@loobeelou have you paid for a private scan where you were told boy?

OP posts:
loobeelou · 11/08/2020 15:39

@peachypetite no, I live overseas and our scans are done different times here.

@peachypetite my grandparents came over earlier with the Moses basket and it looked such good quality that I'm now desperate to look at the other baby bits! Aldi in our town opened 5 days ago so luckily loads of stock and apparently it's not too busy so will don my mask tomorrow and check out the muslins and others you recommended - thank you 😊

chubbyhotchoc · 11/08/2020 15:49

@danielasummer I bought my angelcare monitor from Aldi online. Cheapest I'd seen it and it's a must have for me

peachypetite · 11/08/2020 15:54

@danielasummer ok good luck! Honestly you can’t go wrong, the stuff is nice quality and good price. They do the sleeping bags too but I couldn’t get a 2.5 tog for winter, also got muslins. Basically all the essentials. I had previously not been bothered about a Moses basket but at that price it doesn’t matter if it’s not used for long and although the top of the snuzpod comes off I won’t be carrying it up and down the stairs so felt I needed something for the living room. @loobeelou oh I see, that’s maddening! What will you do?

Pinktruffle · 11/08/2020 15:56

Is it just me or is it hotter today than yesterday? I managed ok yesterday but I can't cope today. I'm sat inside in the shade too. I'm not looking forward to trying to get some sleep tonight :(

nearlyamummyof2boys · 11/08/2020 15:57

Oh wow @loobeelou that's crazy! I mean I suppose the 20 week scan is more accurate but there must of been a reason they said boy originally! Are there gender scans available where you are to go and check? Or can you ask for a third opinion?

loobeelou · 11/08/2020 16:01

@peachypetite I don't know 😂 with DS we needed a genetics test after the 12 week appointment because of the results so we knew for sure he was a boy.
We didn't need it this time around so no definite answer. Guess we'll have to wait and see.

chubbyhotchoc · 11/08/2020 16:03

@loobeelou when did you have the previous scan? I would be inclined to believe the 20 week scan

kkr168 · 11/08/2020 16:09

@Pinktruffle I think there was more of a breeze yesterday

@chubbyhotchoc I wanted that monitor, got distracted on the day I went to order it, then forgot. Its now out of stock, it's so much cheaper then elsewhere!

@danielasummer I picked up quite a bit from aldi's baby event, muslins, cot/moses sheets, baby bath, stair gates, nappies, wipes, etc. The only thing I wanted but couldn't get was the cellular blankets.

peachypetite · 11/08/2020 16:09

I haven’t been outside since this heatwave started. I have sensitive skin at the best of times and I know in pregnancy you’re even more likely to burn. It’s not enjoyable heat! Also dreading tonight.

@kkr168 I had the older version for my dd. It was amazing. So much peace of mind. I'd just keep an eye out for deals and swoop on it next time

loobeelou · 11/08/2020 16:19

@nearlyamummyof2boys we will be seeing the first Dr again around 28/30 weeks. I'll ask again.

nearlyamummyof2boys · 11/08/2020 17:23

Just had a look at this hospital bag thread some good suggestions especially LONG changer wire, snacks and reusable water bottle.

Hanrora06 · 11/08/2020 17:39

It is getting hotter and hotter up here! I think I've done an alright job of keeping the house shut up so it's still a lot cooler in here than outside, but yeah it's still getting sticky and not particularly pleasant. Just sat in the dark which I hate! I did have a little walk in the shade earlier (we have some woods close by) which was nice but yeah being in the sun itself was unbearable even for a second!

PipTed · 11/08/2020 19:23

Another who’s struggling with the heat! It was my first day back at work (From home) in 4 months today, so the combination of being desk tied, active brain and heat wasn’t great! Thankfully the bedroom fan saved the day!

CoBell · 11/08/2020 21:17

@danielasummer, I’ve just ordered the full nursery furniture set from Aldi‘s Baby Event. Looks really nice actually and a real bargain - wardrobe, cot, changing unit and a mattress all for £391. Can’t wait til it gets here to put it up and see what it’s like! Smile

chubbyhotchoc · 11/08/2020 23:19

Ladies who are feeling movement, where do you feel them? Most of mine are in my groin area very low down. I've got a low lying placenta which I'm
Hoping will move but wondering if this is why the movement is low down.

Pinktruffle · 12/08/2020 00:30

My baby is very active @chubbyhotchoc and moves around a lot but during the day it is often in the groin area and tends to move higher up the belly as the day draws on. When I'm in bed the kicks I feel are quite high, near the belly button.

peachypetite · 12/08/2020 06:24

@chubbyhotchoc fellow low-lying placenta and my movements feel really low too.

OP posts:
Amyyy1 · 12/08/2020 08:03

My movements and kicks feel very low down almost to the point I was convinced the other day I was further along than they thought😅 I have an anterior placenta, not been told anything about low lying x

Babyhope98 · 12/08/2020 09:28

Does anyone on here suffer with PCOS? Since I’ve been pregnant I haven’t had any unwanted dark hairs I’m hoping pregnancy might have reset my body 😂

alphabetti · 12/08/2020 09:35

@chubbyhotchoc I feel lots of movement and my skin often bumps out with it! I often feel small flutters lower down but the bigger movements seem to be around belly button height. I’m 23weeks and at 20 wk scan was told placenta is high up at back.
