Hi everyone
Sorry to hear mood is a bit low generally. I really don’t think the constant sweating helps. Can’t even have a nice cider in the garden and enjoy it! I also burn a lot quicker so have to be super careful outside!

Those ladies who have GD please don’t beat yourselves up, it’s literally nothing you’ve done! @HerondaleDucks it sounds positive you will hopefully be able to manage adjusting diet - not long to go!

My bump has dropped today. I can breathe again!!

@Zaalfruit I’m absolutely gobsmacked that people have been so rude!!! I’d tell them where to shove their opinions. Disgusting.

I find myself daydreaming quite a lot recently about what baby will look like. 🥰 I also started drinking raspberry leaf tea a few days ago, is any one else? X

MrsK89 · 11/08/2020 16:07

Thank you @Quiffy I am sitting in the garden with my feet up, while the kids are running around. I was really hoping it would be a bit cooler since it rained all night, but it's even warmer now!
Hope everyone is feeling better soon

MummyBearBoo · 11/08/2020 16:18

Was in Bridlington last week need that sea breeze back the glorious weather was just about bearable with the breeze! Xx

CharlieBalf · 11/08/2020 19:52

Ugh, really feeling pretty rubbish today. All I seem to be doing is failing to sleep, eating and trying to sleep again. SPD is making getting around incredibly difficult and I just feel like big sweltering blob. It's prob just hormones 😭

32 week growth scan tomorrow and I'm a little nervous, just hoping little one is OK.

BettyBotter1 · 11/08/2020 21:05

Sorry so many of you are having a tough time. I'm feeling a bit low too and am not enjoying the heat. For me it's life stuff weighing a bit heavy rather than pregnancy stuff. 2 year anniversary today :) We were going to go out for dinner but all our locals were booked and in the end we couldn't be bothered, not hungry anyway. Midwife app this morning all good. Baby 10 percentile but being told that's within the average range so no worries there. Was told I'm on the edge of a UTI too but will just keep an eye on myself as not many symptoms. @babymama09 you're in my thoughts, rooting for you and baby. People with GD feeling for you too, a lot to take on board at this stage.

BntTowers · 11/08/2020 22:21

@HerondaleDucks thanks, did you feel it helped any? How are you feeling about it all now?

I feel like we all need a bit of good luck with getting some sleep tonight, it's already awful I don't think much sleep will come tonight. We are due thunder storms tomorrow afternoon, but I don't think they will come.

HerondaleDucks · 11/08/2020 22:49

@BntTowers its made me more determined to do my best by the baby. But I warn you the stabbing your finger 4 times a day seems to be something to get used to! I messed it up twice in a row for the before bed one just now and now my fingers hurt lol!
The machine is pretty nifty though.
I'm just thinking each day as it comes.... and I'm going to miss my croissants...

I ended up going to the gym after work to cool down as bonkers as that sounds. Now I plan to lie with as little clothing as possible on under the fan to try and sleep.

@babymama09 you're doing so well! Don't lose heart. I have everything crossed for you!!

NWnature · 11/08/2020 22:52

Wishing everyone a better nights sleep and hoping we all wake up on the right side of the bed , feeling more positive tomorrow!

Not too long to go now- we got this !!!💪

babymama09 · 12/08/2020 02:47

Giving you guys a late update officially I am 29 weeks and 6 today as its nearly 3am. Yesterday my scan had a turning point! The fluid in my daughters skin and scalp has reduced!!!

Zaalfruit · 12/08/2020 05:37

@babymama09 that’s great news x

This weather is awful when pregnant , just to hot - my legs and feet’s haven’t swollen under yesterday . I have woken up in absolute pain now.

Feel for everyone that has gd- an additional stress :(

Good luck to everyone that has growth scans .

( the bumps comment made to me - are just so ridiculous, my sister has told me to ignore everyone and take lots of update pics of myself but after the comments I just can’t be bothered)

Indigogirl88 · 12/08/2020 07:28

@CouscousEvaporator im thinking of drinking it from 34 weeks, have you gone for a particular brand?

Feeling a bit better today other than a rough sleep with the storm!

I was measuring 97th percentile at 31 weeks im 32 weeks now so waiting another 2 weeks to be measured, already had the GD test though. MIL said that dp was a big baby so no suprises.

Still back to back i think but trying the ball to see if it helps move her 🤞

Spark27 · 12/08/2020 07:38

@babymama09, that's great news. What does it mean for baby if it reduces? (Sorry, I'm completely ignorant) Is it a better birth outcome and/or future outcome? Sounds really positive though. Are they going to keep scanning you? xx

@couscousevaporator I was thinking about it, but am not sure what to buy. I've seen some that say they taste of peppermint, but I hate peppermint. I'm am rubbish at swallowing tablets so the capsules are out.

Fell asleep on the sofa last night. Was awake between 0130-0330 and ate half a packet of cookies and then fell back to sleep with the fan on me 🥵

MrsD1990 · 12/08/2020 07:55

Morning all! Slept terribly last night like everyone else 😭 worse sleep yet and I thought that it couldn't get worse than yesterday's!!

Had my midwife appointment yesterday and that went well. At the previous appointment baby measured a week behind but at this one he's caught up and exactly where he should be, so I'm happy with that! Was told he's breech and not transverse though... Been using my birth ball every night but clearly need to go on it for longer!

Also started NCT yesterday. Hopefully it'll get better because at the moment I'm pretty disappointed. Yesterday's session didn't teach me anything I didn't already learn on the positive birth company which was a fraction of the cost... Hopefully we'll start learning what to do once baby is here soon since that's where I need the most help!

otterbaby · 12/08/2020 08:59

@CouscousEvaporator I've started drinking a cup a day as well. Might just be an old wives tale but it can't hurt!

@Spark27 it tastes more like green tea to me, not peppermint. Like drinking grass, haha.

@babymama09 fab news! Hopefully it keeps up!

@MrsD1990 I felt similar, the positive birth co taught me way more. The last session is an antenatal session so that was probably the most helpful of them all - just wish we had spent more time on that as I was already pretty well-informed regarding the labour/birth side of things.

Quiffy · 12/08/2020 09:01

@CouscousEvaporator I bought the raspberry tea and the tablets, I've been taking the tablets just under a week now but not tried the tea yet, encouraging if it's nice!

@MrsK89 The rain has made no difference to the heat, it's rubbish. Where is winter??? Pleeeeease.

@BettyBotter1 Happy anniversary! Sorry you couldnt get out to celebrate though

@babymama09 wonderful news!

@MrsD1990 yay he's caught up, hopefully he swivels down soon

Fell out with DH (standing for dickhead husband and far from darling) last night and still not speaking to him. Coupled with the heat and a long day ahead of work, I'd quite like to run away and live in the North Pole ha. Hope everyone survived the night as much as you could

AutumnBabyWinterMummy · 12/08/2020 09:38

@babymama09 I'm glad to hear everything is going welll ❤️

I feel much better today didn't wake up too many times which was a change, also spd seems bit better today.

@Quiffy sorry your comment made me laugh about dickhead husband instead of darling 😂 hope you're ok x

BntTowers · 12/08/2020 09:40

@babymama09 that's great news!

@Bettybotter1 happy anniversary

@MrsD1990 hopefully baby moves round for you soon. I felt like that for the first couple of sessions but it seems to be moving on a bit to looking after baby. Our last one was mainly about feeding last week.

@Indigogirl88 hopefully you just have a big baby growing, the measurements always seem to be a bit off though.

@Quiffy they can be insensitive sometimes. Mine keeps saying he's not feeling/seeing baby move much but that's because he is either downstairs on a night or asleep first thing when baby is being really active. This morning there was lots of movement to one side (I think a bum sticking out) and I filmed it and he "still can't see it" men are useless.

Quiffy · 12/08/2020 10:03

@AutumnBabyWinterMummy @BntTowers It was the most stupid thing, I asked if he could get some water for me as it's so hard to get up at this stage and he knew I was really suffering in the heat. He made a big deal about it as if I'd asked him to hike to the frigging Evian mountains. He came back with my water and he's got himself an ice cream (despite going into the freezer for ice being too much effort for me so I had lukewarm tap water). I said cheers for offering me a snack and he had a meltdown, threw his ice cream saying he wouldnt effing eat it then and if I wanted something I should have asked. Whenever I go to the kitchen I ask if he wants something as I'm getting "x, y or z". Id also made him dinner from scratch that took over 90 minutes in a burning hot kitchen just a few hours before. I just took myself to bed and don't plan on asking him for help nor doing anything for him until he apologises for being a spoiled brat. He's spoke to me once asking if I'd like to him to put my breakfast plate in the wash, to which I said no thank you. I figure if he's childish enough to throw a magnum I can be childish too. I did nearly go into the freezer and throw all the ice cream in the bin but I refrained myself hehe.

@Bnttowers that is so annoying, you can't say you're not feeling and then not try to be around when baby is moving most. Men are definitely useless, no idea how many of them make it through their daily lives.

BntTowers · 12/08/2020 10:44

@Quiffy definitely qualifies as a dickhead move.
I wouldn't mind so much but I took a video, how can you not see this massive lump moving under the skin on my tummy.

AutumnBabyWinterMummy · 12/08/2020 10:47

@Quiffy oh they can be so insensitive sometimes and also pretty childish!! I don't think they realise it is hard for us now with our heavy bumps that everything we do is double the effort for us compared to if they just did it! I sometimes feel like dp doesn't believe me when I tell him I'm feeling a certain way like he thinks I'm making it up just because I don't fancy doing something 😂 x

AutumnBabyWinterMummy · 12/08/2020 10:51

@BntTowers at least yours is taking an interest! My dp I'm always saying oh quick she's moving come and feel and he's like the slowest sloth ever coming to feel and then he misses it. So then I say keep your hand there for a minute don't move incase she does it again and I can tell he's bored waiting and is desperate to move his hand away again 😂 I see videos on fb groups I'm on of dads to be like talking to and really making an effort with the bumps and it's honestly the opposite for us! I don't mind though I know he loves us really!

BntTowers · 12/08/2020 10:55

@AutumnBabyWinterMummy oh no, that's my point. He never bothered to come or put his hand there or of he does it's such an effort. I though a video would be less effort for him to focus on but apparently not! It's always he's too tired, or thinks the baby stops as soon as he touches me so what's the point.

BecLJ · 12/08/2020 10:58

@babymama09 that's great news!

@Quiffy that is so frustrating! Maybe it's hard to imagine how much more difficult things are when pregnant but we're carrying a whole baby it doesn't take much for them to carry a glass of water or an extra ice cream! Hope he makes up for it today!

Is anyone else starting to get really sensitive breasts? Mine almost feel like they did in the first trimester. Is it maybe things getting ready for breastfeeding?

Also does anyone have any good suggestions for a sling / baby carrier?

AutumnBabyWinterMummy · 12/08/2020 11:10

@BntTowers oh sorry so you're in same situation as me! They're funny (as in odd) aren't they! Will be fine when babies are here I just think some men are not that connected until baby is actually here.

babymama09 · 12/08/2020 11:15

@Spark27, they are scanning me twice a week with a midwife appointment in between. If the fluid continues to reduce then she has a higher chance of survival. The fluid in the lungs is no different so she may still need help with her breathing but the fact the fluid in her head and skin has reduced or improved slightly is something I didn't expect to hear 🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞it keeps doing that and she will have a better chance of coming home. X
