Champagne between contractions sounds fun 😂 Not too sure I'd fancy it though.

I always get a lot of braxton hicks in pregnancy but these have been regular and intense. Every evenings been like early labour. I'm hoping things are just getting ready and will calm down.

@CouscousEvaporator oh 🙈 I'm going to listen again to see what she says!! But thinking about it I've had 0 alcohol since being pregnant surely a little drink while in labour won't harm! I probably won't feel like it anyway 😂 I agree about what you said about whiskey when all these other pain medications are being offered.
I'm not sure about exercises I was meant to have a call with a physio but then my pain got better so it never happened. Basically they say take it as easy as you can don't overdo anything. But I've been decorating but it needs doing!
Wow amazing they caught the braxton on a scan! How interesting! And no leaky boobs here.

@Treaclepie19 aw I'm sorry to hear that it's been happening quite often, must be hard for you every day knowing it might happen again tonight. Xx

CouscousEvaporator · 06/08/2020 10:08

That’s so strange @Treaclepie19. As a FTM I’d be on high alert (read: neurotic😂)

babymama09 · 06/08/2020 10:17

Morning girls sorry not been on to update, went for my scan last Friday and they found I have more amniotic fluid than I should and I was contracting. Was sent straight to Liverpool women's as I am measuring at 40+ weeks when I was 28 and 3, I have just hit the 29 weeks mark today 🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌, I could go in to labour at any stage now and have wriggles so trying not to panic even though I know she won't stay in me until 37 weeks which is where they want her. On the plus side they have said the longer she is in me the more chance of survival which has never been said before. The fluid hasn't increased or developed anywhere else in her so she is doing well. How is everyone

BntTowers · 06/08/2020 10:17

@BettyBotter1 I ordered a size up, seems a little big but figured it will be ok and would prefer it that way to being tight across the bump, but that may all change yet. I've just put them in the wash this morning to start packing hospital bag at the weekend so not sure how they wash yet.

BntTowers · 06/08/2020 10:20

@babymama09 it's great that they said that, hopefully she will stay put for as long as possible.

I have major pregnancy brain today and cannot concentrate on anything.

Treaclepie19 · 06/08/2020 10:20

Thanks both. To be honest I am on high alert with it. Ds1 my waters broke at 37+2 and I had loads of braxton hicks with him. Wondering if this little one will be even earlier. We shall see!

@Treaclepie19 I can completely relate, evenings I tend to get the worst cramping or pain in my uterus and it shoots at the bottom where my c sec scar tissue is. I have them in the day but nighttime the intensity goes through the roof. I have had a lot of baths to calm it but they start again as soon as I am out and my legs are really hurting especially my left theigh it's felt like running water at one point even tjoifn I can't see anything. Have lower back pain too just above my bum which isn't a good sign I don't think I just cannot get comfy

blankiesandunicorns · 06/08/2020 10:26

So my placenta has moved which is great! But Baby measuring on the 90th percentile so I'm waiting to see a doctor, don't really know what doc will do I had glucose bloods at 28 weeks as I was measuring big then. But they obviously want to monitor me and I will need more scans

Treacle81 · 06/08/2020 10:29

Morning girls! I managed to sleep well despite pains which was best lucky, was almost sat upright lol. @BettyBotter1 I have a few nighties and ordered one size up and they are defo big enough. Hope everyone stays cool in this heat we have coming up 😎. @babymama09 that seems positive news, I hope she can stay in as long as possible. Skin all spotty again, bloody hormones!!! xx

Treaclepie19 · 06/08/2020 10:29

I'm glad they're more positive @babymama09. Sorry you're feeling crampy too.

I'm feeling quite nervous about it today because I was reading the signs of preterm labour and have most of them except for bleeding. Will have to watch and wait i guess. Each day brings us closer to babies arriving safe and sound ❤

Glad your placenta has moved @blankiesandunicorns! Hope everything is okay with the doctor.

CharlieBalf · 06/08/2020 10:34

@Treaclepie19 ah thbaks, I don't think I've experienced anything like that, yet, sounds pretty scary!

@blankiesandunicorns I'm hoping mine has moved, but Tbh I'm just hoping the scan shows a healthy baby and I don't care how it comes out 😂😂

FourPlasticRings · 06/08/2020 10:58

@blankiesandunicorns it's great news about the placenta. Don't worry too much about the size- scans are notoriously inaccurate for estimating baby weight. There are loads of people on MN who were induced early over fears of having an 11lb baby and in fact they were born at 6 or 7lb. I'd still take the medical advice on it, but don't worry too much.

FourPlasticRings · 06/08/2020 11:01

@babymama09 have you mentioned the leg pain to someone? Any redness? If so, I'd call the pregnancy assessment unit and see what they say. Probably nothing, but I'm always wary of deep vein thrombosis.

FourPlasticRings · 06/08/2020 11:09

@AutumnBabyWinterMummy Tbh I daresay a bit of champagne would be ok from a baby standpoint. Midwives used to advise a large whisky or similar in the early stages to help you sleep through them. My concern would be dehydration and the potential for the alcohol to interact with drugs that may be given during the later stages.

FourPlasticRings · 06/08/2020 11:12

@Spark27 Thanks for your perspective on it. I am tempted because, like you say, I don't want her to feel pushed out when the baby is here. She's never been to nursery before, so if I didn't send her now, it would probably have to wait until after Christmas and I am concerned that she won't get much in the way of mental and social stimulation when I'm struggling to cope with a newborn again.

NWnature · 06/08/2020 11:16

@AutumnBabyWinterMummy I’m so on this page! I want a magnum of champagne and platter of sushi as soon as the baby has arrived.

Hope everyone who has been cramping is feeling better. I’ve had no cramping or leaky boobs. Generally feeling quite normal apart from sore hips sleeping on my sides at night and feeling wiped out from the hot weather.

My anterior placenta is so annoying though, movements just really weak and sporadic. It’ll be interesting to see what the mw reckons at next appointment. I think the baby has moved from transverse lie though as before felt (the occasional) movements low at the sides of bump and now feel nothing there and just occasional bits at the top of bump. I’m also intrigued to see how I’m doing in the growth scale, my 28 measurement was big (80th percentile) but when I went for the scan the baby was measuring very average. I would love another scan as not feeling much movement is stressing me out constantly.

Treacle81 · 06/08/2020 12:10

@blankiesandunicorns great news about placenta. I'm a little concerned that having an anterior they aren't doing anymore scans to check position of mine. Also the little notes I have on notes app say midwife and consultant led, I've only seen a midwife 🤔xx

babymama09 · 06/08/2020 12:12

@FourPlasticRings, I have mentioned it repeatedly and keep getting told its coz I have loads of amniotic fluid and where baby is lay. But it is so painful in my left theigh.

HerondaleDucks · 06/08/2020 12:34

@FourPlasticRings that's really reassuring thank you!

Thanks all for the nice comments.

@babymama09 I'm so glad you are doing so well! I hope she stays well behaved for as long as possible. My everything is crossed for you both!

I'm exhausted today, super dead leg. The midwife said on Tuesday there was nothing you can do about the leg numbness.

I've had to deal with a really grumpy teenager the last 2 days. I must say patience does wear thin when you're almost 32 weeks pregnant. She's with her mum today though, so I'm enjoying the quiet lol.

@CouscousEvaporator I have 1 leaky boob. Only a little bit though. But yeah every so often it leaks and then goes crusty. Fun times.

I'm really struggling with having to lay on my left side all the time with this numb leg. Is it really terrible to switch to the right? Sometimes I do without thinking and then I panic and go back to the left and just stay uncomfortable.

BntTowers · 06/08/2020 13:06

@HerondaleDucks I don't think it really matter which side, left is better but right is fine too. I'm mostly on my right as that's the side I can fall asleep on.

Treacle81 · 06/08/2020 13:30

@HerondaleDuck baby doesn't seem to like me on my left side so for the last week I've had no option but sleep on right xx

FourPlasticRings · 06/08/2020 14:00

@HerondaleDucks either side is fine.

@babymama09 It's good that you've raised it and no one is worried. I'd watch it though, and if it gets red or warm to the touch, call back immediately. And if they don't take it seriously at that point and you suspect something is wrong, if you call 111 they'll send you to an urgent care centre, which then will refer you back to the PAU but they'll have to then act on it because it's come as a referral for suspected DVT. I know this from experience. Be warned though- if they can't scan you immediately (basically if it's not office hours) you'll end up having to self-inject clexane into your stomach until they can see you and that is not fun.

BntTowers · 06/08/2020 15:34

Just been told I'm right of the cut off point with GD so I'm having extra scans now and going to have to take home blood sugar tests and go to the diabetic clinic next week. It makes me feel like such a failure. At least I'll get to see baby a few more times before they arrive.
