@RosieJess91 yeah same, back in March they were anxious to see me in week 8, this time they don’t seem to care! Can only assume there is a staffing issue...

@workingmama1 poor you that sounds really rough! If I was you I’d speak to the dr and see if there’s anything you can take that might help?

I’m feeling anxious again today, had some more random pains/cramping and noticed a couple of tiny brown dots on the paper earlier - literally like two pin pricks but I am constantly examining these days. I’m going away for the weekend so trying to put it out of my mind, there’s nothing I can do about it either way.

Lu93 · 27/08/2020 20:09

How did you guys feel at 7 weeks? I’m so anxious today. I’ve been so busy at work and I still have little cramps on my left side which I’ve had since I found out i was pregnant but I haven’t felt sick today, am I right in thinking it does sometimes come and go in waves, I feel really teary that I’m constantly panicking I’m not enjoying this wait at all. I really do envy people that are so positive but I’m just not sorry for being so depressing just wanted a little vent :(

Workingmama1 · 27/08/2020 21:02

@lu93 I could have written that! Also.had persistent stabbing pain on my right side since finding out (that is what triggered early scans at the epu) today it got worse but came on when I lifted my daughter so guess its ligaments/muscles. I think pregnancy after loss is a whole new ball game. I keep trying to remind myself that the odds are in our favour.

@RosieJess91 yay for a McDonald's and keeping it down! I had deep fried sweet and sour chicken for my lunch 😋

@poppy10121 if they were only tiny dots I wouldn't worry (although I know it's easier said than done!).

Poppy10121 · 27/08/2020 22:02

@Workingmama1 thank you, sometimes I find it hard to have the same rational thoughts on my own worries that I’d have when I read other people’s if that makes sense! Sorry you’re also getting the side pains but it does make me feel better as I know we are at the same stage so hopefully it’s just ligaments and growing pains 🤞 do you have a scan date yet? X

PhotoMum4 · 28/08/2020 07:54

Have just caught up again, But can’t remember everything so not going to tag individuals.
Congratulations on the successful scans, we have a private one booked for tomorrow (10+6) as I am a teacher and go back to work Monday and want to be able to tell some people as I am still being sick several times a day, also really showing (I showed early with my son but this is crazy, I look like I did at 20 weeks!).

Nervous about going back to work, especially the early starts dealing with the ‘All day sickness’. I don’t have a TA (secondary) so will have to hope someone is passing to watch class or just throw up into something in corridors 🙈 as really not wanting to be sick in front of loads of teenagers.

I feel I need to be in maternity trousers now as other clothes are REALLY uncomfortable but scared to buy/get anything in case the scan doesn’t work out.
Fingers crossed for tomorrow.

Any of you have thryoid disorders? I had Graves’ disease and then had radioactive iodine treatment years ago, so now take thryoxine. The dr called yesterday with booking blood results and she wants to increase my dose to 150mg (usually 100mg and increased to 125mg with my son), but I worry about it being fast on 150mg. The main reason levels are high is prob because I’m so sick and it’s not getting absorbed. Anyone else having issues?

@Poppy10121 try not to worry, tiny spots shouldn’t be an issue. I had dark brown bleeding for 3 days at 8 weeks (whilst away on holiday typically 😒) got a scan at EPU and all was fine and said not to worry about it! It’s really common in first trimester.

Poppy10121 · 28/08/2020 08:03

Thank you @PhotoMum4 xx good luck for your scan tomorrow! I know what you mean about the trousers, this is my first pregnancy but I am so bloated and swear a bump is starting to come, I went out for dinner yesterday wearing my “Fat day” jeans and had to undo both the button and the zip by the time I finished eating 😳 luckily was wearing a long jumper lol!

RosieJess91 · 28/08/2020 09:01

@Poppy10121 I haven't been able to get into any of my normal clothes for a few weeks now. I have one pair of jeans that I usually need a belt for as they're really loose, gotten away with wearing them for a few weeks now, but even they're too tight now. I'm only 8.4 weeks! I was able to wear anything up until about 18 weeks with my first pregnancy.
I've already got a very small bump that's very clearly not bloating. That's not right, surely?!

I have been showing since 8 weeks this time around, it’s annoying when you aren’t ready to tell people!

DanceM1 · 28/08/2020 10:09

@RosieJess91 you can definitely celebrate eating a big mac.. good for you!!

@poppy10121 I'm sure it is nothing to worry about.. i hope you manage to enjoy your weekend away and it is a good distraction for you.

I am actually having a lot of what I really hope are round ligament pains the last couple of days. I won't lie im worrying about it but I think at 13 weeks its normal to have them?? Its not full on cramps its like really sharp stabbing pains that last a couple of seconds then go. I think maybe im struggling with digestion a bit too 🙈 I think i need to encourage myself to eat something other than bread.. feeling much less sick now (not really at all unless I smell certain things) so hopefully I can improve my diet a bit!

Good luck for your scan today @PhotoMum4. Im also a teacher and just told work this week after my 12 week scan. I seem to be feeling better this week but honestly struggling to get out of bed at 8am so I don't know how I am going to cope next week. Also just generally a bit anxious while things will be so different but trying not to overthink it.

bubblybon20 · 28/08/2020 11:34

How did your scan go this morning @Pugprincess? Hope alls okay!

Good luck for your scan, @PhotoMum4 x

PhotoMum4 · 28/08/2020 12:38

Thanks you, My scan is tomorrow morning 🤞🏻.
This is my bump today, I’m 10+5 by my dates.

ew1990 · 28/08/2020 12:56

@photomum4 that's a lovely bump!

Good luck for the scans today 😊

SkyBlue20 · 28/08/2020 14:27

Afternoon all!

@Sakura54 My pains tend to be kind of just to the left and below my right hip bone but I have had them in the middle, too.

I'd forgotten about the wait for screening test results - two weeks after my scan will take me up to almost 16 weeks (assuming I get there🤞🏼) Is everyone telling people after the scan or waiting for results?

I saw the March thread people saying about feeling flutters, it does seem very early! That said, I wish I could feel SOMETHING, I just want to know all is ok in there. Today is exactly half way between scans so only 12 days to go now... this is the longest three weeks ever! Keep having to bat away ideas of another private scan...

@RosieJess91 Yes! to keeping down the Big Mac! 🥳 Bet that was the best Big Mac you've ever had?!

@Poppy10121 Hope you're doing ok. I'm sure the dots were nothing - plus brown blood, which is always better than red. Hope you can enjoy your weekend away, are you going anywhere nice? Totally with you on the fat day jeans - mine are all that fit me now and the button has to be undone by the end of the day. I don't think I look much bigger but definitely am bloating up a lot.

@Lu93 I think we've all had lots of pains and stretching right the way through, along with up and down symptoms, so please try not to worry too much (though I know how much easier it is to say than do that!)

@PhotoMum4 Good luck with your scan tomorrow! The sickness and going back to work doesn't sound fun, hope it all works out for you xx

@DanceM1 Those stabbing pains sound a bit like what I have - just really sharp, really quick pains. Mine tend to be when I'm standing up from seated or when I sneeze. Google's description of round ligament pains did very much sound like what I have so sure yours are, too.

Work has been so stressful today, have just had a load of ice cream whilst ignoring my emails for a bit and it's helped slightly. Had to go in to the office this morning and it's amazing how tired I am now after less than half a day in! How's everyone else doing? Nice plans for the bank holiday?

RosieJess91 · 28/08/2020 14:58

@skyblue20 reckon I could have eaten a whole bucket of just the sauce! Definitely one of the better ones. Felt so good afterwards and today I've been a lot better, only a few moments of "oh god, going to be sick, where's the toilet!" But haven't actually been sick. Yay!
Woke up to the fright of my life by a huge spider, bigger than a 2p!! So walking weirdly hoping there won't be a second one anywhere. Might be why I haven't been sick!

Smilingdonkey · 28/08/2020 15:46

Hi all! Sorry I'm so rubbish at tagging people - I forget who has said what as soon as I get on here to reply! I am massive and have now told pretty much everyone - it can no longer be hidden! Well done for keeping a Big Mac down @rosiejess - I only ate beige crap for 16 weeks with my DD (due to extreme vomiting) and she's more than fine so don't worry about nutrition! The baby will get what it needs from you 🙂
Good luck for those with scans coming up. Looking forward to seeing some more pictures! @photomum I am also a secondary teacher - dreading the exhaustion that is coming my way 😩 I remember with my DD just throwing up in bins in the corridor during my Y10 lessons once or twice. I found it easier once the kids knew and I had an excuse to eat sweets in the lessons! Have they said anything to you about the last trimester yet? I wonder if we will be expected to work from home after 28 weeks if COVID is still bad (as I suspect it will be?) My consultant said until 28 weeks there is no reason to be more cautious than anyone else but said nothing about after that 🤷 I think the only real risk is the risk associated with a high fever in late pregnancy ... I guess we wait and see what new shitshow awaits us as the school's go back! 🤣
I'm feeling very swollen and uncomfortable today - I need this sickness to go ASAP. 13 weeks on Sunday so I reckon another 2-3 weeks max (🤞🤞🤞🤞)
Xxx

DanceM1 · 28/08/2020 15:48

@SkyBlue20 it does sound like our pains are very similar, mine have been in the middle as well as to one side so that is what made me worry a bit but I've just spoken to a friend who said she was exactly the same and had a healthy pregnancy so hopefully it is just a healthy sign of growth! 🙏🤞 I also went into work for half a day yesterday and got in bed when I got home 🤣 going to need a serious boost of energy for next week! 🙈

DanceM1 · 28/08/2020 15:52

@smilingDonkey I was 13 weeks yesterday and we have pretty much told everyone now. I dont think I will be able to hide it for too much longer but I dont want the children at school to find out yet. One of my colleagues will be nearly 28 weeks when we go back and she is expected in as normal. We are primary though so may be different while yours are older 🤷‍♀️

SkyBlue20 · 28/08/2020 18:06

@RosieJess91 Oh god! What is it about spiders that are so creepy?! We get loads in our house and I just hoover them up 🙈 I feel terrible about it but I can’t just let them live here, we have loads as it is and I do not like them!

Ohhh @Smilingdonkey poor you still feeling ill! I was hoping that the minute we all got to 12 weeks it would disappear! Hope it doesn’t last too much longer for you.

@DanceM1 Glad your friend said that about the pains! I didn’t have anything like them last time and obviously that ended badly so I’m taking them as a good sign 🤞🏼

I’ve just realised that I’ll be 12 weeks this weekend! Doesn’t feel that exciting as I have no idea what’s going on in there and won’t do for a bit yet but it’s a landmark nonetheless. I’m being such a terrible friend at the moment, I’m trying to avoid seeing people so I don’t have the not drinking issue so I just keep ignoring texts for ages (which is so unlike me) or making plans for ages away 🙈😫 I just don’t want to tell many people but also don’t want to have to lie so I’m just being rubbish instead 😬

PhotoMum4 · 28/08/2020 18:31

@Smilingdonkey the current rule In my school is once you hit 3rd trimester it’s work from home until maternity leave starts. My colleague isn’t going back next week as she is now 3rd trimester. She has pretty much done her whole pregnancy working from home due to lockdown.

I remember throwing up in the bin In my classroom during a practical exam (Drama teacher) as I couldn’t escape the room without interrupting the performance and hoping it wouldn’t put the kids off. 🤢 wasn’t my finest moment.

I agree so much easier once they know and the kids were actually so much more sympathetic than the adults to be honest! They were offering to carry stuff and do stuff for me all the time, and my sixth form always bought sweets to the lesson to share 😂😂. Won’t be able to do that this time with covid!

Pugprincess · 28/08/2020 18:34

Hi 👋🏻 I had the scan at epu! All good and a heartbeat 💓 the only thing is they say I’m 5+6 and I put myself at 6+5 based on my ovulation (no AF date as preg straight after MC), I was prepared to be a couple of days out but not 6 days. Strangely though I’ve checked my old scan from MC preg and my sac was measuring only 4.8cm and I had that scan when I was 7+3 from the LMP. However this time it’s earlier and measuring 6.2cm. I’m wondering if that’s what the issue was last time and a sign that it had stopped growing. The epu have discharged me so I won’t get more scans with them unless there’s a problem and I’m referred back. So I’m trying to get a private scan booked for a week on Sunday when I would say I’m 8 weeks but I’m obviously now expecting to measure smaller. Just hope to see baby is still ok and progressing though, the worry never ends. Then if ok still have another at 10 weeks. I’ve printed and filled in my midwife form today so I will get that handed in to doctors next.

@Pugprincess that’s good news! Perhaps the ovulation date was a bit out because of the MMC?

@skyblue20 I’m just having a weekend in the countryside with my husband, it was planned before we knew about the pregnancy so we were thinking it’d be active but now I always want an afternoon nap so might be more pottering about and less hiking! I am the same as you about telling people, only told my best friend and our parents and I’m not comfortable anyone else knowing until after 12 week scan so just being super evasive for the next several weeks, very unlike me too!

Smilingdonkey · 28/08/2020 19:11

Please excuse all the typos and autocorrections in my posts! 🤦 I hate that you can't edit it afterwards!

Smilingdonkey · 28/08/2020 19:15

Great news about the scan @pug 👍 It's a step closer to a peaceful mind 😊 x

DanceM1 · 28/08/2020 19:26

Same here @SkyBlue20. I didnt have any pains like this last time so trying to take it as a positive. I just want a bit bump now!! Sure I will soon feel exhausted with it but i can't wait!!

Congratulations on the scan @pugprincess. Hopefully, your dates will work out.. its such a tiny measurement at that stage so I'm sure they can catch up a little quite quickly x
