Hey ladies 👋 welcome to any new comers.
Thought I'd update you all. Been back home from hospital over the weekend but felt myself going downhill quickly come mon was back to see my gp and in contact with a midwife yesterday they've changed my medication again now Im taking ondansetron which I started this morning. Felt not to bad today enough I was able to make it to work at lunchtime for a couples hours but left me absolutely exhausted that I've taken a relaxing bath since coming home and headed for my afternoon nap. Hope everyone has had a better start to the week. I've only got 1 week left til my next scan so trying to focus on the positives instead of the negatives. Must say I cannot at all hide I'm not pregnant now I have stuff a big bump already lucky I live in a country where I don't know hardly anyone that I need to see.

@Tiff94 So glad you're feeling better. Make sure you take it easy!
I've got my first midwife appointment today and will be getting booked in for my 12-week scan. So exciting!
Slightly nervous about going though, as my NHS trust are still requiring appointments to be attended alone. What are everyone else's trusts doing?

Welliedays · 17/09/2020 15:55

Has/did anyone else's symptoms seem to vanish pretty much overnight at 8 weeks? I feel so much better and I've got to say, it is concerning me! I hate being sick, but I am wishing it on myself right now!!

Tiff94 · 17/09/2020 15:56

@Welliedays when did you start getting sick ?

OP posts:
doritodiva · 17/09/2020 17:00

@3roser mine are on my own too. I know some have started allowing for partners to go to scans. We've booked a private one for Saturday instead as hubby can't come.

Welliedays · 17/09/2020 17:12

@tiff94 I've been feeling nausea/and being sick since about 5 weeks (approx). Tiredness and the requirement for a nap seems to have gone as well

Tiff94 · 17/09/2020 18:29

@Welliedays how many days you feel okay I found some days it eased off then came back so maybe do t think to much too it your placenta may have taken over the hormones too

Welliedays · 17/09/2020 19:06

@tiff94 I'd literally felt awful every day, until Tuesday night when suddenly I've been feeling fine since 🤷🏼‍♀️

Tiff94 · 17/09/2020 19:32

@Welliedays see how you go over the weekend. You could have just reached the fine stage sooner then expected. But then could go back downhill after a couple days. When is you scan ?

megmcc93 · 17/09/2020 19:46

@Welliedays try not to worry about it, symptoms can come and go. My sickness lifted last week, I was still taking cyclizine but was feeling much better. But today it's come back again. I think it's normal for symptoms to come and go. Glad you are feeling better though.

LeopardLover · 17/09/2020 20:19

@Tiff94 Glad you're back at home! Hope you're feeling better and not long until the scan now. ❤️

@3roser Hope your appointment went well. 😊 I don't know about my trust yet! Sucks you have to be alone 😔

@Welliedays My nausea disappeared around 6 weeks, but I still had some other symptoms. Over the past few days I've started getting nausea at night. As @megmcc93 said, apparently it's quite common for them to come and go!

Welliedays · 17/09/2020 20:25

Thanks @leopardlover @megmcc93 I know I should be enjoying it but I guess when it was so persistent for so long it seems odd now 😂
I think I will do that @tiff94, I've got my booking appointment on Tuesday so I'll probably mention it then. Not sure when my scan is yet (I'm probably way behind most of you as my EDD is 29th April!

LeopardLover · 17/09/2020 20:31

@Welliedays I understand. I was so nervous until I hate a private scan 🙈 I have my booking appointment next Tuesday, too!

3roser · 17/09/2020 21:20

@LeopardLover My appointment went really well thank you! Got my 12 week scan booked in for 13th October!
I've felt shocking all day, it's been my worst day of sickness so far (probably not helped by the 1.5hr appointment with a face mask on in the heating!). I think I jinxed myself last week saying how my sickness had gone and I'd managed 3 meals haha. Keep focusing on the positives and thinking at least my hormones are working!
Has anyone else started showing yet? I'm not sure if it's bloating as I've had a bit of cramping, but I feel like I am.

anth85 · 17/09/2020 22:20

I don’t you how you ladies do it. My wife has been vomiting for weeks now. She is 10 weeks in and the last 2 have been the worst. The midwife has promised her by week 12 it’ll totally be gone but that still feels like a long way away. I feel awful for her but at the same time we’d both rather she was going through it than never got to this stage at all.

Tiff94 · 22/09/2020 09:13

How's everyone doing this week so far ?

Me had a bad day yesterday after 5 good days in a row so let's see how today shall be...

Welliedays · 23/09/2020 11:19

@tiff94 I don't know what to think at the moment. I've not really felt sick for a week now and I don't feel that tired now either. I guess I'm just concerned something has gone wrong and it seems along time until my scan. I'm 9 weeks tomorrow or Friday, so it just seems odd. Up until last week I'd been really nauseous every day. I've had my booking appointment and the midwife didn't seem concerned, but that isn't helping me!!

Hope you enjoy your good day though!!

Ceri2402 · 23/09/2020 16:05

Hi everyone, so I had my first positive pregnancy test 15th August, calculated due date 18th April 2021, I had really bad cramps for a few weeks but worked out this was more indigestion/constipation which was a relief, I've had no morning sickness or even nausea, I've spoken to a midwife who has said I'm not likely to have my frist scan until between 12-14 weeks as there are delays because of Covid 19 has anyone else found this to be the case, I'm just anxious as currently only myself and my partner know and this is our first pregnancy so just trying to check things are normal.

Welliedays · 23/09/2020 16:22

A first scan at 12-14 weeks is totally normal @ceri2402. Alot of people seem to be booking private scans at the moment in case partners aren't allowed at the NHS scans, but earlier scans are not routinely offered on the NHS unless there is a cause for concern. It seems like a lifetime to wait, but you'll be getting closer now

Tiff94 · 23/09/2020 16:48

@Ceri2402 welcome and congratulations this is our first baby too it's such an exciting but caution stage. Your lucky not to have many symptoms but plenty of the other girls have been the same only a few symptoms then ease up. Some unlucky ones like myself and a few others had had very bad cases of morning sickness hypermesis gravidarum which hasn't been the most enjoyable stage in pregnancy. Totally normal to have scan between 12-14 weeks I have mine tomorrow at 12 + 4 but the nhs is very busy at the moment all over so they will see you just when the get app available but will see you before 14weeks as that's when the testing cuts off I'm pretty sure.

@Welliedays I'm sure everything will be okay maybe your placenta has taken over your sickness feelings. Unless you get some sort of bad sign I don't think loss of symptoms is too much of a concern especially if the midwife didn't sound concerned you can just imagine how many pregnancy they see and what they here from each individual.

@Tiff94 @Welliedays thank you for your comments I think my main issue is reading stuff online and seeing that most websites state your first scan should be between 10 and 12 weeks, I've got two sisters who have both had children one had HG and the other bad sickness and nausea and so I feel like it's a symptom I should have (I am thankful I haven't) i will definitely look at the Facebook page I've been concerned about joining any groups up until now as I didn't want to risk people finding out but if it's private thats great, I'm due to hear from the midwife again end of this week to get my scan booked in so fingers crossed it won't be too much longer xx

Welliedays · 23/09/2020 17:40

Ahh I know @ceri2402, I'm going to be 13 weeks I think when I get my scan, but at least by then the risk of miscarriage is right down so that's good at least...can tell people straight away!!

Definitely don't compare yourself to others when it comes to symptoms, I know people who have had two or three pregnancies abs every time they've had completely different symptoms.. Or lack of symptoms, so just because your sisters have had sickness doesn't mean you should too! I know what you mean though, symptoms give you confidence something is definitely happening!!

megmcc93 · 23/09/2020 19:55

@Tiff94 hopefully you'll have more good days than bad now 🙂

@Ceri2402 welcome and congratulations. I'm pregnant with my first too. It's such a nerve wracking time. My 12 week scan is on the 5th October but I did have a scan at 8 weeks (private) and everything looked fine. I'm still worried that there will be something wrong at the 12 week scan.

@Welliedays I'm 10+2 now and last week I noticed a change in my nausea - definitely reduced with one or two bad days and it's been the same this week. I think it can start dropping off at this time. I know it's hard but try not to worry. I'm sure all is ok 😀

Ceri2402 · 23/09/2020 20:11

@megmcc93 I feel like I should have joined this group sooner, I've been keeping all my worries bottled up, i think part of me wonders if its real as I've hardly had any symptoms and I just need to see it for myself. Fingers crossed my midwife can put all my worries to bed when I speak to her.
