Ladies there has been some pink CM when I wipe. What do i do?! The IC test I did this morning was slightly lighter than my last one too and I've had no symptoms today at all 😳 having a major panic!!

Sausage1990 · 30/08/2020 00:01

@MrsEmilyB oh hun I know the panicky feeling. At this point I would say to try to say as calm as you can and see what happens. Normally I would suggest calling EPU but I think they're closed in the evenings. The only other option is to go to A&E or call the out of Hours GP. Its what you feel most comfortable with... How many weeks are you? Xx

MrsEmilyB · 30/08/2020 00:05

@Sausage1990 I called 111 who got the OOH GP to call me and he was like "hmm, interesting that the NHS website told you to call the GP right away. It's called a threatened miscarriage but also could be normal. Do a pregnancy test tomorrow and another in 2 weeks to see if you're still pregnant". Yeah, thanks mate, not helpful or reassuring at all.

I'm 6 weeks today by LMP but think it's 5+3/4 in reality. Got my early scan next Sunday.

I'm more worried as I've had no symptoms today and my IC test is a bit lighter this morning.

Sausage1990 · 30/08/2020 00:25

@MrsEmilyB that isn't very helpful at all. Google could have told you that... Although at this point maybe there isn't much you can do other than wait. Even if it is torture.

I think wait it out and see what happens overnight and then see if you can call EPU in the morning. They might get you in for a scan to see what's going on. It's a horrible waiting game however when I was having spotting I found it slightly calming to remember that whatever is going to happen is out of my control either way. It doesn't make it less upsetting if the worst happens but it also enabled me to stay slightly less frantic than I felt. That being said I got completely panicked and had a good few cries... And the spotting stopped and hasn't been back since. I'm hoping it's the same for you 🙏🏻🤞🏻

Where you having many symptoms? Is the drop in symptoms significant? If could be today was a more manageable day and tomorrow you'll get hit full force 🤞🏻

Mococo1 · 30/08/2020 00:33

@Amy00 I'm so sorry hun, this is heartbreaking to hear. you are strong and will get through this 😘 we are all hear for you xx hugs xx

@MrsEmilyB I would just watch out to see if the pink CM gets any darker or turns into red blood?..I had spotting at 6w with this and was convinced it was going to be another MC so fingers crossed it just goes away somehow. Another options is you can try to call your own GP and see if they will refer you to EPU that way? Or if they will do bloods for you?

I'm really hoping that symptoms come full force tomorrow/your line appears darker tomorrow - 111 GP clearly doesn't understand that it could cause you stress waiting those extra two weeks xxx

MrsEmilyB · 30/08/2020 00:33

@Sausage1990 thanks lovely 🖤 it seems to have stopped for now 🤞🏻 I was having mild to moderate nausea daily from about 9 til 3. Nothing significant but its slowly been dropping since last weekend. Aside from yesterday where I really thought I might be sick. Tender boobies and fatigue. Maybe today was a lucky one.

Hoping my slightly paler IC today was also on account of it being exactly that, a cheapy. I'll be doing my clearblue digi on Monday and should see the 3+ if all is going okay

MrsEmilyB · 30/08/2020 00:35

@Mococo1 thank you. It's reassuring that you also had some spotting and it was all fine!, 🖤🖤 if it comes back I'll ring epu tomorrow.

@amy00 I am so so sorry 🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍 sending you all the love in the world

samilicious · 30/08/2020 00:35

@Amy00 I'm so sorry :( that's horrible. Make sure you take the time you need to recover (mentally even more so than physically) and always here if you need anything. Nature can be so cruel

@MrsEmilyB totally in the right for you to be angry - you should be a united front, hopefully it's something he'll be able to work in in the next few months. And I'm sure everything will be ok - that 111 line can be so rubbish! I rang up thinking I was having an ectopic once and the 111 GP told me to take some paracetamol! Also don't panic about IC line variation - mine were all over the place when done at the same time of day. Don't think they're trustworthy, especially if it's only slightly lighter. Symptoms come and go too - especially at that point. Mine did massively, usually for a couple of days at a time

@SmileyT brilliant news about your scan. No scan appointment dates for me yet, or even booking in appointments. Called to tell them I was a week ahead (from the private scan measurement) and they said they'd probably be in touch in 2 weeks or something daft so god knows

MrsEmilyB · 30/08/2020 00:37

@samilicious thank you 🤍🤍 thank you to all of you! You've given me a little hope tonight xxx

SmileyT · 30/08/2020 07:25

@MrsEmilyB how are you feeling this morning?

Spotting is really common in early pregnancy and pink or brown spotting is generally considered normal and something like 25% of people get it (I'd say we've had about 25% of this group who have also had healthy scans) I'd just keep an eye on it and maybe move your scan earlier/ contact your EPU on Monday if it persists. We have all been on knicker check and understand the anxiety but you're not alone in this 🙌🏾

I'd also avoid taking any strip tests after around 6weeks, not sure if you've read about it but there is something called 'the hook effect' which makes your tests lighter once hcg gets too high. I took one before my scan at 7w and the test line was really faint, completely freaked me out and I've had 3 scans since then 🙈 I know it's so hard not to panic but the odds are in your favour that everything will be okay with you and little bean, rest up this bank holiday if you can. Sending you loads of virtual hugs xx

Just thought I would update
Scan at EPU after what’s felt like an exhausting few weeks
Found sac and a little heartbeat ! She said it’s still early (only 6 weeks) so keep everything crossed
Going back for a follow up in two weeks

@MrsEmilyB I’ve had a bit of spotting
Had it in two pregnancies now and one without
It is common but absolutely freaks you out

mrsmummy1111 · 30/08/2020 08:14

Oh god @Amy00. Oh I'm so sorry, I can't imagine how you're feeling right now.
If there's a few positives you can try to take away its that you can get pregnant, and soon after MC you are supposed to be v.fertile. And thankfully you chose to have an early scan so in theory you now know 5 weeks earlier than you would have, had you waited for NHS scan.
I know none of that will feel important right now when you're grieving the loss of your baby. But your turn will come and your baby is out there somewhere waiting for you ❤️

blodyn91 · 30/08/2020 08:56

@Amy00 so so sorryyyy to hear this!! 💞💞
@samilicious when is your edd? I thought you would have got your appointment letter by now, guessing they won't give you much notice.
@MrsEmilyB hope all is ok with you! 💜
@Ltay2 the covid test was horrible! I definitely didn't manage to swab my throat for 10sec! Came back negative anyway 🙌🙌

Had a night out last night on lemonade, I was the designated driver so managed that easy, but then probably drank way too much caffine 😬 we also shared a cheese board and just thought now that I ate some brie 😳 Remembering all these food rules is harrd

Mococo1 · 30/08/2020 09:20

@MrsEmilyB I should also add my symptoms disappeared for like a week along with the spotting so I was mega worried and freaked out- Even now they come and go it's annoying when all you need is constant reassurance 😩🙄I'm sure EPU won't refuse you if you get your GP to refer xx

@Mustbemad82 yayyy!!! So glad they've found a sac and a little heartbeat this is the best news ever! 🥰

@blodyn91 hopefully you should be okay as long as you didn't scoff down the whole whe! I've certainly broken the cheese rule already - had some feta accidentally 👀

Only one of my boobs have hurt through this whole thing! lol I'm scared they're gna grow unevenly in this pregnancy 😕 and il be mega lopsided lol l. Might call docs on Monday as il be 10+4 on their calculations and no scan letter yet!

MrsEmilyB · 30/08/2020 10:20

@SmileyT thanks love ❤️ I haven't heard of the hook effect as I've been trying to stay away from Google! But that's reassuring! I'm pretty sure I'm 5+4/5+5 but 6+1 if going from day of LMP. I always ovulate later than day 14. Hopefully it's just my super high hcg being all super 😁 I purposefully didn't test this morning and will do my clearblue digi tomorrow (hoping for 3+)

@Mustbemad82 I am so happy for you!!! 🎉 Amazing news after such a stressful time for you.

@blodyn91 I'm okay, thank you. No more spotting today so fingers crossed all is well with bean. Had awful dreams last night about waking up in a bed soaked with blood ☹️ just gonna have a mega chilled day. Good job on designated driver duties! How was it? We've got a friend coming this Friday/Saturday so I need to find some subtle alcohol free wine.

@Mococo1 thank you! So reassuring to know other people's symptoms come and go. My nausea has actually been decreasing from about 4+2, aside from on the 28th where I really felt gross. Can't wait to have this scan and hopefully see a live little lentil in there! And OMG are we not allowed feta?? 😂 I've been eating it on the daily. I thought it was okay if it was pasteurised? I've got some soft goats cheese in the fridge which is pasteurised but im playing it safe and waiting until we can cook it into something!!

Sausage1990 · 30/08/2020 10:33

@MrsEmilyB I'm glad you're feeling a little calmer today. It's a horrible panicky feeling isn't it but know so many of us have been through it and it's turned out all fine. I'm hoping all is fine for me next Saturday when I have my 1st scan at 7+6 🤞🏻

@Mococo1 I'm impressed you've managed to eat cheese and you @MrsEmilyB, all I can manage atm is dry cereal, pikelets, grapes and chips (slimming world style oven chips)... I do try other foods but mostly beige carby foods. I can't wait to eat some avocado again but currently makes me feel 🤢

@Mustbemad82 I'm so glad things are looking positive for you. So so glad! 💕

Also, for alcohol free drinks, apparently nosecco is pretty good, as are the alcohol free gins. A friend of mine had them when she was expecting and said they're nice & taste like you're having booze. I've not tried any myself but may be worth looking into it. Xxx

blodyn91 · 30/08/2020 10:33

@Mococo1 @MrsEmilyB Ive also been eating feta thinking its OK 😬 I think if its pasteurised its OK though? I love goats cheese 😋 tbh I love all cheeses and Christmas is going to be hard if I can't indulge in anything and everything 😆. I know runny british eggs are also ok, whereas they say they are not in america. I feel so hungover today, blaming it on dehydration as we went on a 45 mile bike ride yesterday and definitely did not drink enough water 😩

blodyn91 · 30/08/2020 10:36

@Sausage1990 we are on opposite side of the scale, I can't stop eating! Can eat anything, and if I don't eat I feel sick! I also feel better the healthier I eat, big fan of tomatoes atm and craving a tuna Jacket potato 😆 Also worried I'm going to start putting weight on 🙈 need to remember the difference between eating for two and eating two meals

MrsEmilyB · 30/08/2020 10:45

@Sausage1990 I'm just happy it's stopped! Fingers crossed for our scans 🤞🏻🤞🏻 you're the day before me but further along! By LMP I'll be 7+1 at my scan but realistically I think I'll be 6+4/6+5. Hoping that's still early enough to see a heartbeat?? Sorry you've been feeling so sicky. Hope it passes soon for you and you can eat the rainbow again!

I had a smoothie packed with fruits this morning so hopefully that'll give bean a boost. I realised since finding out we've eaten out so many times that my diet has been pretty unhealthy and I've gained 2lbs so that needs to just STHAP. 😂 I gained 9lbs during lockdown without pregnancy so definitely need to get back to more regular exercise and healthy eating, especially if I'm very lucky and avoiding morning sickness currently!!

Nosecco is good! I had it on our anniversary ❤️ well, the frexinet alcohol free fizz. Also had some nice alcohol free rosé. Definitely tasted like juice haha.

Sausage1990 · 30/08/2020 11:38

@blodyn91 oh I'm so envious of your eating. I feel like I need some healthy food but the thought of it is hard. I am managing to have some cold fruit like grapes, clementines & sliced apples, and I'm making my own healthier chips rather then just getting them from the chip shop (although we did have some from the chip shop in the week as DH was working late so picked up something on the way home and they went down a treat)... I just can't face cooking smells or food smells of any sort. My sense of smell is unreal atm, I'm like a bloodhound lol, 😂

SmileyT · 30/08/2020 12:12

Don't all disown me but I've never tried any cheese apart from Cheddar and maybe melted Mozzarella, I was such a fussy eater as a child and just the thought of eating a slice of cheese is alien to me 😂🙈 but I did think pasteurised was all good 👌🏾

I'm still struggling from my gym session on Friday, literally having to lower my body onto the toilet, but started today with a kale based smoothie... 12weeks next week and nausea appears to have left the building 🥳 I put on about a stone in lockdown but have lost a couple in this first trimester so going to try and keep up a balanced diet and start working out 3/4 times a day x

@Mustbemad82 bloody hell they saw you early this morning and so happy for this good news, great that they will see you again in 2 weeks for more reassurance as well xx

@Mococo1 haha I said the same to DP about my boobs, one seemed to balloon first but all boob soreness has gone now 🤷🏾‍♀️ definitely ring the hospital, did they give you a number at your booking appt? When I rang mine up they had booked the appt but I just didn't receive the letter so it's worth chasing xx

@MrsEmilyB yes stay positive and definitely stay off google, I was really naughty in the first few weeks and just couldn't control myself. If you normally drink any spirits, seedlip is great with some tonic water, although it's the most overpriced squash in the world at £30 a bottle 😂

3 early scans and 3 dating scans next week and I'm so excited to see all your healthy beans in there, will keep me occupied until mine the week after ❤️

Ltay2 · 30/08/2020 13:19

@SmileyT Counting down the days to my scan next Sunday but equally dreading it! Just convinced it's going to be bad news and don't know why 😔 I've not been as tired the last couple of weeks and only really feel a little bit nauseous when I'm really really hungry so I feel like I should 'feel' pregnant and I don't! Although I've never been pregnant before so have no idea what it feels like.

Sausage1990 · 30/08/2020 13:20

@MrsEmilyB God I hope it doesn't last intonthe 2nd trimester. Some peoples sickness lasts until like 20 weeks 😣 I hope mine settles towards the end if the 1st... Im only 7 weeks so I've still got a good 5 weeks of this which I'll be honest I'm not looking forward to. Happy for you that your sickness has settled @SmileyT... Its good to know the grass is greener haha

@SmileyT @Mococo1 my boobs have been completely normal so far. I've not had any tenderness and they seem to be about the same size. I mean I'm really busty anyway so maybe by body thought nah they don't need to grow yet, they're big enough haha

Sausage1990 · 30/08/2020 13:23

Awww @Ltay2 it's horrible when you've got a gut feeling like that. Although you might be completely wrong... I'm sure you are. It's just nerves and anxiety getting the better of you. Every single body is different and every pregnancy is different, you've never been pregnant before so this could be completely normal for you to have very few symptoms. Ive known people who havjt had any symptoms but had really healthy babies. Try not to let the anxiety take away too much happiness, it won't change the outcome. Which om sure will be a positive one 😊 keeping it all crossed for you 🤞🏻🙏🏻

Mococo1 · 30/08/2020 13:34

@Sausage1990 I've just been mega pickier than usual with food- so I can eat cheese as long as I'm in the mood for it which is rare. I used to want fried eggs early on now can't stand the thought! And naan gives me really bad heartburn lol

I agree Beige food is so much more appetising to me more than anything- I had Sw chips for dinner last night 😂 and am living on plain Jacobs crackers. I had a glass of apple juice this morning and felt like I nearly orgasmed, it really hit the spot for me 🙌🏽

@blodyn91 I think pasteurised is fine! @SmileyT tbh I mostly eat cheddar/mozerella and only have fancy cheeses if I'm out lol! I'm defo a picky eater too

@SmileyT il have to have a look around in my letters etc if I can get a number - I did go with the online option to get them digitally so hoping they didn't forget about to all together xx
