Morning ladies!

Just wondering if anyone has ever taken baby aspirin after a loss or consecutive losses? I saw someone recommend it could be worth trying it but I don't really know much about it.

Hope your all ok xx

Poppy10121 · 18/08/2020 08:47

My side pains have got worse today ☹️ Waiting to see if the doctor will refer me to EPU after all, wanted to avoid it but now feeling very sure that something is wrong. Does anyone have experience of ectopic and know where the pain would be? It seems to be lower abdomen on one side for me, really worried ☹️

Abi0795 · 18/08/2020 08:49

Hi @Poppy10121 I remember having one sided pain in my last pregnancy and I terrified about ectopic but when I had a scan it was fine.

For your own peace of mind I would explain to your GP your concerns and I'm sure they could book you in for a scan xxx

Pugprincess · 18/08/2020 08:56

@Poppy10121 keep us informed and good luck 🤞🏻Is the pain excruciating, like on a scale of 1/10 how does it feel x

Well I think my brown spotting is back this morning but I don’t know if it’s related to me and DH ‘fooling around’ a bit last night. We didn’t have full sex because we are trying to avoid that this time until we felt more confident that things are ok. What do you guys do? X

Workingmama1 · 18/08/2020 09:16

@poppy10121 I hope they can get you in for a scan. There are lots of things that can cause one sided pain that arent ectopic but 🤞 they can check you over to confirm. I know how worrying it is, that was me last week!

@pugprincess it could be you still managed to irritate your cervix depending on what you are doing, when are you 6 weeks?

How is everyone feeling in general about dtd? We've not done since we found out, I know that it is generally considered safe but I don't want to do anything that could be risky...

We live next to a farm and the farmer was spreading last night, it smells so bad i can't step out the house without gagging, it's normally bad enough when not pregnant!

@Abi0795 afraid I'm not taking aspirin but I do know some ladies swear by it, it seems to divide doctors but a lot of specialists recommend it I think.

Pugprincess · 18/08/2020 09:19

@Workingmama1 yes I’d be interested to know everyone’s thoughts. We tried to be so careful. Literally just the tip in lol but we both reached the goal 🥅 now it’s put me off totally.

We live near farms too and it stinks almost everyday at some point 😩

ew1990 · 18/08/2020 09:32

@workingmama we haven't done it but only because I'm exhausted. I did spot after dtd when I was pregnant with DD but just put it down to irrating the cervix.

I feel totally normal the last 2 days. Slept right through the night for like 8 hours. No sickness and no sore boobs. I'm putting it down to being nearly 11 weeks and hormones are tailing off.

This happened last time and baby had stopped growing but I was only 9 weeks then and saw the heartbeat last week which was nice and strong so I'm feeling pretty good about it

SkyBlue20 · 18/08/2020 09:36

Morning all!

Definite bloat and thickening of the waist going on here, too - I can still do up some of my jeans but only the ones that were looser to begin with, no chance with my tight ones. It's annoying as don't want to buy any new clothes just yet but running out of options!

@Abi0795 I'm on aspirin because it's a 'first' pregnancy and my mum had pre-eclampsia but have read a lot of things from people saying they took it after multiple losses and went on to have successful pregnancies. I was told last pregnancy to take 75mg but at my booking appt last week they put it up to 150mg as apparently that's the new advice. Was told to start taking it right away (I'd already started a few weeks previously) and right the way through my pregnancy (though I know some trusts advise from 12 weeks until 36). So far, so good in my pregnancy (touch wood) but obviously I can't say for sure that that's down to the aspirin. Definitely worth asking your doctor/midwife about and have a search of the threads on here, there are quite a lot asking about it.

@Poppy10121 Hope you're ok and get the referral. I've had a few instances of one sided pain, like stretching and aching, I assumed it was the side I ovulated from, but it wasn't crazy painful. Hope you can get seen today to put your mind at rest xx

In terms of DTD, we've done absolutely nothing since finding out - I know it's deemed ok but I also know you can bleed afterwards and tbh I just don't think the stress if that happened would be worth it. We'll wait until after 12 weeks and even then might ease in to it. We were the same last pregnancy - neither of us wanted to risk anything, so that ended up being a loooong time as the 12 weeks of pregnancy then the six weeks going through the MMC, the three weeks of recovery... it was a long time! To be fair, I'm so tired and feel so rough at the moment, too, I don't think I could if we wanted to!

Had nine hours of sleep last night and feel so much better for it today! Still don't feel great but the right end of not great at least. Am still in bed, working, and it's heaven, exactly what the doctor ordered! Hope everyone is doing ok on this miserable, rainy day (in Manchester at least)? xx

Sounds normal, I think - the placenta will be starting to take over around now, won't it? Enjoy feeling normal again!

bubblybon20 · 18/08/2020 09:56

Hope you're okay @Poppy10121 I had some really intense pain in my left side.. but she said at my ultrasound I have some cysts, so could be that 🤞🏻 a few of us experienced the pain in one side. So as @SkyBlue20 said could just be stretching!

@ew1990 im either 11+1 or 12+1, but my symptoms have eased off a lot the past couple of weeks. The only thing that's still here is these bloody awful headaches!! 🤦🏻‍♀️ so the placenta must defo be doing an awful lot now! Does say on one of my apps that symptoms will subside soon! 😄

Poppy10121 · 18/08/2020 10:19

Thanks for your reassurance ladies, I hope it’s just one of those things and not ectopic. 🤞The pain is not intense, a low niggle, like I’ve pulled a muscle. 3-4/10 I’d say but there’s a bit of a lumpy hard bit when I poke it. Been referred to EPU now but they don’t have slots til late afternoon so got to wait til 4... long day ahead 😞

RosieJess91 · 18/08/2020 10:20

We haven't DTD either, but I think that's more because my libido has disappeared out the window, hope it comes back because I'm sure my OH hasn't enjoyed it! But then again, I probably would have been sick on him, so he probably wouldn't have wanted that anyway. I feel a bit queasy today, but better than I have done for a few days and usually I take my tablets before I have breakfast, but made myself do it the other way round this morning. Hoping these anti sickness tablets will do the trick, I certainly kept down my dinner last night, hooray for small miracles!
I have to drive through a farm to get to work at about 11 every morning and it stinks, definitely couldn't live next to one, yikes!!! And I haven't been able to get into my skinny jeans since I must have been just coming up to 4 weeks, should have realised, I suppose! I can get in my mum jeans, bit more stretch to them! But mostly been wearing leggings or dresses. Need to go shopping!
Hope everyone else is okay, I do keep reading and meaning to message everyone back, but I always either fall asleep or get distracted and forget 😩

SkyBlue20 · 18/08/2020 14:46

Good luck with your scan @Sakura54!

SkyBlue20 · 18/08/2020 14:47

And good luck for your appointment @Poppy10121!

SkyBlue20 · 18/08/2020 14:48

@RosieJess91 Glad to hear you’re feeling a bit better, hopefully the medicine will just keep on helping you feel more and more improved. Take it easy on yourself xx

bubblybon20 · 18/08/2020 14:51

@Sakura54 good luck! 😀

Poppy10121 · 18/08/2020 14:54

Thank you @SkyBlue20 just on my way to EPU and absolutely shitting myself it’s bringing back so many bad memories of the MMC and aftermath 😞

bubblybon20 · 18/08/2020 15:06

@Poppy10121 fingers crossed for you 🤞🏻 keep us updated! X

SkyBlue20 · 18/08/2020 16:11

Big handhold, @Poppy10121, we're all here for you xx

Poppy10121 · 18/08/2020 16:33

Thanks for all your supportive messages 💕
Scan went fine! The first thing the sonographer did was turn the screen round and say “here’s your baby, there’s it’s heartbeat” ❤️❤️❤️ She was so reassuring and kind which was lovely as it’s so tough to go in there alone without OH.
All good and measuring at 7 weeks (think I am 6+5). They couldn’t see any cause for the pain so hopefully it’s just one of those random things and will go away again soon 🤞 thinking I will book a private scan in 3 weeks time as I hadn’t realised how relieved I would feel to see things progressing normally.

Pugprincess · 18/08/2020 16:48

@Poppy10121 awww fantastic news ❤️❤️❤️ Did you get a scan pic, x

SkyBlue20 · 18/08/2020 16:56

AMAZING, @Poppy10121! So happy for you! 💕

I watched a thing the other day about how there are new guidelines for sonographers on how they share news and I’m wondering if ‘there’s your baby, there’s it’s heartbeat’ is one of them as I had the same at my EPU scan and very similar at my private one. It’s amazing as they tell you so quickly and reassure you right away - maybe it’s because of our histories.

Workingmama1 · 18/08/2020 17:34

Amazong news @Poppy10121! Nice to be measuring slightly ahead too 😊

Sakura54 · 18/08/2020 17:40

Thanks all. I’m so relieved to tell you that all is well. Heard the heartbeat. Maybe things will be ok after all? I‘ve gone forward to near my original due date after the early scan put me back so 12 +2 now. Due date is one day earlier lol.
