We have gone for the Cloud Z. It swivels and it fits on the oyster as part of a travel system. Lasts until 18 months and the base until 4

nearlyamummyof2boys · 10/08/2020 14:53

Thanks all 🥰
@lc86 can I just ask and for all using car seat travel systems - I feel a bit silly - but is it just to save taking out a big pram every time you leave the house or go in the car?

lc86 · 10/08/2020 14:56

@nearlyamummyof2boys yes just to save having to use the bigger one when I pop to the shop or pick the other 2 up from school, especially as it will be freezing and probably raining half the time lol xx

confused107 · 10/08/2020 14:59

Same with me, I have a small car so I'm hoping that I can pop to the supermarket with just the car seat so that I have space in the boot for the shopping!

nearlyamummyof2boys · 10/08/2020 15:08

Thanks that makes a lot of sense I just wasn't sure lol!

confused107 · 10/08/2020 15:14

I can honestly say I couldn't believe the amount of choice there was. So many different solutions for different lifestyles. The one I picked allows the baby to lie flat, so if she falls asleep in the car seat we can just recline it and pop it onto the travel system and enjoy our meal/shopping while she is asleep (haha wishful thinking I'm sure!)

Pinktruffle · 10/08/2020 15:23

You'll find the right one @nearlyamummyof2boys. Do you know what car you are getting as different ones have different fits etc too. I have an Audi Q3 so no problem with boot or back seat space however it is a bulky car so if I'm in a tight parking space, I won't have much room to manoeuvre hence we really wanted a 360 car seat.

If I had a smaller car, I would have gone for similar to @Confused107, one that clips on to the pram.

loobeelou · 10/08/2020 16:36

We have the Silver Cross simplicity from newborn to 1 year (ish) and its fits onto the chassis of our pram as a travel system. We then bought a maxi cosi axiss, this should last until 4 years old. I like that it turns, makes it easier for getting DS in and out of the car, especially in tight car parks. This one stays in the car though.

So I’ve been having blood tests every week because I have been having skin tingling that can be a bit itchy but comes and goes. I thought it was just in my head but the midwife did ring me today to tell me that but liver levels have risen so may have ICP bit worried, I doubt any of you have had experience with this. Trying not to panic

nearlyamummyof2boys · 10/08/2020 21:33

Sorry to hear that @Babyhope98 you're right I've no experience at all I just had to google it!
I hope they find out soon and get you the best treatment if it is! Fingers crossed it's not as well!
Sending love 💓

Beccarans89 · 10/08/2020 22:56

@Babyhope98 so sorry to hear it might be that, I'm so glad they've looked into it properly for you. I haven't got any experience myself but my best friend did in her first pregnancy. She only found out at about 31 weeks and her levels were extremely high compared to what they should be, however she took medication and had a blood test weekly and that controlled it really well and all was absolutely fine! She was induced at 39 weeks but the medication really helped! She's just had her 2nd baby and didn't get it in her 2nd pregnancy. I hope that reassures you if it does turn out to be that xx

Pinktruffle · 10/08/2020 23:38

@Babyhope98 I'm so sorry to hear that. Ita good to hear they took your seriously and did tests as that seems to be something that doesn't happen much now. Hopefully it will be easily manageable.

confused107 · 11/08/2020 06:08

@Babyhope98 sorry to read your update. No experience or advice but it's good they have picked it up and that you will be monitored and cared for appropriately going forward. Big hugs

Babyhope98 · 11/08/2020 07:28

Thanks all I suppose it is good they have found it if it is that, I am quite lucky here my hospital seems to be on top of things plus I am persistent as I’ll only sit and worry otherwise 😅 we shall see if they keep rising they said they want to check my blood pressure too, so I don’t know what they can indicate together.

@nearlyamummyof2boys since I have been taking these iron tablets i think it has done the opposite of constipation, I think I remember you saying it was the same for you?

nearlyamummyof2boys · 11/08/2020 09:04

@Babyhope98 exactly the same - to the point I really have to run to the toilet at some points!
Also very gassy and not very nice I've been reduced down to one every 2 days which is a bit better!

peachypetite · 11/08/2020 09:33

Had my 25 week “appt” phone call. Lol. Basically told me the time and date for my 28 week appointment when I’ll actually see a real life midwife.

Babyhope98 · 11/08/2020 10:32

Can’t complain as I was worried about being more constipated than I have been already 😄 @nearlyamummyof2boys

lionsmum · 11/08/2020 11:02

@confused107 we have gone for the cloud Z too, went for the cybex travel system and it was the car seat that sold it for me, everything about it just seems fantastic!

Feeling a real 20 to 30 week lull, like time is moving incredibly slowly some days. I don't think the covid situation is helping, but then again we will probably be in November before we know it😅

confused107 · 11/08/2020 11:41

I'm so very impressed with it @lionsmum Just Googled the cybex travel system and it looks great. I'd never heard of it or researched it so I have a bit of pram envy

I know what you mean about the drag. I have my 24 week midwife appointment on Thursday and we are thinking of booking a private scan at around 26 weeks (my husband hasn't seen since 10 weeks) so hopefully that should break things up a bit

nearlyamummyof2boys · 11/08/2020 14:09

That's a good idea @confused107 I've got an NHS scan on the 18th and a Fetal MRI to check little babies brain on the 26th.
But maybe might book a private one in September so OH can see the baby.

I think gonna go with the Joie 360 for the new born - as won't need a car seat that's removable.
Still deciding on older babies one lol!

Hope you are all surviving ok in the heat I have my feet in cold water at this minute 😂🤤

kkr168 · 11/08/2020 14:40

Its so bloody hot, had a lovely swim in the local pool yesterday, god I've missed swimming!!
Just went to get in the hottub that had been left off in the hope it would be nice & cool, but the sun alone has heated in to 37°, far to hot to use. So I'm now laid out on the sofa in my swimwear with a fan directed at me.

nearlyamummyof2boys · 11/08/2020 14:49

Sounds lovely @kkr168 I just took a pack of baby wipes out the freezer was like heaven!

danielasummer · 11/08/2020 15:13

Hi everyone! I too am struggling in this heat @kkr168 @nearlyamummyof2boys

I know it's been mentioned before but has anyone been to the Aldi baby event and if so what do you recommend? I'm going this evening or tomorrow and wanted to see which bits you had all bought :)

peachypetite · 11/08/2020 15:23

@danielasummer not sure how much stock they will have left now? I got an absolutely bargain Moses basket plus stand for £30, bibs, muslins, cellular blankets, tummy time pillow.

loobeelou · 11/08/2020 15:31

We have just been for our 20 week scan. All ok, dates unchanged but... the gender did?!

We are pretty sure we got a money shot at the last scan but the Dr this time said she's certain it's a girl and pointed out two white dots/lines?

Anyone experienced something similar. I'm not sure which Dr to believe 🤷🏻‍♀️

Name choices should be easier as we were struggling with boy names 😂
