@Sausage1990 thank you for your thoughts and advice, I'm back on it as of today. My body is going to have to accept better things today whether it likes it or not!!

zippityzip · 01/09/2020 06:12

@Sausage1990 How interesting is that!!! Sounds like a fab job.
I have my gestational diabetes test booked for 16 weeks 🙄 I hate that syrup I'm going to have to drink.

@LittleRa Good luck for your first day back and your scan!

LittleRa · 01/09/2020 06:49

@Sausage1990 Interesting job, thanks for the info!

@zippityzip Thank you! 💕

Busybee143 · 01/09/2020 07:10

@LittleRa I'm back today too, I'm very nervous!
Is anybody else struggling during the night? I woke twice last night with horrendous cramps and sorry for Tmi but each time I passed wind and had to go to the toilet, not fir a wee ha! Ive usually been very rdgular in that department and never have to go during the night. I'm sorry for the tmi but can anyone give me some advice? I'm loosing sleep and I'm back at work today 🙁

zippityzip · 01/09/2020 07:17

@Busybee143 Like you I had a shit nights sleep too. Probably about 3 hours. I've struggled this first trimester with sleep. I'm up every hour having a wee and then I'm sweating and then my mind starts wondering and before I know it, it's 5am.

Although, painful has, cramps, changes to bowel movements is all very very normal. Pooping more or becoming constipated is also the norm.

Your bowels are becoming quite slack, hormonal changes, pressure on your bladder etc. You're fine! Just drink plenty of water and eat high fibre foods.

zippityzip · 01/09/2020 07:18

Gas**

blodyn91 · 01/09/2020 07:54

@Busybee143 Couple of bad days are fineee, I had kfc last Friday, then felt crap on Saturday so said im never having kfc again 😆 As Zippy said high fibre food and plenty of water. Also running helps me go to the toilet if anybody suffers with constipation 🙈
Good luck back at work everyone!

Mococo1 · 01/09/2020 09:40

@blodyn91 @Busybee143 I've been really bad with my diet as I'm craving fizzy sweets/cola lately 😫 and don't fancy my norm foods

I've weighed myself and haven't put on any weight but am eating significantly a lot more- am joining Sw back on weds to help reduce weight gain during the pregnancy but the idea of some of the food (yogurt etc makes me want to be sick so not sure how well I will actually do) only good thing is my chocolate intake has reduced a lot...feel so hungry and sick this morning and have a very poorly post shoulder op DH and manic day wfh😩 wish me luck!

zippityzip · 01/09/2020 10:28

@Mococo1 I hear you with the food. Currently eating cold spaghetti out of the can at my home desk because it was the only thing I looked at that didn't make me want to cry.

I'm so overtired I'm an emotional wreck. Just essentially had an argument with a client over the phone (she needed to be told to be honest, but I wasn't as diplomatic as I world be normally).

Hope your DH is ok - and just do what you can WFH. Don't put pressure on yourself.

Mococo1 · 01/09/2020 12:37

@zippityzip thank you he's doing alright being a good patient and feels very guilty I'm having to help out, tbh I'm usually really clean and have left our washing for the past two days so he's being extra nice atm- can totally get your feeling with food and canned spaghetti actually sounds like heaven to me right now!

Sickness has gone thankfully after my weetabix and I called up the ultrasound department she said they have my request there but will contact me in a 'few weeks' I'm 10+5 in their books so I should hope it's soon 😕 she said they don't give much notice with scans which she understands isn't convenient but by law work is required to give you the time off (but I totally do not want to tell them yet 🤬) . Think il wait to see if I get a letter by the end of next week if not il have a private scan inbetween 😬 x

blodyn91 · 01/09/2020 13:02

@Mococo1 is this for your booking in appointment as well? where do you live again? Really not fair on you at all! I've a 4 week notice, plus its at 5:30 anyway so don't have to even book time off work. Haven't got scan date though.

Sausage1990 · 01/09/2020 13:29

@Mococo1 that seems really unreasonable to give you such little notice. It's all very well that work has to give you time off but it's not always that easy.

I had my booking call yesterday which was good. They put me as low risk and under midwifery lead care 👍🏻 which I'm really pleased about, I thought they might not given my bmi & family history of pre-eclampsia but they said no it's fine, you jusg need to take a baby aspirin from 12 weeks. They have me as 8 weeks based on my LMP and said the scans are usually between 11-13weeks. I don't want to tell work until after the 12 week scan either so if the appointment isn't suitable for me to work around then I will have to ask for a different one. Work will let me have time off but if I've got a booked clinic then it's not possible. Maybe you'll have to do the same 😕

zippityzip · 01/09/2020 14:14

@Mococo1 That's actually quite shit - what Trust are you with? When mine agreed to take me, I got my appointment letters within a week! And once I saw the midwife I am booked in for everything in advance until November!!

Busybee143 · 01/09/2020 14:50

@zippityzip glad it's normal then, so worried something bad will happen.
@blodyn91 @Mococo1 it's not just me then with the bad diet, I have been eating better today!!

Mococo1 · 01/09/2020 15:01

@blodyn91 @zippityzip just my dating scan!

I had my booking appt at 9 weeks and that came sooo quickly they then they refer you for the scan after the booking appointment rather than in advance so technically it's only been 10 days since that - I have a 16/17w midwife appointment already booked 🤣 so it's strange

I'm with Chelsea and west minister trust so really thought they would be a bit more efficient I'm hoping they mean a weeks notice as short notice. I know il have no problem taking time off work as my manager is really flexible like that. I just don't want them to tell me like a day before when I need to find someone to cover all my tasks c

LittleRa · 01/09/2020 16:11

Well ladies, after me believing I’m 11+4 and the midwife booking in appt calculations putting me at 12+3, my scan today has dated me at.....

13 WEEKS!!! 😱😱😱 She wavered between 13+0 and 13+1 and went for 13+0 exactly.

With an EDD of 8th March!
Scan pic attached!

Omg @LittleRa what a gorgeous scan 💕💕💕 and 13 weeks!!! Look at you jumping ahead a few weeks 😂 love it. So glad it all went well 😊

Mococo1 · 01/09/2020 16:17

@LittleRa soo cute and congratulations!!! I'm shocked how you are ten days ahead!! 👌🏽👌🏽 that's amazing you must have had a shorter cycle this time round or had early ovulation
Did you track when ttc?

Ahh I'm so excited for my scan your little one looks adorable in yours 😍 😍 yaaaay 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽

zippityzip · 01/09/2020 16:23

@LittleRa YOU HAVE A BABYYYYYY!!! A proper little cute baby!!! Fingers toes feet everything. Gorgeous!!!!

Busybee143 · 01/09/2020 16:30

@LittleRa congratulations I'm really happy for yoy

SmileyT · 01/09/2020 16:46

@LittleRa yay to another successful scan 🙌🏾

and @Mococo1 just remember that your dating can change before the 12 week scan as the little beans grow at different rates. My first scan had me dead on with dates and the 3rd one she measured me ahead, they just use average measurements as a guide before they officially date you (I only realised this the other day so thought I'd share, if you already knew this just ignore me 🙈)

Can't believe Tuesday is over already, love busy days at work that don't feel completely hellish 👌🏾

@LittleRa wow! What a beauty!!!

@blodyn91 just went on a run woo! Only 15 mins - thought I'd follow NHS beginner exercise guidelines as I've been out of the game for a good few months now :( and nope still really want to go for a swim, never been to the local pool. Scared it's going to be grotty as it links to the high school but I will brave it soon. Wooo for DTD too 🎉

@SmileyT what weights and stuff do you do?

On the food front... I keep buying really healthy ingredients to make some of my usual and some new recipes, but by the time tea rolls around, I can't stand the thought of them plus no energy to cook 🤢 so just end up eating beige crap. Had to go for a mate's bday curry last night, only managed two mouthfuls and a samosa and was in proper agony all night with bloat and trapped wind 😭 need to get healthy now, just a cycle of eating shit / sleeping shit / eating shit and not exercising because I'm tired

Cocoblue22 · 01/09/2020 17:06

@Busybee143 in regards to the diet I'm just eating what I feel like so not really five a day although I've been eating an apple and an orange most days. Just had a Taco Bell for the first time ever and that was nice! X

Hospital just rang to check in still going tomorrow and DH still can't come into the scan boo! X

@LittleRa such a perfect scan! Yay!! Can't believe you're further along than you thought!!

LittleRa · 01/09/2020 18:15

Thank you @Sausage1990 @Mococo1 @zippityzip @Busybee143 @SmileyT @samilicious @Cocoblue22 !!

I was tracking my periods, but not using OPKs or anything and it was only my second month off the pill, so I guess cycles could’ve been a little irregular. I did get a very strong line (dye stealer!) when I tested at what I thought was 14dpo but maybe it was later than that. We were doing SMEP so I couldn’t pinpoint a specific ovulation/conception date!

At the scan, baby was very wriggly! Started off upside down! Then turned around, faced both ways, faced the front, kicking legs and waving arms! The sonographer said all looks healthy, showed me the heart beating, the brain, spinal chord and arms and legs. She showed me the nuchal fluid that can indicate anomalies and said it looked a good, normal thickness. I also had blood taken which they look at together with the scan measurements- if all is fine I hear by letter in a few weeks, if there’s risk of anomalies I get a phone call in next few days. So she said no news is good news. I got 3 photos (free). Next scan booked for 14th October!

Hope everyone is doing well! 💕

Sausage1990 · 01/09/2020 18:27

Awww thats lush @LittleRa 💕

Question to all you ladies - is anyone going to keep the gender a suprise until birth? I really want to (and wlhave always wanted a suprise) but it seems that's not the norm anymore... Just curious as to what you guys are thinking? Xx
