@MrsEmilyB So glad you're ok, been thinking of you! That's good about EPU being so supportive too! I'm excited for my scan now but just hoping I'm not setting myself up for a fail.

Sausage1990 · 03/09/2020 08:37

@MrsEmilyB oh I'm glad you're doing okay & that EPU are looking after you 😊 it's good to have that support & reassurance. I think I'm feeling the same as @Ltay2 about the scan tbh, I am looking forward to it but I'm just hoping I'm not setting myself up for the worst. I suppose either way I'm going to be heart broken of the news isn't good so I may as well enjoy it unless I'm told otherwise. Trying to protect myself emotionally is a bit pointless really because I've already started thinking about everything baby related already so even if I don't admit it to anyone else I've already gone there and I'm fully in. God does any of that make sense? Feels like silly rambling haha but essentially yes I am looking forward to it, Im also bricking it 😂

Mustbemad82 · 03/09/2020 09:01

Oh I get that @Sausage1990 and @Ltay2
I’ve got one today and I’m absolutely petrified

Mococo1 · 03/09/2020 09:05

@Mustbemad82 good luck with your scan today hope all goes well ❤️❤️

Sausage1990 · 03/09/2020 10:40

@Mustbemad82 good luck at your scan 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 it will all be good in sure 💕

Ltay2 · 03/09/2020 11:24

@Sausage1990 Yes that is exactly it! Pointless worrying as will be devastating whether you think you're prepared for bad news or not, but then can't stop worrying anyway!!

@Mustbemad82 Good luck with your scan! ❤️

Busybee143 · 03/09/2020 13:36

@Sausage1990 I hear you, I found out bad news at my scan last time so I'm terrified and I'm only 6 weeks!! I'm sure we will all be OK but it's always in the back of your mind. I think once I'm past 8 weeks I'll be better as that's when I had my lost recent miscarriage, 2 more weeks to go. I'm also not ringing for a booking appointment for another couple of weeks.

Sausage1990 · 03/09/2020 15:37

@busybee143 I'm sure we will all be fine, it's just hard when you don't know what's going on inside your own body. I was super anxious up until about 6 weeks but I've relaxed a bit more recently... This week is however going very very very slow.

Hope you're all having good days and noone is feeling too horrific today. Xx

Busybee143 · 03/09/2020 16:50

@Sausage1990 I'm sure you're right!!
I'm bloody shattered today guys!

Ltay2 · 03/09/2020 18:57

I have been physically sick twice today 😩 was all set to make myself some tea, had a quick shower beforehand and then ended up heaving over the bathroom sink 🤢 so much worse when you don't actually have anything to bring up (gross I know, sorry for anyone actually managing to eat right now 😂) now trying to summon some energy/hunger back to eat something as I know ultimately it will make me feel better!

Cocoblue22 · 03/09/2020 19:23

Thanks for the well wishes @Ltay2 @LittleRa @Busybee143 @Sausage1990 @SmileyT @Mococo1 @blodyn91 🥰 x

@LittleRa I'll have a c section at 39 weeks so the birth date will be the week before more like 5th x

@Busybee143 I'd say there's a good chance they will be allowed by then x

@SmileyT yeah I've booked my 16 week one but I'll actually be 17 weeks! Can't wait to find out! X

@Mococo1 yes deffo possible to show early! I showed early with DS could deffo tell by 12/13 weeks this time it was 10 weeks now I look very preg already! Deffo no hiding it for me! X

@Ltay2 oh no that sounds like a rough evening boo to being sick x

blodyn91 · 03/09/2020 20:57

@Cocoblue22 can I ask why you are having a c-section? My sister had 2, one emergency and the second because the umbilical cord was going to come out first so she had a c section 2 weeks early.

Feel so sorry for all of you feeling ill, I definitely count myself lucky. Managed a 30mins run today, warm up for my triathlon on Sunday! 😳

Sausage1990 · 03/09/2020 20:59

Omg @Ltay2 we're in sync in the worst way. I've been sick today too. I'm currently in the same boat you were earlier, I ended to est as it will make me feel better but feeling gross an pukey 🤢 what a feeling. Thankfully DH is home and is making me some toast 👍🏻

FairyLights2 · 04/09/2020 00:36

It's so hard for me to keep up! But I just saw your message @Cocoblue22 So happy your scan went well for you ❤️ congrats x

Ltay2 · 04/09/2020 07:25

@Sausage1990 Urgh horrible isn't it! I managed some grapes and carrots and a microwave pizza again 🙈 had some weetabix this morning too but then was talking to OH and randomly nearly brought it back up 🤢

SmileyT · 04/09/2020 07:26

TGIF... @zippityzip hope all goes fab at your scan today ❤️ cannot wait for mine on Monday now, actually no longer nervous and just excited (it's dating scan/ 12w @Busybee143)

@Mococo1 honestly only announce when you're ready I don't understand the big hype with needing to tell people 6 months before you give birth 🤷🏾‍♀️ went for dinner with my friend last night and she was implying it was mean for me not to tell my mum until 18weeks, I just genuinely don't know what it is she'll be doing between 12 and 18w as a grandma that she is missing out on, I feel like 22w is plenty of time for people to get excited and hopefully past the anxiety point 😤

@Mustbemad82 hope the scan went well yesterday ❤️

Hope all those feeling sick start to feel a bit better soon, first trimester is bloody exhausting xx

zippityzip · 04/09/2020 07:29

Morning @SmileyT thank you! I'm quite nervous this morning. Need to calm myself 😂
Sorry I've been awol been too busy getting my shit together for my degree and work just exploded and eldest DD having some emotional issues so I'm wiped out. Going to catch up when I'm out of hospital.

Hope you're all well ladies xx

Mustbemad82 · 04/09/2020 07:48

@SmileyT thanks yes measuring 7+1
Nausea a little more settled this morning but tends to be worse at night to be honest

Still absolutely terrified of a MMC! I don’t know whether I’ve built myself into a frenzy or I’m stressing cos of my age (38)
Trying to take one day at a time but it’s hard - also staying away from google and the horror stories

How is everyone else getting on

Cocoblue22 · 04/09/2020 09:20

@blodyn91 it's because I had a very difficult and traumatic birth with DS (shoulder dystocia) which did a lot of damage and needed massive repairs but thankfully DS was absolutely perfect and I did heal and recover eventually but it took a long time. I'm at increased risk of it happening again and if it did it would be even worse due to scar tissue (doesn't stretch) and I definitely wouldn't recover so well next time (I was incredibly lucky and had amazing surgeons and aftercare). So I'll have an elective c section as it's safer for me and for baby and I also worry that I was quite traumatised by last time and whether that would also affect how well I would push etc. Already been signed off so I'm happy that I know the plan of action and hopefully it will be more controlled and calmer this time. Don't worry though it's very rare and I was just unlucky but also lucky because all ended well and it could of been a lot worse so I'm forever grateful for that x

@FairyLights2 thank you 🥰 it was lovely x

@zippityzip good luck today x

@Mustbemad82 glad all is still going well. Try and stay positive x

I'm sure I felt my baby wriggling in the night felt like I was being flicked from the inside ever so gently and literally no more than a few mins! I'm 13w and they do say second time you feel it earlier I was about 16/17 weeks when I started to feel DS x

blodyn91 · 04/09/2020 09:51

Anybody else constantly thirsty? Read its to do with increase blood volume and low blood pressure which I definitely have! I fall over when I get out of bed now and get dizzy when I stand up after sitting down. Be interesting to see what my blood pressure is next Friday, it was already low! 🙈 I don't think its an issue though, just need to slowly get up and remeber that.
My blueberry has been promoted to a raspberry today 😄

blodyn91 · 04/09/2020 09:56

@Cocoblue22 similar but different to my sister, she ended up with an emergency C section with her first, then her second was planned (but due to being in a dangerous position). She was so ill after her first, but with the 2nd as it was planned it went sooo smoothly, she even had a good night sleep before as she was already in hospital which obviously helps with recovery. So im sure yours will also be a completely different experience. Glad you've recovered and were looked after well

zippityzip · 04/09/2020 10:20

Hey ladies. So I've lost a couple of days I'm currently 10+1 and due on April Fools Day!
Have to be rescanned in two weeks for the screening to go ahead.

The sonographer was the rudest woman I've ever come across. Abrupt. Rude. Unnecessarily rushed everything and kicked me out whilst I was still pulling my trousers up. She looked at me like I was a idiot for asking to buy a photo (£5 each?! Daylight robbery) so my DH could see.
She told me what's the point it's so small now?!

She's lucky, after the week I've had I didn't punch her. I hope I don't get her again in two weeks.

She made my get my trousers down which I expected but then she's going "more, more, further down" so that my fanny was practically in her face. Then after all that fuss she started digging around in my pelvis and looked confused when she couldn't see anything.

I was like, it's up here, where the big belly is.

So yeah all in all not a great experience - she just vaguely said that everything was as expected for that gestation and make me feel about 5 years old for asking questions. I'm pleased it's all looking good - just don't feel entirely reassured!

I've got the day off now so I'm going to chill out by myself as the kids are back at school and eat crisps all day.

Hope you lovely ladies are doing well!!

blodyn91 · 04/09/2020 10:29

@zippityzip omg definitely deserved a punch! was that NHS scan? I would file a complaint, imagine if that was your first scan. Why do people like that work in this sector!

zippityzip · 04/09/2020 10:30

@blodyn91 CONSTANTLY thirsty. I'm drinking gallons and then peeing all night. I'm also very very aware of my heart beat. Just be careful to keep an eye on your BP.

zippityzip · 04/09/2020 10:30

@blodyn91 Yep NHS scan - I just don't get what her problem is. But if I complained I would guaranteed get her next time!
