YAY, @Workingmama1! I've genuinely been refreshing the page waiting for you and said 'yay' out loud when I saw your post! So happy for you, great news! I hope you can now enjoy your holiday without worry 💕

bubblybon20 · 03/09/2020 16:14

So happy everything is all well for you! @Workingmama1 💕

What are people's thoughts on early gender scans? Is anyone having one?

I've booked one for 18 weeks so that my DH can come, then we're going to get a gender balloon at do it at home in the evening with the boys and my family.

Those things make me anxious though, like imagine if they give me a colour and it's different at the 20 week one 🤣🤣

ew1990 · 03/09/2020 16:45

@workingmama yay!!

@bubblybon20 I'm just waiting till the 20 week scan. I never did a gender reveal with DD and dont Think I will again.

I'm rubbish at tagging people on the app I can't go back and see who said what once I've started writing.

Hope the ladies with headaches feel better soon. I can suffer with migraines and they are awful. I feel a lot more relaxed since my scan which is good.

Hope everyone's doing ok x

RosieJess91 · 03/09/2020 17:11

Yay! Glad your scan went well @Workingmama1!! Knew it would do.

I don't think the midwife unit want to know about me, no one wants to call me back 😭😭😭

Poppy10121 · 03/09/2020 17:41

@Workingmama1 YAY so pleased for you! I hope you can now relax and enjoy your holidays :-)

@RosieJess91 I'm in a similar situation to you! I finally phoned and they said that a midwife should ring me nxt week for booking appt over the phone but they can't tell me when - so that's helpful! And apparently when I do have this mysterious phone call they will tell me about the 1 Oct appointment?! What a palaver.

Counting down now to my private scan a week on Monday, I'm kind of wishing I'd booked sooner now even though the EPU one was less than 2 weeks ago?! Can see how it gets addictive and people end up booking loads.

Lu93 · 03/09/2020 18:40

Aww @Workingmama1 I’m so pleased for you and glad you feel better after a scan, I’ve also had mine today and it went amazing after bursting out crying as soon as the sonographer put the screen on I could see it was a growing baby shaped bean with a perfect heart rate. I’m so over the moon right now hopefully we can relax now and we know our little cramps are normal!! I am measuring 8 wk 3 🤩

Morning all!

Ahhh another great scan, congratulations @Lu93!

@bubblybon20 I’ve left it up to DH to decide whether we find out the sex or not. I would but he’s unsure so if he doesn’t want to, we won’t. His latest is that he thinks he will though as the only reason he’s leaning towards not it because it’s ‘tradition’ and he appreciates that it will help us plan etc. Unsure as to whether we’ll find out early or wait until 20 weeks (probably wait but we are thinking of a scan between the 12 and 20 week ones if we feel we need one) but we’ve decided that if we do find out, we don’t want to just be told ‘it’s a boy’ or ‘it’s a girl’ in the hospital. We’d like for them to write it down and then not have a gender reveal exactly but do something special for the two of us to make it a bit of a ‘moment’. Not sure what yet though! I like your idea of doing it at home with your DC ☺️

I had the worst night’s sleep. First I dreamt I was caught up in a terror attack (why are my dreams punishing me at the moment?!) and then I woke up at 4:30, didn’t get back to sleep until 5:30, woke up at 6:15 when DH’s alarm went off and then dosed until about 8 when the workmen we have in arrived early so I had to jump out of bed quickly 😩 I see a nap on the lunchtime horizon!

bubblybon20 · 04/09/2020 08:35

@SkyBlue20 yeah I know what you mean! I'm sure whatever you and DH decide will be lovely 🥰 your dream sounds awful! 🙈 hopefully you'll be able to catch up on a nap this afternoon! 😄 x

ew1990 · 04/09/2020 10:40

@skyblue20 I have awful dreams. It must be a pregnancy thing. Not posted much DD has kept me very busy and I've been in bed about 8 for the last couple of nights. Had a few mornings where I've been heaving but no vomiting.

DD keeps talking about a baby saying she wants a girl. 😂

Hope everyone's doing ok. Congratulations on the scans over the last couple of days they make me so happy ❤

ew1990 · 04/09/2020 10:48

Oh I've just got my appointment for 20 week scan. The 20th October. That's not that far away!

RosieJess91 · 04/09/2020 12:26

Finally had a call this morning from the midwife to do my booking appointment and had to ask them to call me back later because I was about to head into work. 🤦🏼‍♀️
But yay! Someone finally wants to talk to me! Yay!!! Should be calling me back any minute now. I will finally know when I'll be having my scan. Hope it's soon, can't bear waiting any more!!

bubblybon20 · 04/09/2020 12:29

@ew1990 a week after mine! Hope it goes fast for us! 😀
@RosieJess91 really pleased someone's been in touch! Hopefully won't be much of a wait for you x

Sakura54 · 04/09/2020 13:05

For me, even if DH was allowed into scans, he might not be able to come as he is in the middle of intense training/studying for his new job and it’s a varying timetable. We’re both pretty easy-going when it comes to pregnancy stuff (maybe as it’s not our first baby) so I don’t mind waiting for my scan (under 5 weeks), finding out the sex and telling him after. Your idea sounds good @SkyBlue20

@bubblybon20 Sounds like they aren’t communicating with you well but that’s good you have 2 appts coming up soon and then your scan. Mine are at 16w and 19w then scan. I’m supposed to be having blood tests at 16 weeks but still haven’t received my letter so I’m just going to bring it up when I see them as I’m in no rush for more needles. That ugly bruise I had has just disappeared!

RosieJess91 · 04/09/2020 13:54

Finally had my booking in! Will be seen by a consultant once again. Will receive a letter with the scan date soon. Said I will have to ask for OH to come with me, just explain what happened last time. Got the same midwife as last time!
Said if I'm already showing and can't fit into my clothing at 9 weeks, then I could be having multiples or I'm further on than expected. Cheers...
Otherwise, all good! Finally.

SkyBlue20 · 04/09/2020 16:56

Afternoon everyone!

Don't know who I was kidding with a lunchtime nap - the workmen have only just left (with more work to do on Monday) and were so noisy. Plus it was all joinery work so now there's sawdust everywhere (despite them having hoovered up after themselves) so I'm going to have to do some cleaning when I eventually finish work. Relaxing Friday evening 🙈

@ew1990 Sorry you've been feeling so rough! Cute that your daughter is talking about baby 💕 What will the age difference be? Yay to 20 week scan - it'll be here before you know it!!

@RosieJess91 Woohoo to FINALLY having your booking in appt! Annoying you have to wait for the letter for the scan date but hopefully it'll be soon. Eeeeek to potential multiples or being further on than expected! Have you had an early scan or not? Sorry, goldfish memory!

Happy weekend everyone! Hope you have lovely plans. I am seeing one of my BFFs tomorrow for the first time since about Jan/Feb for a walk (timed that badly, should have done it the following weekend so I could tell her about baby) and then it'll just be some painting in the house (see: aforementioned joinery work). May also do some exercise at some point. Never wanted a weekend to go so quickly because then it's scan week! Just want it over with now!

ew1990 · 04/09/2020 17:02

@skyblue20 she'll be 3 years 4 months when baby arrives. I Was quite worried because she used to get really jealous when I held other people babies but I had hold of my friends baby last week and she stroked his head it was so cute!

Your scan will be here before you know it!

@rosiejess yay to the booking appointment.

My 16 week will be a phone appointment. I have to phone in the next couple of weeks to book it. Though it might be face to face so I could hear babies heartbeat but no 😞

RosieJess91 · 04/09/2020 19:28

@SkyBlue20 I call my memory loss pregnancy brain! I haven't had an early one, so I'm in for a total surprise in what I'm hoping will only be 2 weeks time.
Fingers crossed they'll let my other half in, otherwise he'll never believe me if I tell him it's multiples! I can only be 2 weeks further on that I think, because I had a hospital trip to confirm I wasn't pregnant 6 weeks before I found out. So maybe I'm just very fat! (Even though I threw my guts up every day for 2 weeks and lost weight....)

Sansa87 · 04/09/2020 19:41

Hi girls, hope you’re all okay.

I’m having a bit of a panic evening. I had surgery for a mmc on 27th July. Ovulated on cd20 if we assume 27/07 was cd1. Got my bfp 12dpo.

I know cramps are normal, but tonight I’m just getting really worried. They feel quite sharp, & I can’t remember if I got these ones before it all went wrong last time, or whether this is when I started getting suspicious something wasn’t right or not.

I know there’s a good chance this is all going to be okay, but I’ve only been pregnant once & that didn’t go well.

I’m 33 yrs old, and this is a desperately wanted bubba.

If you’ve got to the end of this whine, I applaud you. X

Allgirlmum · 04/09/2020 21:34

@Sansa87 try not to panic I’ve had some cramps to hope your okay I know how your feeling I am so on edge worrying something is going wrong virtual hugs 🤗 x

Pugprincess · 04/09/2020 23:21

Congratulations on your scans ladies ❤️❤️

@Sansa87 I get cramps and stabbing pains too. It’s just the growing and stretching I believe xx

SmileyT · 05/09/2020 07:53

I've just done a massive catch up after a busy week of working in the office/ dinners and actually throwing myself back into the gym 💪

Congrats to all those with their successful scans and getting their 12week testing back aswell, so lovely to read through all the good news. Also loving the pictures of bumps 🥰 mine looks like some of yours in the evening but is definitely not hard yet and pretty much disappears for the morning 😩

Also I'm glad it's not just me with the whacky dreams, woke DP up at 3am to tell him this long winded dream about me being in prison 🤷🏾‍♀️

Gender wise we're booking a scan for 16weeks, we'll tell our parents after that scan with a pic or something and will be nice to tell them gender. If it's a girl my mum will be over the moon and if it's a boy I will so will take the sting out of it 😂

So glad it's the weekend but also wishing it away as Monday is scan day. Probably sounds crazy but I'm actually not nervous about it, obviously I know that it could still be bad news but I've got it in my head now it's going to be good news. Hope everyone has a fab weekend, who else has their scans next week? xx

Poppy10121 · 05/09/2020 08:06

Congrats @Lu93 on another great scan ☺️

@Skyblue20 I hope you’ve managed to escape the dreams for one night! I have read that these vivid dreams are part of pregnancy symptoms although no idea why!

@RosieJess91 glad you finally got your midwife call! I’m hoping the same thing happens to me next week (hopefully they don’t call when I’m on the office though!) - why can’t they at least say what day it’ll be!? How exciting that you might be having multiples!!

@Sansa87 sorry you are having a tough time, if you look back I think all of us had a panic at some point over pains and some of us (including me) even got seen by EPU early because of it but everything was fine. There’s so many strange changes happening in your body right now but if you’re worried you could call your doctor or 111 and speak to someone?

I’ve got no plans this weekend at all! Found the week really exhausting as we’ve been back in the office so no cheeky naps and the commute has taken it out of me! I’m looking forward to a lot of sitting around ☺️ also need to do a big shop, I’ve had lots of cravings for salty and junk foods this week and just been going with it but I’m going to try and buy some healthy stuff to fill up on instead!

SkyBlue20 · 05/09/2020 08:08

Morning everyone! Last night’s crazy dream was that I was on the treadmill but it started counting down as if it were going to blow up so I had to run. Suspected bomb. Seriously, these dreams are crazy! My app today has told me that they’re quite common in the second trimester, along with ‘mild contractions’ as your body practices for giving birth but it says they shouldn’t be too painful. Just for anyone else having cramps and/or weird dreams!

@ew1990 Ahhh sounds like your DD will be the perfect big sister 💕 There’s a similar age gap between my brother and sister (who are primary school age) - he’s older - and although he played up at first when she was born and now they get on each other’s nerves at times, they’re best friends and he really looks out for her, it’s lovely to see.

@RosieJess91 Oh my rubbish memory is always, not just when pregnant 😂 I did have proper baby brain last pregnancy though - from really early on I was forgetting really simple words, my husband found it hilarious!
Wow, you’re so patient not having had an early scan. So it really could be multiples and you just don’t know! 😬 That’s so exciting! Hope your date comes through soon!

@Sansa87 Try not to worry, we’ve all had some form of cramping throughout, it’s quite normal as everything stretches, though I know it’s quite worrying, too! If the pain gets really severe or if there’s any bleeding with it, call your midwife/EPU but hopefully it’s nothing but a good thing xx

@SmileyT Sounds like you’re on fire being back in the office and at the gym! Go you! 💪🏼 My scan is next week, too (Wednesday morning). I’m like you in that deep down, I think it’s going to be ok. I won’t let myself believe it though, I seem to be keeping a wall up. Last time, I just had a terrible feeling, I remember the day before I wrote on the October thread that I was convinced I was going to have had a MMC and the morning of I was so nervous that I felt sick and was shaking. It’s like I knew. This time I feel a lot more calm, like you do. Hopefully that’s a good sign for both of us and next week will bring good news 🥰

Sansa87 · 05/09/2020 08:18

Thanks girls, it really means a lot. Still cramping, but back to what I guess is normal cramping. Was hoping to feel nauseous this morning (what is my life 😅) but nothing yet.

Think I’m definitely going to just pretend I’m not pregnant, & try to get through this one day at a time. ❤️

Allgirlmum · 05/09/2020 09:17

@Pugprincess how are you feeling ? 💜

@Sansa87 I haven’t had Morning sickness yet 🙈 I actually wish it would come on tho it’s going to be a long few weeks before a scan gets done
