@BntTowers @AutumnBabyWinterMummy that's so frustrating, if baby kicks you have to be quick as you never know when they might move. Esp a video makes it so easy to see! I guess it's harder for them as it's a bump, once baby is here it will all be different.

@BecLJ He's come through and sort of apologised, so I guess we're talking again. I was trying to bend over to get the washing out and he rushed through to help and hang it out. I think I'll just order myself something nice on his card or make up a weird craving and send him out in the heat for badness ;)

I've not looked at baby carriers much but I think a lot of people like the ergocarrier one iirc.

otterbaby · 12/08/2020 12:08

@Quiffy send him out for red apple flavoured sweets or something that'll be impossible to find Grin

Just had the health visitor round! Apparently I was meant to get a text, which I definitely did not! Dressed in shorts that are currently 2 sizes too small and a tank top with no bra 🙄😂 has anyone else had theirs yet? She asked loads of questions about my pregnancy, mental health, support from family, etc...then asked to see our room where the baby would be sleeping. Bit pointless really but oh well. I didn't even realise they'd be doing in person visits at the minute.

Indigogirl88 · 12/08/2020 12:44

@otterbaby got mine on Monday...must set up the crib 😂

otterbaby · 12/08/2020 13:06

@Indigogirl88 she didn't even care that the cot wasn't set up! I think she just wanted to see that there was enough space for a cot/moses basket. So I wouldn't worry if yours isn't set up Smile

MrsD1990 · 12/08/2020 13:18

@otterbaby @BntTowers ok hopefully we get onto the post natal help soon!! Thinking about it, we mainly signed up to NCT to meet other new mums and dads so I'll try to be a bit more positive about it. I just didn't expect so much overlap with the positive birth company - they even used the UFO acronym!!!

@Quiffy oh my god I can't believe the tantrum from your husband!! (Although admittedly I also laughed when I read DH was dickhead husband not darling husband anymore 😂) hope he makes things up to you today!!

MummyBearBoo · 12/08/2020 13:32

@babymama09 -that is such good news!!

@BettyBotter1 -happy anniversary!

Xx

Treaclepie19 · 12/08/2020 14:40

Great news @babymama09!

Saw my consultant today who was really lovely and sympathetic. She's booked me in for a 38 week appointment to book an induction if I want one because of my spd and the anxiety around pregnancy after loss.
I realised though, this means if I'm consultant led even without the induction I'll not be allowed on MLU will I :(
Think I'm going to ring to discuss it because currently I'd rather let things happen naturally and be on MLU in the pool.

Also went for a pub lunch and sat inside so I panicked the whole time 🙈 At least dh and ds enjoyed it.
I'm waaaaay too hot today!

@otterbaby ours was by phone! At least its out the way now :)

@MrsD1990 we are the same, post natal and netting other local parents. A couple of weeks ago we set up mums only and dads only WhatsApp groups, the mum's one is quite active, apparently the dad's don't really talk much. I think we will do some sort of meet up at some point. Maybe when all the babies arrive.

@otterbaby I have one a week on Monday, she is coming to the house so it's good to know what she will talk about/need to see.

I've just been sat in front of two fans with a ice pack down my sports bra and one on the back of my neck and it's the first bit of vague relief I've felt in days.

@quiffy at least he's kinda apologised. Definitely send him on a bit of a hunt for an weird pregnancy craving.

LexiM · 12/08/2020 15:19

Sorry to be hear about all the unsympathetic or laid back partners! My husband sees a fair few kicks first thing in the morning but hes wriggly at night more and hes never come to bed yet.

My DH is in the middle of being sympathetic and not I would say but I often find myself saying "I am 7 months pregnant you know" when he says something is hard for him in the heat or that I'm slow etc.

Ah @Quiffy sorry lukewarm water is my hate. I always say to my husband cold cold water please! A few weeks ago I was a right brat and made him get colder water Haha. I appreciate the hot in the kitchen cooking thing too, right now I've given up doing anything fancy and only do things either cold or that I can shove in the oven and walk away! I cant be standing near that thing, it's way too hot.

@babymama09 I am thrilled to hear things are going well for you and baby. Fingers crossed they continue to improve to give her the best chance.

Just had midwife appointment, all is well although baby is still breech. I could tell from where the movement has been and a big lump aka his head sticking out! He's got 4 weeks to turn until they will scan/discuss options but the rates of turning are good. I also clearly need to spend more time on the ball!! Other than that hes plotting fine, just under 90th centile and I measure for my weeks.

@otterbaby I got a letter through from the health visitor and have arranged a phone call for next week. Glad shes not coming round as I would stress tidying!

@Treaclepie19 glad the consultant was lovely. To be honest at least they are giving you options, if you dont want to be induced then you can turn it down and go for the natural birth. I would think it's better to get the choice given to you than feel down about it as they are probably only trying to help.

Treaclepie19 · 12/08/2020 15:30

Oh definitely @LexiM. I am really pleased that she's offered it because she really does seem to care about how I'm getting on and my spd might get to the point that I need it anyway. I can't fault her care.
Glad all was well at your appointment!

I think my little one is often in the wrong position because something is often sticking out at a funny angle. I think she bobs around quite a lot!

We're all getting so close now 🙈

Treaclepie19 · 12/08/2020 15:33

Forgot to say as well, they measured bump and its 4cm over where it should be. She didn't say anything about it though just that it must be a big baby🙈

Spark27 · 12/08/2020 15:45

That's great news @babymama09. I have everything crossed for you and the family xx

OMG it's so hot today. I'm actually melting. Took DD to a sealife centre, but wearing the masks inside was torture. Went to a pub for lunch, which was nice but just so hot. Now collapsed in the garden. Fortunately theres a sprinkler here, so DD and I keep walking through it to cool down. I can tell that even DH is struggling in the heat, and hes used to 6month deployments to the desert.

The dickhead husband thing did make me laugh. I think anyone who hasn't been pregnant cant understand how much effort it is to carry a baby around. Although I dont remember it being so difficult when I was pregnant 3yrs ago. Maybe it wasnt as hot, or maybe my brain has blanked it out, like it does with childbirth 😅

Quiffy · 12/08/2020 16:24

@otterbaby omg I think I would have had a meltdown if they just showed up! Were they there long?

@MrsD1990 hehe he has since been forgiven, not quite back to darling though. He's promised to buy me a massive ice slushy tonight woop.

@Treaclepie19 glad your consultant was nice! Think you'd be in the hospital in that case but gives you something to think about.

@LexiM lukewarm water is just rubbish in this heat - we deserve cold water! Definitely learned my lesson on the cooking though. At least it's just leftovers tonight. Fingers crossed on baby moving!

@Spark27 being in the sealife centre sounds sooooo hot with masks. Especially when they're warm at the best of times.

A family member had her baby this morning just after midnight! She is only 6 weeks ahead of me so feeling very real now! Had him at 1am and home already, which sounds ideal.

otterbaby · 12/08/2020 16:48

@Quiffy about 30 mins 😱 hadn't even brushed my hair or teeth yet.

Aww lovely news about the baby. Sounds like she got to go home really quickly which is lucky in this heat!

Feeling so stupid, kneed my cup of tea off the coffee table and spilt the entire thing all over my stack of books and the floor. Then as I was crouched down trying to wipe up the floor, I fell backwards onto my bum really hard and somehow kneed my bump 😩 I've felt baby moving since but I feel so guilty, I hope she's okay!

MrsK89 · 12/08/2020 17:46

Ahh @otterbaby, hope you didn't hurt your bum! I'm sure baby will be fine, they are pretty cushioned in there. I keep walking and banging into things like doors and chairs, forgetting I have a large bump Grin

Treaclepie19 · 12/08/2020 18:36

Oh no @otterbaby 😔 Baby will be fine though. I've phoned about bumps because my 4yo forgets and knees me in it now and then. They said unless you have bleeding, lack of movement or constant pain don't worry.

I spoke to my consultant and she said I can definitely have a MLU birth if I want to. Just that the induction is there if I want it :)

This will make you laugh, our shower has narrow doors. Everytime i go in or out the shower now, I bump my bump on the doors 🙈🙈🙈
Im too big for my shower!

Hope your ok @otterbaby - sounds like one of those days for you! I had heard after birth the midwife just arrives whenever too, I dont really like the thought of that!
I bump into things all the time too. Was finally bruise free for about two days then the other night I watched into the end of our bed and bruised my leg again. I cant seem to get my balance right. I'm so glad baby has a water cushion 😂

@Treaclepie19 that all sounds good!

@Quiffy ah ice slushy, I would love one of them right now. Ah how exciting. My friend is due 5 weeks before me, so once her baby is here I will feel like I'm waiting my turn too. Still cant get over how quickly its coming round. I wrote a to do list yesterday and seem to have gone from mrs organised to not! I need some cooler weather to get through the list.

Spark27 · 12/08/2020 19:03

@LexiM, from what I can remember the mw turns up the day after you have baby/get home (I got discharged at 2000 and mw turned up sometime the next am), and then day 5 and day 10. But obvs if you or they have any issues you can call them at any point between x

Quiffy · 13/08/2020 09:41

@otterbaby are you feeling okay today? Im sure baby will be fine esp if feeling movements but give them a ring if feeling funny today.

@Treaclepie19 woo on getting to choose the best one for you! That's nice and comforting.

@LexiM I'm the same, I thought I had everything organised but then made a new list and feel like nothing is done and there is NO TIME. Even though there is ha! #hormones

Beeali7 · 13/08/2020 10:32

Hey guys I’m due 10th October and starting to get a little nervous. How is everyone feeling about just one birthing partner?
I mean I want my partner there but I wanted my mum too. Think she will be more relaxing and supportive but can’t not have him there x

Quiffy · 13/08/2020 10:46

@Beeali7 Hello! I'm 5th October here. My district is allowing 2 birthing partners atm (unless c-section) so feeling very lucky. Like you I really need my mum there as I know she'll be the sensible one that's on the ball while DH freaks out.

If it does change back to one it will only be my DH, as like you say can't not have them there. It's definietly a scary time to be pregnant but still lots of time for hosiptals to ease restrictions - seeing more and more on Facebook every day so fingers crossed. Is this your first?

Treaclepie19 · 13/08/2020 10:49

Hi @Beeali7!

There is still time for things to change. I'll just be having my DH there regardless. Can't imagine having my mom with me but that's just our relationship.

Hope everyone is doing okay ❤

Beeali7 · 13/08/2020 11:01

@Quiffy yes this is my first ours is only allowing one which is really scary!!
It’s been so hard with him not being able to go to scans and appointments

otterbaby · 13/08/2020 11:24

@Quiffy okay today, thanks for asking! Baby is on the move as normal. I just seem to be getting heavier and more off-balance every day!

@Beeali7 hopefully your trust changes the rules before your due date. It seems like more and more are starting to relax things.

Treacle81 · 13/08/2020 13:39

Hi girls, was struck with awful migraine on Mon, totally floored me, felt so sick had to wear eye mask and just lie in bed all of Tuesday. After we had severe thunder storms it lifted and thankfully been back to normal. Jealous of all those that have access to gym as I'm fed up doing them at home but still got a while to wait for them opening. Oh girls I have had to hold myself in I'm laughing so much at your comments. The dick head husband and slow as a slow nearly ended me 😂 My little one had been moving constantly and looking forward to find out measurement tomorrow as have definitely grown more out the way and am lower. I can't remember who mentioned it but I've had sore, tingly nipples for a few days, defo feels like first trimester again so think it must be milk coming. My urine came back normal which is great but going to ask for swab tomorrow just to rule out any infection. It's cooler here today and hope it is the same for you guys. Roll on Autumn!! xx
