Oh no, @Pugprincess! Hope the girl's test comes back negative 🤞🏼

@RosieJess91 Sorry you're feeling so rough, you've had it so bad, you poor thing! Hope the new bed is wonderful!

Pugprincess · 07/09/2020 18:30

Me too @SkyBlue20 🤞🏻 My MIL did that ring thing on me but I’m not sure if the article has it the right way around, I was told back and forth is a boy, I got 3 boys, I had a strong feeling my mc baby was a boy. I suspect this one is too...

bubblybon20 · 07/09/2020 18:32

@SkyBlue20 what an interesting read!
2 came back as girl, but 4 came up as a boy! 85% certain im having another boy!
Defo a bit of fun!

bubblybon20 · 07/09/2020 18:32

@Pugprincess do hope she comes back negative for you! Defo don't need anymore stress.
In regards to symptoms mine came and went an awful lot in the first few weeks!

SmileyT · 07/09/2020 19:51

Thanks for all the well wishes, something very strange about that official 12w scan that feels so different to the scan just over a week ago so I'm enjoying this feeling for however long it lasts x

@SkyBlue20 yay due date buddies, can't wait to see the good news of your scan Wednesday ❤️

@RosieJess91 sorry you've had a rough day with sickness 😩

@Pugprincess ahh really hope that the girls test comes back negative, will you take a test anyway? 2nd trimester whoop whoop, think something clicked inside me and actually felt so much less tired today 😂

In regards to gender I'd love a boy but have an overwhelming feeling it's a girl... would love either obviously but only about 3weeks until I can find out, then it'll be time to tell my parents 🥳

Pugprincess · 07/09/2020 19:54

@SmileyT no I will hold on and see what her results are. She was last in weds and her relative tested pos on Friday so fingers crossed we’re not affected. X

Pugprincess · 07/09/2020 19:57

Just scares me how easily this things going to spread and affect schools I think. Only my 3rd week back and 2nd with kids and I’ve heard of 2 suspected cases, there maybe more, these are just ones I’ve heard about. A local school has an outbreak so it’s high in the area x

Workingmama1 · 07/09/2020 20:28

🤞 her test comes back negative @Pugprincess. I suspect that it will be a continuing theme woth schools now, with so many kids in one space it's likely one with either test positive sooner rather than later. The school I used to teqch in was one of the first to send a year group home last week after a positive test, and the academy trust I used to be a governor for had to donthe same with one of their academies.

After saying I felt OK and worrying I've predictably felt like crap for the rest of the day. I had a full blown craving for a sausage and cheese toastie and actually had to do a trip out to tesco express to buy sausages! I've also eaten 3/4 of a lemon drizzle cake (disappointingly as I was craving ginger cake but they didn't have any!). Fatty corner but it's helping to keep the nausea at bay.

@smileyT I can imagine there is some about the "officialness" of the NHS scan that makes it feel different, welcome to the 2nd trimester! Hoping to join you in a few weeks 🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞

@SkyBlue20 not long until yours, is it morning or afternoon on Wednesday? I've never done the gender prediction things but interesting you got a clear girl result...

@rosiejess91 hope the sickness starts to ease soon, it should do hopefully in a week or so if you 10 weeks this week?

DanceM1 · 07/09/2020 21:00

@smileyT yeyyy congratulations!!❤

It seems ive become a scan addict and I went for another private scan tonight 😂 we really wanted to hear the heartbeat so that was lovely. Also found out i have an anterior placenta so i won't feel baby move til at least 20 weeks she thinks but never mind.. at least I know! Im glad we went but I probably need to stop for a while now ha. @MoltenLasagne I've had a scan every 2 weeks since 8 weeks. Its going to bankrupt me but has helped me through my anxiety!

@bubblybon20 I forgot to say I'm loving the pregnancy pillow from Asda. First couple of nights it gave me a sore neck but I've kept adjusting how I use it so it doesn't hurt my neck any more! It's great.

I feel like there is much more I wanted to reply to but i can never remember everything. Ill have another look in a minute!!

DanceM1 · 07/09/2020 21:09

@Pugprincess I have the lightning crotch every now and then too!! It takes you by surprise doesnt it! Hope that the girl in your class comes back negative. Its a worry isnt it. I had a boy off today because somebody close to him had tested positive but he is coming back in tomorrow without having a test because he has no symptoms 😬 scary. I dont wear a visor or anything but I wonder sometimes whether I need to be a bit more careful. Its just impossible to make sure they make good progress without going sitting and working with them!!

bubblybon20 · 07/09/2020 21:14

@DanceM1 so nice going for scan! I love it, I've got one booked for the 26th but feels like forever away 😫 going to purchase a pillow from Asda at the end of the month! Thankyou for letting me know it's good. I've seen a few and the prices are ridiculous 🤣

RosieJess91 · 07/09/2020 21:50

Thanks everyone, feeling a bit better this evening. Tired now though, laying on my new bed not wanting to move...

The Huggies thing is interesting. I'm a right mixture, proper split down the middle!
My mum used to do this trick with a needle and thread, similar to the wedding ring, it always told me if have 2 boys and a girl, boy, girl, boy. I have my boy so far.
Every single person my mum's ever done the trick on has come out correct. She did it on a neighbour once who we thought had 2 girls, and it added a boy in and we found out he was at uni and that's why we'd never met him. So it's not about her nudging it the right way, it really seems to work.
With my OH, it says girl, boy, boy, girl and boy. So same as me, because he has a 21 year old daughter and 15 year old son, before our son. It's quite creepy! 🤷‍♀️

Poppy10121 · 08/09/2020 08:52

@SkyBlue20 thanks for the link! I’m going to find a string later to try with my ring, most of the others are saying boy which is kind of what I felt as well - I have the opposite of you, a male cat, and can imagine myself in a house of boys 😊

@Pugprincess how stressful for you! I hope the tests come back negative!

I’ve had the worst nights sleep ever. Woke up at 3am from a nightmare where my doctor told me all my eggs were too old and with too many problems to ever have a successful pregnancy. I’ve been awake ever since tossing and turning and worrying, got to start work in 10mins and I’m wondering about having a sick day but my boss doesn’t know about this pregnancy yet and it feels hard to have a sick day when WFH because it’s so little physical effort ☹️

SkyBlue20 · 08/09/2020 11:45

Morning everyone! How're we all doing?

@SmileyT Yes, I can imagine the 12 week scan feels so special - it's such a milestone! I think after mine I might actually allow myself to believe it's going to happen... eeeeek! Has it sunk in for anyone else yet that there should be an actual real life baby at the end of this, that we will love and look after for the rest of our lives?! It's huge! It certainly hasn't sunk in for me 😂 Does it ever sink in, even when they're born? 😂

@Pugprincess It is terrifying how much it will spread amongst schools - I read a thing yesterday saying that there are already 1,000 pupils in Greater Manchester, from 15 schools, having to isolate. They've only been back two mins! I guess the good thing is that a lot of those isolating won't actually have come in to very close direct contact with the person that does have it and also that kids aren't affected badly - just hope they have such weak strains that if they pass it on to adults, it doesn't affect them too badly. I have so much respect for teachers, it must be such a hard time.

@Workingmama1 Seems horrible to say but glad you felt rotten! Your cravings sound delicious! My scan is 11am, so not too long to wait in the morning.

@DanceM1 Ahh must have been lovely to see and hear baby again. Interesting to know about the placenta, too - and will help you to not worry if you don't start feeling movement for a bit.

@RosieJess91 Dying to know what that trick is your mum does, it sounds really good!

@Poppy10121 Sorry to hear you had a rubbish night and horrible dreams! Did you call in sick today? Can you maybe fit in a nap if not?

My morning has flown by in a flurry of Zoom calls, am absolutely shattered now though and also feeling a bit sickly today, am nibbling on crackers with butter and they seem to be helping. My back is so sore from working at the dining table, too - might have to go get a chair from the office one of these days and see if that helps!

bubblybon20 · 08/09/2020 13:36

@SkyBlue20 hope you're able to have a nap at some point today!

I'm in a pickle, me and DH was going to do the gender balloon on the 26th, but it's DS birthday the 27th so now debating doing a big thing for it. As tbh I don't want to take the shine away from DS birthday as he'll be so excited! 😀Plus we never did any gender announcements with either of our boys!
So hoping to just find out between us and tell our close family, as I'm not one to put it all over Facebook would rather keep it between us! And hold off as long as possible! 🤣🙈

RosieJess91 · 08/09/2020 15:36

@SkyBlue20 you put a needle on a thread, long enough to dangle, put your left hand flat on a table with your fingers spread, palm down, drop the needle flat on the outside of your little finger, then between each finger and then again after your thumb, and then dangle it on top of your hand. If it spins in a circle it's a boy, if it sways side to side it's a girl, do the whole thing again and again until the needle stops dead above your hand. (Might be the other way round, I always remember when I do it, but am never completely certain when I'm just discussing it...) try not to prick yourself too many times! I'll ask my mum which way round it is and get back to you to confirm if I got it right or not 😂

SkyBlue20 · 08/09/2020 15:49

ARGH! My hospital has just range to say my husband can no longer go to the scan tomorrow. SO CLOSE! It's because it's Bolton and they've just gone in to further lockdown. I get it but it's so frustrating (and I don't live in Bolton, wish they made exceptions 😂), if only we'd been booked in a day earlier. The woman who rang was so apologetic, said they'd just been told themselves and she was having to let people know. Gutted.

Sakura54 · 08/09/2020 15:50

@SmileyT Finding out the sex is exciting! Boys are best, but if not it’s ok as girls are easier and calmer as babies apparently. My SIL actually said that she hoped I had a girl as my first baby, because if I have a boy, I might stop there! She also said she wouldn’t have had all those kids if her first was a boy as he was difficult unlike the girls (3 girls, 1 boy).

It’s hard isn’t it @Pugprincess I mean I wear a mask when I take DS to nursery (I’ve been wearing one everywhere since March) but don’t know what the point is seeing as he’s hanging out with kids and teachers, their dribble everywhere, touching everything, hugging each other. Hopefully the girl in your school won’t test positive.

So the blood test letter I’ve been waiting for has finally arrived. It’s for the Glucose Tolerance Test (GTT) so I’ll be getting two blood tests on Monday. If I fail it again it means no more sugar for me and pricking my finger many times a day which was a huge problem last time. It’s a big worry for me and one of my many pregnancy problems. You’re very likely to get gestational diabetes if you’ve had it before.

So I hit 15 weeks the other day so took a pic as it feels rounder and bigger but it just looks like I’m arching my back. I also took one of my bloat but it doesn’t really look like much either. There’ll be no pics from me anytime soon I don’t think, but keep yours coming guys. It’s nice to see progress! I seem to have woken up with some belly hair though!

Argh @skyblue20 how annoying! It was my first thought when I saw the announcement and they said limited hospital visits. You were so close to having him there!

Mine won't be at least for another 2-3 weeks (or longer if it goes past 13 weeks) but I'm doubtful things will have inproved enough by then.

I was feeling quite calm about the whole covid thing, but now it's so high in Bolton it actually concerns me a bit, especially as my daughter is at nursery. Also I really want to see my mum (thwy live down south) they were meant to come up when restrictions were being relaxed but instead they've got tighter! I've only seen my parents once since lockdown which sucks.

I've got a rubbish headache today and can't locate my 4head, managed a 15 minute nap between meetings but think I needed a 2 hour one!

Good luck for your gtt on Monday @Sakura54. If it comes back OK will they test you through your pregnancy or will that be it?

SkyBlue20 · 08/09/2020 16:02

Sorry, @bubblybon20, I think I'm being stupid - I don't get the dilemma. Is it whether to do a big gender reveal on DS's b'day or to just keep it the two of you another time?

@RosieJess91 Thank you, I'll definitely be giving that a go - I love things like that!

@Sakura54 Hope the test is ok on Monday 🤞🏼 Wow, 15 weeks - time feels like it's flying by!

bubblybon20 · 08/09/2020 16:08

@SkyBlue20 ahhh that's so frustrating for you! 😫😫 there's so many areas still in lockdown, my area hasn't long come out of the lockdown but assume they won't be letting anyone to scans for ages!!

@Sakura54 not good about having to prick your finger daily! Hoping you don't fail, but can totally understand your worries 😔 I feel the same, I thought I would be showing by now but I don't think I am, think it's all bloat at the moment 🙈 my tummy is quite squishy at the bottom still unless I'm lying in bed! So don't think il look really pregnant until 20 weeks!

bubblybon20 · 08/09/2020 16:09

@SkyBlue20 lol, think I worded they message so confusing. I think I'm arguing with myself about the whole thing! 🤣🤣

SkyBlue20 · 08/09/2020 16:11

Argh *@skyblue20* how annoying! It was my first thought when I saw the announcement and they said limited hospital visits. You were so close to having him there!

So frustrating. I know I'll be fine either way - I have to be - but I'm close to tears I'm that frustrated by it. I know I can't go back and change anything but if only they'd booked me in earlier - I'm 13+3 tomorrow, that's quite a late scan. If it had been closer to the 12 weeks then he could have been there 😔 I know it's pointless thinking that way but I'm just so sad for him that he can't come and a bit scared to go back to where it all happened last time without him there, I don't know how I'm going to feel.

It is terrible how bad it all is in Bolton now - my MIL, who lives in Bolton, is a (relatively recent) widow and lives alone so she's really been struggling with the restrictions getting tighter and tighter. She went away to visit her sister just before they reintroduced the 'no seeing other households' rule and now I think she's dreading coming back. She does have a bubble but it's with my BIL, his wife and my nephew, who live a couple of hours away, which is good as they can go stay with her but in some ways, we'd have made more sense as a bubble as we're round the corner so can see her more often. It's all a big mess. Must be so worrying with your DD in nursery and I really feel for you not having seen your parents in so long.

It's so hard for so many people in so many different ways, I really wish people would just be sensible about it and hopefully the cases will decrease but they just seem to be going steadily up at the moment.

Hope your headache disappears soon xx

SkyBlue20 · 08/09/2020 20:58

I’m getting nervous for my scan now. Just randomly had a memory of the night before my last one where DH and I were planning when we’d tell people and stuff and it just made me feel sad and a bit worried. I’m pretty sure that tomorrow should be ok - last time my symptoms fell off a cliff at 9 weeks and I have things now that I didn’t then (bit of belly growth, nipple changes, etc) so all feels ok comparatively but there’s just that little bit of me that’s like ‘but loads of people still have symptoms and have MMCs’. I just want it over now 😫

Sorry, very woe is me today! 🙈

DanceM1 · 08/09/2020 21:03

Hello! So sorry, I promise I will reply to everybody's comments soon but I have a quick question.... does lying on your side hurt anybody else's ear??? I know its the most ridiculous thing ever but it has actually woken me up in the night because seemingly, a few hours in my ear starts to ache 😂 Is this normal?!?!
