Awww @skyblue20 I think it's totally normal to get some pre scan anxiety. Especially as you'll now unexpectedly be going alone. But like you said you've still got your symptoms and had a good scan a few weeks ago so the odds are definitely in your favour. Good luck, I'll be thinking about you, especially as you will be just down the road!

Thankfully my headache has eased, its still there but not as bad. I've been super thirsty today so not sure if i was dehydrated. I'll probably be up all night peeing!

DanceM1 · 08/09/2020 21:15

@SkyBlue20 good luck for tomorrow. I am certain you will be fine and cannot wait to see your lovely scan photo. Its so frustrating that your DH can't be there... i just missed out by 2 days as they started letting people in just after mine. You will be fine but I 100% understand the nerves and felt exactly the same before mine. Totally agree about covid as well.. its getting a little worrying again now. I really hope people are careful but I'm not so sure.

SkyBlue20 · 08/09/2020 21:51

Thanks @Workingmama1 @DanceM1 😘

No sore ear for me when lying down, DanceM1, and glad your headache has eased, WorkingMama1.

SmileyT · 08/09/2020 21:58

@Sakura54 I think I just have a preference for boys as my brother has 3 boys and they were all so easy and I'm used to it, plus I think my nephews will be more interested in a boy... but we shall see what fate has in store for me ❤️ haha my pics also look like I'm arching my back but I think my arse has just got bigger 😂 fingers crossed you can avoid the GD this time x

@SkyBlue20 ahh I'm so sorry DH can't come with you tomorrow that is such crappy news but on the plus side you get to go in and see your little peach wriggling around. My DP sat outside the hospital and waited for me and he was so overjoyed when I sent him the message saying all was good. I know it won't be the same but as long as your bubba is all good the rest will soon be forgotten. I'll be thinking of you at 11am and eagerly awaiting your update. I didn't get any sleep the night before my scan but I hope your vivid dreams give you a bit of a break xx

Pugprincess · 09/09/2020 01:05

Hi guys just caught up, been busy with work and then getting jobs done when home and falling asleep at silly early o’clock on sofa 😂 I’ve not really felt sick for two days now that worries me however both evenings I’ve had growing pains so fingers crossed all is ok. Don’t seem to get much relief from scans as there’s soon something I find to worry about 😩 wish I could have one every weekend 😅🙈 would be bankrupt though as many of you say 😩 il be 8 weeks tomorrow and that’s the the day I lost the baby last time, the day I turned 8 weeks so a milestone for me.

Regarding covid we still have heard nothing back about the girl 😩 hopefully tomorrow 🤞🏻 I’m wearing my visor around the kids as like one of you said it’s impossible to distance from them, there’s not enough room in class to do it and you can’t help them without getting near, our kids are only age 6. I’m washing my hands, disinfecting classroom regularly as I don’t fully trust the cleaners to do a good job and think it needs doing frequently, and using my hand gel constantly. When I get home I’m stripping off. Bathing, I spray my rucksack and lunch bag with zoflora and the lunch bag gets hung outside overnight lol. I spray and wipe my keys/phone and my water bottle is in dishwasher every night. Hopefully I’m doing enough. We are keeping doors and windows open too, will be cold in winter! I also disinfect my visor each evening. I am also trying to sit or stand as far away from the kids as I can as frequently as I can. I last saw the girl last weds so hopefully being a week ago tomorrow one more week and I’d be in the clear fully from her. I can’t see schools staying open at this rate. More and more are being named where I am as having cases. Oh we’re also making kids wash hands and hand gel frequently too. If any cough or sneeze I send them to wash hands. Constantly asking them to take their fingers out their mouths 😩 tonight I sprayed all the chairs with disinfectant before I left lol. We spray tables before and after lunch too.

@SkyBlue20 that is such a shame I’m gutted for you 😩 sending you strength and positive vibes 💖 best of luck for tomorrow xx

SkyBlue20 · 09/09/2020 06:51

Morning everyone! Slept a grand total of five hours last night, glad I’ve got the day off work so I can have a nap later. I dreamt of this thread and that I discovered my neighbour was actually one of you guys 😂🙈 It was so vivid!

@SmileyT With you on the expanding backside 😂 Thanks for the well wishes. Going to ask the sonographer if I can text DH as soon as I know all is ok (🤞🏼) as he’ll be beside himself after last time.

@Pugprincess Sending big hugs, coming up to the same time as last time is so difficult. Take it east on yourself and we’re all here for you. Sounds like you’re being super sensible at school, I think it’s all you can do and you’ll definitely be reducing your risk. Thanks also for your well wishes xx

How’s everyone doing today? Any weird and wonderful symptoms going on?

Pugprincess · 09/09/2020 07:36

@SkyBlue20 I had a weird dream too. Someone I know was having an affair with billy from eastenders?! We could hear them dtd from outside cause a window was open. Soooo random. Dunno what brought that one on. 😅

SmileyT · 09/09/2020 08:05

@Pugprincess sounds like you have acclimatised well to the new normal in this COVID world. I've worked all the way through from March and there have been quite a few cases at work, luckily not with people I was in direct contact with, and one guy in my office sadly died 😕 I'd be surprised if they close schools though, not sure what working parents would do if they have to take time off work unpaid again, unless the government does a u-turn and decides that nobody that has to come into contact with others have to work. I get the London Underground to work and don't have any other option so I've been doing the same as you and just trying to be vigilant with hand washing and sanitising gel and just use a disposable mask everyday, must be harder to get used to it though if you haven't had to deal with it the last 6 months. Hope the test for the girl comes back negative so there is one less thing to worry about. Have you been watching Eastenders? Love that show 😂 x

@SkyBlue20 luckily my scan was at 9am so scan was all done by 9.35 as think I was the first one in and I'd already prepared myself for a wait. I waited until he had finished the scan to text OH but that's because although I'd heard HB I'm obviously paranoid and wanted to make sure there wasn't anything else he found with NT measurements and stuff 🙈 only a few hours and you'll get to give hubby the good news ❤️

bubblybon20 · 09/09/2020 08:08

@SkyBlue20 good luck for you scan this morning, keep us all posted how it goes 😀 x

ew1990 · 09/09/2020 08:24

Not read the new posts yet but @skyblue20 you'll be fine, thinking of you and cant wait to see the picture xx

SkyBlue20 · 09/09/2020 11:41

Everything is perfect! Measuring a day ahead of LMP (two days ahead of previous scans) so now 13+4 and due date is 13.03.20.
NT measurement of 1.8.
Just waiting for my bloods now but am absolutely thrilled! Baby was wriggling around and being stubborn so took the sonographer a while to get the NT measurement but all perfect.
So, SO relieved and actually excited for the first time this pregnancy. Can’t wait to get out to my husband and give him a big hug (I have of course already updated him). Sonographer has had a MMC herself in the past so was incredible, she told me really quickly that all was ok and let me text my husband to update him.
Thanks for all of your well wishes, everyone 🥰

RosieJess91 · 09/09/2020 12:03

Glad everything was perfect @SkyBlue20!

Just received my letter with my scan date - 29th September at 9.15am! Glad it's first thing in the morning. I'll be exactly 13 weeks by then. 🤞 I think I can wait 20 days....

Workingmama1 · 09/09/2020 12:21

@skyblue20 amazing news!

@rosiejess91 good news on getting a scan date, I'm hoping mine will be the same week. Also good it's a nice early one so you won't be fretting all day!

ew1990 · 09/09/2020 12:30

@skyblue20 yayyy! I could cry for you. Lovely photo.

I had a weird dream last night that there was a man in our house with a gun trying to shoot us and we had to keep hiding.

I bought my first baby things yesterdAy. Just a little hooded towel and I rattle comforter thingy. Couldn't resist the middle aisle in Aldi! 😂 won't get anything else now untill after the 20 week scan

Hope everyone's doing ok 😊

bubblybon20 · 09/09/2020 12:34

@SkyBlue20 ahhh so glad your scan went perfectly! And that your starting to feel excited now.

@ew1990 eeeeek! I have 3 small unisex babygrows, but haven't brought anything else and probably won't either until 20 weeks! Feel like everything feels so, surreal now! Crazy the stages we are all at! 💕

Sakura54 · 09/09/2020 14:55

@SkyBlue20 Aw so happy for you and wahey you’re a bit further on! Must be nice to see movement. Mine stayed completely still so I was scared it wasn’t alive until I saw the heartbeat.

As for weird symptoms, this is TMI, but I sometimes have an itchy/sore butt lol usually after I go to the toilet. It’s a pregnancy symptom apparently but it’s not bad. I also still get yucky thick CM when I wipe. My tiredness seems to have improved. I haven’t napped for a while, not even that day I complained about waking before 6am.

Thanks guys. If it’s ok then I have another GTT at the usual time for others which is around 25 weeks @Workingmama1 It’s not a pleasant test and I have to go at 8am and stay for a couple of hours. Not allowed to eat until after. I didn’t get diagnosed until pretty late last time as they forgot until I enquired and then I had a premature birth so didn’t have to deal with it for too long. The only positive thing is getting extra scans but I might be entitled to them anyway due to other issues. Not happy about having to go to hospital twice next week. Luckily DM or DH are around to take me to all my appointments.

@Pugprincess 6 is so young. You’re not even allowed to wear masks are you? That sounds so long but at least you know you’re doing all you can and hopefully it’s true that kids are less likely to catch and spread it.

That dream is funny. I’ve been watching EastEnders for many, many years. It’s the only soap I watch.

OP posts:
ew1990 · 09/09/2020 15:21

@sakura my scan was the same. Baby Didn't move much she said it was hard to measure as all curled up. After some coughing and wriggling baby stretched out though. I was proper worried untill she was showing me abd I could see a little arm keep popping up.

@bubblybon20 I've got friends one who's just had a boy and one due a girl so told me not to buy anything yet as they will pass all stuff to me when I know what I'm having

bubblybon20 · 09/09/2020 15:40

@ew1990 that's really handy! 😀😀

Pugprincess · 09/09/2020 16:54

Congratulations @SkyBlue20! Another into the second trimester. I hope to join you all in about 4/5 weeks lol. Bet you are so relieved! Lovely scan pic too. Must have been gorgeous watching the movement’s 💖

@SmileyT Yh I think you’re right in the sense that I’ve been mostly sheltered from it and now it’s in my face day to day all day long so it’s taking a lot of adjustment. It would be chaos if we closed again so I bet they will do anything to avoid that but I do think with all the colds etc a lot of kids will miss a lot of school still. For example that girl I refer too as far as I’m aware hasn’t been tested as the guidelines changed to only if you have symptoms (unless you are a key worker I think) so she now has to stay off school for two weeks and she might actually be fine. We have another girl off as she’s got a cold and a boy went home throwing up today. Despite better hygiene they are still dropping like flies 🙈

I haven’t watched eastenders for years so that makes my dreams even weirder. Don’t even know where that came from lol.

SkyBlue20 · 09/09/2020 17:33

Thanks everybody, we’re so relieved 🥰 I’m dying to tell our friends but we’re going to wait until we hear back (or don’t) on the screening results. My hospital said I’ll hear within 72 hours if there’s a problem but if it’s low risk we just won’t hear back 🤷🏻‍♀️ Got my 20 week scan on 27th Oct - I’ll update the dates on the other thread! Also booked my GTT for 5th Dec (needed as my dad has diabetes). I can’t believe I have an official due date!! Eeeeek! First thing DH did when I told him it was the 13th was check it wasn’t a Friday 😂
I didn’t actually see baby wriggling too much as took the sonographer ages to get the NT measurement as baby was in slightly the wrong position, so the screen was facing her mostly - I had to go half empty my bladder at first as was so full baby didn’t have much space 😂🙈 but she told me it was moving around lots after that. I did see its little arm move though. It was definitely more of a medical scan than an ‘entertainment’ one - she showed me all the parts of the body but I didn’t get much time to just watch baby like we did at the private scan. Still, very pleased and actually it does feel like DH didn’t miss out on too much in that sense.

@RosieJess91 Congrats on getting your scan date! It’ll be here before you know it 💕

@ew1990 Oh no, what a horrible dream! Yay to buying your first baby bits, we’re going to buy a cute Cardi I’ve fallen in love with and that’s it until after the 20 week scan. Although I am going to get my husband a little something baby related for his bday later this month - am thinking matching England shirts could work as baby will be here for the Euros next year and we’ll love sitting there with them, watching 🥰

Pugprincess · 09/09/2020 18:02

@SkyBlue20 aw would you perhaps go for another private scan soon so you can both watch and enjoy more xx

DanceM1 · 09/09/2020 19:10

@SkyBlue20 im so so pleased for you!!! Amazing news. My scan was similar in that I hardly got to see baby...part of the reason I went for another private on Monday 😂

@Pugprincess it sounds like you are being super careful! I have been told I'm allowed a visor but havent yet got one... i wasn't going to worry but if numbers continue to rise maybe I will. Im full of a cold after 1 week back though so it shows that things are still spreading! Im starting to feel a little more nervy but I wash and sanitise my hands constantly and get the children to do the same.
@Sakura54 im having the glucose test too as diabetes is in the family... it takes a lot of time doesnt it! Hoping all will be OK though like you. Im trying to be careful about what im eating!

SkyBlue20 · 09/09/2020 19:39

Yes, I think we will at around 16/17 weeks as I doubt DH will be able to come to the 20 week either. These private scan places must be raking it in at the moment!

Haha I don’t blame you! Thank you 🥰

Workingmama1 · 09/09/2020 20:57

@SkyBlue20 ita good that they've said they'll let you know within 72 hours for screening. I think they said something similar with my daughter, then I got a letter but they didnt give out odds, it just said low risk less than 1:150. I actually think that's good as then you don't fixate on a number!

@ew1990 that's lovely of your friend! My daughter has had a lot of hand me downs, they are in them for such a short space of time often they are in great condition.

I've been feeling crampy for the last few evenings, I'm pretty sure it's just normal cramping, it's more irritating than painful, but it doesn't help my anxiety levels! Was meant to go to bootcamp tonight but just couldn't be bothered!

@Sakura54 I had to have a gtt last time and remember it well! Will need one again this time too.
