Argh I’ve been awake since 2am and can’t sleep. This is driving me mad.

@peachypetite I am finding it so hard to fall asleep at night and then ridiculously hard to wake up in the morning, feeling like a teenager all over again Confused

kkr168 · 17/08/2020 10:32

I had a phone call from my midwife at 9:33am asking where I was, apparently I had an appointment at 9:30, it was the 1st I'd heard of it. Luckily im only 2 mins drive away, so quickly headed over. Got to listen to baby's heartbeat again, it was so nice to finally meet my midwife face to face also.

nearlyamummyof2boys · 17/08/2020 10:54

What a lack of communication @kkr168
But a nice surprise I guess as well! I'm glad you've seen someone and her the heartbeat is so lovely ❤️❤️

I have another scan tomorrow I'm so nervous I feel like every time I think something is ok there's something new with this pregnancy.

Sorry about your lack of sleep ladies!

Has anyone used the cups you put over your over breast when your breastfeeding to catch the excess milk? Not sure if another gimmick or not?

nearlyamummyof2boys · 17/08/2020 10:56

@jalu47 that sounds frustrating - not the same thing but my surgeon after the surgery told me to cancel all my normal appointments and then it turned out I wasn't meant to so I missed two scans! There was no communication between him and my midwife.
I hope they get it figured out for you.

kkr168 · 17/08/2020 11:08

@nearlyamummyof2boys do you mean the haaka? I've read great things about them, so am planning to get one myself

nearlyamummyof2boys · 17/08/2020 11:12

@kkr168 that wasn't the exact one I saw but it looks a lot better! Thanks

danielasummer · 17/08/2020 13:34

@kkr168 @nearlyamummyof2boys cheaper version of the Hakka in Aldi if you can get your hands on it :)

Pinktruffle · 17/08/2020 15:09

Anyone else find that their feet are absolutely on fire on a night? Last night my feet were cold when I got in to bed but after 5 minutes they were on fire! It's not even that warm at the moment and I can't sleep under the covers as I get so hot.

StephRae · 17/08/2020 21:12

Hi everyone,Hope you are all well. I haven’t posted on here for quite a while, sorry I’ve been gone but I wanted to update you all. Our twins were born very early 2 days ago, I was just 25 weeks. Our baby boy Hudson was 2lbs 2 and our girl Mavis was 1lbs 13 so they’re both so tiny (although larger than average at 25 weeks). Due to being so early they’re in the nicu hooked to machines (which has been so awful to see, they look so fragile) where they will be for a while. It’s been extremely emotional for us but we hope that our gorgeous babies will be okay! ❤️

chubbyhotchoc · 17/08/2020 22:22

Omg! @StephRae how scary for you. I really hope they're ok

Babyhope98 · 17/08/2020 22:25

Oh wow @StephRae congratulations on your two little ones, I am glad they are doing well so far!! I can’t imagine what you’ve been through, bless you, I hope they keep fighting and you are able to hold them very soon ❤️😇

Babyhope98 · 17/08/2020 22:27

@Pinktruffle I feel hot all the time at the moment I have the fan on all night and just a blanket that I don’t always keep on.. I think it’s the extra blood flow x

NaomiB79 · 17/08/2020 23:21

@StephRae you must've been on such an emotional rollercoaster these past few days! It must be so hard to see your babies hooked up to all the machines but they are in the best place to support them and help them until they get stronger on their own. Sending you lots of positive thoughts just now xx

Beccarans89 · 17/08/2020 23:37

@StephRae congratulations! It must have been a shock for them to arrive so early but sounds like they are in good hands in the NICU. Gorgeous names. Take care of yourself.

Congratulations @StephRae, best wishes to your new arrivals x

StephRae · 18/08/2020 10:44

Thank you everyone, it has been a stressful few days. My emotions have been all over the place because of everything that’s going on from the shock of them coming so early and seeing them hooked up to all the machines to my partner and I having to juggle being at the hospital and looking after our daughter at home. But family have been very helpful and supportive. The hospital staff have also been amazing and we can tell they’re taking good of our little ones. We’ve also been told that the fact that things have gone well these first couple of days is a good sign and that these babies are absolute fighters! So fingers crossed they continue to get stronger 🤞🏻❤️
