Congrats on the twins @Dipsy77, what lovely news!

@workingmama1 so glad that the scan showed perfect progression, what a relief 😊 I’m not surprised you cried, I would have too! Hope you can relax a bit from here on xx

Lovely scan @dancem1, congratulations! ☺️

I’m still waiting to hear from the midwives, been almost 10 days but I think they are short staffed. My main symptom is still extreme tiredness; between early nights and naps I’m sleeping 12 hours a day at the moment!! Still got the pains a bit as well but they come and go. I look like I have a bump already but think it’s just bloating and crisps cravings 😏

If we get that far I’ll definitely be finding out the gender for naming like @sakura54, I’m also a bit of a planner and would prefer not to be surprised!

SkyBlue20 · 25/08/2020 08:24

I just happened across our old MMC thread and there was lots of chatter between me, @Workingmama1 and @Sakura54 and a bit towards the end from @Poppy10121 and it just got me how far we have all come. In the part of the thread I read we were all just going through our losses and in quite a bad way and slowly we started talking about TTC again before moving over to that thread. It was only three and a bit months ago and here we all are now, pregnant and in or heading towards our second trimesters. I know things are still difficult and the anxiety is high but I’m so proud of us all - every single one of us on this thread - as we got through some real rough times and have forged a path forward 💕 Hoping for only positive news for us for the rest of our pregnancies, we deserve it!

ew1990 · 25/08/2020 08:39

@sakura I'd be happy with either sex but I think it will be so nice for CD to have a little sister. DP wants a girl, I think coz DD is such a daddys girl

bubblybon20 · 25/08/2020 08:57

@Sakura54 I am so used to boys, I find them so relaxed.🤣 I'm one of 9, and have 3 sisters and 5 brothers and with my sisters I found they wasn't a chilled out as the boys. DH would love a little girl, and tbh I've always said i would be happy with either as long as baby is healthy. I knew with the boys that they was boys, never even had girls names chosen for them🤣 but who knows, I could imagine myself with either. I would still feel blessed 💕

RosieJess91 · 25/08/2020 09:05

We want a girl, just so we have one of each, but after everything we've been through this year, I wouldn't mind too much either way. We were joking that because the current due date is the anniversary of his mum's passing, that it must be her coming back to haunt us 🤦🏼‍♀️
And my DP went out and bought a onesie that says Daddy's Little Princess on it, so he's probably jinxed it into being a boy! Still, we have 12 weeks before I can even think about 20 week scan! Need my 12 weeks scan first!!

SkyBlue20 · 25/08/2020 09:20

I'd be happy with either sex really - last pregnancy I really wanted a girl but this pregnancy I think it's a boy (for no apparent reason) and am more than happy with that. After the MMC, it could come out an elephant and I'd still be happy 😂 Completely get those of you who have a preference, especially when you have other children to consider, too.

@bubblybon20 Wow, one of nine! That's amazing!

Has everyone seen this new study about caffeine in pregnancy? Seems like there's always something new to consider!

ew1990 · 25/08/2020 09:24

@skyblue20 what's the study? I know the nhs website has always said to limit caffeine intake to 200mg.

With DD I had cravings for full fat coke and must have drank about 5 cans a day 🙈 I've gone off tea really, never been a coffee drinker.

SkyBlue20 · 25/08/2020 09:39

Sorry yes, probably should have posted it!

www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2020/aug/24/no-safe-level-coffee-drinking-pregnant-women-study-says?CMP=Share_iOSApp_Other

I'm not a coffee drinker either, @ew1990, but do like a cup of tea in the morning. Have cut right down this pregnancy and only had maybe four cups of tea since getting my BFP and I don't really drink fizzy drinks either but chocolate is my vice! Not sure how much chocolate you have to eat to get up to the 'do not eat' levels of caffeine though, I find it all very confusing!

SkyBlue20 · 25/08/2020 09:44

This one has more info but it is the Daily Mail...

www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-8658947/Mothers-urged-avoid-caffeine-study-finds-NO-safe-level-consumption.html

bubblybon20 · 25/08/2020 09:46

@SkyBlue20 it's weird how there's so much different information about. I also don't drink coffee only tea, I've cut down from around 20 odd cups a day to 4 and then tend to have 2-3 decaf! And don't really drink fizzy pop either!

Workingmama1 · 25/08/2020 09:51

@SkyBlue20 I saw that. Read it on the BBC who then said that some experts have called it alarmist, in fact their headline was "having some caffeine in pregnancy is fine". I don't normally drink tea or coffee, but during my mmc randomly craved tea! So I got some decaf tea which I've been enjoying ever since (with a chocolate digestive or two). Normally I'm a peppermint tea girl which has been helpful for the nausea. I've had quite a few cans of coke when I've been feeling rough this time round.

If we get to it (fingers crossed!) I think we'll be finding out the sex. We did last time and as I'm a planner it was good to know! Also it's a good excuse for a scan between the 12 and 20 week nhs ones....

I am so so tired today. I've already had a nap 🙈 so glad I'm not in the office.

Poppy10121 · 25/08/2020 10:20

@SkyBlue20 you are so right, we have all come so far and never would have thought this is where we’d be 3 months on from that horrible time! 💕

I read that article about the caffeine, and felt really glad that I have switched to decaf but I don’t really fancy much coffee and tea these days anyway. My mum says back in her day they never cut out anything except booze so... I’m sure in lots of cases it doesn’t make a difference but they never seem to know enough do they!

RosieJess91 · 25/08/2020 10:22

I've only been drinking peppermint tea, haven't had a drop of tea or coffee since the beginning, but I barely drank it before that anyway.
Fizzy stuff however, different story, been addicted, settles my stomach, but that's mostly been fizzy water and the odd glass of Fanta Fruit Twist!
My DP mentioned it when he came back from the shop and I had to remind him I couldn't stand tea or coffee at the moment anyway!

SkyBlue20 · 25/08/2020 11:31

@Workingmama1 It does seem like a very sensationalist headline to just outrightly state that all caffeine is off the table. Things change so much but let's be honest, people have been having healthy babies for years. My mum didn't even know she was pregnant with me until she was four months gone and was just living life as normal and I'm ok!

I'm usually a green tea in the morning person but I read that green tea can stop absorption of folate and despite me knowing that's only when you drink LOADS of it - way more than a cup a day - I just stopped anyway. Too anxious this pregnancy after last time. You can find bad things about anything if you Google enough.

Feeling rough today, really, really nauseous. I think a lunchtime nap is on the cards, that usually helps. Sitting at my desk eating crackers - think I've eaten more crackers this year (over the two pregnancies) than I had in my whole life before that 😂

bubblybon20 · 25/08/2020 13:10

@SkyBlue20 I'm also feeling really nauseous! I woke up feeling so so drained.. and everytime I move I feel sick 🤦🏻‍♀️ ginger biscuits are helping slightly! Hope you feel better during the day!

RosieJess91 · 25/08/2020 13:43

Talk about nausea, I literally just threw up walking across a car park - how utterly embarrassing 🤦🏼‍♀️

I don't think they sensationalise a lot of things regarding pregnancy, every year the rules seem to change, I remember reading that a glass of red wine was good for the baby and then months later saying they were wrong. I don't think anyone actually knows...
They change the rules regarding how a baby should sleep and things like that as well.

SkyBlue20 · 25/08/2020 16:40

Oh dear, not a good day for us all!

@bubblybon20 Hope you're feeling a bit better?

@RosieJess91 Oh no! In a car park! Were there a lot of people around? It's times like that it's a shame you don't have a bump yet so they know what's causing it 🙈

Have spent my entire day eating (breakfast, crackers, lunch, chocolate, mango, chocolate...) and am feeling marginally better for it. Am still in my pyjamas, too (whilst working), which is heavenly on a miserable day like today! Getting really impatient for my scan, I think it's been long enough since my last one and long enough until my next one for me to be getting a bit anxious. Keep thinking about private scans but I'm not going to do it - I'm conscious of having too many scans, I've already had two and it's only two weeks until my next one so I need to just wear my big girl pants and deal with it.
Does anyone else get a pain on one side when standing up or sneezing? It's like it tugs on my right hand side, not always but quite often. Obviously I know it's not ectopic so imagine it's just one of those things but just wondered if anyone else was experiencing it?

Wishful30 · 25/08/2020 16:43

Good Afternoon ladies. How is everyone?
Great to see you all progressing well 😊

I dint know if you remember me but I'm a bit baffled and wonder if anyone may be able to relate to my current issue. I'm not sure where else to ask, so although not pregnant again yet, I found you all so caring and helpful I hope you don't mind me asking...

I was 4+5 ish I'd been having cramming and brown discharge from when af was due. (Tuesday 11th) This has happened many times, so awaited the inevitable which happened on the Saturday 15th.
Typical failed/chemical pregnancy. Heavy ish bleeding for 2 days and a light day.
This is usually the end of it all.
However, been having some brown discharge daily since. Sometimes hardly noticeable but I'm conscious so checking every time.
My clear blue monitor got me to start testing for ovulation sat 22nd. I got high readings strait away for 2 days then got a peak yesterday and today.
Today would be 2 weeks after when af was expected if I was not pregnant.
But 2 weeks from start if mc would not be until Saturday coming.

Anyone shed any light on the continuing brown? Seen as I'm apparently ovulating as normal and my hormones must have been so low so can't be causing the ovulation tests to come back positive.
No pain, no cramping, no funny smells or anything. 🤷🏻‍♀️
Should I be contacting my gp? I feel they will tell me to monitor it and do nothing.

Sorry for such a long post! Really appreciate all your help and wish everyone happy healthy pregnancies xx

ew1990 · 25/08/2020 17:35

@Wishful30 I'm hoping one of the other girls has advice for you coz I'm rubbish at knowing about ovulation and all that x

This has been my belly for the last 2 days! What is this? I'm slim and tall and this is technically 3rd pregnancy so maybe I am just showing early?

Pregnant After MMC - Thread 2
ew1990 · 25/08/2020 17:43

Omg I'm so sorry it's posted so many times 🙈

Wishful30 · 25/08/2020 17:54

@ew1990 twins?? 😂

ew1990 · 25/08/2020 18:01

@wishful30 nope just one in there at the 9 week scan 😂

Sakura54 · 25/08/2020 18:04

You just assume people want one of each but that’s not always the case. I thought about it recently and feel like they’d be closer if it were 2 boys or 2 girls.

@SkyBlue20 Yes we were only in that thread recently. Most of my posts were rants about MMC, then saying I weren’t going to TTC yet lol. I’m happy that we managed to get pregnant again so quickly. We have literally shared this crazy journey together. Really hope everyone here will get our rainbows next year!

I’m not sure if it’s one particular side, but in pregnancy I always get pains when standing or sneezing. I try to press my belly with my hand when sneezing and it seems to help?

Guidelines change so often. I’m a rule follower so I do my best, but I’m pretty sure women sleep on their backs, drink coffee etc and still have healthy babies. Not to mention no folic acid, letting babies sleep on their tummies and with blankets. What I’ve learnt is that babies are much more resilient than we think. I’m overprotective of my PFB so I hope I can be more laid back with baby number 2 (yeah right..wishful thinking).

@ew1990 Wow is that how it is when you wake up? Bloating usually disappears in the morning I think? Looks like you’re showing early which is fine. You’ve had a baby before after all!

Hi @Wishful30 I believe it’s normal to bleed for a bit afterwards. Maybe give it another week or two to see if it settles then speak to the GP? Let us know what they say ok.

bubblybon20 · 25/08/2020 18:04

I'm also usless at ovulation and tracking, wouldn't even know where to start. Sorry @Wishful30!

@ew1990 omg!! That's crazy, so cute and rounded tho! Might just stay for you now! I've realised I have hardly any bloating the past few days! So hoping il start to get one soon enough! Exciting!
