the place. The say 30mins after waking I feel OK but then I need to eat or I feel like death warmed up. And t h it's the same all day. I need to eat something every 2hrs and if I go too long without food I feel Horrific. I've also started dry retching randomly. I've only been sick once thankfully but the retching is quite uncomfortable.

Symptom wise I still have mild intermittent cramps, small amounts of brown spotting when I wipe every few days, and my back aches a fair amount. I think it's all normal but it's definitely not what I expected lol. What about you guys? Symptom wise?

Gosh sorry - long reply!!

Sausage1990 · 08/09/2020 23:30

Oh and @blodyn91 I think you're going to be a great Mam. My mam wants the most maternal person and has bearly held a baby before she has us, and she's the best mam (and she did it with twins). I actually quite like it when announcements are a big suprise. I mean announcements are a suprise but slightly less so sometimes and I'm in the less so category I think. I got married last year (nearly a year ago), me an DH have been together nearly 11years, I'm 30 and I love babies & always have... I love it when reactions are like 😲😲😲 as well as thrilled. Xx

Sausage1990 · 08/09/2020 23:32

@blodyn91 my mam WASN'T the most maternal (sorry auto correct altered the whole meaning of the sentence 😂)

Mococo1 · 09/09/2020 07:49

@blodyn91 how exciting it's gna be when you tell them the news..and your friend will defo understand! I think you're quite motherly already 😬👍🏽 tbh I don't get why its essential these days to 'to be classed as motherly' before you're an actual mother technically doesn't make any sense 😂 we all have the same worry and you will be a brilliant mum!

@Sausage1990 thank you! I'm reassured a bit, hope I can start bonding as I've tried to ignore it to protect myself due to my previous MCs! Hope your sickness is helping to reassure you more now 😬

lol I was also planning on waiting for my nuchal scan but since they don't want to send me a letter anytime soon I did an impulse scan 🤣 haven't decided how to tell them yet!

Was thinking maybe a video montage of all the scan pics/videos and the vid of my husband finding out - would just call them all round and cast it to the TV lol! Does anyone have any ideas it's going to be 5 people (both sets of parents and my SIL)

@zippityzip Donna😂😂😂 pickles sounds like heaven!

@Mustbemad82 wouldn't say aversion more just don't fancy anything green at all! and I think atm we all love a bit of beige 🤣 I don't have a gut feeling atm it keeps changing lol

@Mrsi2020 pissing on tenners 🤣🤣🤣

@Busybee143 try not to worry could just be a bit of stretching- if they get really painful/shooting pains then I would call epu incase

Ladies from previous experiences when does fatigue go? I'm so tired, DH says I always want to sleep at 4pm I need a nap but due to work have to try and plough through. I'm starting to
Worry if I will be able to handle a newborn waking up for night feeds 😩

zippityzip · 09/09/2020 08:06

@Mococo1 This is the worst bit for fatigue. You're literally growing a whole new body - organs etc. Second trimester is better. Then you're tired again 3rd trimester because you're up peeing every fifteen minutes in the night.

But, night feeds you just crack on. Yeah you're tired but your human instinct to keep your baby alive trumps it 😂
Plus with your first you can actually fuck the housework off and nap for an hour in the day. Whereas I'll be up doing the school run.

zippityzip · 09/09/2020 08:14

And @blodyn91 honestly don't stress. The fact you're worrying about it means you're already a good mum.

I currently work in safeguarding and the amount of absolutely useless and downright awful selfish scummy, quite frankly, terrible arseholes that have kids - even they sometimes to manage to create well rounded humans.

And judging by the feedback from my social care "colleagues" (I don't rate them) the standard is set very very low for an acceptable parent from a legal standpoint.

You're already way above that.
