We have everything bought but like @Quiffy we need to donate some things and have a clear out. I'd found a womens refuge to donate to but they're not replying about a collection.

We have a totter and tumble playmat in our living room @Quiffy and it's fab. Wipe clean and warmer than the laminate. Not cheap but after our massive IKEA rug got ruined by a sickly baby/toddler and potty training it seemed worth it.

Baby monitor wise we've gone for a BT 3000 this time. Seems to have good reviews.

@Aquablue1123, my friend got the tiny love 3in1 for her 2nd DS, and she loved it. I have to say that baby always looked really comfortable and happy in it. She said she's going to give it to me to use this time round. I'm really happy with that as it will save me having to move moses basket downstairs, and have space for a bouncy chair. Save a lot of space, esp with all DDs toys

I think I managed about 2hrs sleep last night on the sofa. I was so hot. And worried as it was so hot in DDs room. Even with 2 fans on it was 31c in her room at midnight. Urgh. Pleased its cooler today. Definitely going to have a sleep today. DH is staying out tonight at a lads bbq so I am going to milk it today and get him to do everything, when he gets up x

Quiffy · 01/08/2020 10:21

@Treaclepie19 the Totter and Tumble looks ideal thank you! Have you tried British Heart Foundation, I’ve managed to send in a booking request to them and they guarantee a call back within 3 days. I booked in one electrical piece and then you can add on normal bags. One old monitor and 8 bags of general stuff 😹

@Spark27 the weather is crazy warm, great idea on making dh do everything. That’s how you earn your lad’s night 😹

otterbaby · 01/08/2020 10:24

I haven't even thought about a monitor yet, I thought we'd just wait because I read they don't sleep unattended until at least 6-ish months anyway? Or do we need one right away?

NWnature · 01/08/2020 10:37

Ooh I have been looking at totter & tumble too but thought it seemed v pricey! Good to know you think it’s worth it @Treaclepie19

So flipping hot last night! I ended up top to tail in the bed to try and get more room and had a cold flannel from the bathroom to put across my forehead which did make a real difference!

30 weeks today for me!!!!!

Treaclepie19 · 01/08/2020 10:39

@Quiffy glad to have helped, they're really lovely mats.
Thats a good shout, thanks! We donated our table there actually and they were brilliant. We managed to find a shop this morning to drop off a few bags and will organise the rest for another day 😊

Hoping things will come together today to get things sorted.

Hadn't refreshed. Yep we love ours @NWnature and so does our 4yo Smile

bluemoon2468 · 01/08/2020 11:53

@otterbaby I'm not getting a monitor before the baby's born. He'll sleep supervised until he's at least 6 months and we're in a flat anyway so we'll always be about 10 seconds away from him! Not sure we'll ever need one!

Indigogirl88 · 01/08/2020 12:48

Having the mask on in the heat was horrendous @HerondaleDucks

I'm feeling the heat today, nausea and dehydration even though I'm drinking loads of water. I've tried laying down for a bit now feel foggy headed, however I am getting lots of normal movements when I lay down. So that's reassurance Grin

HerondaleDucks · 01/08/2020 14:42

I've been feeling really rough today in the heat. Also been having light cramping in the pelvic region which is making me so uncomfortable. Both hips are sore and I just feel ergh.
I was totally planning to paint some of my living room today but I feel defeated and now am worrying about getting everything done in time.
DH has gone fishing for the whole weekend, so its just me and Dsd. I keep dragging myself downstairs to do something productive so she doesn't think I'm a lazy so and so but I hoovered the downstairs and it finished me off.
When will august rain and cold come? I would prefer to this heat!

MrsD1990 · 01/08/2020 17:35

@HerondaleDucks hope you get some rest! This heat is so exhausting. We are moving on Monday so we've been packing boxes all day and I've been shattered the whole time - I've been packing while sat down as much as possible!!

I bought a changing bag from the Aldi online baby event and it came today 😁 it was only about £18 and includes a travel changing mat which I thought was handy. It's also a backpack or can be strapped to the pram. My only worry is that it might not last very long, otherwise I think it looks really good. Was just going to use a normal backpack so I'm happy with this 😁

Buzz22 · 01/08/2020 19:07

I'm also hating this hot weather. I'm not a hot weather/summer person at the best of times...let alone when pregnant!

I found my first stretch marks today 😞 on the bottom of my boobs. Wouldnt have noticed but I caught sight in the mirror.
Even though I havent put on much weight so far I was always expecting strech marks as I have some from puberty. Boobs haven't even grown though! They do seem a bit heavier so I guess the weight has stretched the skin.

Treaclepie19 · 01/08/2020 19:37

Same, I hate the hot weather generally so when pregnant I'm just miserable.
Feeling quite sick again today even though its been cooler so I'm wondering if its a pregnancy thing.

I've just been watching the positive birth company videos. Can't quite believe I'm going through it all again.

How is everyone's weekend going?

My midwife appointment went well yesterday, I'm happy with the little weight gain (was told I shouldn't gain too much because of my BMI) DH got to stand outside the window and hear baby's heartbeat which was good. I had a lot of blood taken as they are only doing the blood test for gd at my trust instead of the glucose test, I was very glad DH could drive me there as I'm not sure I could have walked the mile back home in 33° heat after bloods being done! And wearing a mask and being on my back for a while I think i would have passed out on the way home.

Today we have ordered our pram and car seat. The person in the shop said we had left it a bit late but should be here in time. Baby just isn't allowed to turn up early (probably will now!)

No plans for tomorrow apart from cleaning the house.

@Buzz22 I have stretch marks all over my boobs and thighs since puberty I'm waiting for the stomach ones to appear...

Good luck to those moving or packing up houses, you really have my sympathy with how hot it is at the moment it must be so hard. Make sure you rest as much as you can.

CharlieBalf · 01/08/2020 19:41

@HerondaleDucks oh man, I did the same today! Hoovered downstairs which made hubby think I was productive but then had to have a sit down and a cold drink 😂 Even snuck in a nap this afternoon which was nice cause last night was too fudging hot.
@Buzz22 I can't wait for the cooler weather either, so unfair that this year has been record breaking heat wise, I could have done with a nice British damp summer!

LexiM · 02/08/2020 10:31

@Aquablue1123 sorry you arent feeling great. I have waves of feeling sick now but I'm glad they dont last.
For monitors we were going to get the BT 6000 but think we may get the BT5000 as from what I can see the only difference is an extra large screen and it seems very large so we think the 5000 will be fine and saves some money. They have good reviews and the other reason we went for those is because apparently they aren't as easy to hack as some connected via phones etc.

Sorry some of you are feeling rough in the heat, it is hard. I am fine providing I dont move much, as soon as I do anything I get too hot and struggle to cool down.

@Buzz22 I also have stretch marks on the underside of my boobs, they grew quite a lot early in pregnancy and I just hadn't noticed them! So annoying.

I got some milk storage bags, sterilising bags and cot sheets in the Aldi baby event, few more things ticked off the list.

@BntTowers glad your appointment went well and so lovely your husband got to hear the heartbeat. Bet you were relieved to get the pram ordered, it's so hard to know how long it's going to take to come. I ordered early and it came within 3 days!

I had such an amazing surprise yesterday. I thought I was seeing my pregnant friend at my mums but got there and my mum had arranged a baby shower. I wasnt sure whether I wanted one and I'm never fussed by the games but all my best friends were there and we just had a bbq in the garden, very relaxed. I had no idea, usually I would guess that kind of thing and looking back there were a lot of giveaways but I am just tired and slow and hadn't realised at all! Even my husband who is bad at secrets kept quiet and he was with me which was lovely to share the day with him too. I was so overwhelmed and truly spoilt by everyone. My mum had arranged it early so my friend who is due in a few weeks could be there too. I am glad we had it early too because I was shattered by the end of today and this morning felt hungover even though I didn't drink!!
My husband got me a little charm for a bracelet or necklace of a moon, stars and a stalk carrying the baby. He said he he thought he was meant to get a gift when going to a baby shower. I laughed and said even when it's your own baby!

Well my friend has certainly given us clothes, A LOT! Very generous of her as shes having a girl this time she didn't want them anymore. We certainly dont really need to buy anymore for our baby boy now 😂

Treaclepie19 · 02/08/2020 10:42

Thats so lovely @LexiM!! I'm glad you had a great time :)

I'd wanted to do a pre baby meet up but I think im 1) a bit nervous about how to do it safely and 2) feeling a bit forgotten.

Also on the feeling sick train. I've lost my appetite a bit and keep heaving again.

Plans for today are a veggie roast and carrying on sorting the house (seriously how is there so much stuff)

Treacle81 · 02/08/2020 12:58

Hey girls! Aww that was so sweet of your mum to do that for you, glad you got spoiled (even from daddy) lol. My movements are much stronger and it just freaks me out feeling bone at times lol. I think I might have a UTI or some kind of bacterial infection down there as just don't think this amount of discharge when I first wake up is normal. Going to ask for a Swan test as never got urine tested at last appointment although one before has protein traces xx

Treacle81 · 02/08/2020 12:58

*Swab

BettyBotter1 · 02/08/2020 14:08

@LexiM that's just beautiful, how lovely everyone was there and very sweet of your husband to bring a gift!
@Buzz22 and @LexiM I'm in the stretch marks under boob (yes just one!) club with you. Weirdly it doesn't bother me at all, thought it would, but I'm fine with it.
Those thinking about monitors, we're not getting one to begin with as we don't think we'll need it, but might get one later on if we change our minds, or set up an old mobile phone to do the same job because it wouldn't cost.
In other news, DH, who has been out of work due to covid has a new job - in germany 😬😱😁 so we will soon be apart a lot as he heads out there to get started and sort us somewhere to live and then we'll all be relocating soon as I've recovered enough and can get baby a passport. Both happy, excited and intimidated by everything!!

MrsD1990 · 02/08/2020 16:09

Just taking a break from another day of packing! God I'm exhausted, but the flat is almost done thankfully. Then immediately need to start some unpacking tomorrow after the move!!

@lexim how lovely that you had a surprise baby shower!! Love that your husband was involved - I'm hoping to do a welcome to the world party later on when baby is a bit older (instead of the baby shower) and definitely want husband involved!!

@BettyBotter1 oh wow congratulations! It will be such an adventure - it's funny how we never really know what might be round the corner. Wishing you all the best!!

HerondaleDucks · 02/08/2020 16:35

@LexiM that sounds so wonderful! What a lovely surprise!!!

I was wondering what everyone is planning to wear in labour. Everything I read keeps banging on about button down tops. But I feel a bit clueless.

HerondaleDucks · 02/08/2020 16:37

@BettyBotter1 what an adventure! Good luck. I hope it all goes smoothly.
My dh had several friends who were posted over in Germany through the Army. They all loved living there, apparently the quality of life is so much better than the UK. They are a bit gutted they've all been relocated back to the UK now.

HerondaleDucks · 02/08/2020 16:40

Also on the subject of stretch marks... I never in a million years thought I would ever say this, but all of the monstrous stretch marks I got through puberty have come back to see me in good stead and I haven't got any new ones and they seem like they've not got any bigger. I always said to my dh I didn't really care about stretch marks cause I was already covered in them. I had a very rapid growth spurt when I was about 6 to 10. My skin never kept up with me.

AutumnBabyWinterMummy · 02/08/2020 16:50

@LexiM that sounds so lovely and perfect a nice surprise!!

@Treaclepie19 I also seem to have lost appetite a bit, it's weird I am really really hungry but don't fancy anything. I can manage sweet things though which is pretty bad.

@BettyBotter1 that sounds really exciting!!

@MrsD1990 ah I bet you are tired out, will be worth it when you're in your new home and can finally nest and get settled but sounds exhausting.

@HerondaleDucks I've bought just this week on boohoo 2 black (one polka dot) completely button down nighties. Just took a size up from normal even though they are maternity and they're really comfy, not tight at all and good length for me. On sale too. And I'm also the same re stretch marks, got loads as a teen so expected loads now and haven't touch wood as yet had any. I was religiously putting on bio oil from start of 2nd tri but recently stopped, maybe I'll do that again as maybe it helped.

I am completely flat out exhausted. I have done a little something every day to help with the arrival of baby just small bits of diy or going out to buy this and that but nothing at all that should make me anywhere near as exhausted as I am. I had a good night sleep last night but was tired all morning til had nap then woke up tired with tired eyes and just have been slumping around ever since. Baby feels really heavy. Maybe also to do with my low iron but I've been on these tablets a week was hoping they may have kicked in by now x
