Thanks @peachypetite it is a great name isn't it! It was my husband's suggestion! It's great as there's loads of options with it- you can shorten to Mat, Mattie, Tillie, Tilda or whatever. Plus it's got a nice meaning- battle-mighty, according to Nameberry haha and who doesn't want a daughter who is ready for battle?? There's also the option of spelling it as Mathilda, which I also like.

Hanrora06 · 07/08/2020 12:13

@confused107 Rosemary I think is a great name! I love Rose and Rosie as well so it gives lots of choice. But yeah Matilda pipped it. It's staying in reserve though haha. I like Rosalind as well. There's just so many. I've kept a big list of names since I was a teenager, not as I was particularly desperate for kids but just I really like names lol. They've changed significantly since then though thankfully!

confused107 · 07/08/2020 12:19

I also love Matilda. Rosalind was on my list but my husband said no! It's such a massive responsibility naming a child but good fun thinking of names

Thank you to whoever recommended the baby names app. We have had lots of fun playing baby name tinder!

nearlyamummyof2boys · 07/08/2020 12:32

@Hanrora06 mine have changed a lot since being a teenager as well!

I adore Freya and Grace - I've always loved Grace ❤️

I think boys names are definitely harder we took ages to decide DS1s and ended up giving him 2 middle names wish we had saved one for DS2 now lol!

How is everyone's houses going who was in the process? We just got our contracts!

loobeelou · 07/08/2020 13:03

@nearlyamummyof2boys we are the same as you, the two boy names we liked we used them for DS1, now we have no idea what to call DS2.

Picking for a 2nd is tough... DH and I both like Oliver but a friend of DH has a 3 year old with that name. I like Theodore but DH cousin has just named her son Theo. Daniel is in the mix but I'm not sold on it. Confused

I had a few girls names (Matilda and Charlotte were my favs) but it wasn't meant to be and we are stopping at two!

Kpm7 · 07/08/2020 16:19

Are there more boys being born on here or girls.
I am so curious as I am not finding out but everyone looks at my scan and says it looks like a boy. No idea how they know hahaha

Also we have 4 close people all having boys
October, Nov, Nov, Dec and me 😂

peachypetite · 07/08/2020 17:16

Just thought I'd jump in here and ask, can anyone recommend a brand of baby carrier/ slings? Pros and cons also?
Preferably the harness type ones as I don't think I could trust myself to do the wrap style ones very securely 😩

I have the ergobaby 360 mesh and newborn insert that we bought for DS1 and really like it. It can hold the baby in 4 different positions (on front facing you, on front facing out, on the hip and on the back), it has a foldaway hood/sun shade thing and all the straps are easy to adjust yourself.
Only downside I found is there are no pockets.

Snowwhite2020 · 07/08/2020 22:00

Hi ladies, hope everyone is doing well. Just wanted to say I have ordered some petite maternity leggings from love leggings and also finally got some bras which for from m and s, so thanks for the tips about where to shop for maternity clothes! Also experimented with ASOS and Debenhams but have found weirdly I’ve gone down a dress size from pre maternity in order for clothes to fit my shoulders/ frame but they’re fine on the bump as long as they’re “maternity”. New look also been quite good. Xx

chubbyhotchoc · 07/08/2020 22:23

@catnip99 I found the harness types uncomfortable. The close caboo was brilliant as it's soft like a wrap but easy to put on ( I was nervous about wrapping too)

Pea1984 · 07/08/2020 23:33

@catnip99 if you decide to go for the Close Caboo they are in the sale on their website at the moment. I ordered a patterned one this morning and got an extra 10% off for signing up to their mailing list. Made it £37 instead of £70.

catnip99 · 07/08/2020 23:35

Thank you all will definitely take a look at the suggestions made !! 💜

chubbyhotchoc · 08/08/2020 07:27

@Pea1984 thank you! I've just ordered mine

Babyhope98 · 08/08/2020 07:40

I’ve been up all night with the runs 😳 my partner walked in on me being sick and having diarrhoea at the same time so lovely image for him 😆 I can still feel her moving would you bother to tell the midwife?

confused107 · 08/08/2020 07:56

Oh goodness @Babyhope98 how are you feeling now? If I'm any doubt always call the midwives. That's what they are there for and at the very least they will put your mind at rest

Babyhope98 · 08/08/2020 08:20

@confused107 I still have them unfortunately hoping it will come to an end soon 🥴 I spoke with them she didn’t seem concerned just as long as I can keep fluids down and I’m feeling movement. So may skip food for today 😅

peachypetite · 08/08/2020 08:30

@Babyhope98 you poor thing.
I’ve had a terrible night too. I woke up and my nipples (seemed like it was both of them) had leaked a substantial amount all over my chest and bed sheet. I then woke up with horrible vaginal itching, tried soothing with cold water but wouldn’t work. Then spent an hour googling whether vagisil is appropriate in pregnancy and trying to remember where my old tube of it was. I don’t have any other symptoms that make me think it’s anything worse I will just have to keep an eye on it I guess? Has anyone else had this? Info I found online is that it’s common in pregnancy especially in the heat and obviously yesterday was boiling.

Babyhope98 · 08/08/2020 08:40

@peachypetite I wouldn’t worry itching normally means thrush but if you’ve had no discharge it’s probably just pregnancy related.. if it carries on for a while then maybe get a swab done at the doctors.. I did have some itching but nothing showed up on the swab it comes and goes and no discharge too but not as severe as yours sounds. I have had a bit of nipple leakage not that much though yours must be ready to go 😄

nearlyamummyof2boys · 08/08/2020 08:52

@peachypetite I've definitely had itching! Awful in this heat as well! I'm feeling for you ❤️

It's so funny how people leak at different times in pregnancy my friend did from 5 months and I didn't at all in pregnancy with DS1 but I asked the midwife in the hospital and apparently it's to do with the fathers when you start lactating!

How are you doing @ChampooPapi ? X

Hope everyone is surviving the heat I think it's terrible!
Has anyone got their goodie bag from Emma's diary yet? They seem to have a lot of deals on the moment as well I like this nursery set.

Thanks for the sling suggestions as well xx

peachypetite · 08/08/2020 08:58

@Babyhope98 @nearlyamummyof2boys glad it’s not just me I got really panicked like I must have an infection or something. What did you use to relieve it?

OP posts:
nearlyamummyof2boys · 08/08/2020 09:04

@peachypetite I normally have a nice coldish shower with some Femfresh and then just wear a dress and no knickers to give it a bit of air lol
I do think it is just a pregnancy thing I think - all the hormones etc don't help!
I mean if it does go on for a while obviously I would check it out incase if infection but I'm sure it's heat related as well - I'm a very sweaty pregnant lady 😂😂

Kj1010 · 08/08/2020 09:44

Morning all what a terrible nights sleep I had way to hot had to get cold flannels to cool me down I havent had any itching down there thankfully with my last I was constantly itchy sore etc but then again I kept suffering from thrush etc a girl I was carrying this time a boy

Pinktruffle · 08/08/2020 10:28

I'm starting to think my milk may not come in. My chest has not grown at all, like not even a millimetre. In my previous pregnancy which I miscarried, I was leaking milk at 11 weeks, this time I'm 24 and no boob action whatsoever! I only planned to breastfeed colostrum and then move to bottle or combi feeding (my Tomee Tippee Prep machine arrived yesterday) so it's not the end of the world if it doesn't come in.

Baby seems to have changed its kicking pattern, it used to be very active during the day but now seems to sleep for most of the day and kicks me all night! I hope that isn't a sign of things to come when the little one is born
