Thanks @bubblybon20, that's really reassuring as it's much how I've felt. It's eased off quite a lot over the last couple of hours and has been replaced by a BANGING headache. Need to power through another hour or so of work then I'm going for a nap, hope it helps get rid of it. Think I'm just having one of those days tbh - I've had aches and pains, the weather is crap, work is boring/people are annoying and everything is a bit meh. I'd REALLY like a glass of wine. On a beach on a Caribbean island 😂

bubblybon20 · 02/09/2020 16:35

@SkyBlue20 glad you're feeling a lot better, I have a awful headache. Literally the only symptom I ever get now a days.. I brought some of that 4head stuff other threads swear by.. well it's still here after 8 hours so can't be all that fab 🤣🤣 and mmmmm that sounds like heaven 🤪

SkyBlue20 · 02/09/2020 16:48

Ohh I forgot about that 4head stuff - was debating what I could do as don't want to take paracetamol, but if it's no good, it's not worth me going out in the rain to get some 😂 Hoping a nap will help.

I don't feel like I've had a 'bad' first trimester compared to a lot of people in terms of severity of symptoms and stuff but dear God, it still gets a bit much at times, doesn't it? It's just the not feeling yourself for months that really grinds you down sometimes. I really feel for those who get it much, much worse (including a lot of the ladies on this thread) 💕

DanceM1 · 02/09/2020 18:30

@bubblybon20 my pillow is from Asda- a friend has it and recommended it... its arrived today so ill let you know how it goes tonight!

@skyBlue20 im glad youre doing well and sure it is just a natural easing of symptoms. Im exactly the same although mega exhausted after work! Guess its always a bit like that at the start of year though. Oh sorry, I've just read your later posts. Dont worry I am sure it is fine! It may just be a bit achey because of all the growing you are doing!! If its not full on cramps and no bleeding I don't think you should worry. I know we all would but please try not to.

I got my screening results back today- low risk for both so that's another relief!

@Dipsy77 im glad you have your scan through... typical about the timing though!

I've attached a picture of my bump- dont know whats happened to the picture but I promise its not a dirty mirror 🤣🤣

Allgirlmum · 02/09/2020 18:32

Well lady’s curiosity got me a digital pregnancy test after doing the normal clear blue ones

Anyway Im in shock it came back 2-3 my bleeding started for the miscarriage previously around 27th July 🙈 I guess I was expecting it to be 1-2 🙈🙈

bubblybon20 · 02/09/2020 18:36

@SkyBlue20 I lot of people have made a bit hype about it, but it's really not worked for me 🤣🤣
And yeah i know what you mean, I guess we're lucky in some sense that we don't have it as awful as some do, I've noticed though these headaches have come mainly since I've been out the first trimester 😫😫

@DanceM1 ahh cool! Defo let me know, as il be investing in one for sure!
And omg your bump looks so naturally perfect 😍😍😍😍

bubblybon20 · 02/09/2020 18:40

Also @Sakura54 I was looking for the NT and CRL.. but where do I find these?! 🤣

Poppy10121 · 02/09/2020 19:37

@SkyBlue20 sorry you’ve been suffering today, I hope you are feeling a bit better to know others have had similar experiences but it doesn’t get any easier does it?! I hope eventually we will all be able to be happy in our pregnancies without worrying about the worst all the time. 😘

@bubblybon20 what a lovely bump! 💕

I’ve had such a day of symptoms today after it all being pretty mild til now. Threw up for the first time this morning - at work - so a colleague now knows I am pregnant as I had to run off mid-sentence 🙈 Felt a bit better for an hour or so before the banging headache started and hasn’t left me since, had to leave work and get into bed and I’m still feeling awful now! Going to look up this 4head stuff and see if I can get it delivered, I’m not comfortable taking anything like paracetamol unless I absolutely have to. Hoping tomorrow is a better day!

Workingmama1 · 02/09/2020 20:41

Awww @SkyBlue20 and @Poppy10121 hope you feel better soon! 4head is OK, sometimes it can take the edge off if you don't want to reach for paracetamol. But if you are feeling awful it's OK to take paracetamol instead of suffering.

I know it must be concerning to get aches @skyblue20 but as this point its way more likely to be stretching than anything bad! I've been having a sharp.stabbing pain again today (the same one that sent me to epu at the beginning in case it was ectopic) guessing that it is stretching? I figured that now ectopic is ruled out one soded pain isn't too much of a worry as bad pain would be all over? Not sure if I'm making things up though!

@dancem1 what a lovely bump! And great news on the screening tests.

@Allgirlmum sounds like good progression on the cb digital

Sakura54 · 02/09/2020 21:39

@SkyBlue20 Yes it’d be pretty bad if he didn’t want to go. He went off to play quick time today without caring if I was there or not! It’s only 3 days a week. Must be hard on parents when the kid cries when they leave them.

I don’t think your aches are anything to worry about, just lots of stretching and ligament pains. Hope you’re ok now.

It should say it on the scan report if you got one? @bubblybon20

@DanceM1 Wow got a proper bump there. Is it getting awkward to walk yet? I might start taking belly pics soon. I did it with my first from the start even though there was not much progression week to week and usually bloat.

So I tried to exercise for once and by that I mean played a dance game on the Oculus VR! Did one song, got breathless and started retching. So much for that.

Got my screening results:

Thanks @Workingmama1 I’ve ordered some 4head for next time! I know that paracetamol is ok but really just want to try and avoid everything if poss as I get so anxious - the other day I spent about 2hrs googling if Dominos pepperoni was safe to eat after I had a craving and then panicked about cured meats! So easier for me if I avoid most things 😅

I’m really sure that now you’ve has a scan to rule out ectopic you can just consider most aches and pains to be harmless stretching? But easier said than done I know! Not long til your next scan now is it?

@Sakura54 great news on the screening results 😊

SkyBlue20 · 03/09/2020 07:42

Morning everyone!

@DanceM1 What a lovely bump! 🥰

@Allgirlmum Sounds like positive progression ☺️

@Poppy10121 I hope we can all enjoy our pregnancies soon, too. I think I’ll definitely relax a bit if the 12 week scan and screening results are ok - the first trimester just feels so delicate. Obviously then I’ll start panicking about the 20 week scan but I just think every hurdle will make it a bit better (though I’m aware it’ll never be completely free of worry!)
Oh no to throwing up at work! Hope that was a one off for you. Seems a few of us are getting terrible headaches too, although I hate that everyone else is suffering, it is reassuring to hear that it’s normal and just one of those things. I don’t think I’ve ever had one as bad as I had yesterday!

@Workingmama1 Yes, I’d say your pains are nothing to worry about - there’s a lot of stretching and pulling going on throughout the first trimester and like you say, ectopic has been ruled out. (I could really learn from my own advice, couldn’t I?! 😂)

@Sakura54 Great screening results, bet that’s a relief ☺️

I had an awful dream last night - dreamt that a friend of mine hadn’t told us she was pregnant but then we found out she’d had a still birth at 39weeks of a little boy who she named Ben, so we all went rushing round to see her and comfort her, it was horrible! Googled it this morning and dreaming that somebody else has had a still birth can mean that you are worried about them as something, like a job, has come to an end. This friend told me yesterday that she is likely getting made redundant, so it seems my dream was just me being a caring friend but it was horrible!

How’s everybody doing today? Xx

Poppy10121 · 03/09/2020 08:00

@SkyBlue20 so strange that we all had crushing heads on the same day! I’ve never experienced a headache like it either, I came home from work early and slept for 3 hours which helped but it didn’t go completely til today. I hope you’ve woken up feeling better too? That dream sounds really distressing, crazy what the mind can come up with in its down time!

Workingmama1 · 03/09/2020 08:23

Oh @SkyBlue20 that sounds like a really horrible dream to wake up to!

I'm having a bit of a flap about my scan later.... in my head there were two options, A) all is looking good (🤞) or B) baby has died. I hadnt considered option C) baby hasn't grown as it should or not great heartbeat which would suggest impending bad news. I feel like I'm mentally prepared for A or B but C would tip me over the edge. I'm aware I'm probably over thinking things! Just had another bout of diarrhoea which I think is anxiety related.

Great news on screening results @Sakura54!

SkyBlue20 · 03/09/2020 08:32

Big hugs, @Workingmama1, I’m sure everything is absolutely fine but maybe try and distract yourself a bit - can you get stuck in to some chores with the music up loud or watch some mindless tv or something? What time is your scan at? Sending positive thoughts and lots of strength xxx

@Poppy10121 Feeling better so far, thank you, but I am still languishing in bed - will see how I feel once up and about. I can feel a very slight headache lingering but hoping it doesn’t become much more than that! Glad you’re doing better xx

bubblybon20 · 03/09/2020 08:50

Good luck for your scan later @Workingmama1 trust me we all know those nerves. Like @SkyBlue20 said, try and keep as busy as you can!

@Sakura54 I didn't get a scan report only the pics 🙈 il try have a look in my folder incase I've missed something 🤦🏻‍♀️
How long from your scan did it take to get your screening results? So happy for you with your results! 😘

Allgirlmum · 03/09/2020 11:40

Sorry lady’s struggling to catch up sometimes haha

It was my first clear blue digital so I was a bit 🙈

Have a good day lady’s

Poppy10121 · 03/09/2020 11:45

@Workingmama1 good luck for later, fingers crossed all is good and your worries are for nothing! xx

Sakura54 · 03/09/2020 12:04

@bubblybon20 They told me to wait 2 weeks then call if I don’t hear from them. I called on Tuesday to chase so they resent the letter that apparently they had already sent out, then I received 2 of the same letters. Was great to see these results. Have to wait for the 20w scan now to find out if all is definitely well.

They usually make a note of your results in your notes but if not they will probably do it next time you see them. Have you only got an appointment for 16 weeks over the phone so far and then scan?

OP posts:
bubblybon20 · 03/09/2020 12:20

@Sakura54 I found a letter at the back of my notes it's says..
Too late for nuchal translucency scan
Screening for Tr21 only
That's literally all it says! Maybe I was too far for it 🤦🏻‍♀️

They told me a consultant is going to ring me on the 11th 🤷🏻‍♀️ and have a 16 week phone call on the 24th but that's actually when il be 18 weeks all confusing!

RosieJess91 · 03/09/2020 12:30

Hope your scan goes well @Workingmama1 I'm sure it will be all good. Positive thinking!

I still haven't heard a thing from the midwife team, no idea when I'm meeting the midwife or when my scan is. Starting to worry I've been forgotten. I'm 9+2 today, they told me I have to be seen before 10+4 so that only really gives them a week to see me, and I should have an appointment by now?!

Workingmama1 · 03/09/2020 12:31

Thanks ladies! Managed to keep busy with work calls all morning. Trying to force some lunch down but I feel too sick (nerves and nausea). Scan at 2:15....

@bubblybon20 are they offering you any other screening tests if you were too late for the others?

bubblybon20 · 03/09/2020 13:04

Honestly nobody told me anything!! Was really weird! If I haven't heard any results before the 24th il speak to the midwife when she phones! 🤷🏻‍♀️

Not long to go now, keep us posted @Workingmama1 xx

@RosieJess91 I would start chasing them up or giving them a nudge! It does seem a bit odd you've had nothing 🤦🏻‍♀️

SkyBlue20 · 03/09/2020 14:08

@bubblybon20 Terrible that they didn't say anything about being too late for the NT measurements and screenings, etc, you'd think they should inform you and tell you what will happen instead!

@RosieJess91 I'd definitely chase them - getting in an appointment before then seems tight, they could probably do with a nudge in case you've been lost in the system.

Good luck, @Workingmama1!

Workingmama1 · 03/09/2020 15:12

Scan went well! She measured me a day behind what the epu did but said it was nothing to worry about at this stage. Kind of gutted to loose another day though! Was hoping for 8+5 (or actually that I might have jumped further along!) and was measuring at 8+4 so near enough.

It was a bit if a palava as the machine wasn't working and she had to restart it, then my bladder was overfull so I had to go and have 'half a wee! I still have a really full bladder, thats the massive dark bit on my pic 🤣

Got to see a heartbeat and little buds developing which was lovely, still more jelly bean than baby at this stage!
