Love the progress pics @kkr168 what a clever way to see the differences!

@ChampooPapi welcome back lovely.
I know what you mean about emotional wreck. Had a funny couple of days where I felt on the brink of tears for the tiniest thing. Is it just me or are we getting to the point where shit is feeling much more real? Like work recruiting my cover etc.

@nearlyamummyof2boys bless you. It’s totally normal.
I am getting crazy thoughts but I spoke to my friend last night who told me her dramatic birth experience. It made her totally depressed. She felt like a failure had to have an emergency c section, then baby wouldn’t take to the boob so she used to tell her self she was a bad mum and a failure. It’s caused massive depression for her.
Scared me to death.

It’s important how we speak to our selfs but with the hormones sky high it’s so scary.

I have a really silly question FTM
Can anyone help.
How many nappies in each size would we need? Xx

nearlyamummyof2boys · 19/08/2020 15:15

Thanks @Kpm7

You'll just need newborn nappies for a while at first so I would just get a load of those in - I loved the Aldi Mamia new born nappies - nappies go up in size and babies all grow differently so there's no way to predict when you will go up in size ☺️

nearlyamummyof2boys · 19/08/2020 15:18

@Kpm7 we did stock up on loads of newborns and still have some left for this new baby 😂

jalu47 · 19/08/2020 15:49

@Kj1010 sounds like we might have the same due date! I'm also 23+3. Dec 13th? Mine is also very active at night but he doesn't move much during the day.

chubbyhotchoc · 19/08/2020 16:12

Mil conversation of the week, ladies-
'How long do you have left?'
'14 weeks ish'
'Aww you must be fed up being rounded and fat'
🙄🙄

chubbyhotchoc · 19/08/2020 16:13

Glad you're back @ChampooPapi xxx

nearlyamummyof2boys · 19/08/2020 16:48

Grrrr I'm angry for you @chubbyhotchoc

Amyyy1 · 19/08/2020 16:52

@ChampooPapi Welcome back!!

@chubbyhotchoc I don't know why so many people think they can be so rude to us just cos we are pregnant!!🤨

Amyyy1 · 19/08/2020 16:57

I had my 25 week appointment today, I was in and out within a few minutes and didn't feel like I had a chance to ask any questions:( I've also got to go for the blood test a few days before my 28 week appointment so they have the results ready but no clue where to go for that either! I will have to phone up tomorrow to ask and at that time will ask my questions I had....

I was surprised to hear though I should be feeling movements every day now, some days I have really strong kicks in the evening and some days I feel nothing all day. I thought it didn't matter until 28 weeks as I assumed this counted to a routine!! 😬

Jellycat2020 · 19/08/2020 17:19

@Amyyy1 I got told off by my midwife at my 25 weeks appointment for saying that if baby has a quieter period, I have a cold fizzy drink and lie on my side.... No! I must phone the maternity triage line at once! Even at 25 weeks! 😳

Kj1010 · 19/08/2020 17:49

@jalu47 yep 13th december must be a boy thing lol he has been moving today though @chubbyhotchoc how rude of her I would of said no not at all bothered by that but I am bothered by your stupid comments and if u have nothing nice to say zip it lol tbh I havent had any comments about my belly weight etc where I was a bit big b4 there only slight changes I feel I mean I've had u dont look pregnant to u look like u lost weight but that's it I do feel a bit paranoid wen ppl say dont look pregnant like oh is baby small etc but then I'm not a big girl in height build etc and just keep thinking scan 3 weeks ago was told all looked fine and baby is where he should be on a personal note can I ask if any of u smell different like I can smell myself it's not terrible fishy etc no pains bleeding either but there defo a smell I'm gonna ask midwife next week to check do tests etc but have read ur sense of smell is heightened etc

Amyyy1 · 19/08/2020 17:50

@Jellycat2020 I'm glad it weren't just me that got told off lol! She also said I must call ASAP to have the baby checked out but then that leaves the question of how long do I wait before I call in the evening like do I wait till 7pm but then she might move later or do I call at midnight 🤷🏻‍♀️

chubbyhotchoc · 19/08/2020 18:00

@Kj1010 if she was a bit younger I would but she's very elderly so I'm going to let it go. It's just annoying.
Re the smell. I thought my pee ( tmi) smelled quite strongly of ammonia last week but the midwife checked and no infection. You do get sensitive to smells in pregnancy so I wouldn't worry too much unless you've got dodgy discharge too.

Jellycat2020 · 19/08/2020 18:08

@Amyyy1 I know that if I'm really worried, then of course I would phone but every time she has a quieter afternoon??? I'm nearly 28 weeks now so am paying more attention to the movements from now on. The past few days she's felt like a bloody cage fighter so no worries at present!

Kj1010 · 19/08/2020 18:12

@chubbyhotchoc no discharge normal but will just mention to them to be safe

jalu47 · 19/08/2020 18:14

Seems lots of people have 25 week appts - I haven't got one (currently 23+3) Had a 16 week midwife check and then it's 28 weeks with the diabetes test. I'm FTM.. does it just vary between trusts?

peachypetite · 19/08/2020 18:15

@jalu47 mine was a pointless phone call, as was my 16 week. She basically rang to ask if I’d felt movement and to give me the time and date for my 28 week one. Could be worth checking with them.

chubbyhotchoc · 19/08/2020 18:24

@Amyyy1 crikey that's very cautious. My midwife didn't say anything to me beyond 'are you feeling lots of movement?'. They do sleep a lot so don't see how you can expect movement all the time. If I feel like I've been busy and not felt her for a bit I go and have a lie down and check on her but tbh it's a bit of a pain and I'm lucky I'm off work and able to do that. I think this is such a difficult time in pregnancy when you have to start monitoring movements

Kpm7 · 19/08/2020 18:25

@nearlyamummyof2boys thank you. I’ve heard the Mamia are really good so defo guna get them.
Also looking at baby skin products the Mamia purple bottle night body wash also come up as no1

@chubbyhotchoc gosh she sounds worse than my MIL. But yes age can make you feel you don’t want to snap back.
Good you can have a rant on here. Seems you have the right attitude towards ignoring her unnecessary comments. Xx

@Amyyy1 @Kj1010 I barely feel any movement still. Over the past 2 days I have felt some movement. Still question if it’s the baby. lol. I am 23+5 with plecenta at the front so I am not worried about movement. Maybe I should be but I feel it will become more regular soon.

Also girls. What do you think. I am superstitious and not sure I actually believe it. Although I convinced my self I am having a girl just because I love looking at girl clothes.

I am team surprise and a lady held a wedding ring over my stomach and said I am having a girl from the way it was moving. Apparently it was a strong movement and she has never been wrong hahah. Still not gunna buy pink incase xx😂

Babyhope98 · 19/08/2020 18:38

I think the advice is so conflicting on movements. I went to get a blood test today she said at 25 weeks I should have a pattern so I got worried as she seems quieter and not kicking as strong. I rang the midwife line she told me to go to triage. Then when I rang triage to let them know I was coming she was so rude said you won’t have a pattern at 25 weeks and really didn’t want to see me. I insisted as I was a bit worried after what the others had said went in there she checked heartbeat didn’t say anything just wrote in my notes and that was it no bye or don’t worry all is well. Such an awful experience I was so upset when I got out. So don’t fancy seeing her again 😖

Kpm7 · 19/08/2020 19:48

@Babyhope98 wow not a nice experience hope your ok.

Xx

Pinktruffle · 19/08/2020 19:58

@Babyhope98 I'm so sorry you had that experience. I think you just got an awful midwife so don't let it put you off calling if you need to go again.
My overanxiousness has had me going in twice so far at 18 weeks and 23 weeks and both times they said to me they are happy to see me and it's better safe than sorry and they want me to come back if I have anymore concerns. The chances are that you wouldn't get that awful midwife again so call if you are worried, I'm fairly sure anybody else would have treated you very differently because you did the right thing.

ChampooPapi · 19/08/2020 20:02

You are wonderful and brilliant women ♥️♀️ Sorry I've been so weak and not involved @Amyyy1, I hope your doing ok your end of things lovely because that is very very poor for your appointment. It should have been at least half an hour, especially to talk over mental health, do blood pressure, dip test and I know they usually check iron at 28 weeks, it is something you should have been asked about. Do she even listen to the baby?

@chubbyhotchoc it's only after we walk away and process things sometimes that we really go 'cheeky bitch!'. I know it's your mother in law but she was in your position too once, I'm sure she would not have appreciated family pointing out the bloody obvious 🙄. I am also feeling self conscious about the body, even though you know it's the baby and the pregnancy, I saw a very slim friend the other day and.felt ridiculous next to her !
