@Amyyy1 it's in the back of my mind, I'd love to get it right this time as my first came early and fast. Even though I had it all ready and packed it got left behind and I ended up giving birth in an old shirt. I'd like something decent to wear this time.

confused107 · 21/08/2020 17:40

Lovely bump @Pinktruffle I think everyone is different when it comes to bumps so I wouldn't worry. I hope you start to have more energy soon. I suppose as we get closer to the third trimester tiredness is going to be more of a symptom

Beccarans89 · 21/08/2020 17:57

Hi all! So lovely seeing everyone talking about names, some fab ones! We've got it down to 2 but will see how we feel as time goes on! I've started thinking about hospital bag but not started buying anything yet, just getting a little list together.

How's everyone with an anterior placenta getting on with movements? I'm 26+2 today and have some busy movement days and some that are so quiet! Today I've barely felt a single thing! Hopefully it's not just me - hard to know when to worry isn't it!

NaomiB79 · 21/08/2020 19:15

@Beccarans89 I'm 28 weeks today and have an anterior placenta and like you have days where she moves loads and others not very much. I very nearly went to triage this week because she really hadn't moved much for a couple of days but then she started moving loads! There seems to be no established pattern and my movements are not really getting stronger from what they were a few weeks ago. I'm going to ask my midwife about it on Wednesday when I see her but agree with you it is difficult to know when you should be worrying and when you shouldn't!

nearlyamummyof2boys · 21/08/2020 19:30

@Beccarans89 I'm 28 weeks and anterior placenta and I can go all day with no movements and then a flurry late evening - definetely no pattern yet that I've noticed!

Lovely bump @Pinktruffle i do really want to do a hospital bag but with this pregnancy we are waiting to do everything as there has been so many ups and downs! I feel like there's so much going on - giving birth in 10 weeks doesn't feel real lol!

Snowwhite2020 · 21/08/2020 20:10

@peachypetite @MummyShark97 and others- I hear ya about poor sleeps. Last night I was 1.30am and bang awake but my most usual time for a wake up is 3.30- I can stir when turning over but a “wake up” is once a night and usually for 90 mins. Torture. Not like there’s anything going through my mind- I’m not stressed- just awake!! Poor DH getting totally broken sleep as a result too.

Not sure if it’s a thing but I am quite small and have quite a big bump (think those things are often, tho not always, connected) and getting about/ turning/ settling just super hard now. Bring on the baby due dates as far as I’m concerned!!

I did have a pregnancy massage yesterday tho which DH arranged and it was bliss- highly recommend if you can get one in your area!

Lovely names by the way. I also love Nico @mummyshark :)

@ChampooPapi thanks for the nhs link- you really are a mumsnet wizard and hero. Xx

Beccarans89 · 21/08/2020 20:17

@nearlyamummyof2boys @NaomiB79 thank you so much for your responses ladies, you've made me feel much better! I've just had a few kicks after my dinner so feel a bit more reassured! It's amazing how much difference an anterior one makes but feel better knowing it's not just me that has quiet days! Fingers crossed for more of a pattern soon!

chubbyhotchoc · 21/08/2020 20:18

Eek I'm not sure mine is growing much. Bit of a worry really. I'm 25+5 here

@Beccarans89 @NaomiB79 @nearlyamummyof2boys fellow anterior placenta and yeh some days lots of movement and others quiet but I am feeling something every day now and I feel movement is definitely stronger too so that’s encouraging.

@nearlyamummyof2boys @chubbyhotchoc so frustrating that your house buying/selling is taking longer than expected!

@MummyShark97 did you complete today? Or is it tomorrow? Good luck!

We’re now feeling quite settled although we need more furniture, like a bed for the spare room (we’ve never had a spare room before! London problems!) but nothing we can’t live comfortably without.

As for names, I think we’re settled on Beatrice (Bia) although we still like Giselle and Rafaella too.

Now that we’re settled in the new house I need to start baby shopping! Eeek!

excitednerves · 21/08/2020 20:57

@Amyyy1 I think I’m going to do mine at 30 weeks. I need new pyjamas! Currently on the hunt for some nice ones, and not too revealing. I ended up in hospital for 5 days last time and regretted my spaghetti straps and shorts combo!

nearlyamummyof2boys · 21/08/2020 21:05

@excitednerves I wanna get some as well I felt like I wanted to change mine 3 times a day as was so hot and only took 2 sets!

@chubbyhotchoc you have a lovely bump! All bumps come in different shapes and sizes I wish I had a smaller one I feel huge lol!❤️

nearlyamummyof2boys · 21/08/2020 21:06

I love Beatrice @excitednerves I like Bia as well I also like Trixie 🥰

PipTed · 21/08/2020 21:48

All your name choices are lovely! Agree it’s so difficult to decide on a name between partner. We still have a hitlist that we’re going to go back to in a few weeks.

Has anyone’s face changed? I know it’s such a strange question, but I saw a picture of myself today and didn’t recognise the person in it; don’t know whether it’s my mouth or ive just swollen a bit. Is this a thing?

excitednerves · 21/08/2020 22:19

@nearlyamummyof2boys the pyjamas hunt is on! M&S has some nice ones today. T-shirt tops and long bottoms, for about £12.

Oh I love Trixie! I hadn’t even thought of that nickname. I really love Beatrix as a name but a) slightly spoiled by Bellatrix LeStrange and b) my husbands family wouldn’t be able to pronounce the X so it would just get turned into Beatrice anyway.

@PipTed my face is the same I think - or maybe thinner - it’s the only thing reassuring me that I’m not just piling on the kilos! Ha ha!

MummyShark97 · 21/08/2020 23:39

@excitednerves yes today! But moving properly tomorrow only moved a few little bits across, really looking forward to being settled in !

Everyone loves Nico I think I should just redouble my efforts to persuade DH haha!!

peachypetite · 22/08/2020 06:09

The only place I can find button down nightwear (skin to skin and breastfeeding) in dark colours is boohoo which I hate and never buy anything from. Anyone found anything good?

OP posts:
MummyShark97 · 22/08/2020 06:17

@peachypetite I've seen one nightie in next and that's it !

peachypetite · 22/08/2020 06:20

It’s ridiculous! I’ve been living at the moment in two M&S cotton nighties a couple of sizes too big and they’ve been great for expanding bump but really want button down for hosp.

PipTed · 22/08/2020 06:34

Having the same issue with nightwear. I really want a button down nightshirt and a comfy dressing gown, preferably in a dark print or something, but there’s not much choice. Hoping as the new season comes in there will be more choice. 🤞🏻

It was my birthday recently and my mum attempted to get me some nightwear, but it really is the most mumsy! It’s exactly what I remember her wearing when I was younger; Lovely thought, but just not my cup of tea.

PipTed · 22/08/2020 06:51

@excitednerves yeah, I don’t know what it is with my face. Unfortunately I don’t think it’s thinner, it just looks so different.

P.S love Trixie, too!

peachypetite · 22/08/2020 07:47

Found a couple of button down nightshirts but they are so pale. Thinking we want black or navy!

EithneBlue · 22/08/2020 08:00

I've bought XXL mens shirts from the sale rack in Sainsbury's instead of button down night shirts - £4 each and literally do the same job ;-)
