I saw family yesterday and Friday saw friends and got complimented on my skin and shiny hair - could it be the mythical glow at last? @nearlyamummyof2boys I was talking to my mum and she said how well I look now compared to that awful first trimester, reminisced about how bad the nausea was, I will take fatigue and anything else over that!

I’ve been having bad pains in my hands and some pins and needles I think it’s carpal tunnel syndrome brought on by pregnancy. Do you all get days where you have a dull ache come and go on your pubic line? Movement is all fine feels a bit achy today on and off since last night I did do a lot of walking yesterday my feet were killing!

Pinktruffle · 16/08/2020 10:10

I wish I was glowing! I'm trying to convince myselfnmy hair us thick and shiny but I feel like I lost quite a lot in the shower yesterday and DH commented that its seems to be getting everywhere. Skin isn't too bad but I've been getting some spots on my chin so feeling a bit ugly!

Hanrora06 · 16/08/2020 12:57

Hi everyone! Hope you are all having a good weekend! Just been trying to catch up, so much has been happening for everyone :D @Kj1010 I'm convinced I saw a kick last night!! My husband was like you're imagining it but I'm sure I did. The baby seems to get super active when I get into bed and we sit and watch a movie or something, plus last night I had a massive bowl of ice cream which definitely set them off haha, my husband's felt them move a few times now. So exciting and lovely.

Anyone who's interested in hynobirthing or any other courses, if you haven't seen already the Positive Birth Company are doing a big bundle including the book and the antenatal course AND postnatal course for £50! I've bought it so I can't wait to start. thepositivebirthcompany.co.uk/shop/powerbundle

@Pinktruffle I've still been getting spots on my chin as well, so annoying.

Couple of bump photos. I always think it looks big from above but then from the side barely visible haha.

peachypetite · 16/08/2020 13:01

That should say silver cross wayfarer or pioneer

Great bump pics! Just to join in, here’s my 25 week bump pic. 😊 definitely feeling bumpy now. The belly button is on the verge of popping 🙈

I’m the same with pins and needles in the hands, specially in the night.

Anyone loving cake and biscuits more at the moment? I’m having to restrain myself quite a lot.

Hey! I've not posted on this thread before but recognise a few names from the Nov due date post! This thread seems a bit more active though. I'm due mid Nov with my first baby and getting so excited! Hope you don't mind if I join :)

Amyyy1 · 16/08/2020 14:25

@peachypetite I have got the Silver cross pioneer! I'm a FTM so have not used it yet other than to be a mad person strolling around my garden to test it out multiple times🤣 I am only 5ft and it's super easy to manoeuvre and push about and I love the huge basket on the bottom. I will be using the carry cot on the frame during the day (which they have said is safe for overnight sleeps) for any downstairs naps as it's super sturdy so will be ok with my dogs walking about😊 x

Amyyy1 · 16/08/2020 14:27

I think this may have been covered before but what car seats is everyone looking at getting? I am thinking of the Joie every stage car seat. Has anyone else gotten this? Or any other recommendations! X

Jellycat2020 · 16/08/2020 14:28

This is on our weekly long walk this morning - I'm 27 weeks now and definitely feeling heavier!

@nearlyamummyof2boys I did a first aid course before I started weaning DS (I was paranoid about choking) it was actually really good. I think mine was through NCT but I just booked online

nearlyamummyof2boys · 16/08/2020 14:52

Thanks @excitednerves
Welcome @Pink15 🥰

I've found it a nightmare looking for car seats @Amyyy1 with all the different recommendations and mixed reviews you seem to get! I'm going for Joie 360 for the newborn and then choosing beween the Joie Stages and Infababy for my DS1

NatalieH2220 · 16/08/2020 14:54

@Amyyy1 I have the Joie every stage for my 3.5 year old. Overall I like it but he had it from around 12 months. I found an isofix car seat much easier for newborn. The only other thing I would mention and it's a long way off for baby now but I've just realised that from 18 kg you have to forward face with seatbelt only in this car seat. My son is 3.5 and already 17 kg so too little to go forward facing with just a seatbelt imo meaning we now have to buy another car seat. Like I said not really relevant now but maybe something to bear in mind.
I am looking at a maxi cosi car seat for the baby and will then use the every stage again once they outgrow this.

Pink15 · 16/08/2020 15:04

@Amyyy1 we are considering the Joie I level as fits onto our pram and lies flat even whilst driving so think will be useful as we will probably end up doing quite a bit of driving around Christmas!

NatalieH2220 · 16/08/2020 15:04

@Pinktruffle I've bought a few things from matalan and think they're quite reasonable. On par with supermarket quality clothes I'd say.

peachypetite · 16/08/2020 15:12

@Amyyy1 cool, I’m not much taller than that. I am looking at travel systems so the car seat will be included

excitednerves · 16/08/2020 16:52

Lovely bump photos everyone! I haven’t taken any yet.

I’ve been feeling exhausted lately - I’ve had a nap both today and yesterday while DS slept. Early night for me tonight!

kkr168 · 16/08/2020 17:51

Some gorgeous bumps in this group

I've had the tingly feeling in my right hand only, every morning, it goes away within a few minutes. It isn't painful so I've not been to concerned about it yet.

We had our 4d scan today at window to the womb, it was amazing. We saw our baby yawning & waving, he kept putting his hands over his face so we didn't get many clear pics but here's a couple.

Amyyy1 · 16/08/2020 18:25

Thanks all for letting me know what car seats you have😁

@kkr168 Wow that must have been amazing to see! I really want to book one just cos it seems crazy to go so long with no scan at all now until they are born

danielasummer · 16/08/2020 18:48

@Hanrora06 love your bump pics! Thank you for the heads up for the course, been meaning to book onto that for a while now so will take advantage of the offer :) I've already bought the book so will ask them to take that off the bundle!

Hanrora06 · 16/08/2020 19:13

@danielasummer Oh yeah that would be good if they do! If not you could always sell it on, or just give it away to your next pregnant friend or whatever. Yeah it was perfect timing as I was going to do it anyway and the book was in my wishlist waiting!

Hanrora06 · 16/08/2020 19:14

oh and thank you! Flowers

Is anyone receiving extra monitoring with an obstetrician who has another condition?

I've got Crohn's and there has been general confusion about who is making decisions about timings for my delivery / potential induction - obstetrics or gastroenterology.

My last appt with the obstetrician was a disaster as after waiting for 1 hr I was told he was actually in holiday - another doctor saw me eventually and just kept asking what my gastro team had said, which is pretty much nothing yet. I'm 23 weeks now and have extra scans booked for 28,32 and 36 - I've still got time but hoping I get some clarity soon!
