How gorgeous are these jungle muslins?! From this lovely little independent shop called Mimi Bear - they have really cute stuff!

I'm exactly 25 weeks today and had my first big kicks this morning 🥰👣👶

Kpm7 · 06/08/2020 16:12

Awww that’s nice @nearlyamummyof2boys

I can’t wait for that feeling. Think I have weeks to go yet. 22 wks and placenta is at the front.

Loving the jungle theme, they had some cute ones with elephants on in Aldi yesterday, 3 for £3

Xx

Love the

I’m 22+2 and have felt movements for the last 6/7 weeks just felt like gas at first but in the last 2 weeks real movements that bump the skin. My partner can place his hand on my stomach and feel the kick. It is my 3rd though so muscles def not tight anymore!

Had 20 week scan and a private one too as partner not been allowed come to NHS ones. After the private one we went for a look round mamas and papas and saw a great deal and put deposit down and then pay remainder 30 days before delivery. We have chosen the XT3 flip as was light, folds down easily and came with carry cot, car seat, isofix base, changing bag and footmuff. Got it all for a good price probably because they’ve just brought out a new model but I love it and think it will be perfect for us.

Having a girl and finding it difficult to think of the perfect name. Think might make a list of a few favourites and then wait until see what she looks like before deciding. Plus I have a close friend due a girl in September so want to wait to see what she chooses.

peachypetite · 06/08/2020 16:49

I’ve been having really sweet cravings lately! Started out more wanting olives, green apples, etc but recently it’s been chocolate and cake. @nearlyamummyof2boys like your style! I’m honestly so sick of looking at prams. The choice is ridiculous tbh, overwhelming. @Pinktruffle did you get the stokke car seat? I do like the look, looks compact for city streets and I also think the bag looks very practical for winter instead of an open basket like the majority of them have!

OP posts:
Pinktruffle · 06/08/2020 17:13

@peachypetite there was an option to buy it with a car seat (which also clicks straight on the pram frame without any adapters) but we wanted a 360 car seat so didnt get it. We went for the Silver Cross Motion 360 I-size.

kkr168 · 06/08/2020 18:49

@chubbyhotchoc We haven't got a name book, just been looking online, apps, etc. My husband loves Sterling, I think it is awful, so that was written off straight away.
@Kj1010 I really like Arthur, that is on my list of names.
The only name we currently agree on is Tommy.
I can see our next difficult decision being middle names, I'd go for Tommy Arthur, whereas he'd want Tommy Sterling.

nearlyamummyof2boys · 06/08/2020 18:51

@kkr168 Thomas (Tommy) is are main one, I love
Arthur too.
I really like Kit and Noah but they've been written off.
Not so sure about Sterling myself lol

nearlyamummyof2boys · 06/08/2020 18:52

Our*

My husband is set on Horacio for the middle name 😂🤔

excitednerves · 06/08/2020 19:19

So many prams! I have the flip XT3 for my first and I love it! I have a bugaboo double (second hand) for when this baby arrives but I’m keeping my XT3 so I can use it again once DS is walking more.

Loving the jungle theme @nearlyamummyof2boys!

excitednerves · 06/08/2020 19:20

We’re also deciding on name. We’re between two for a girl although a lot of lovely one on our list. DH still likes the one we had chosen if we had a girl first time, but I’ve gone off it! Ha ha!

Hanrora06 · 06/08/2020 19:35

I love thinking about names haha it's basically one of my favourite things about babies. That and the socks! We have so far been pretty trusting with people and told them our choices, and I think my family knows not to push us too far with their opinions haha. When we told his mum and dad they just went very quiet!! And were like hmmmmmm. That was pretty diplomatic for them. The only bump comment so far I've got was from his mum that I've thickened- but tbh I know she doesn't mean it badly, though I can imagine how some people might not like it! There are probably nicer words she could've used but she's not really one for compliments or fuss so I know she means it well. My husband and his dad did enjoy giving her stick for it though lol.

Names wise, the biggest response I got was the hairdresser saying she knew a few kids with those names Hmm But she's pretty blunt anyway so I didn't mind. So I think we've basically decided... or at least we're both pretty happy with them. Though I can imagine when they're born going completely off them and picking something else lol.

peachypetite · 06/08/2020 19:53

We are still struggling to think of boys’ names in the event we have a little boy. Why are names for girls so much more interesting!?

OP posts:
chubbyhotchoc · 06/08/2020 20:52

I really fancied Dougie for a boy but it's a girl. Dh wants Olivia but I'm not keen and it's the top girls name this year so there will be loads of them. I like Faye which he's vetoed because he says it sounds like half a name Hmm or Jasmine which he thinks is chavvy.

loobeelou · 06/08/2020 21:05

We're having another boy and struggling with boy names. We could only agree on one last time and that's what we called DS. Might just use the same name and add '2' onto the end 😂

peachypetite · 06/08/2020 21:06

Omg have experienced my first leaking nipple tonight!

Hey everyone! Just caught up on 3 pages - it’s been an active thread recently!

My parents really wanted to buy us a travel system so we’ve gone for the Bababing Raffi. We liked it because the carry cot can be used for occasional overnight sleeping and it’s all quite lightweight. We got it with the car seat, but have to buy the base separately, which we don’t mind as we can ensure the base will be compatible with the next size up, too! So we don’t have to buy again.

Loved the Babystyle oyster but there wasn’t much difference when we went to look/ compared online, so just went for a cheaper option (currently has £150 discount code) as didn’t want my parents spending loads.

@chubbyhotchoc from your bump pics you certainly don’t look overweight to me?! You’re looking fab! Some people need to learn when their opinion is wanted!

Re: names, we have a hitlist of three girls’ and boys’ names, respectively. OH keeps going off them so I’ve stopped bringing them up and when baby comes I’m going to suggest my favourite. Hopefully, he’ll agree after watching what I have had to go through. 🤣

I watched the BBC documentary and was a little frustrated as it showed women actually being seen to FTF at their appointments! And how come Camera crew and presenters can attend alongside but partners can’t? Seemed a bit bonkers to me.

How does everyone plan on keeping cool tomorrow? I’ve got the fan on already!

MummyShark97 · 07/08/2020 08:06

@peachypetite so weird isn't it ahaha!!

MummyShark97 · 07/08/2020 08:08

Boys names are hard!

I really like Nico and so does hubby but he's not totally loving it so still looking!

I like Grey, Cole, Gabe...

But who knows !!

confused107 · 07/08/2020 08:28

I think we are down to Rose or Elizabeth for our little girl. Might change our minds though so not telling anyone

peachypetite · 07/08/2020 09:39

Love hearing name ideas some lovely unusual ones. X

Hanrora06 · 07/08/2020 11:56

My issue with boys' names are all the ones I like have been taken by family!! I tend to just like simple, classic names for boys, but the issue there is they're so commonly used! For example I like:

Adam
Thomas
Samuel
Matthew
Jack
James

But yeah of course anyone knows at least one of those people in their actual families if not more haha so that rules them out! So we've had to get a little bit more inventive.

Our second two choices that we also like are:

Edwin
Torin

Girls though I find really easy. There's loads I like. My favourites are:

Grace
Freya
Fearne
Evelyn
Ivy
Rosemary

But currently the top two contenders are either Frederick or Matilda. I like them both, Matilda has stayed a consistent favourite since before I was even pregnant but Frederick is relatively new. My husband likes a name that you can make a lot of nicknames out of so the kid can easily choose to adapt it as they get older, which I also like.

confused107 · 07/08/2020 11:59

Love all the names on your list @Kpm7 I hadn't considered Rosemary but I love it!

peachypetite · 07/08/2020 12:03

@Hanrora06 Matilda is my fave too! Working on my husband.
