@SmileyT yes it was my twin. We don't have any other siblings as mam felt that twins was enough for her haha. We are technically identical but we have different colour hair, hers is short blonde and super curly, mine is longer brown and I mostly wear it straight (it is actually curly naturally) and she's wears contacts where I were my glasses so it does make a difference. We have the same voice & laugh tho which I've always liked 😁 I agree tho company and distraction helps at times, although I've got a meal pit tomorrow with my work girls for a Toby carvery and I don't quite know how that's guna go because I feel so 🤢 in the evenings... I may just have to have all the potatoes because the idea of meat and veg is a bit much tbh. How do people manage eating out??

@Cocoblue22 ahh thanks for the info about WTTW - it's helpful to get other peoples experiences. I do feel better about it all since chatting to you all - I really appreciate the support today. Its meant alot.

@MrsEmilyB I'd love to be an early shower too but as I'm a size 18 anyway I'm probably not going to look pregnant until about 5-6 months... I mean maybe I'll be proven wrong because my body hasn't done this before so who knows but I'm at peace with that. X

Mococo1 · 25/08/2020 22:16

@SmileyT @Sausage1990 it's subsided a lot thank you- still there but more of a really bad headache rather than pounding pain- hoping tomorrow it will dull down! DH convinced me a drive which turned into a to westfields for food and it was the worst decision ever made ! Was home in a jiffy

@MrsEmilyB mine was face to face and basically the same as @SmileyT but both parts were done together! So I would assume it's booking x

@Mustbemad82 so happy for you!! What wonderful news 🥰🥰🥰

samilicious · 25/08/2020 22:52

@SmileyT I read that wrong then and thought you meant the midwife was asking for your dad's phone number 😂

@Mustbemad82 AMAZING news! 🎉 🥰

@blodyn91 what pregnancy fitness book did you get? Sounds interesting

@Sausage1990 I'm had an internal at WTTW today and it was absolutely fine. A tampon would be more uncomfortable. Only bit that didn't feel great was when I had to tilt to the side a little bit for them to check ovaries. Well worth it to have a clearer picture. I had one at hospital when I was miss carrying and it was horrible, so painful. It was much thinner than the hospital one

So I was absolutely terrified by the time I lay down for the scan. Like just burst into tears when they asked if I'd had an internal before because it what happened last time I had one (and not a bit crier).

Buuuut... mama and baby got a clean bill of health! One week ahead of schedule at 7+3, and not twins (sorry to let you down guys haha!)

Sausage1990 · 26/08/2020 00:10

@samilicious that's a gorgeous scan 💕 and 1 week ahead of schedule explains the CB results being slightly ahead too. I'm happy for you. And thank you for sharing your experience. It's really put my mind at ease. All of you have. A thinner probe is better 👍🏻

Mustbemad82 · 26/08/2020 06:28

Thanks ladies
I can’t tell you the relief I felt, I burst into tears when she said it was in my uterus, I’d been fully preparing for surgery, even going as far to take myself off shift this weekend (I’m an nhs therapist)

I have really really loose stools all day until the evening when I’m struck by bloat and end up with constipation like cramps all night! My boobs are also sore , I pee every ten minutes and IM a little bit queasy, mainly at night, but am trying to steer clear of the beige and eat a colourful diet

I’m 38 so am a little bit conciliatory of my age, my youngest is 16 and although I’ve always been super fit and health conscious, I’m trying to give my body the best chance here

@Sausage1990 my can with WTTW was internal and she was fab- really professional, no pain and the only bit that was uncomfortable was when my bladder started to fill up and she pressed on it

zippityzip · 26/08/2020 06:31

Oh my word just catching up....

@samilicious Your scan is awesome so glad that everything is ok. And a week ahead!!!

@Mustbemad82 Honestly I had hope, your other scans were so early I was really keeping my fingers crossed that it was just too soon to tell. Seeing the yolk sac hopefully means it's all going well! And tomorrow it'll be even clearer!!

@Sausage1990 I hope you're less nervous about an internal scan now. Honestly I've never had any problems with them - even the hospital ones (she did say to me "it's smaller than a penis!" Which I found amusing).

@Cocoblue22 I'm feeling your pain showing early! I'm 9 weeks (I posted a pic further down the thread) and my youngest DD broke a bone in her foot yesterday. Even going for the X-ray they ushered me out of the room without me having to say anything it was so obvious for everyone that I'm pregnant. Have you got any bump pics?!

@blodyn91 Not even 5k more but £150k?!?!? I hope no one buys it the selfish bastard. Bigger and better things await you. Let the greedy farmer be a tosser.

@SmileyT how are you feeling? The pain/hunger is real. My DH doesn't get it when I say I have to eat NOW.
My day multitasking went to shit 😂 I'm STILL not into my laptop and my DD broke her foot by slipping off a chair that I've told her ten times not to climb on. I just hope I can get into my laptop today or I'll have a breakdown!!

Grr anyway DH got the arse with me yesterday because he got in from work and I literally just collapsed on the sofa and laid down for 20 mins. I had been back and forth to the hospital for DD whilst trying to work and sort out the house, dinner, washing etc. He was like "you're always so miserable is it going to be like this for the next 6 months" and I just lost it. DO YOU THINK I WANT TO FEEL LIKE SHIT?! DO YOU THINK I ENJOY THIS.

Afterwards he gave me a big hug and apologised but I'm still pissed off. His problem was that HE was tired, and I have to put up with his moping when he's knackered so he can fuck off. Can't bear it that someone else could possibly feel worse than him!!

SmileyT · 26/08/2020 07:33

@samilicious I was patiently waiting all evening for your update but fell asleep before you posted, the best news to wake up to 🥳 and yes to skipping a week of the first trimester, you probs ovulated/ implanted early which explains the tests aswell. Haha don't need your dads number unless he is next of kin 😂

@Sausage1990 ooh same but different twins, love that 💖 I'd suggest when eating out just stick to the foods that you know don't trigger you, drink loads of water and eat beforehand, I went to my friends for a curry and the smell of her food nearly made me sick but just took lots of deep breaths x

@LittleRa ahh that's great you are both teachers and can enjoy the time together, means you get loads of time together next summer aswell when LO is small. Hope your return to work goes well today ☺️

@zippityzip all good over here just so tired from work, I know it's nothing compared to working and having kids but honestly the commute is killing me, with so many people wfh I just feel like I'm wasting 2hrs a day now 🙄 hubby sounds like he needs a swift kick up the arse, I think you've obviously spoilt him but as you've said before you're starting a course this year and will need him to step up more than ever. Sending you lots of virtual moral support xx

zippityzip · 26/08/2020 07:38

@SmileyT Honestly I have. The man doesn't have to do ANYTHING but sort himself out and get to work. He doesn't understand the isolation for me either. My job is very "hands on" and "people" and now I'm stuck indoors 24/7.

Because he doesn't physically see me doing it with his own eyes (because he's at work) the house obviously cleans itself and his clothes make their own way into his wardrobe and dinner just appears when he arrives.

I moan - he's not all bad. He's a wonderful father and he is supportive he just gets into these lulls - and always at the worst possible time.

I've done too much for too long and he's gotta step up.

samilicious · 26/08/2020 07:52

@Sausage1990 thank you! And about eating out... I dry heaved all the way through force-feeding myself my favourite meal for breakfast at a cafe last week 😂 it was not pretty! The waiting on staff were looking at me like I was possessed. Determined to finish it though as it was soo gooood. Could you snack on something light before so you don't feel as sick when you get there? Could you tell them you're trying to cut down on meat as a lifestyle change for the environment or something?

@SmileyT aww bless you! Thanks for trying to stay up! Did a little tour of our parents so didn't get in until late 😴 shattered. Is there no way they would let you work from home? Just being out a bit last night killed me, I don't know how you do that commute every day

@zippityzip thank you 🥰 it's a hard fight but keep at it with DH, he's sure to step up a little bit if you keep reminding him why it's so important and how much do. Hope the transformation happens sooner rather than later though!

Cocoblue22 · 26/08/2020 09:45

@samilicious yay to having a good scan experience and seeing your little bean x

Cocoblue22 · 26/08/2020 10:56

@SmileyT you should deffo push to wfh if you can that commute sounds awful x

Mococo1 · 26/08/2020 11:06

@SmileyT I feel for you so bad with that commute- say it's burning you out! I can't concentrate at work properly even wfh 😫

DH parents are coming over for dinner unexpectedly and the thought of cooking is making me want to vom🤢 I said let's do takeaway as the thought of cooking makes me
ill and he had the cheek to comment I never cook when they come/we always order takeaway (but that's what he wants or they just pop in whenever so don't readily have food and they don't eat English) I'm fuming at his comments!

Got to say my mood swings are defo coming on nicely - he seems like my worst enemy lately had a go at me for falling asleep in the car with my migraine saying I'm no fun anymore yday too

zippityzip · 26/08/2020 11:13

@Mococo1 They are his parents why doesn't he cook?! Or is that too obvious?!

Mococo1 · 26/08/2020 11:28

@zippityzip who knows!!

I just exploded big time had a go at him saying he's so selfish and maybe he should cook as everything else (cleaning washing etc is done for him and he never lifts a finger without me asking him) but apparently putting away his own washing (according to where he likes it) and putting all his left over dishes is already too much for him

He had nothing to say and was like no babe we'll get a takeaway 🙃 I didn't mean it like that - cheek of it.

blodyn91 · 26/08/2020 12:27

Ill post the book later when Im home 😊 Milking early morning and been weighing calves before lunch, thats the best job because they are so cute! The youngstock manager at the farm is Russian though so he speaks russian to me and I speak english to him and we get by somehow, he is really kind though.

@zippityzip We have very similar lives I think 🤣 challenging MIL and OH who are brilliant but also not so brilliant when it comes to you needing attention. He had a huge go at me yesterday because the washing basket was full, I had clothes on the spare bed and my work stuff still out on the table...I was in bed at 8:30 as tiredness is definitely hitting me atm. I let him vent then just said 'I didn't realise it was full and Im really not feeling myself today so please come spoon me, I need to relax' 🤣 then he was like stop guilt tripping me 😆😆

blodyn91 · 26/08/2020 12:30

@Mococo1 at least that some sort of result and you don't need to stress over cooking 😊 shame he didn't offer though 😆

zippityzip · 26/08/2020 12:31

@blodyn91 Ha fucking men honestly. My DH won't mention the washing if it's not done after his comment last year "I put a wash on FOR YOU".
I was like I'm sorry are they ONLY my clothes? Did you do ME a favour by washing your own and your children's clothes?
It was for ME!?

He's learnt. It's a slow process. Another reason why I block out my MIL because I live with the product of her parenting, and well, quite frankly it needs work.

Amy00 · 26/08/2020 14:45

Hello ladies!! I've been away from Mumsnet for over a week and feels like months!! I've been mega busy moving house - have collapsed on the sofa each evening absolutely exhausted. We got the keys last week on Tues and for some crazy reason decided to save money and move on the cheap doing most of it ourselves - just hired a van plus 2x men to move the big stuff that wouldn't fit in the car. Think we did about 10 trips back and forth in the end!

This house is a project though and I'm so overwhelmed by what needs to be done to it, we will probably have to move out while the work is being done but who will let us stay with a newborn?! Apart from family who all live 2 hours away which would mean we couldn't oversee the project. Alternative is to crack on and get it done ASAP before baby arrives but conscious it's only like 7 months away and there's so much to be done!! Eeek

I'm so sorry I haven't had a chance to properly catch up on everyone's posts, just had a skim and glad everyone is doing well - MILs aside!! 😂

@blodyn91 gutted about the barn. What dicks asking for £150k more?!?! Who does that!!!!

On pregnancy journals - I bought a blank notebook with the intention of writing in it everyday but I think I've written in it about 3 times in 2 weeks 🙈

blodyn91 · 26/08/2020 16:14

@Amy00 I think you should crack on if you can. Do you need a new roof? knock walls down? move bathroom/kitchen? I would get those big jobs done, then the smaller ones don't matter much, you can live there to finish those. Has it got room for a caravan? so you don't have to travel the 2hrs each way everyday? very exciting!! I know I am pissed off with him! Hope nobody offers what he wants and he comes crawling back

Cocoblue22 · 26/08/2020 17:32

@Amy00 new house sounds exciting! If I were you I'd prioritise all the things that you need doing ASAP before the baby IE your bedroom, kitchen and bathroom(if those things need doing) all other rooms and garden etc can be done once baby is here quite easily get the biggest jobs out of the way before hand you will need hot water and your kitchen and anything structural sorted beforehand. It's doable in time and cosmetic stuff will wait x

Sorry to hear about the crappy MIL and OH comments a few of you are having to deal with....ignore them....you're growing humans right now and it's a full time job x

SmileyT · 26/08/2020 18:48

@Amy00 ahh so exciting getting a new house sorted, as others have said get any extensions and bathroom sorted first. Can't wait until we move onto FB/ a WhatsApp chat so we can all have a look 👌🏾

@zippityzip @Mococo1 you both sound like bloody legends and I'm sure your men are fab aswell just need reminding of how lucky they are like all of us sometimes. My mum doesn't even know how to cook pasta so I'm from a family where my dad did everything, not sure what I'd do with a man that expected me to cook and clean for him 🙈 me and DP are still very much in the honeymoon phase and luckily his job involves a lot of time off so he expects very little from me 😂

@blodyn91 no wonder you don't want to take a full year off you're job sounds so interesting and fun (hard work but fun ☺️) xx

@Cocoblue22 @samilicious annoyingly I think if I kicked up a fuss I could work closer to home at least, another girl in my team normally works in central London but pretty much refused to get on the tube so working at an office 5mins walk from home. I'll see how I get on as I just hate confronting my mean manager and feel like she always twists things so try and avoid any conversations with her 🙈
