@Bl0ndi3 I've been thinking about you! So glad to hear that you've been able to track and I wish nothing more than for you to be back on this thread in a couple of weeks 😍 fingers and toes crossed for you and hope you enjoy your 30th birthday love 💕 XX

Mococo1 · 31/08/2020 09:11

@Busybee143 welcome! I was the same situation and very anxious- I've just found being on the group really supportive and have now made it to ten weeks ❤️ if there is anything Extra we can do to support/reassure you please let us know xxx

@MrsEmilyB hugs please don't freak out yet hun! Hopefully EPU call you back, as @smileyt said they make ask you to come back in another few weeks as they may not catch much yet on scan (nothing to worry about as still very early) but atleast they can take some bloods in the meanwhile 🙂

I have to say yay to your 3+ on clearblue defo means something is rising in there and if you're only 5+3 that's a great achievement as I know some women don't even get 3+ until past 6weeks x

I wish we had more of an American system where they take bloods around the 6w mark and check levels are rising appropriately etc and then just ultrasound you there and then 😫 would be so much more reassuring for us women eh x

MrsEmilyB · 31/08/2020 09:16

@Mococo1 thank you ❤️❤️ I'm hoping I made a fuss about nothing. I've realised I'm 5+5/6 but still glad to get 3+

Fingers crossed the bbt drop is due to only having 4 hours sleep and it being a lot chillier!

Ltay2 · 31/08/2020 09:21

@SmileyT You definitely haven't made it worse at all! Just me being silly really. I know that even if it is bad news next weekend I'll deal with it as anyone would and that's all I can do.

@MrsEmilyB It's horrible isn't it, but also so silly because I have no reason to feel this way. I've had nothing even remotely worrying happen so far! Yeah it's good to be informed but it can be scary too.

@samilicious I'm so looking forward to telling OH parents after the scan next weekend. Whilst it means getting over the scan hurdle it's something nice to look forward to!

I've decided that after my scan next weekend once I know everything is ok I will finally allow myself to have a bath. I've been too scared to so far but I've bought a floating duck bath thermometer and baby bubble bath which will help my anxieties so I know it's not too hot and I know the bubble bath doesn't contain any weird and wonderful things (and the thermometer will also be useful for when baby is here!)

I feel sorry for you all with the food aversions, I am the opposite at the minute just eating everything in sight 😂 the only thing I've gone off slightly is regular tea with milk, but I have been drinking green tea and lemon and ginger tea. Had a massive roast beef dinner last night and a massive bowl of porridge and honey this morning 🐷 and we're going to take advantage of the 50% off today and have subway for lunch 🙊

Mococo1 · 31/08/2020 09:59

@MrsEmilyB never apologise for making a fuss over anything! You have to do whatever is right for you to reassure yourself

@Ltay2 defo made me crave subway lol! X

Busybee143 · 31/08/2020 10:01

@Sausage1990 glad to hear all is well, good luck for your scan!

@SmileyT @blodyn91 hello again, glad to see your well!!

I am a bit concerned about my cramping as its waking me up and keeping me up at night for a good hour usually, I have to try and go to the toilet and then try and get comfy so I can sleep again. I'm back to work tomorrow too so I'm dreading an early get up after a potentially bad night. I'm also worried because I had bad cramps last time and it didn't end well.

MrsEmilyB · 31/08/2020 13:50

@Mococo1 thank you ❤️ they called back and said I was too early to scan even at the NHS date of 6+2 so I guess I'll have to wait. Apparently the EPU closest to me doesn't do Dr review so I'd need to move my care to another hospital further away which wouldn't be ideal, or present to A&E which again, wouldn't be ideal with all the bugs flying around!!

Is anyone still temping?? 😂 I didn't even realise I should stop. The midwife was like "what's temperature got to do with it?" 🤔😅 so hopefully I'm just worrying about nothing there. Going to take the dog for a nice walk and get pizza for tea.

zippityzip · 31/08/2020 15:47

Sorry I've been AWOL this weekend just catching up.

@Amy00 I'm so sorry. That's utter shit. Are you ok?

@Sausage1990 I'll join you with the blood hound nose. I was like this will my other two pregnancies and I can smell a drain from a mile away it is like a blessing and a curse.

@MrsEmilyB I actually liked the nosecco and becks blue is a pretty good alternative to beer. I'm drinking tonic water by the bucket so may try some of the alcohol free gins.

@SmileyT I'm sorry but we can't be friends. My wedding cake was made of cheese. Cheese on everything. Cheddar, Parmesan, mozzarella, gorgonzola, cottage cheese, Philadelphia, ricotta, Red Leicester, Brie, Camembert, feta, haloumi. All gifts from god.

@Ltay2 I had a scan 3 weeks ago at 7 weeks. Now I'm 10 weeks and I haven't had sickness for the last two days I'm absolutely convinced it's all ended for me. So I understand your stress!!

@Bl0ndi3 SO NICE TO HEAR FROM YOU! I hope you were baby dancing all over the peak. Great news you're back in your cycle again. How are you feeling?

@MrsEmilyB I'm really glad the spotting has stopped. Hopefully the cramps go away.

zippityzip · 31/08/2020 15:50

DH has started planning on how to do the bedrooms when the new baby comes as we will prob move the DDs in the larger room as they still want to share (princess bunk beds). Then there's me thinking the baby will still be in our room for 6 months what's the rush 🙄 I'm literally not even three months pregnant.

I'm literally gonna buy a Moses basket and some nappies. The only thing I want that could be a bit pricey is a glider chair 😂 for night feeds. But that's for me!

So for the last two days I haven't even had a hint of sickness. So maybe that's why I'm not excited I'm just worried it's all over before it has begun. I saw the babies heartbeat three weeks ago and now it just doesn't feel real anymore. I have a scan on Friday 🤞🏻

Amy00 · 31/08/2020 17:16

Thanks ladies to those that have messaged. I spoke to the EPU yesterday and they won't scan me until 7 days after my previous scan from Saturday as they want to be sure there is no change in measurements before they take the next steps. So next scan on Monday. I told them how sure I was on dates with tracking ovulation etc so there is absolutely no chance I have mistaken 5-6 weeks for 8 weeks but they were having none of it.

I've now seriously got my fingers crossed my body clocks on and passes it naturally this week when I could feasibly take time off work, rather than next week when I'll be flat out at work and taking time off isn't an option and sick leave will be really difficult/impossible to get someone to cover as it's a critical time. And I really really don't want to have to tell anyone at work the truth. So I'm struggling mainly with this delay in moving forwards really.

I don't want to post much on here about this experience really as I think this thread is nicer being full of positivity so I've been quiet. But thinking of you all and hoping to be back within a couple of months! X

blodyn91 · 31/08/2020 18:10

@zippityzip yes to another cheese lover! Although I will have a proper fruit cake wedding cake as I also love them with marzipan and icing 😆
Went out to Ludlow today for lunch and ended up buying lots of new jumper s as there was a sale on in Jules and Crewe 😳 but I think ill fit in my size 10 clothes for agggeess. There are two cute baby clothes shops there, so hard to not buy anything!!

@Amy00 that is crap you have to wait! And fully understand that you don't want to tell anyone at work. Cant even imagine what you are going through ♥️

Cocoblue22 · 31/08/2020 19:26

@Amy00 that's such an awful situation to be in I really feel for you I'm so sad that you are going through this. Feel free to talk as much as you need to we are here for you don't bottle it up x

I've just ordered some nachos for the second time this week I really really like them at the moment! Not the healthiest choice out there x

SmileyT · 31/08/2020 19:40

@LittleRa hope you have a fab scan experience tomorrow and the return to work isn't too hellish ❤️

@blodyn91 yes I've been thinking in 5months time I'll probably be carrying an extra 20lbs around with me everyday so need to build that strength back up 💪 and yes actually I've tried Philadelphia light once as I used it to make a cheesecake #soadventurous

@MrsEmilyB how are you feeling after your walk? I've been thinking about Pizza all day now so OH is going to order when he gets in 🤤 I'm not sure if it's up your street but there are some good first trimester meditations on YouTube for trying to switch your mindset a bit. Please rest assured that we've all felt the fear and anxiety, I just found it so exhausting and decided that if something bad happened by worrying about it beforehand I would go through the misery twice. I guess the thing to ask yourself with temping is, what are you now trying to get out of it? x

@Ltay2 yes have that bath, I had one on Saturday night and it was great, I'm curious to see how you find taking the bath temp apparently the temp they recommend it absolutely freezing 🥶

@Busybee143 I found in the really early days my tummy was just in bits, it felt like pain in the uterus but turns out it was just constipation/ gas and upping my fruit really helped 😂

@zippityzip we're still friends, I don't let people leave me that easily 😂 I promise to try more cheese. Also I think it's totally natural to feel more anxious on the run up to the scan, but you're at the stage when placenta will have taken over so it's normal for symptoms to subside. Hope Friday comes along soon, and they throw in a bonus scan for you in a couple weeks aswell x

@Amy00 totally understand that you don't want to tell work, especially if this is the new job... but just remember to put yourself first, if you need the time take it and lie about the reason. I'm so suprised they are making you wait as when I discovered my MMC at a private scan I went straight into the hospital and had surgery the next morning, it's crazy how different hospitals have completely different rules 😩 thinking of you xx

Ltay2 · 31/08/2020 20:03

@SmileyT I am fully expecting the bath to be awful temperature wise 😂 one of the reasons I got a thermometer as I don't trust myself to make it cool enough - I love a mega hot bath.

LittleRa · 31/08/2020 20:07

@SmileyT Thank you! I can’t wait, I’m excited and nervous, argh I just hope it’s all ok!!

Cocoblue22 · 31/08/2020 20:35

@SmileyT I've been having a bath of 37degrees and it's fine it's cold when it goes to 35 so just need to keep topping it up! @Ltay2 let us know what you think x

@LittleRa good luck tomorrow going back to work and good luck with scan! Let us know how you get on so exciting! X

LittleRa · 31/08/2020 20:41

Thank you @Cocoblue22 💕

Busybee143 · 31/08/2020 21:20

@SmileyT I will try more fruit thanks for the tip. I've been a bit naughty today and I've only had one of my 5 a day (spinach) and I've just eaten a KFC now :/ so I'm feeling a little guilty. Are all you guys being super cautious with your diets now your pregnant? I had a bad day yesterday too but only because I was so ill.

blodyn91 · 31/08/2020 21:33

@Busybee143 I eat pretty healthy anyway, so most meals are home cooked. I also try and buy a variety of different fruit and veg every week to mix things up. Only thing thats the same is breakfast, porridge with strawberry, blueberries , honey and some remaining seeds from seed cycling 😋 Trying to avoid sugary stuff, but pudding as a treat is ok 😄 Im very scared of putting weight on as I have a wedding dress to fit into 8weeks post partum 😳

blodyn91 · 31/08/2020 21:34

@Busybee143 also the worse I eat the worse I feel

Busybee143 · 31/08/2020 22:27

@blodyn91 I agree with it making you feel bad. I'm the same as you I normally eat really well, everything being home made as I cook for our 14mo too but just had a bad couple of days

Sausage1990 · 31/08/2020 23:02

@busybee143 I wouldn't worry you much about 1st trimester. Obviously eat as well as you can but don't put yourself under pressure if you're not able to est as healthy as you'd like. You've got just try to give your body energy right now and that's the most important thing. Once any sickness or nausea settles you can refocus and up your healthy eating game.
For me personally I can manage some fruit and a bit of veg but separate to any nausea, this pregnancy has triggered an ibs flair up for me which I did NOT expect because its been well managed for years but it's been awful. Unfortunately for me, high fibre and roughage make my ibs worse so I've had to go back onto white bread, low fibre cereals & grains, limit the amount of fruit & veg. I have to avoid things like nuts and seeds and beans. All the foods I used to eat before... I'm hoping it'll settle in the 2nd trimester because apparently its to do with the surge of progesterone playing havoc with my guts. Either way I'm being kind to myself as eating as well as I can but also eating ALOT of beige because the nausea is rough for me.

Sausage1990 · 31/08/2020 23:06

Also I see so many ladies struggle with eating well in the 1st trimester and while I always encourage them to make better choices as much as possible... Like try to find fruit you can manage rather than relying in biscuits... Its not always possible. But by the 2nd trimester they're able to add the protein, wholegrains, fruit & veggies etc. And tbh even if they don't listen to a word I say and eat whatever the hell they like, I'd say 90% of all the ladies in my clinic have good pregnancies and healthy babies at the end (Its not 100% because I see a high risk group of ladies so sometimes things don't work out BUT it's never their diet that's the issue it's always their diabetes or something related to that). So be reassured 💕

Sausage1990 · 31/08/2020 23:09

P.s. For those who don't know or remember I am a dietitian and i do an antenatal diabetes clinic every week... So if you've got any foody worries I can hopefully reassure 🍓
