Morning ladies, mind if I join your chat. I will be 20 weeks on Saturday with baby number 2. We have the next scan on Tuesday.
Hope everyone is doing ok 😊

PipTed · 04/08/2020 08:18

So glad your tests came back with the news you were hoping for @chubbyhotchoc - what a relief!

Your bump is looking awesome, as are everyone else’s! 😊 things are certainly growing!

My bump, not showing it in the best light as I actually look quite compact on the pic. It’s much bigger in real life! I’m 23+5 today. 😊

Here is my bump today at 22+5 😱

Possibly 50% bump/ 50% snacks!

peachypetite · 04/08/2020 08:53

Is anyone going to try and do a baby moon (for want of a better word) to have some quality time with husband before baby comes? We had some trips cancelled earlier this year because of corona and would love to do a couple of days away in the UK somewhere chilled. It’s just so hard to plan anything, not knowing what the situation could be in Sept/Oct!

Morning all great bumps pics I'm hoping when I go shopping aldi still has there baby bits last week I picked up tommy tippee bottles for 7.99 for 4 normally 20 in other shops also they had moses basket sheets so might pick a couple up to

confused107 · 04/08/2020 09:13

@peachypetite we had planned on going to Italy for our baby moon, but not to be! Instead we have hired a river cruiser on the Norfolk Broads for the first week in September. We have heard it's super relaxing so very much looking forward to it. If it gets cancelled for whatever reason we can go next year instead and we figured worse case scenario we could do it with a baby. We are also camping in the new Forrest with friends next weekend (not ideal but planned a long time pre pregnancy so going to give it a go!) and have been invited to a friends holiday home in Devon for bank holiday weekend. So basically we could have a few trips or nothing. Who knows! x

chubbyhotchoc · 04/08/2020 09:35

Thanks everyone. I am really relieved. Makes you appreciate everything more. So happy to be pregnant. Feel very lucky!
@ChampooPapi 'hot bod' made me laugh. Must be the slutty animal print 😂

jojanna · 04/08/2020 10:15

@peachypetite we're talking about trying to get away for a weekend somewhere in the UK - maybe the New Forest or somewhere - somewhere out of these 4 walls, away from work, to spend some time together, maybe do some gentle walks and be outside for a bit... the repetitiveness of these days in the house is getting to me a bit!

is anyone else finding that bump/body is just getting that bit more uncomfortable? Bump often feels kinda... heavy, back kinda sore, moving around in bed is all a bit awkward, not sleeping so well... I'm at about 25 weeks now. So far I think I've had it pretty easy compared to some (e.g. no sickness), but now I'm getting uncomfortable and grouchy! Hoping it won't just be this for the next few months...

I have my 25 week call with the midwife later this week. Still no in person appts til 28 weeks. Still not feeling very "looked after"... I just worry that I'd miss any symptoms of anything being wrong (e.g. pre-eclampsia etc). I'm categorised as low risk - but I'm assuming that's largely based on the risk factors covered in the booking in questionnaire - if anything changed, they wouldn't know unless I noticed and told them!

hugs everybody. Hope you's all doing ok!

PipTed · 04/08/2020 10:42

I was really eager to go for a baby moon too @peachypetite but I’ve gone off the idea now. We’re in local lockdown at the moment and I just can’t bear the thought of getting my hopes up for us to have to rearrange or cancel.

I am going on a hen do at the end of September, so we’ll see how that goes. Thankfully there are three other pregnant ladies going, too, so we can miss out on the drinking games together, at least. 🙈🤣

Jellycat2020 · 04/08/2020 10:44

@jojanna I know what you mean. I'm 25 + 3 and just had my midwife check today. First one face to face since 8 weeks with only one phone call appointment in between. It also felt very rushed today but did get to hear baby's heartbeat ♥. I think from now on, the appointments get closer together so hopefully we'll feel less abandoned!

PipTed · 04/08/2020 10:46

@jojanna yep, feeling very cumbersome now. And found myself making lots of effort noises when getting up/in out of bed. But apart from that I’m feeling fine in myself, and hoping that continues.

I echo your concerns with maternity care. Especially since I’ve found out recently that my friend has had a number of face to face appointments (she’s a few months earlier on than I am) and she lives ten minutes away from me, and I’ve not met my midwife once.
Been told 25 weeks appointment will be in person but I’m not holding my breath! It’s just so inconsistent.

peachypetite · 04/08/2020 10:46

I have a feeling if we do do something it’s going to be quite last minute, taking into account local situations at the time. It’s our wedding anniversary in September so maybe something for that. I think booking.com has good cancellation policies etc. In terms of appts I’m envious of those having f2f 25 week appts! Mine is on the phone next week. Will finally see a midwife again at 28!!

confused107 · 04/08/2020 11:00

Gosh I have been lucky I think with the face to face meetings. Had one at 16 weeks and have another next week at 24 weeks. It's strange how inconsistent it is across the country

danielasummer · 04/08/2020 11:16

@chubbyhotchoc so glad to hear you appointment went well - what a relief! Beautiful bump pic too! You definitely look super glamorous, putting me to shame in my stretchy dungarees haha!

@ChampooPapi you just look AMAZING woman!! Seriously glowing, your bump is beaut and your two little ones are in there, such a miracle and just amazes me every time I think about it! @PipTed @Hanrora06 @Bluebell2020 you all look amazing, same as what I said to Champoo, can you believe there are BABIES in there, actual kicking, squirming, amazing babies..honestly I can't get my head around it!

As for me, I'll try and get a bump pic in the next few days. At the moment I'm doing weekly sports bra and big pants bump shots which believe me no one wants to see haha!

@confused107 I've also been super lucky with ftf, I had one at 16 weeks and have my 24 week booked in too. It really is shocking that it's so inconsistent across the UK.

@peachypetite @jojanna we've just booked to go to Norfolk for 3 days at the end of August. I'm super paranoid about covid but figured in an Airbnb, away from others, alongside taking lots of dettol wipes and bleach for the house, AND making sure we are eating outside when we go out for food, it should be fine.. right?! Or am I mad? I've no idea these days, I've lost the corona plot I think!

nearlyamummyof2boys · 04/08/2020 11:41

Lovely pictures everyone! ❤️💙💓
This is me probably at my biggest after a jacket potato lol - I'm 24+5.
I think I'm massive but I was carrying baby weight from before and I'm not sure if because I was having two babies originally I'm a bit larger?
My friend is due 4 days before me and she has a really large bump - which is lovely - I guess every pregnancy is just different I was small until 8 months with my first!

I have an anterior pregnancy and would just say I'm still only feeling movements inside I don't feel like I have any major kicks yet.

I'm so glad it all went ok @chubbyhotchoc

I would love a baby moon but with moving house and a 11 month year old not sure it will happen!

I also found a cool website that tells you how far along you are percent wise! - in the second picture below - makes it all very real 15 weeks feels like nothing!

nearlyamummyof2boys · 04/08/2020 11:46

I've been trying to move my fetal MRI forward to before we move and trying to get a phone back from a midwife or doctor is near impossible so I sympathise with lack of care concerns as well!
I have my Glucose Tolerance test on Sunday so that's the next thing to countdown till!

catnip99 · 04/08/2020 12:09

I've not yet seen a midwife in person, I've got my 20 week scan on Tuesday and I'm supposed to have a physical midwife appointment on the 15th but so far I've not heard anything about it, I don't have a midwife either because the one I was supposed to be assigned to retired, I've only had my 12 week scan physically and the other 2 appointments were over the phone, not the greatest first pregnancy experience ever! Just hoping I don't get forgotten about Sad

Babyhope98 · 04/08/2020 12:13

Everyone keeps saying how big my bump is now it’s come from nowhere, this is my first and this was the other day at 23 weeks think I need to cut back on my obsession with chips 😄

👣 Due Nov/Dec 👣 the second trimester continues
nearlyamummyof2boys · 04/08/2020 12:17

I think it's a lovely bump @Babyhope98

Sorry to hear about your hard time of @catnip99 I think it's been really hard being pregnant in a lock down hasn't it - I hope you get your appointment on the 15th - maybe give them a call to confirm and remind them you're there it can't hurt x

catnip99 · 04/08/2020 12:21

@nearlyamummyof2boys I've tried to call the community midwives hub but can never seem to get through to them, at my last phonecall appointment the midwife told me I'll be having a physical appointment on the 15th but she doesn't know where or what time as they were still sorting out a venue and would let me know closer to the time, the same midwife also told me she would text me her details afterwards so I could contact her if I need anything and she never did so must have forgotten, I'm gonna try phoning the community midwives again today and see if I can finally get through, if not I don't really know Confused

confused107 · 04/08/2020 12:29

Lovely bumps ladies! @catnip99 I hope you get sorted

Thanks for the app link @nearlyamummyof2boys will check that out

Just realised I forgot to attach the picture to my post. This is me this morning at 22+5

Thank you @nearlyamummyof2boys 🤗

nearlyamummyof2boys · 04/08/2020 13:02

Lovely @confused107 🥰

I know it's so frustrating isn't it @catnip99 the lack of communication/knowing who to communicate with! My fingers and toes are crossed for you 🤞🏻

Amyyy1 · 04/08/2020 15:07

Thank you all for your replies regarding movements with an anterior placenta. I was feeling quite a bit of kicking and all yesterday and today there's been nothing but that sounds pretty normal!

All your bump pics look gorgeous😍 My next midwife appointment is 2 weeks away for 25 weeks and I THINK it's f2f but nothing has been confirmed yet
