@SkyBlue20 you can totally have Christmas Dinner in April! My daughter was born in early December so my Christmas Dinner was pate, rare steak and champagne 🍾

Abi0795 · 16/08/2020 21:02

@SkyBlue20 my next milestone would be 5 weeks so just praying I get to that. Then it won't be long until maybe an early scan if I get that far.

Do you ladies recommend early scans or not? xx

ew1990 · 16/08/2020 21:19

Id recommend one for about 8/9 weeks. Can make out more of a baby shape. But the chance of a baby after seeing a heartbeat at 10 weeks is something like 99.4%.

My next milestone now is my 12 week scan. Just patiently (Not!) Waiting for the letter with the date.

Hope you've all had a fab weekend

Maggi85 · 16/08/2020 22:50

Hi all just catching up I have been off here for a week or so. My 12 week scan is on 7th Sept at 9am - I had a early scan at Hospital and all was ok but I’ve had miscarriages at later dates so very anxious still hoping the next couple of weeks goes by quickly xx

SmileyT · 17/08/2020 08:15

@Maggi85 we are scan buddies mine is also 7th Sep at 9am 🤞 as long as my scan next week is still good news x

Sakura54 · 17/08/2020 09:25

So the moment of truth has arrived. I have my 12 week scan tomorrow, here we go again. Feels like I’ve been waiting forever. It’s at such a late time so I’m going to have to somehow distract myself all day...petrified.

@SkyBlue20 So pleased for you and that’s great your hubby got to see baby.

@RosieJess91 I’m consultant led too as I have a lot of pregnancies issues (as I’ve said many times before lol). My first consultant appt is at 16 weeks. Apparently all the issues can be discussed and they will make decisions about your care. I had a consultant in my third trimester last time but that was due to one specific issue. Usually if it’s not your first baby, you get less appointments, but with high risk pregnancies you get extra monitoring and scans.

How old is your boy? I definitely wouldn’t be able to cope with twins, as much of an amazing miracle they would be. I think I’ll just about survive with a baby and hyper toddler! Well that’s what I’m telling myself.

Good luck for your scan today @Sakura54 :-)

Abi0795 · 17/08/2020 09:39

Did anyone have a bit of spotting in really early pregnancy? Tbh I'm not even sure I'd glass it as spotting. I just keep getting very very smell specs of brownish when I wipe after going to the loo.

No fresh blood or anything, as I'm only 4 weeks and this would be the time of my period maybe it's normal xxx

Pugprincess · 17/08/2020 09:53

@Abi0795 yes I had that! Then it went a little browner as in more mixed with discharge and from yesterday I think its going lighter. Il upload some pics for you. Hope it doesn’t offend anyone sorry for tmi but I think it’s helpful when your worried. Can’t say I’m ok as not had a scan but you are not alone with this. So mine started as specks, then I had that watery stuff in 2nd pic, then next day during a bm I had thicker light brown discharge so I was scared as it seemed to be getting worse...

Then there was a fair amount but a touch lighter. Then finally yesterday that last pic I would describe as more beige so I’m hoping it’s going away. During my last bm last night more came out on tissue and that looked ok so fingers crossed it’s normal and yours will settle down too 🤞🏻

bubblybon20 · 17/08/2020 09:55

@Sakura54 you're 12 week scan feels like it's come round really fast! But I know for you, it probably feels like ages! X

Workingmama1 · 17/08/2020 09:58

Eeek these 12 week scans are starting to come round fast! (Although I'm sure it doesn't feel like it for those with them coming up soon, early pregnancy seems to last approximately 13563 days!). Good luck tomorrow @Sakura54

I've not even got a booking appointment yet, but that's as I've not registered yet after the sonographers less than optimistic "let's do it once we've confirmed the pregnancy is viable after your next scan". She didn't mention any indication of anything being wrong but her comment still worries me when I remember it (I'm trying to push it to the back of my mind).

Abi0795 · 17/08/2020 10:00

Hi @Pugprincess yes it looks quite similar. I'm sure it can be completely normal xxx

Pugprincess · 17/08/2020 10:03

@Workingmama1 I haven’t booked in with my midwife yet either even though the docs told me to do it ASAP. Last time I got the congratulations letter and info from her in post just as I was miscarrying and it’s heartbreaking. Mine only wanted to do an over the phone app anyway so I can’t see I’m missing out on much with being under the hospital anyway. I think I will wait till my first scan at approximately 6+5 first if nothing goes wrong before then. I’m very cautious. My docs requires you to print a form to fill in for midwife but I have no printer ink. I’m back at school next week though so maybe I can do it there...

SkyBlue20 · 17/08/2020 10:48

Morning everyone!

@Abi0795 I second what @ew1990 says about scans - I had a 7 week one last pregnancy and measured 6 weeks and saw a heartbeat, it was good to know that everything was as it should be, it wasn't ectopic or a blighted ovum, etc, but it did little else to reassure me in other ways (and it ended in MMC anyway). This time we were going to wait until 10 weeks but I had a bleed at 8+4 so got scanned then and it was better in the sense that you can make out the baby shape and you know you're that bit further along for everything to be ok, etc. It's completely up to you and what your anxieties are though - I absolutely did the right thing for me last time as I was so worried that there just wasn't even a baby there at all and it was reassuring in that sense.

@Sakura54 Good luck tomorrow, hope the day flies by for you and everything goes well. Scans are so terrifying after everything we've been through but you CAN do it. Sending strength. xx

@Workingmama1 I'm sure everything is absolutely ok, when is your next scan?

I think one of my wisdom teeth is coming through and it's so sore, hope it pops through soon and I don't need a dental appt - having one would worry me a bit with the whole Covid situation (I am overdue a checkup anyway though as was booked in just as lockdown started) and also want to wait for my exemption certificate! When do we get that, in fact? I got mine through the post just after my first MW appt last time but didn't have that appt this time round 🤷🏻‍♀️ Think my old one is still valid, mind 🙈

How's everyone doing today? I'm VERY sleepy and feeling a bit sick but just had some mango, which helped. Can't face water but trying to get some down me. The second trimester and hopefully feeling somewhat better feels a long way off yet! 😫

Paaigee · 17/08/2020 13:29

Hi Girls.
I'm currently 6weeks to the day & im a nervous wreck.
In May we found out we'd had a MMC at our 12 week scan (baby had stopped around 5+6) I ended up having an emergency D&C due to loosing so much blood. This time around I have ZERO symptoms, pregnancy tests remain dark & I had an early scan due to some pain 2 weeks ago and they could see 'something' in the womb (so ruled out ectopic) my HCG levels increased on both draws the first by 76% & second by 70%.

Iv had zero miscarriage symptoms but I had none last time also. How the hell do o relax a little about this, I think the lack of symptoms is freaking me out, is anyone the same? Also I have a check up scan on Thursday to make sure everything is going well but my anxiety is crazy just now

RosieJess91 · 17/08/2020 13:43

@Sakura54 he's 4, but because he'd had no school since March he either acts like a 2 year old or acts like he's 15!

Waiting for a call back from my GP today to find out what to do about my HG, as I've barely kept water down. Felt so weak it's unbelievable, I just shake when I'm standing. My OH said he can't remember me being this bad last time. It's not fun, hoping it lasts to the normal 14 week point rather than the whole way through.
Not sure whether I feel so bad because of my heart condition though.

Workingmama1 · 17/08/2020 15:24

@Paaigee I think we've all struggled with some form of anxiety this time round. I've found working towards mini milestones has helped, my next one will be 7 weeks on Thursday.

Is anyone else struggling to concentrate? I think it's a combination of anxious thoughts, nausea, tiredness and a weird brain fog that seems to have decended, I'm normally pretty on it but have been so useless at work today it's actually embarrassing!

@SkyBlue20 next scan is Monday, I'll be 7+4 (or +2 going off the last scan) so all being well should see a bean and a heartbeat. I'm nervous as last time my scan at that point didn't go well but they wouldnt confirm a miscarriage for another two weeks.

@RosieJess91 I hope the dr can give you something for your HG!

RosieJess91 · 17/08/2020 16:22

@Workingmama1 doctor phoned, I ended up bursting into tears, how ridiculous, and she said she'd look into what medications I can take because there are so many I'm not allowed due to my heart, said she'd ring back because there was a lot to read through, that was 20 minutes ago, haven't heard back yet. Still sat at home with my head down the toilet. Nearly passed out on my next door neighbour earlier.
I was so happy a week ago, so, so happy and I know I should take this as a positive sign that things are progressing normally, etc, but I just feel awful, my back aches, my stomach and my chest hurt from being sick so much. I feel so weak and dizzy and exhausted.
I need to stop complaining. 😭

Poppy10121 · 17/08/2020 17:07

Oh @RosieJess91 that sounds so tough! I hope they can find you some medicine!

@Workingmama1 I could have written your post! I am the same dates as you and really struggled today, I slept for 8.5 hours last night and still woke up feeling like I'd been out on the piss and then hit by a bus!

Feeling so queasy today and the unhealthy cravings have kicked in, earlier today I had to pop out to buy a Double Decker - never even normally have choc in the house because I never fancy it!

My latest paranoia is now worrying about ectopic, I've had a faint stabby pain on and off in my right side today. It's not constant though and not a very bad pain, so I am trying to ignore it and hope it goes away. After all my stressful dealings with EPU last time around I am really really trying to avoid any interaction with them this pregnancy!

SkyBlue20 · 17/08/2020 19:41

Welcome, @Paaigee, I’m so sorry for your loss. As I said on your thread, the anxiety is completely normal, especially after what we’ve all been through. I think most of us have managed by setting little milestones - get to five weeks, get to six weeks, ring the midwife, etc. It’s been six weeks since I found out I was pregnant and it’s definitely been a rollercoaster but as the weeks go on, it gets easier and when you look back, it does feel like it’s gone relatively quickly. We’re all here for a handhold whatever you are feeling - odds are, one of us has been through it too. Everything sounds really positive for you and I wouldn’t worry too much about lack of symptoms - you might be one of the lucky ones or they might still kick in. Glad you have a scan on Thursday, it will hopefully help to reassure you. Xx

@RosieJess91 You poor thing, wish there were something I could do to help. Did you hear back from your doctor? Xx

@Workingmama1 I’ve hardly been able to concentrate all year, it’s ridiculous - between first pregnancy then the MMC now this pregnancy, I’ve definitely not been very productive at all. Recently I’ve found that I’m just not productive until after lunch, so have changed my working day a bit so I start a little later, procrastinate somewhat but then work until about 6:30/7 as that’s when I’m getting stuff done! Hand hold for your scan, it’ll be here before you know it. I’m sure all is fine but you know we’re all here if it isn’t and you know you can get through whatever the day brings - you’re strong and you’ve done it before. Xx

Just dragged myself out for a stroll, my legs feel so heavy, can barely pick them up. My knees are so sore too, which i know is because of the joints loosening and the fact I’ve not been doing my physio. I’m so annoyed at myself but I just do not have the energy, I’m constantly exhausted! I intended to do it at the weekend when I had two full days to play with and no work to work around but I was more exhausted then than through the week (think part of it was emotional this weekend just gone). Hopefully I’ll be able to do something this week as this is going to deteriorate badly if they’re already sore at this stage 😫

RosieJess91 · 17/08/2020 19:45

I have been prescribed Prochlorperazine, it's a weird one that I've got to let dissolve between my upper lip and gum, let's hope it works! 🤞

ew1990 · 17/08/2020 20:30

@skyblue20 oh hope it eases for you soon.

@paaigee welcome and sorry for your loss

I had to get maternity work trousers today as I couldn't even zip mine up never mind button them 🙈 deffo think it's bloat but I seem wider too x

bubblybon20 · 17/08/2020 20:46

@ew1990 I also feel wider! Had a sore hip the past few days too 🤣🙈

Pugprincess · 17/08/2020 21:51

@ew1990 both times I’ve got preg I have to say bye to my jeans from day 1 😅 no chance with my bloat lol. I will upload a pic, you would think I was further than 5 weeks lol. Think I’m back to normal discharge now 😁🤞🏻
