I was extra too @Kpm7 and went for the Stokke Xplory, I love it though and managed to get a good discount on it.

Kpm7 · 06/08/2020 11:43

@Kj1010 that’s a great package!! I need to shop around

@Pinktruffle I’ve always loved the stokke xplory. I always said if I have a baby this is the pram I would get for many years.
Now I have come across the mima xari I have fallen in love 😍 xxx

peachypetite · 06/08/2020 12:31

I need to start looking at pram travel systems too. I have expensive taste in general and sure the pram won’t be any different Blush
Did anyone watch the Stacey Dooley documentary on pregnancies and birth in Bradford and the effect of Covid.

@Kpm7 I've just googled it and it is very nice looking. I personally couldn't justify spending that much though, I felt I was being extravagant with the Xplory but I know it's a great pram as I used it with my niece and nephew. I love how high it goes and that you dont have to bend down to see baby.

Try and find somewhere that stocks the Mima so you can have a proper look at it and compare it to other options. That was a bit of a job with the Xplory, the closest place that had it was an hour away but they gave us a £200 discount so happy days!

Pinktruffle · 06/08/2020 12:47

@Peachypetite I didn't see the show but would be very interested in watching it, what channel was it on? I wonder if I can find it on one of the catch up services

Kpm7 · 06/08/2020 12:53

@peachypetite I would like to watch that.
Maybe we can get it on catch up?

@Pinktruffle I am trying to justify it as I am planning on having 3 maybe more kids and will just keep it for all of them. But yes defo need to check it out in the shop. Waiting for hubby to get back at the end of the month as he is working away. Then hopefully we can go and get some ideas.

Xx

peachypetite · 06/08/2020 12:54

Just on bbc I player, quite short. I must admit it was a bit annoyed when I saw Stacey in at one of the appointments when my husband hasn’t been allowed to any scans.

Wow that's a great deal @Kj1010 and that pram looks lovely @Kpm7. I also like the Stokke @Pinktruffle and think we are going to the same shop you went to on Sunday! I have my eye on a Bugaboo, but have an open mind.

Will check out that programme @peachypetite thank you

nearlyamummyof2boys · 06/08/2020 13:11

@Kpm7 it's gorgeous! I think as you say if you're planing on having more kids or even selling it on then treat yourself (if you can!) we've had hard pregnancies during lockdown and especially if you're partners working away! We deserve it 🥰

I'm getting the mountain buggy duet v3 I think it comes in a bundle with the carry cot and then a handy shopping basket for when my older son starts walking. It's only £599 all in on online4baby which I think is so good it's £700 alone in John Lewis.
I'll get a car seat separate I think will need 2 anyways one for older son as well as we've never had a car before lol!

Has anyone bought a baby name book? Dh and I actually had a full blown argument about names this morning. We had semi agreed on a name then suddenly last night he hates it and suggests two other names I don't like. Looked on his phone this morning to find he's been discussing it with stepdaughter and it's actually her that's suggested these two new names Hmm I am seriously peed off with things today. I told him well seeing as I'm so fat, according to your mother, I'm the one that's suffering so I should be choosing. Maybe slightly unreasonable but I'm
In that sort of mood

loobeelou · 06/08/2020 13:22

We bought the silver cross surf 3 and simplicity car seat a few years ago for DS and we really like it. The bassinet is flat so baby can sleep in it overnight if needed, the car seat connects onto the chassis to make it a travel system and it comes with adapters to change it from a 4 wheeler to a 3 wheeler.
In hindsight however, now that we are expecting baby #2, I might have looked for a pushchair that can convert into a double. DS is not ready to give up his seat anytime soon so I'm now shopping around for double pushchairs 🤪

nearlyamummyof2boys · 06/08/2020 13:34

You're not being unreasonable at all @chubbyhotchoc it's not really her place it's between the two of you. I think names are so tricky we are really struggling and my OH has a massive extended family who all hate each other so every name I suggest there is an annoying cousin somewhere with that name!

Maybe give him your shortlist - as you say you are doing the suffering - and let him pick from that!

peachypetite · 06/08/2020 13:40

Aww @chubbyhotchoc I’d be feeling the same. My mum will jokingly suggest names but proper discussion is only for me and my husband and we will certainly not be telling anyone the names we have picked before the birth. I’ve seen so many threads on here where people are sad they told their families names and got a bad reaction. People are never as rude when the baby is here.

@nearlyamummyof2boys great looking pram I to got mine off online4baby came very quick with everything no problems at all even though they have had bad reviews by alot of customers @chubbyhotchoc no ur not being unreasonable it is a major decision to make and should only be between u and ur hubby by all means ppl can suggest names but at end of the day it comes down to u my other half likes lenny for first name arthur for middle I dont dislike it but not 100% but I cant seem to find any names that I like either

Kpm7 · 06/08/2020 13:46

@nearlyamummyof2boys that’s lovely and stylish too for a double xx

@chubbyhotchoc we had issues with names in the beginning.
I always said if we have a boy we will probably get divorced soon as the baby is here because we struggle to agree with boys names Hahha.
I haven’t mentioned them much now because I was stressing my self out and my friends advice was that when the baby comes you may even change your mind.

Also it’s a better time to discuss because your both so happy and emotional he may just agree. 😛

It is a tough subject. I try not to share the ideas with anyone because someone always has something to say. 🤨.

It would of annoyed me seeing the msgs and I am giggling at your comment. It is sooooo something I would be saying. Our hormones do get the better of us.
It’s all overwhelming today for you as you seen the chat. Maybe just leave the name subject for a bit so you don’t stress your self out.
I know it’s hard especially if you are like me and need to be organised and prepared.

I make jokes saying I will run away to register the baby and pretend it has no dad 😂

Sounds awful doesn’t it.
Xxx

peachypetite · 06/08/2020 13:48

@Kpm7 that’s a beautiful pram! @Pinktruffle I think I’m just having a slow brain day because looked at the stokke website and it still wasn’t clear if the pram can be world facing as well as parent?

OP posts:
Kpm7 · 06/08/2020 13:50

@peachypetite yes that’s so true. Especially feeling so sensitive when people say stuff about the names. I just feel so attacked but usually I wouldn’t let things get to me.

Announcing the name after birth is defo a good idea. We will be doing that too. Especially because we don’t know what we are having and we can’t even decide a name. 😂

@chubbyhotchoc the app I use has baby names which they recommend. You can add some names you like.
I tend to go on and then start deleting ones I am not feeling any more.
Xx

jalu47 · 06/08/2020 13:51

@Kpm7 I went ahead and got the uppababy vista. We are hoping for a second quite quickly and the bassinet and chair part stack really easily. It's expensive but we were given a car seat so have saved there and think we are future proofing.

loobeelou · 06/08/2020 13:52

@chubbyhotchoc your not being unreasonable, it's already a tough decision without outsider interference. It should be between you and your OH. I feel your pain when it comes to the MIL as well!
The only first name we both agree on at the minute, one of my OH friends has a 3 year old with the same name (as do millions of other people it's pretty popular). Not sure what the etiquette is there?!

Pinktruffle · 06/08/2020 13:56

@Confused107 they have a really great selection there and you can try out both. We were lucky with getting such a big discount as they had the one we wanted in the colour we wanted in stock on the warehouse and were keen to get rid of it so we got a great discount, I'm sure it helped that we got our car seat and other bits and pieces from them too. Beat of luck!

@peachypetite it cam be both parent and world facing, and because it's so high, it can double as a high chair when you are out and about at cafes etc (if we ever get out of the house again!)

Kpm7 · 06/08/2020 13:57

@jalu47 ooo that’s really nice. I just googled it. Never heard of it before. There are so many prams ones I’ve not heard of before too so defo need to get to the shops and check them out personally I think. Xx

chubbyhotchoc · 06/08/2020 13:58

@jalu47 I've got the uppababy too. Had it with my dd and it was amazing.

nearlyamummyof2boys · 06/08/2020 14:01

I totally know what you mean @loobeelou we love Charlie/Charles but my best girl friend is called Charlie so would be weird! Feel like every name has some kind of connection to someone!

chubbyhotchoc · 06/08/2020 14:01

@Kpm7 I'm glad someone else would say it. I've got myself in a massive mood today really 😂
