@zippityzip My whole family are 2.5hrs away. Hopefully we will be moving slightly closer. I know my mum will come down though and stay in a B&B to help me for a few days, and I might suggest to OH that I go and stay with my parents when he goes back to work -as we also have a wedding to prep for 😳.
MIL 100% bitches about me. Going to see BIL girlfriend tonight, so maybe I will have a big gossip session 😆 (but she doesn't know im preggers yet).

Mococo1 · 24/08/2020 17:57

Sorry it was so long! @zippityzip @blodyn91 I don't do it 😂 couldn't deal with the small talk every day I struggle to speak to my own mum everyday either lol. Really nice to hear you think I'm navigating through 🤣 @Sausage1990

Problem is we were both born/raised here so that mentality of back home just shouldn't exist!

@blodyn91 I'm sure you will see more of parents once LO is here! Mines 1.5hrs away so hoping she'll practically move in part time 😂😂

SmileyT · 24/08/2020 18:55

@zippityzip sounds like a plan with hoping to get another free pic of little one ☺️

@Mococo1 I very much know the type of family dynamics you are talking of and sounds like you are navigating the situation as best you can, with this new addition it will just take some readjusting in the family balance which will come with time, but having loads of support close by is never a bad thing xx

I'm not sure if it's lucky or unlucky but DP can't stand to be in the same room as his mum for longer than about 30minutes, so it's normally me that is sticking up for her. In reality she is bat shit crazy but there really is no malice from her so I just find it funny whereas DP just finds her so infuriating 🙈

@Sausage1990 glad there has been no more spotting and you got to chill today. I'm going to order a pregnancy book as a treat to myself on my 11week milestone this weekend 🙌🏾

@blodyn91 hope you get a good gossip session in tonight, is the barn closer to your mum? x

@samilicious good luck for the scan tomorrow ☺️

How is it only Monday 😩 I'm so bloody exhausted already, I had a protein shake for dinner, OH is working nights this week and I'm tempted just to get into bed 😂

samilicious · 24/08/2020 20:07

@Sausage1990 aw that's good that he's on board too! Mine is most of the time 😂 and so happy the brown cm / spotting has stopped. Our bodies like freaking us out don't they. That snack basket sounds ideal, mine would always be empty

@SmileyT thank you beauty 😀 and thank you for reassuring me on the dtd front 😊 you're dead right, and yes another reason to love this group! Get in bed and rest up, you deffo deserve it

@Mococo1 I think you're completely in the right - you've been so apprehensive about it all, you need your cheerleaders not potential doubters speaking to you about this. My friend and her husband have a similar family dynamic / cultural pressures - she had to live with them when pregnant, MIL a bit difficult, and she had hyperemesis gravidarum! Worked out well though because now they live on their own and her MIL really defends her when SILs are slagging her off for "putting it on" with same illness with second baby. Any chance you could use the small talk to turn MIL into an ally if you do tell her and she's closer to what you're going through?

@Dipsy77 congratulations on the twins news! 🎉

samilicious · 24/08/2020 20:08

@blodyn91 proper craving a swim now! Thanks for the inspo. I couldn't handle a negative MIL like that - who would say that?!

Mococo1 · 24/08/2020 21:14

@samilicious thank you!! I wish I could but I wouldn't forgive myself if I told my mil before my own mum as I know my mum would be heartbroken if I did!

Its my DH that drives the cultural wedge between us with his comments trying to make - She's great 99% of the time so I really have no issue with her it's just I'm personally not ready to tell anyone I'm pregnant yet! Anything to keep my anxiety down🤰🏽DH is now crazy sucking up to me 🙄

Had a lovely day just lounging around but didn't actually nap! Who has the next scan btw? Xxx also any ladies know how long after your booking appt the scan came through? X

Cocoblue22 · 24/08/2020 21:29

@Mococo1 I'm glad you had a good experience at WTTW we always have and really rate them x

Sausage1990 · 24/08/2020 21:47

@Mococo1 I don't know if anyone has any scans at the end if this month but I'm booked for an early scan on 5th September, i'll be 8weeks and I'm just hoping & praying for a heartbeat. I'm hoping I don't have to have an internal scan again... Im booked at WTTW - does anyone know if it will likely be an external or internal scan? X

Mococo1 · 24/08/2020 22:31

@Sausage1990 it depends on the branch - the lady said as I was under 10 weeks it would be internal!

MrsEmilyB · 24/08/2020 22:43

Evening ladies ❤️❤️ sorry I've been MIA. I had a friend over at the weekend from back home in Wales, which was planned when lockdown was lifted, so I had to fake drink all weekend 🙃 at least I could realisitically have a "hangover" because that's how it feels right now each morning 😂

I've loved reading your updates and seeing the adorable scan photos!! Today I went to pilates then made these sweet little boxes for our parents! We are giving them to DH's parents on Thursday - our 2 year wedding anniversary!!

Summer '20 Grads ❤️
samilicious · 24/08/2020 22:54

@Mococo1 ahh right I see. If you don't feel ready deffo don't tell anyone! Telling my mum helped me with anxious feelings so hope you can tell yours soon without falling out with DH too much ❤️ glad he's sucking up and not giving you as much of a hard time

I have mine at window to the womb tomorrow at 7.30pm 😬 either 6+5 or 7+2. LMP is 6+5 but had really strong lines early on and CB weeks test showed me a week at least ahead of that so god knows. Can they tell that early if it's twins?!

@SmileyT I'm starting to see what you mean now about that anxious feeling before scans

Sausage1990 · 24/08/2020 23:11

@Mococo1 hmmm okay. If I need to then it's fine. I think I'll ask if I can try a do 1st and see... If not then we'll try internal again 😬 I really didn't like it at all but now I know what to expect it may be different. 😣

Sausage1990 · 24/08/2020 23:12

Try to do an external 1st... For some reason that didn't type properly 🤔

zippityzip · 25/08/2020 06:12

@Sausage1990 I had an external at 7 weeks but he said my uterus was really high up and tilted forward so it was easy to see.
My next scan is 4th sept! And I'm nervous all over again.

zippityzip · 25/08/2020 06:13

I've been trying to log into my laptop since 6am but I've forgotten my password 😭
I'm WFH with the kids today so while they were asleep I thought I would get a head start but baby brain is real and a word that I've typed ten million times I can't remember so can't fucking get into it!!!!

SmileyT · 25/08/2020 06:48

@Mococo1 annoyingly it's another thing that is determined by nhs trust, my booking appt and scan date were both told to me at the same time but I know some trusts wait until the booking appt to book in the scan 🤷🏾‍♀️

@Sausage1990 I've got a scan this week, I've never had an internal at a private scan with BabyBond but I did read somewhere that at WTTW they do internals up to 8weeks but you can request them to try abdominal first. After a couple of internal scans hopefully it won't feel so intrusive when you get to the end of pregnancy and somebody puts their hand up there for a sweep 🙈😂

@MrsEmilyB love that little box, let us know how you get on with the parents x

@samilicious yep can definitely tell early on with twins, if they see two of everything including heartbeats it's got to be twins ❤️ in my first early scan she had a proper look everywhere in tubes etc to check there wasn't any others 'hiding' as she said. x

@zippityzip ahh I hate when this happens, it's normally when I get back from holiday and I'm like 'wtf is my password 🙄' normally I have no baby brain to blame either, hope you get it sorted, when are the kids back at school? xx

OP posts:
MrsEmilyB · 25/08/2020 07:03

@zippityzip - hope you're in your laptop now! My laptop has loads of secure systems and different passwords for each one and yesterday I just kept typing the wrong one 😂

@SmileyT ahh I will! So excited. Can't wait! Did my CB weeks today and its 2-3 at 4+6 so I'm really happy with that. I'll test again in a week to hopefully get the 3+.

@samilicious - surely it's twins?! 🤩 Do they run in your family? They should be able to tell from about 6 weeks on a scan!

zippityzip · 25/08/2020 07:06

@SmileyT Kids aren't back until next week. I've got a few days WFH with them as the childminder is on holiday.
Shouldn't be too bad unless something dramatic happens and safeguarding explodes. They are pretty good kids in general.
Still no idea on my password 😭 Im waiting for the IT guys to reset it for me. I had so much I wanted to do before the kids woke up!
@MrsEmilyB yep that was me! I'm one more guess away from locking myself out completely so I've given up 😂

samilicious · 25/08/2020 08:07

@MrsEmilyB oh god - I'm so small, I'd be so scared of having twins that I couldn't carry them properly and would hurt them! I don't have any on my side, but OH has a few on his mum's side. Your box was so so cute btw 😍

@zippityzip I always forget, then it comes to me 3 days later when I'm just making a brew or something, completely out of the blue. Hopefully yours does the same, or IT can help

@SmileyT that's good that they were so thorough 😊 seems like a lot of good experiences at WTTW now so hopefully mine will be the same x

Also worth checking on Groupon etc for cheaper scans ladies - especially Window to the womb ones. Guy at work mentioned he found a good early fender scan deal on there

MrsEmilyB · 25/08/2020 08:15

@samilicious - our bodies are amazing. If you are carrying twins itll be fine! DH's cousin is about to pop any day with twins - she's 5ft1 and usually a small size 8. Currently she's got the biggest bump and isn't very comfortable, but babies are safe well and growing lovely!

Sausage1990 · 25/08/2020 09:58

@zippityzip oh that's good that they could see everything well at 7 weeks.
@SmileyT yeah I think I'll ask if we could try abdominal 1st and then if we don't get any luck or see enough then we can try internal. It's not so much that it's invasive, it's no more invasive than a smear, I just found it physically very uncomfortable. Like it kept feeling borderline painful and kept making me jump. I just found it really unpleasant and I couldn't focus on anything else other than trying to stay relaxed and breathing calmly. I don't know that I'd even be able to enjoy seeing the baby in the screen or anything. I mean I know everyone's experience is different and maybe a different person doing it would be different.
It probably doesn't help that I still have cramps intermittently and it makes all my insides feel achey and like it's all stretching. So putting a probe up there just wasn't comfortable at all 😣

However if I need to then I will and I will hopefully be able to focus on seeing a heartbeat to take my mind of it all 🤞🏻

Mococo1 · 25/08/2020 10:11

@MrsEmilyB yay to CB🙌🏽 box was sooo adorable!

@SmileyT so I read my letter I should get my scan after my booking appt so fingers crossed it comes through soon - I'm kind of waiting to see if it's early enough or if Il need to book in another scan before then!

@Sausage1990 no harm in asking for external? They surely can't refuse but can only recommend ! Out of all the internal scans I've had wttw one was a lot more comfier because the prob they used was thinner than normal- but yeh I've had some really u comfortable ones and cramps defo make it 1000 times worse

@zippityzip this happened to me last week - have u managed to log in yet?

Text my manager this morning but he's still asleep I'm wfh but really hope they give me the day off I have the most awful migraine and want to stay in bed all day 😫

I've been to WTTW with both pregnancies before 10 weeks and both times they were internal and at different branches. I think they have a blanket rule that > 10 weeks is internal. Sorry you had a bad experience last time but genuinely both times I've had it has been absolutely fine. Tbh I barely felt anything 🙈 . Hopefully your experience this time will be a bit better 🤞🏼

Sausage1990 · 25/08/2020 11:23

@Mococo1 that's good to know that the WTTW one was comfier 🤞🏻 ill have that experience too.
@mrsmummy1111 thank you for sharing your experience. It's good to know so i can get my head around the idea & hopefully it will be fine and it'll definitely be worth it 😊

@Mococo1 oh I'm sorry you've got a migrainem 😣 you definitely need to be off work today and just be in bed. As a migraine sufferer myself I feel for you. They're the worst... And without painkillers too 😣 I hope you feel better soon xx

Sausage1990 · 25/08/2020 11:42

Hi girls sorry to be a negative nelly today with all my woes about scans etc but my anxiety is super high today.
I've had some brown cm when I wipe again and my intermittent cramping has joined it today. I've had cramping on an off since ovulation and I know it can happen for ages in a healthy pregnancy, as can brown cm when I wipe but jesus. It's just set my anxiety right up there. I thought my symptoms had gone too but I just went downstairs to potter around and I feel terrible again which is a relief lol. How does anyone relax during the 1st trimester?! Maybe it's because of my experience with a chemical, maybe it's my personality... Maybe it's completely normal to feel this way. It's not fun & I just needed to share because my head is a bit all over the place. X
